In politics, as in all of life, things are not always as they appear. Consider the possibility that President Obama’s most recent dissing of Las Vegas may not have been just another casual faux pas. Let’s review the action.
Round 1: It all started back in February 2009 when Obama made this disparaging jab about Vegas followed by Senator Harry Reid’s defense of Obama from the floor of the Senate.
Some Nevadans were dissatisfied with Harry’s response. When the President came to a Reid fundraising event in Vegas in May 2009, he and Reid didn’t receive a completely warm reception.
Round 2: A few days ago Obama jabbed at Vegas, again. Mayor Oscar Goodman stepped into the ring and threw a few heavy punches of his own.
Round 3: In no time at all, Reid came out counterpunching.
The President needs to lay off Las Vegas and stop making it the poster child for where people shouldn’t be spending their money. I would much rather tourists and business travelers spend their money in Las Vegas than spend it overseas.
Round 4: Then, faster than you can play a hand of blackjack, a letter of apology from Obama posted on Harry’s website. And, presto, Harry was reinvented as the pugnacious pugilistic defender of Las Vegas.
Too Machiavellian, you say? Hardly. Given Harry’s standing in the polls out in Nevada, he needs some serious reinventing.

Harry isn't long for this world. Sadly, there are obviously two large black lumps growing from his throat, rendering him unable to say anything, racist or otherwise.

Reinventing Harry Reid is an impossibility. obama is just kicking sand in Reid's face and is greasing the skids for chuck u schumer or durbin to become Leader, if the Repubs don't take over the Senate.
Reid is a has been and his stock is falling as fast as the Dow.
Harry is the loneliest man in the Senate these days.
Uhm, this article isn't going to be a candidate for any dissertation. This is an impossibility. It would be an attempt to defy the laws of physics.
I would not put anything past Barry and did have similar thoughts myself. Barry did suffer quite a lot of collateral damage from his Vegas dissing mission. Barry all smokinig mirrors , Vegas might be a good place for his next job after he is fired in 2012.

What Obama is doing is starting the process ( nudging ) of letting WE THE PEOPLE know that in his vision ( the Progressive vision ) of our country, we will no longer have the disposalable income to enjoy the extras in life. The rest of the worlld doesn't have the money to do them, so why should the U.S. He wants to make this country poorer so other countries can have more. This will enable the government to have more power, how's that working out for the China, N. Korea. Iran and the South American countries?

Does a photo exist of Harry that does not look like he just found out someone just stole his favorite toy? In this photo, he reminds me (not so pleasantly) of my 7th grade teacher, Sister Anne Michelle. Ouch!

This was the first thing that popped into my head when I heard this comment. It's fitting, trying to set up Harry to look like the great defender of Nevada. Unfortunately, Nevadans have had enough of that guy. Like one person responded to this article: Not even Jesus can help Harry Reid.
Reid called tourists out for their bad smell/odour in Washington. He really doesn't like tourists or people. Vegas is all about tourism.
I think this little piece of theatrics had to have been conceived by the Hollywood brain trust. As evidence, I point to the fact that it's not even clever, the timing is poorly executed, and requires complete suspension of reality for the plot's "hero".
Nobody could re-invent Harry Reid. He's been senile since his stroke. Just look at all the stupid words that have come out of his mouth:

Well, you've got to hand it ot Obama. Nothing like complaining about people spending their own money on what they want when Obama is so busy trying to collect every last dollar people have so he can spend trillions to pay-off his pals. And just what would happen if everyone who went to Vegas, or spent money on a hard-earned vacation, or invited people over for a dinner of hamburgers or hot dogs (while Obama prefers wagu beef for his guests)? If no one spent any money, the economy would go down the sewer.
