Good reporting, Archy. Just another nail in the coffrin of the Neo-Pravada.

That being said, don't put too much stock on the protests themselves. I've been to Jakarta countless times over the past coupled decades and they will throw these things for ANY reason whatsoever. And they've done it to EVERY single president since they obtained their "independence."

Truth be told, Indonesia is so bloody disfunctional I would advocate giving it back to the Dutch if I thought the Dutch would actually accept.

But it is telling as to where the loyalties of the MSM lie.

According to all the pro-Obama sycophants, it was Bush's fault that we were so "disliked" in the Islamic world and we needed to vote for the "Global Citizen" Obama to repair ourselves. Never mind that ignorant theories like these ignore centuries of world history let alone more recent history which pre-dates Bush's college days, not simply his presidency. Now that the boogeyman Bush is gone, it seems that it's Israel's refusal to roll over into the Mediterranean combined with its audacity in building 1600 Jerusalem apartments that the Left blames for America's not winning a popularity contest in the Islamic world. If you want to know what's really wrong with the Islamic world, study hundreds of years of abject repression, murder, slave trade and genocidal horror. Forget about Indonesia or Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria or Yemen. They're too obvious. Instead spin the globe southwards and study almost any country in Africa. Nigeria, for example, where just last week we learned (actually you had to really look for the news since the MSM buried it) that 300 Christians were slaughtered by Islamic killers in ethnic genocide, is the 8th largest oil producer in the world and has for years been plagued by ethnic genocide between Islamists and Christians, unbearably high AIDS statistics (almost every African country claims to have the highest) and official corruption that makes anything you've seen in the US look like pre-school shenanigans. Does Obama have any brilliant anti-US explanation for this? Should he travel to Nigeria and bow down to someone and say that it's all our fault that the Muslim world is so screwed up? Perhaps his explanation is what we saw in the press recently from Biden and Clinton–it seems that the Obama plan is that if the US can threaten Israel just enough to overthrow Netanyahu and convince a more left-oriented Israeli PM that Israel should establish "No-Jew" neighborhoods in Jerusalem and stop defending itself against rocket attacks on its citizens, then we'll all experience universal love for the United States all over the Islamic world. Sounds like a brilliant plan.
