She was likened to a modern day Rosa Parks or Nelson Mandela, but the former Ag official, according to the Washington Post, was not interviewed on a single major Sunday morning talk-show following a week that can only be described as a Shirley Sherrod media frenzy. Though the conversation on Sunday morning focused on race in America, noticeably absent from the discussion was the woman behind the controversy. Earlier this week a handful of people in the blogosphere began to speculate that Sherrod would pull off a “full Ginsburg,” or become only the thirteenth person to appear on all major Sunday talk-shows on the same day since the feat was first accomplished by William H. Ginsburg in 1998. However, this was before a clip of Sherrod suggesting Andrew Breitbart wants blacks “stuck back in the times of slavery” went viral. Sherrod also drew extensive criticism for blasting Fox News as racist.
Considering the Shirley Sherrod interview barrage that took place last Thursday, to not see Sherrod on television Sunday morning sends a clear signal the mainstream media no longer feels allowing the public to get to know the real Shirley Sherrod advances their agenda.
Last week, Charles Krauthammer pointed out that while Sgt. Crowley got a beer summit after Obama merely (and mistakenly) said he “acted stupidly,” Shirley Sherrod got just a seven-minute phone call after she was forced to resign. The White House and the Obama Administration who hastily relieved her of her position were already keeping her at arms length, and now the mainstream media is too.

Couldn't happen to a nicer person, but I have a feeling this is not the last we see f her.
I imagine we are about to see a video or read a transcript that doesn't show redemption.
Just because we didn't see her today on the talk circuit, doesn't mean we're not a bunch of racists. : -)
Okay, I don't mean to gloat but I called this last week after her first couple of interviews. I knew there would be a news blackout on her very soon and the Obama admin. would tuck her away out of sight and out of mind.
She likes the spotlight, though. She'll be a hard one to keep under the bus.
She's being used for a particular purpose, once her usefulness has been exausted she'll end up on the scrap heap. Her 15 minutes of fame are almost up.
She was conspicuous in her absence. She appears muzzled because with each tidbit she tossed out it got stranger. She could very well have a Rev Wright moment. Listening to the flattery from the talking heads I thought I was at a funeral.
Why did no co-workers defend her?
Orders from headquarters, I'm sure.
It was stipulated in her new contract that she not share anymore stories of "redemption" with the American people. She should have read the fine print…
She didn't appear in person, but her name and charade was often mentioned and defended by the likes of Cornel West and Donna Brazile.

Now that is the best question I have seen all week. WTG!
The silence is deafining! If the Whitehouse thought this issue had any beneficial legs we would see Ms. Sherrod on all of the Talking Head inane programs back to back. They know they have inadvertently kick over a "hornets nest". They are desperate for this to go away…………………DO NOT GIVE THEM AN INCH!! The NAACP and all of its enablers, Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and any other "Race Baiting" shylock have stepped in it big time, they are desperate to remove the stink they have emitted. Make them explain. The template isn;t working……..Howard (YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!) Dean on Fox Sunday had his breakfast eggs firmly squished in his face when he tried to push the mantra that Fox was responcible, Chris Mattews to his credit nailed Dean to the wall, leaving him sputtering. Keep this issue going, for no other reason than they want it to die.
The Administration can't afford to have their new piece of damaged goods on display because, of course, any interviewer worth his or her salt would expose her racial attitudes within a few minutes. But in a way, having lived among rural Blacks in North Carolina when I was younger, I fully understand the resentments still held by middle aged and older Blacks. It's better that she fade into obscurity; let's all move on from this.
Now the MSM can kinda keep her as a hero, as a Rosa Parks figure. Had she run her mouth much more all America would have seen her true colors.
If we see her on any of the usual big media sites, she's either going to be all telepromptered up and/or set-up with non-controversial softball questions, since if Sherrod goes off-message it pretty much blows up the martyr status those same big media outlets are trying to craft for her (and it doesn't help her case to get tons of TV time that she sees herself as a victim of Breitbart, Fox News and the White House. The latter isn't supposed to be with the first two).
Saint Shirley will not forgive.
if fox news is racist for announcing her resignation, what does that make obama for forcing it?
Who wants to see that lying racist ugly mug again anyway?
Blah blah blah, racist, blah blah blah, sure I might sue, blah blah blah, fox news, blah blah blah Breitbart, blah blah blah Obama loves me, blah blah blah.
I imagine there is a lot of shit to be uncovered on this radical and the quicker they bury it the better for them. Her radical talk is betraying them with all of the bad press they have had in the last few months. So I am sure they told her STFU!
Good Ol' Shirley needs to keep her face hole closed.
The stuff that comes out of it is not beneficial to anyone.
Hmmm, since she was (is?) a public employee all of her work is public information. I wonder if the USDA has been bombarded with FOIA requests on her work.
She's busy working out contracts with Jesse & Al for her spot in their racketeering organizations.
Ya they won't ever let her out to just speak her mind ever again. If she does interviews they will be taped so they can be effectively edited if she makes a boo-boo.
She is NO Rosa Parks ………
Big girl your 15 minutes went by so fast. Race pimps must be pulling their hair out in frustration that she had to open her fat mouth.
Wow, that was the fastest 15 min in history! LOL I think it's hilarious. By letting her talk, the true "context" of what she was saying did come out- and it turns out AB had it right!
Fox News isn't racist, they just prefer to air stories that some might claim to be race-baiting, conspiratorial in nature, and xenophobic/Islamophobic.
Remember the Nuclear Summit? They had a story about how the logo might secretly be a Crescent, and thus a message to Muslims.
Selfish, impulsive and reactionary.
Someone who acted stupidly.
I heard part of a speech she gave on Mark Levin's show. She is what a piece of work.
They did? Can you cite it? Was it a news program or a commentary program? Or was it a story about how some people were disturbed by it … you know like the story that CNN ran about how "some people are questioning whether or not Sarah Palin actually gave birth to her son, Trig"? A little context would help.
But let's do talk about race-baiting networks. Like MSNBC's photoshop job to delete a black gun owner from a photo that featured the gun he was holding. Or the unquestioning repetition of the specious and debunked "n-word" accusation. So, yeah, we can talk about race-baiting and the news, but I don't think the conversation's going to go where you want it to go.
What are the odds we are about to see the real truth about the black racist/marxist/ultra-radical/America hating, reverse-discriminating Shirley Sherrod in living color (no pun inteended)?……and the MSM and the White House know it and decided to cut their losses……..Go get 'em and shout it from the highest mountaintop AB, Glen Beck, Rush, Sean, Mark, Neal Boortz, John Gibson, and Michael Savage!!….What was that about people who live in glass houses???? Send her, the Kenyan, and the MSM the real message in November!!!!! I love it!!
Nothing like fifteen minutes of fame for someone who can't even count to 15 cuz she only gots 10 fingerz yo….
GhettObama and friends….it's like a real live UPN BET sitcom.
Idiot, the 'beer summit' and the case with Sherrod are totally different situations. Right wingnuts are trying to scare white people into thinking that the Black president is out to get them, and Whites fall for it everytime. I have never seen such a bunch of flag waving, whiny, cry babies in all my life. I will be glad when Obama's term is finished and you all can have your God forsaken country back. Maybe you will feel better when a White is in office sticking it to you. You all seem like you didnt mind it when Bush was in office spending like a drunken sailor.
"You all seem like you didnt mind it when Bush was in office spending like a drunken sailor. "
If you cared at all about what we thought, you would have known otherwise. You let your ignorant bigotry shut us out. Stay ignorant, bigot. You are irrelevant.
I bet she is still a racist.
It will be very interesting to see if Sherrod accepts a position back with the USDA or in any federal agency. If she does, then the news cycle will continue to want to get to "know" the real Shirley Sherrod. Something the administration, along with the main stream media does not want
Poetx, short of brains, high on claims. The president, who happens to be black, is scary because he is a socialist, not because he is black. Some ass hole like Poetx wants to make it about color. I prefer to make it about the character or lack of character found in Obama. Obama is a socialist and that is scary for Americans of all colors. In any case, Poetx is a god damned racist piece of crap and when such people die, good riddance.
From what I understand from the Atlanta news channels, the portion of the speech she was giving that got uploaded to YouTube was edited and taken out of context. What she was doing was telling an anecdotal story of how she overcame her own racistist impulses and helped the Spooners keep their farm. The Spooners were interviewed and said they were happy with her services and that she did help them keep their farm. They also said they considered Shirley a friend and had kept in touch with her over the years. I see no reason not to believe the Spooners.
But I do wonder if that segment of her speech was put out on the internet as bait for exactly what happened.
