In the early stages of the Shirley Sherrod controversy, the media began to craft the narrative Shirley Sherrod was the embodiment of the term “post-racial.” Then on July 22nd on Anderson Cooper 360, this happened:
SHIRLEY SHERROD: I think he [BREITBART] would like to get us stuck back in the times of slavery. That’s where I think he would like to see all black people end up again. And that’s why…
COOPER: You think — you think he’s racist?
SHERROD: … I think he’s so vicious. Yes, I do.
Cooper, dumbfounded by Sherrod’s comments, did not muster any type of a challenge to Sherrod.
Flash forward to yesterday, and AC360 went on record to admit that he had erred by allowing Sherrod to deliver such provocative remarks unchecked, and said that he’d handle the situation differently if he had the opportunity again. Still, a good-faith Nexis search indicates that Cooper has not adequately alerted his viewership that Andrew Breitbart had in fact granted Shirley Sherrod her redemption in both the originally released footage of her speech to the NAACP audience and in his write-up that accompanied the video. We would appreciate it if he would broaden the contextual frame of the story to include that bit of information that has not been adequately conveyed by the media up until this point.
After his mea culpa, Cooper did something completely unexpected. He, along with reporter Joe Johns, aired the viral video clip of Charles Sherrod, Shirley’s Civil Rights legend husband delivering some choice remarks of his own:
CHARLES SHERROD: Finally, we must stop the white man and his Uncle Toms for stealing our elections. We must not be afraid to vote black. We must not be afraid to turn a black out who votes against our interest.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
COOPER: So, is this taken out of context the way Shirley Sherrod’s comments were taken out of context?
JOE JOHNS: It doesn’t appear to be. Apparently, he said what he meant, meant what he said.
Anderson Cooper not only owned up to a mistake, but granted this revealing footage (that turned up originally on conservative blogs) of Sherrod’s husband a broader audience. This is solid journalism, and hopefully others will take his lead.

Charles Sherrod is just one more professional "negro" looking for a buck and some attention. He should read Clarence Thomas' book, but he probably wouldn't understand it.
Do you think Andrew had multiple points to make when he released this excerpt of a video?
Maybe to prod the old media into some journalism and investigative reporting is a couple of them?

The truth shall prevail and I know I have posted comments that others considered maybe racist but puhleeeze, this whole scenario smells like a dead corpse. Sherrod is a manipulator and Andrew knows it as we all do. The adrenaline running in the Sherrod veins blinds them to the "big" picture and will ulitmately make them look like racists as they are and will make ALL that apologized to them big fools, which is ok by me.
You go Andrew!! I know you are cunning and smart and all this will only prove how many stupid people are in this world. They obviously don't know how to play chess.
One must also ask why would cooper even go there? They are getting hammered from all directions thats why. Ratings, the journolist cartel, transparent daily POTUS boot licking… the list goes on. Pretty sad for them that they have scramble for a real news story in a hilarious attempt to save themselves.
So I would like the media to ask the following question to Shirley: Do you agree or disagree with your racist husband?
She's a good wife. She supports her racist husband, being racist herself..
The only reason Cooper was "dumbfounded" was because he'd already bought the narrative of "poor innocent Shirley" and expected her to play along.
Michelle Robinson was a hater as well. Another marriage to watch.
Cooper might as well resign from CNN now instead of waiting for the wingnuts to light torches and come for him. He has betrayed the wackadoo left and will be punished.
He should update his resume and apply to fox where they accept actual journalists…even with opposing views.

And is it even possible that Cooper either pulled his head ever so briefly out of the sand or that he is finally realizing that all lies see the light of day. And the LIE of POTUS 44 is about to send every nursery rhyme ever written to the ancient archives. This next nursery rhyme about these jokers will bury them all. And it will be quite a fall. Both Sherrods are racist fools with low IQs. The more they say, the more obvious it becomes to everyone, even CNN.
The people at CNN are many things, but stupid isn't one of them. It could be that they are finally seeing the writing on the wall and do not want to follow the New York Times into oblivion. It seems to me with most of the media becoming simple shills for progressives and all the accusations of Fox having a right wing agenda, there should a whole lot of room in the center for factual, unbiased reporting and a lot of money to be made doing so. Personally, I believe Fox does a very good job of reporting news in an unbiased manner, but if the rest of the MSM is so convinced that Fox does not, then why don't they capitalize on the opportunity? Of course logic is not a strong attribute if you are so politically blind that you can't see it.

It's very paradoxical. She maintains that she has gotten over the race issue while talking about a speech she did for the NAACP. How is giving a speech to an entirely homogeneous make up of race, getting past race issues?

I don't care what color Mr&Mrs Sherrod are (except blue cuz then that means they're choking and someone ought to give them the Heimlich or something) but do you think they're capable of running an agency when advancing their race is in their hearts instead of efficiently operating a govt agency to serve ALL?
I can't detect any bona fides they have acquired (management degrees and the like) to suggest they're at all capable. The only desire Mr Sherrod has, according to the clip, is to smoke out whites and Uncle Toms.

Good for Anderson Cooper! It's about time SOMEONE—ANYONE—in the MSM reported on a story FROM ALL SIDES, rather than a slanted-version of what really happened and what was really said. Hopefully, we'll see more of TRUE journalism from others in the MSM.
