The advocates masquerading as objective journalists at Politico are aggressively trying to change the narrative and make the 2010 election cycle about the character of individuals in the GOP and not the track record of the Obama administration. Although the Democratic Party itself nominated Alvin Greene, undoubtedly the offest-beat candidate in this election cycle, elected screwballs such as Alan Grayson and Al Franken to their first terms just two years ago, and is still home to ethically-challenged Congresspeople like Rangel and Maxine Waters, Politico plays the politics of personal destruction with the current Republican nominees. All in a day’s work for the Democrat-Media Complex!
Does Harry – How Can Hispanics Vote For Republicans? — Reid count as offbeat? Or what about the creep in New Hampshire who wished Sarah Palin would get incinerated in a plane crash inferno? (This just in — he resigned.)
Now, the JournoListas at Politico have a distinguished track record of suspending disbelief to rush dirt on the GOP to press, so there aren’t any shocking revelations here. But there are unintended consequences for this kind of advocacy reportage. By painting targets on the backs of these Republicans, Politico has painted another on itself.
Because while the JournoListas at Politico have erected an impressive new-media infrastructure, with their militant left-bias and eagerness to slime conservatives, they are proving to be nothing more than the old media with better graphics.

Of course they are trying to change the narrative to the Republicans. If the narrative remains on the Democrats, they are history come November. If the media can shift the narrative to the Republicans, they may be able to salvage a few seats so you know the lefty media will do what ever they can to take the focus off the Democrat's problems.

I copy each story on jouro-list from Breitbart and then paste it on their site and leave a simple comment like, this is why I quit coming to this site for news.

Illegal immigration does not benefit Hispanics currently here and I have no doubt that many of those, if not all, that have come here legally resent their brethren who just jumped the fence. Illegal immigration depresses wages creating a race towards the bottom, it eliminates jobs for legal Americans and it lowers the quality of life for all citizens from overcrowded and dysfunctional public schools to overburdened emergency room and clinics driven out of business due to treating non-paying illegals. Not to mention godforsaken traffic.
What we have is a societal breakdown and the federal govt instead of addressing the hard issues and making the necessary decisions such as decreasing the size and scope of govt by 1/3 and returning many of the decisions back to the states, would rather drive us into financial ruin to maintain an unsustainable lifestyle [looking at you public sector unions] by printing $$, borrowing or stealing it from the taxpayer.

The story about that politician in N.H. foolishly wishing ill of Palin.. and resigning thereafter, is among the most read stories on Politico.com. Reid's whining about some Hispanics going for the GOP is on the site too, and that was put there on the 11th, before Marlow did this post. I'm sorry, but I don't see the evil liberal bias here.

Politico is affiliated with the Washington Post, the newspaper that's currently engaged in a surge to beat the NY Times for Democrat party advocacy.
Pointing out a couple of stories that tepidly report Democrat misdeeds doesn't absolve them from the majority of their stories that blatantly shill for Dems. I don't give a hoot who owns them, their reporting is biased, ugly and their affiliation with WaPo slashes their credibility to shreds.

The article in Politico states: "Primary voters are again and again choosing offbeat candidates shunned by national party strategists and imperiling potential Republican gains this November in the process." Maybe the Republican Party leadership might get the message that we are tired of the "moderate" candidates they choose to push on us. We want true conservatives, with the guts to stand up for true conservative principles. We don't want moderate candidates who walk across the aisle to sit on Barney's lap or cave in to the media and the hate rhetoric that their opponents spew. A good politician does not have to be a lawyer or anyone who can argue what the meaning of "is" is. He needs to represent the will of his constituents and keep our government limited in powers and as small as possible while being HONEST. Lying, deceit, and hidden dealings all need to go. Coalitions and caucuses need to be abolished. Represent your people and no one else!

What's more is that illegal immigrants from Mexico don't want to be made legal because then they'll find themselves in direct competition for jobs with not only the citizenry, but a new throng of illegals. If they have to work for the same wages as everyone else, they won't be able to find work like everyone else. In addition to that, the Democrats have overwhelmed the system to the point where our freebie social programs are bankrupt, so they'll be in the same boat there too. The only hope for families of illegals is to vote for economic freedom and the free market. Otherwise, no jobs and no welfare for anyone.

I'm reading this righty blog, aren't I? And I make periodic visits to Big Hollywood every so often to look at pop culture from a more conservative perspective. I have visited several of the sites that you're talking about (I can't get most of the printed version, and I like the web better anyway). I've also looked at Forbes, taken a glance at Townhall, and have read some HotAir. So contrary to what you may think, I am not indoctrinated and am well capable of thinking for myself.
Now here are some challenge for you: Why don't you go to intelligencesquaredus.org and take a look at some of the many debates that have been shown on there between right, left, and God knows what other position? Why don't you go to Politifact, a non-partisan site that fact checks the veracity of statements by the greatest of politicians, including Obama? Why don't you go to Newsy.com, which aggregates video clips from different news and opinion sources to show multiple perspectives on the same story? And why don't you look at the website of the non-partisan Taxpayers for Common Sense to shed some light on where govt is spending the people's money? I've always found that the more news and opinion sources I can get my hands on, the less likely I am to suckered by an individual's bias.
Oh, and by the way, I don't typically read Politico.

Here's your first clue: advertising itself as "non-partisan" is in itself a red flag. For example, the "non-partisan Politifact site" is actually a project of the St. Petersburg Times. Having lived in that area, I can assure you that paper is a lefty rag best suited to line a canary cage. I wouldn't assign my fact checking responsibilities to an agenda driven operation like that.

The "non-partisan Taxpayers for Common Sense" is not very non-partisan, and it doesn't have much to do with taxpayers concerns. It is an environmental lobbying organization. Its board of directors are from the Western Conservation Foundation (who claim they advocate for conservation in public policy); the Project on Goverment Oversight (which sounds good, but is funded by the Clinton Fdn (Bill's not so non-partisan), the Open Society Institute (run by George Soros who's not so non-partisan either), Common Cause, the League of Conservation Voters (who are seeking "green donations" for the campaign funds of Barbara Boxer, Harry Reid, Mike Bennett and Robin Carnahan, lefties, one and all), The Threshold Fdn (they say they are a "Progressive Environmental Group); Evolve Strategies (their mission is "to support progressive causes, candidates, etc .); and Stateline Energy (their mission is to promote green energy.)

Now if you honestly believe that by getting info from the "non-partisan Taxpayers for Common Sense" makes you less likely to be suckered by "bias", you're kidding yourself. If you actually DO believe that these progressive leftist positions ARE "middle of the road", you are truly lost. Based on your comments, it's clear that you think this site delivers objective data. It doesn't. Not only that, you don't seem to be discriminating enough to recognize it. It's usually not necessary to go through the board of directors and funding operations to determine when you're being bs'd. I'd also suggest that going to "multiple sites" for "different perspectives" isn't worth much when you can't effectively determine when you're being had.
