Kevin L. Martin

Kevin L. Martin was raised in the Washington D.C. area and attended school in Prince George’s County Maryland. Upon graduation, Kevin attended Prince George’s Community College for several semesters moving onward to Southern University in Baton Rouge La., which lead to a seven year enlistment in the U.S. NAVY.

After departing from a distinguished and dedicated career in Naval Service, Mr. Martin along with his family and wife opened a private sector business in Washington D.C.

Mr. Martin is a strong believer in conservative values and sees education as the most important civil rights issue facing our community today. A supporter of school choice for all, Mr. Martin rejects the notion that a quality education should only be afforded to politicians and their lackeys.

Mr. Martin has served as an advisor to National Center for Public Policy Research’s Project21 for more than a decade, having contributed to press releases and commentaries, appeared in old and new media and on several panel discussions ranging from grassroots activism to race relations on behalf of Project21. He considers both major political parties contributors to the problem with their massive spending and lack of clear ideas.

Mr. Martin is a conservative pundit and has appeared on FOX News, CNN, MSNBC, Press-TV and others media outlets.

The Mainstream Media knows full well that President Obama and his Democrat Brand happens to be in deep trouble heading into the 2012 elections, so they must find a GOP Candidate that is so unpalatable that Conservatives will find the candidate difficult to swallow and either stay home or vote third party, thus ensuring a second term for Obama and holding on to the Senate. Enter Jon Huntsman.

The MSM is praying that it can once again dupe Conservatives as they did in 2008 with John McCain, who most honest Conservatives like me could not vote let alone stomach because he was no true Conservative, no matter how hard he tried to sell himself as one. Knowing that McCain was a one trick pony they have sought out Huntsman for 2012 and will try to portray him as a Reaganesque figure. Unlike Reagan, Huntsman has evolving views on important social issues such as civil unions, man-made global warming, cap and trade and abortion rights that can appeal to voters across the board in the 21 Century. We will be inundated with puff pieces and push polls on his business experience and ability to work with our largest foreign debt holder China on issues of jobs and trade since he was Obama’s pick as Ambassador to China up until recently, which alone earns he has the experience to bring us out of the Great Recession.

The MSM will also actively search for establishment inside the beltway RINO’s to praise Huntsman as a conscience building candidate, who is moderate enough to pick up disgruntled Democrats and Independent Voters, who have soured on the Obama Brand in the last 3 years. Paid Political Pundits will actively boast that he is the GOP’s one best chance of taking back the White house in 2012 since Obama has proven himself to be a centrist during Presidency as he has been willing to work with Republicans on key issues.

Last week, Miami New Times Blogger Kyle Munzenrieder accused Matt Drudge of trying to stroke racial flames for reporting the facts in the news.

Mr. Munzenrieder is upset because Drudge linked to stories that reported the violence surrounding the Miami Beach Urban Weekend as part of a larger collection of links covering multiple incidents of youth related violence that gripped such cities as Boston, Nashville, Charlotte, and Rochester over the Memorial Day weekend.

Munzenrieder decried Drudge because some of the incidents in question involved Blacks and gangs, stating in his blog that he thought that covering such story was “kinda racist.” Munzenrieder went as far as to offer a quote a racial Gawker conspiracy theory: “since the president of the United States is a black man, and since black voters tend to align with his party, it is to the advantage of the Republican Party and its allies to inculcate fear and apprehension about people who look like him. Hence the top stories on the Drudge Report today.”

Mr. Munzenrieder is entitled to his opinions and theories–no matter how farfetched they may be–but to accuse an editor of racism for reporting the facts in the news is the sign of a sick mind. (more…)

I am almost sure that when former Alaska Governor and 2008 GOP Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin goes home at night, she laughs herself silly at how well she can play the mainstream media on a daily basis.

Last weekend was Memorial Day and most Americans took time to remember the sacrifices of fallen veterans and celebrated the unofficial start of summer. Memorial Day weekend is also the weekend that the activist group “Rolling Thunder” holds its annual rally in Washington D.C. to keep the public attention focused on the issue of POW/MIA. In recent years the mainstream press has simply ignored “Rolling Thunder” for the most part and the annual gathering has often been relegated to local news coverage or C-SPAN at best, but this year’s gathering got a public relations shot in the arm by the name of Sarah Palin.

Members of the mainstream media once again seemed to go nuts when Palin announced, through a press release, that she and her family would be attending the rally as the starting point of her East Coast bus tour. Some in the media speculated this is a prelude to a Presidential run. MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell carried out the first hatchet job on the Palin’s appearance by trying to convince her viewers that Palin would draw attention away from the meaning of the Washington D.C. rally and brought on Rolling Thunder Spokesmen Ted Shpak to reinforce her point:

While the Palin detractors saw this as an attempt to steal the spotlight, many members of Rolling Thunder were actually quite please by her appearance and in the end she simply rode on the back of one of the thousands of motorcycles along with members of her family.  She left without speaking to the gathering or engaging in political grandstanding. The Mainstream Media (MSM) has circled the wagons around the Obama Administration Officials as the Middle East descents into chaos.

Some members of the MSM are expressing concern on how the populist uprisings in the Middle East will directly and personally affect the Obama Presidency, which many of them had proclaimed days earlier was back with a swagger following his State of the Union Address to the nation.

Media Pundits have sought to put the best possible spin on President Obama often incoherent and gibberish like response to the mass protest that swept across Egypt as common citizens taken to the streets seeking to put an end to the rule of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. From Algeria to Yemen, common citizens have rose up in their demands for reforms, greater freedoms from oppression and a end to government corruption in recent weeks as the Obama Administration has pretty much quietly watched from a distance.

Some of the same members of the media, who once sold us on the idea of President Obama being a post racial and post partisan President more than two years ago, are demanding that he gets tougher with his political opponents or in their words, “act black” in order to save his presidency.

The left is now embittered because the card house that is Obama has crashed in upon itself, leaving him no other choice, but to comprise with congressional republicans in order to avoid gridlock and move forward on his agenda.

Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and others are demanding that he get tough and refuse to work with congressional Republicans after the American public soured on the direction of the nation under his Presidency along with a Democratic Congress. Bill Maher wants to see the CEOs of major corporations such as BP bullied into subjugation by Obama and quoted as saying at the height of the Gulf oil spill, “That Obama needed to start acting black” by calling in the head of BP into the Oval Office and brandishing a pistol and swearing at him in order to speed up the pace of the cleanup efforts.

The Mainstream Media (MSM) has gone “Missing in Action” as the TSA institutes it new comply or don’t fly rules.

The Progressive Opinion-makers such as Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and others have fallen silent against these new rules and were the nightly appearances by all those drive-by Constitutional Scholars and Experts from places like Harvard and Georgetown Law raging against this gross violation of our basic civil rights and liberties as they did against any renewal Patriot Act several years ago during the Bush Era.

Don’t expect much reporting in the MSM as many believe that they were responsible for getting this current administration elected to office and agree with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s statement that “Americans must comply with this new form of supposed enhanced security in order to fly.” This is why they are not reporting on public outrage at the TSA for its new requirement of groping Men, Women and Children in our public use airports all in the name of security. Yet Napolitano has stated recently she is willing to have her officers make exceptions for women of the Muslim faith.

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz wants to silence Rush Limbaugh for being accurate in his assessments of the infighting for the # 2 position within the Congressional Democrat Caucus.

Schultz even went as far as to accuse Limbaugh of racism for pointing out that Congressional Democrats would seek a compromise before their infighting became too public by simply create a completely photo-op position for James Clyburn D-SC. Schultz sought to give his ranting and raving legitimately by inviting the likes of Al Sharpton and Congresswoman Shelia Jackson-Lee, to attack Limbaugh’s often humorous assessment of the whole thing.

Limbaugh was completely on point when it came to the fact that Clyburn would be appointed to some made-up position within the leadership caucus to give Americans the allusion that the Democrats are still diverse in their make up after the Tea Party Movement propelled a record number of minority candidates to local, state and federal offices during the midterm election.

The American Public has come to know firebrand Reverend Al Sharpton as the #1Black Leader in the media.

Sharpton has billed himself as the voice of fairness, balance and authority, when it comes to the issues racial injustice in the Black Community, while boasting he is unafraid to debate anyone about the merits, yet unknown to many Al Sharpton is actually afraid to debate one man and that man happens to be Project21’s Chairman Mychal Massie.

Massie has put out several calls and letters to debate Sharpton on the issues of race relations, big activist government and the tea party movement, yet Sharpton and a whole host of other self-appointed Black Leaders are either unwilling or unable to debate the issues, yet they are willing to hide behind members of the press, who will allow them to filibuster and control as well as edit the segments in their favor.

I believe like many in the media Sharpton is simply afraid he would be unable to think on his feet and present his arguments logically against an Intelligent Conservative of Color, thus he would rather pretend that Massie does not exist.

With less than six weeks to go before the mid-term elections, the MSM is now trying to generate sympathy and fear among a targeted electorate hoping it will allow President Obama and the Democrats to retain power in the Senate.

Who is that targeted electorate, you ask? Blacks, Hispanics, gays and those remain stalwart Progressives, who normally turnout in mass for Presidential elections, but skip mid-term and off year elections.

From MSM to minority radio, Progressive activists would have you believe that this President and his party have worked so hard to move America forward from the Bush and Republican years, but recent battles with Congressional Republicans and the prolonged recession have taken a unfair toll on the popularity of this President and his Congress, now they needs our sympathy and votes and not be held accountable or face any skepticism after only two years in power.

Take CNBC’s recent presidential Town Hall meeting as an example. The town hall was well scripted and in reality was suppose to be President Obama’s “I feel your pain moment,” for the masses, but the questions were pre-screened and the President’s body language and answers were a full indication he was ready for what were suppose to be off-the-cuff questions by supposedly middle class Americans. The venom bubbling below the visible anger of MSNBC’s three nightly hosts —  Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow — was unmistakable after President Obama’s speech, in which he praised former President Bush and the brave troops who gave their all to get us to this point.

For those like Matthews, Olbermann and Maddow, President Obama’s admission is a defeat for their network, which spent the last seven years of Operation Iraqi Freedom seeking to undermine the mission there through hearsay, spin, lies and general misinformation. Olbermann and Maddow, who have basically built their careers by fanning the flames of the public discontent, were visibly shaken; they had once proudly professed that Iraq was a lost effort from the start, yet through it all the fine men and women of the military, some giving life and limbs, were able to secure victory and thus spell the leftists’ defeat.

The venom rest in the fact that President Obama, a President many of them feel they help get elected, would praise the former President Bush – whom Olbermann and Maddow detest to his core — would receive public praise from one of their own for standing behind those troops that lead the surge efforts in Iraq. Keith Olbermann in his drive to be the champion of the Progressive Left and defender of all things, “President Obama and Democrats,” erroneously reported there is a Mosque in the Pentagon recently as a majority of American expressed their opposition to a possible community center/mosque at New York’s Ground Zero.

cow

A mosque within the Pentagon, wait let me check the Constitution quickly; is there is something in there about separation of Church and State? (Actually, no, but there is Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists, which has always been good enough for the left.)  I am also checking to see when military leaders endorsed one religion over another one — quick someone call Speaker Pelosi — there needs to be Congressional hearings into this!

Keith, I keep checking and can’t seem to find any media releases or official military documents about this mosque at the Pentagon. Could it be that the all powerful and smarter-than -hou Keith Olbermann was actually wrong on an issue and thus has become this week’s “Worst Person in the World?” (more…)

It seems that some within the Mainstream Media have been trying to send the American public a clear message, “It is time for you to get over the 9-11 attacks.”

A majority of Americans have always seen the attacks of 9-11 as being on par with the attack upon Pearl Harbor since the dual attacks happened within our nation.

The members of the Mainstream Media always saw the attacks as the defining moment of the much-hated Bush Presidency. Now that another of President Obama’s teachable moments has blown up in his face, some of the Mainstream Media have sought to portray the growing opposition to a Community Center/ Mosque, two blocks from Ground Zero as an issue of racism and religious freedom.

ground zero mosque

From the Daily Kos to Fox news Contributor Bob Beckel, 9-11 victims, first responders and Americans have been attacked for not supporting the project and/or not simply getting over the attacks some nine years later. The Daily Kos went as far as to compare car accidents to 9-11 boasting that, “It was only 3,000 people come on, as more people die in car accidents yearly! (more…)

Last night I took a sickening trip into the Alternative Progressive Universe that is MSNBC and settled in to the orbit of Planet Olbermann with its toxic and hate-filled atmosphere.

keith-olbermann-and-globe

If you ever have the chance to visit Planet Olbermann on any given night, you have to suspend all rational thoughts or beliefs on this mostly dead planet. Olbermann sought to boost his argument that Israel’s boarding of a so-called Peace Flotilla was somehow illegal and to support this, he brought on a satellite (Carter-Era Ambassador), Edward Peck. In falling within the gravitational pull of Planet Olbermann, Peck said that he was on a smaller boat in the supposed Peace Flotilla and that Israelis commandos stepped aboard the ship. As he spoke, Olbermann played video of Israeli commandos boarding the another ship via helicopter and being attacked by so-called activists. Nowhere in Peck’s five minutes of unabated rambling did Olbermann disagree with Peck’s notion that Israel does not even exist, as Peck referred to the region both as Gaza and Palestine.

Much as the dinosaurs of earth’s past died out to due to changes in their environment, the old media of TV, newspapers and reports are finding it hard to adapt to the changes in the environment of the new media.

One of the true dinosaurs of the old media, Helen Thomas, recently lashed out at the new media and the fact that a majority of Americans now get their news, information and opinions from the new media, which happens to include talk radio, the internet, bloggers and video from camera cell-phones. Ms. Thomas also seems upset by the fact that a White House she strongly supports no longer looks to the White House press corps to get its message out as this White House uses Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to advise its supporters and friendly pundits.

Helen-Thomas-Bill-Clinton

Ms. Thomas has been on the White House beat since the days of Jack Kennedy and, like the dinosaurs, Ms. Thomas refuses to adapt to the changes in the American public’s taste for information, news and opinion. Ms. Thomas complains that there is no accountability in the new media, that “everyone with a laptop thinks that he/she is a reporter, those with cell-phones believe they are photographers and that the opinions of these people can ruin the lives of public and political figures.” (more…)

There is a citizen-reporter video currently making its way around the web of a group of  gay veterans, who handcuffed themselves to the fence in front of the White House in a call for the repeal of the military’s policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.” The most chilling part of this citizen video is that the police chose to close Lafayette Park and forced any reporters and citizens away from the protest. When I saw this video, I had to check my atlas as I thought I lived in Washington D.C. in the United States, not Pyongyang in North Korea!

It seems that, with the current regime, patriotic dissent that was once hailed has now become a crime in America; if you engage in it, you will be tarred and feathered. Remember the audio of Hillary Clinton screeching that as Americans we have the right to disagree with an administration, yet I don’t expect her to comment on this incident as she is carrying out the regime’s top foreign policy of destroying Israel.

President Obama and his regime (to use Rush Limbaugh’s mot juste) have made the repeal of the policy an agenda item, but gay-rights activists feel the president has not moved fast enough, and these same activists heckled Obama at a fundraiser in California for Senator Barbara Boxer Monday night:

A Navy Chief once told me that close only counts in three things: horseshoes, hand grenades and area-effect weapons. Now, when it comes down to how the mainstream media tried to portray members of the Tea Party they did not come “close.”

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past year, America has witnessed a popular uprising of people who have grown concerned by the massive power grab by President Obama and his allies in Congress, who have tried to cram “activist government” down our throats, while leaving the bills to our kids, grandkids and their children’s children.

When the grassroots efforts of the Tea Party Movement first took hold in the early days of the Obama regime, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismissed the movement as “Astroturf,” disheartened Republicans and racists, who could not accept a bi-racial man as President. The mainstream media and Democrat activists, taking their orders right from the Speaker’s office, tried to portray the political debate as being solely based on President Obama’s race and not the policies of an overreaching government. A close friend of mine has sent me the link to Daryle Jenkins‘ rather long winded and mish-mash editorial on the events surrounding my appearance at the Leadership Institute in 2006.

The public knows that conservatives will rail against racist charges against any white person that doesn’t have a “D” next to their name. They do it just as much as they attack Blacks and Hispanics for being racist for making some remark that they spin into something that it is not. Oh, and let’s not forget how Robert Byrd is excoriated for being a Klansman sixty years ago (even though it didn’t matter until they had to find a way to defend Trent Lott from a racist charge), and Harry Reid for his recent comments about Barack Obama – in his support for Obama’s successful campaign to become the first African American President of the United States.

One People’s Project will continue its mission of exposing the racists trying to run things, no matter how much they try to conceal their intentions, thinking they are fooling everyone. Kevin Martin may still be used to that end, but as we have seen in the past it is not going to work. We have seen people of color embrace racists before, so propping a black person up to absolve a racist of sin is going to be seen as even more of an insult. But that’s what these people do. The racism issue is a real one, and one that this particular element among conservatives is most culpable of. They have been caught, and they are going to continue to spin themselves dizzy, call everyone names and throw temper tantrums at prominent conventions.

Then they will go away.

I felt I had to write this as I have taken part in nearly every Freedom Concert Tour since Sean Hannity and Col. Oliver North have been promoting them over the last few years.

Kings Island Freedom Concert 0734

First of all my late father was promoter of disco bands back in the 1970’s, so I do have a bit of insight into events and the behind scene cost of putting on events that the general public will never know.

While Hannity and North have publicly stated that most of the artists involved in the Freedom Concert Tour donate their time to the effort in supporting the mission of the Freedom Alliance, the small things like air-conditioned buses, catered food and bottle water don’t exactly come for free, along with transport of the bands equipment, band and their family members, security, crowd and traffic control. Simply put, I guess there are a few people out there who believe Charlie Daniels, Governor Perry or Larry “The Cable Guy” are suppose to stand in the hot sun eating ham sandwiches and drinking from juice boxes until they are ready to go on stage. Then there of course is the cost for getting a venue for the 1,000s of supporters who come to these concerts along with their families and invited guests, the pre- and post-show clean up, workers involved such as ticket issuers, ushers and others. Even as America comes to the grips with the terrorist attack that took place at Fort Hood, it seem that Major Nidal Malik Hasan’s unindicted co-conspirator, “political correctness,” has yet again claimed the lives of innocent Americans.

It seems that Hasan’s superiors were well aware of his fascination with radical Islam as junior officers grew more concerned with his attitude and radical ramblings, yet rather than confront or investigate Major Hasan, his superior at Walter Reed took the politically correct way out and simply transferred this disgruntled officer to another command to be someone else’s problem.

Those superiors, who simply washed their hands of Hasan rather than investigate him, are just as guilty as Hasan himself. However this is not the first and will not be the last time that political correctness will claim the lives of Americans.

You see, according to those, who believe in political correctness, Americans no matter what our color or gender are guilty of something and any investigation into Hasan would have been dismissed as our government going after another innocent Muslim American, no matter the evidence to show otherwise or a possible real threat. In the mindset of these people our behavior has to be corrected and enlighten, so their vision of America can come true. (more…)
