Some of you may have read the article by Krissah Thompson recently in the Washington Post entitled “Some black conservatives question tea party’s inclusiveness.” The article received play on Drudge, follow-up coverage by three networks, countless leftist blog links and 409 direct article comments online. Thompson’s piece was hailed by the Post as a “must read” and Thompson as an “intrepid journalist concerned with the principle of the issue.”
Just one question- did any one even read the article? The inflammatory thesis that the Tea Parties are “non-inclusive” is based upon one interview with a Tea Party Participant from Harlem who said:
it’s become more of this rally of hate. The tea party leaders should apologize on behalf of the irresponsible comments that were made.
Naturally. So give us the evidence please. Give us one photo, one quote, one video of your supposed “hate rallies” or “irresponsible comments.” Some irresponsible comments have been shared on this site by Lloyd Marcus, but of course that would not prove the point. Luckily, I can save Ms. Thompson’s gaping credibility gap. Here is the long awaited video of “hate rallies” that do attack the president in a racist manner:
They call Thompson an “intrepid and balanced” journalist for scrounging one unsubstantiated quote. Does anyone realize Thompsons WaPo journalistic history includes articles entitled “D.C.’s High-Level Social Scene Now Mingles Black and Whites” wherein she quips:
… the all-white dinner party feels all wrong… (because)… for the first time the face of ultimate power is African American.
Following this logic, she would have to conclude that an all-black dinner party felt “wrong” during the Clinton presidency.
Thompson wrote 14 (!) Post articles about Harvard professor Skip Gates and Cambridge Police Sgt. James Crowley, whose much trumpeted altercation leading to the Obama beer summit. So where was Thompson when Leader Reid was praising Obama’s “light-skin” and lack of “Negro dialect”? Most likely doing research for her February 5, 2010 article “NAACP gives Reid an A in latest report card,” in which she mentions Reid’s racist remarks only fleetingly.

In a freak example of journalistic integrity, CNN reporter Shannon Travis describes a tolerant Tea Party experience:
[H]ere’s what you don’t often see in the coverage of Tea Party rallies: Patriotic signs professing a love for country; mothers and fathers with their children; African-Americans proudly participating; and senior citizens bopping to a hip-hop rapper. … It is important to show the colorful anger Americans might have against elected leaders and Washington. But people should also see the orange-vested Tea Party hospitality handlers who welcome you with colorful smiles.
There were a few signs that could be seen as offensive to African-Americans. But by and large, no one I spoke with or I heard from on stage said anything that was approaching racist.
Almost everyone I met was welcoming to this African-American television news producer.
All this from a reporter sent embedded in the rallies to find “nuggets of gold,” video and photos of tea partyers waving racist signs as Mediaite’s Tommy Christopher speculated.
Ward Connerly has famously noted that “when all else fails, the Left goes to the default position of using race to achieve its objectives.”
This is a playbook example; it’s just that the playbook is getting old.

Title says it all: Conservatives, Tea-Partiers Are Always Racists
nevermind the fact that we fought progressives tooth and nail to get civil rights laws passed and the progressives almost always filibustered them.
Shadow government….using their terms and playbook to justify their hatred. They are the 'party of hate' and they would just love to find someone of the TPM that would say the things in the above video. The left is deluded….the only divisive element in this country is the extreme left…they have grown to bold of late and it is the very element that will destroy their progress. Folks are seeing right through it and calling it for what it is….fascism.
From Moonbattery.com:
Racist: Someone who is winning an argument with a Democrat.
Torture: Any discomfort a terrorist complains about while a Republican is president.
Smear: The act of a Republican telling the truth about a Democrat. (see also, "Swiftboating")
The left are the ones who live and breath racism 24/7. It is impossible for them to imagine anyone who isn't constantly obsessing about race simply because that's what they do. It's a type of mental handicap.
Media has inconvenient memory problems don't they?
Yet it's the Democrats that keep black folk enslaved to the welfare system. Weren't the Democrats in control of the south during slavery too? Way to come full circle.
It's called selective memory. They select not to remember the things that make them look bad.
And you sound incredibly stupid, given that the article rebutted that statement. You'd know this too if you bothered to read it.
I despise anti-racist baiters as much as racists, and there are many more of the former (who are in fact racists).
READ: The left – made powerful ONLY through their decades long control of the media, now seeks to paint its opponents as racists. THE IRONY IS THAT IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA ALL OF THE IMPORTANT PLAYERS ARE WHITE. The only importance of that is to show the utter hypocrisy of these people.
Conservatives need to create their own media. Why did it take someone from Australia to realize that selling to conservatives is a money making proposition? We need more a dedicated conservative news outlet – heck with "Fair and Balanced" – we need "Freedom News" – news for and by conservatives. And we need our own entertainment as well. In the meantime we AVOID the mainstream media, especially Hollywood.
THE CONSERVATIVE PLEDGE (1) SUPPORT tea party/conservatives causes with TIME AND MONEY (2) CONVINCE your neighbors, friends and loved ones to join the cause (3) AVOID 'progressive' media (4) TUNE IN to conservative media (5) WRITE/CALL/SEE your representatives, from Senator on down even if they are in the Democrat party (6) SPEAK OUT against what's going on and, finally (&) PASS ALONG this message of being involved. IT'S GOTTA BE NOW OR ITS GONNA BE NEVER!
"Following this logic, she would have to conclude that an all-black dinner party felt “wrong” during the Clinton presidency."
Bzzzzzzt! But thanks for playing the game, Benny!
You are forgetting that Bill Clinton, not Barack Obama, was "the first black president."
I live to serve. lol.
Like all Muslims are terrorists?
I've attended one tea party meeting (due to lack of time, not interest). The guest speaker was a black woman campaigning before the Republican primary for state representative. She was heartily welcomed by all, and appeared to win the support of those in attendance (including me). (And eventually won the primary, despite the endorsement of her (white male) opponent by the local media.)
This happened in Texas (MSM codeword for racist), to boot.
The Emperor is naked, and looks like a tubercular chicken.
"In a freak example of journalistic integrity", LMAO… Classic! They are rare and hard to find…(the truth from the Drive-Bys)
And you sir are a jackass
OMG…a tubercular chicken! That my friend its priceless!
We are not interested in words the left uses to describe us.
We want action.
We are no longer intimidated
Why do we chase the drive by media as though we were children waiting for approval from a grumpy parent? Screw em I say, lets not give them the power to encore our anger . They don't deserve that amount of respect. We've larger fish in the skillet.
Hic puer stultissimus omium – Ex luna!
All a pickpocket sees is pockets.
All a racists sees is racism. Racism everywhere.
The biggest group of racists are Margaret Sanger progressives who want to abort all black babies.
The next biggest group of racists are the blacks.
The next biggest group of racists are self-hating Jews, who hate blacks and real Jews and hate Israel.
The next biggest group of racists is "La Raza" a self-admitted group of hispanic racists.
There are no Jesus-loving Christians who are racist. None.
On what idiot planet does ONE example translate to "often are"? And really? Think Progress is your source? Your ignorance is outweighed only by your stupidity.
progressive/liberal hate list…

Racism will always exist. It always has existed. The more and more the race card is played against a majority of people who are in fact, not racist, the more it begins to stick in the minds of people who don't know any better. This country is divided and on the edge of a knife. I honestly fear for its future.

Particularly on the pitcher's mound.
24/7 … except for Chris Matthews, for him it's 23/7.
FG, you nailed it.
Let me get this straight. The Progressives have the only member of the KKK in their ranks. That is Robert KKK Byrd. Conservatives don't , and got rid of David Duke when he tried to be identified as such. Conservatives are racist alright!
the only danger to this republic is the "JOURNALIST"
That video so puts to rest the libpros hypocritical rants about the tea party people.
They must all have medical marijuana prescriptions … or they're in need of one.
Except that you left out the IMPORTANT part of the title: "MSM Default position".
Thank you for a great demonstration of Progressive duplicity. (And sorry I used big words! I know they make you sad!)
RACIST! Do you hate jews, too, or just blacks and hispanics, racist?
Says the white guy calling himself "Jamal"
Am I the only feeling more and more pushed to the point when I finally go the eff off on these pieces of crap they're not going to know what hit 'em?
Yesterday i did work for a lady who said she was a socialist. She said all the Tea Party people were racists. When I asked how many she knew, she said none but she KNOWS the code words. Which code words I asked. She said, "States rights, all that means is the racists are against integration of the schools '. WOW !! I told her I thought the left was more racist. She said why. I said because you see everything through the prism of race. Her reply, " Everything IS in the prism of race ".. So who is the real racist?
So what you're saying is that amongst progressives he's a maverick?
Next time link to a more centered site, like… Media Matters or HuffPo or damn it all, DailyKOS.
I lived most of my life caring about who people were, not what color. Most everyone I knew had the same attitude. I had met 2 racists in my life. I thought racism was in the past. After the past few years I know it still lives in the hearts and minds of liberals, and because they are obsessed with it they see it everywhere they look.
Who's the racist? YOU DAVE! Its always you.
on a more serious note, if you where working for a socialist,
then you should have refused to work,
and instead insisted that she simply redistribute her wealth to you!
If she lives by her principles then she would have had no choice but to comply.
People need to be leary of using the term racist everytime they don't like someones view point. There is racism in the world and it's wrong, but when you call someone a racist just to get them to sit down and shut up it ruins the word. We all remember the story of the boy who cried wolf. He called out wolf in order to get attention so many times that people stopped listening to him. Then one day a wolf did show up and he yelled out that there was a wolf, but no one came to help him because no one believed him anymore. Stop using word racist when it's not true or people are going to stop believing legitimate claims of racism.

The Tea Party is not concerned about race. They will support anyone that belives in smaller government, less taxes, actually following the Constitution and obeying the will of the people. Democrats are the ones that have to pigeon-hole everyone and define them by race, color, disability, etc.
It's not that all tea-partiers are racists, but they often are: http://thinkprogress.org/2010/04/12/tea-party-rac...
Of course racism knows no ideological bounds. There are racists on the left and right. The bottom line is that if people dont like it when they are called racist, they should stop being racists. Instead of just calling the other side racist, let's eradicate the racism within our own ranks, on all sides.
Racism will always exist. It always has existed. The more and more the race card is played against a majority of people who are in fact, not racist, the more it begins to stick in the minds of people who don't know any better. This country is divided and on the edge of a knife. I honestly fear for its future.

A new Houston, Harris County Group was formed recently. There is:
1) Houston Police Officers Association,
2) Mexican American Police Assoc.'
3) African American Police League and, now,
4) Caucasian Police Officer Association.
Guess which one has been labeled "racist"?
Ha ha ha ha ha
And all Germans are Nazis.
"The bottom line is that if people dont like it when they are called racist, they should stop being racists."
Convenient definition, that. It assumes that the only people being called "racist" are actually racist.
I'm opposed to preferring one person over another on the basis of their skin color — that gets me called a racist. I'm in favor of people enjoying the rewards of their hard work — that gets me called racist. I'm in favor of people paying for their mistakes — that gets me called racist. I'm in favor of people obeying the law — that gets me called racist. I'm in favor of government leaving people alone — that gets me called racist. I'm in favor of helping needy people based on their need — that gets me called racist. I'm in favor of a real education system — that gets me called racist.
I've seen people make blanket statements about an entire race of people — and not get called racist. I've seen people call for government favoring one group over another based on skin color — and not get called racist. I've seen people claim that EVERYONE with a particular skin color is guilty of a sin — and not get called racist. I've seen men incite riots targeting people on the basis of their skin color — and not get called racist.
Honestly, the only definition for "racist" that seems to work anymore is "standing in opposition to the left". It sure as hell doesn't mean anything about race.
I get so tired of the race card bull, i believe that there are racist whites and blacks but you dont here about that. Double Standard!!!
"There were a few signs that COULD be seen as offensive to African-Americans. But by and large, no one I spoke with or I heard from on stage said anything that was approaching racist."
Yes I capitalized the word COULD in the quote above. The man did not say CLEARLY, he did not say OVERTLY, he did not use the word WOULD.
This Reporter saw no other evidence that these sign holders intended what was written as offensive or racist, or even that they knew such writing COULD be taken as racist. Another words, he could not know what was in their hearts solely based on their sign.
SO A PASS MUST BE GRANTED.
Just like…..when Sen. Reid made his silly comments, or Sen Boxer's unfortunate and embarrassing display with The President of the National Black Chamber of Congress. and so on, and so on, and so on.
The bottom line is that if people dont like it when they are called racist, they should stop being racists.
Ah, the "you're guilty, CONFESS" method of debate.

Speaking as a supporter of Obama who isn't behind the Tea Party movement … I still have to say, that YouTube video from 2004 just makes me cringe. Benny, idealogically we may not agree — but you are absolutely right that any claims against the other side should be backed up with real evidence, and a lot of folks on both sides fail to do that.
Clean up America…Boycott known "Terrorist" Supporters ie: MSM/Progressive/liberal/the teaching elite media!!
Hmm lets see, why are tea baggers always racist

Gee, I don't know why ANYONE could possibly think tea partiers are racist, unless they are actually looking at tea partiers.
Wow can you see the sky from whatever padded cell they have you locked up in?
Yeah, its not the tea bagging republicans fault for acting based on race, its everyone elses fault for noticing the tea baggers act on race.
