This is an example of our real power, if we choose to use it…boycott back. Do not purchase, use, or associate yourself and dollars with any company, government that holds you in disdain. The money dries up, so will the attitude.
Boycott Apple! Who needs their over priced garbage other than people who have egos so weak that they MUST try to impress everyone around them constantly. That is what High School children do.

I always wondered that about the name of the Grateful Dead – if that name itself was an intentional slap against the Christian doctrinal view that the man is dead without Christ in him. It wouldn't surprise me.

The 'other half' is a metaphor referring to: Eve not listening to Adam, and people that don't share Jan's (the woman character) lefty politics-the half of the nation that voted against Obama-basically, a shitload of people.
Apple is not listening to half the population. A population that buy their product. Thus, the point.

That boycotting Fox is somehow not listening to half of the nation. That's plainly ridiculous. More people saw the latest Lady Gaga video than watched Fox all last year.
That's like saying because Rush Limbaugh doesn't advertise his show in "Oprah" magazine (which has an equivalent number of readers as Fox has average viewers), he's boycotting half of the country.
For every one person who watches Fox–hundreds of millions don't. And that includes tens of millions of people who voted against Obama.
Now the point you might have wanted to make–is Apple losing sales by not advertising on Fox? Well, Fox has a pretty slim demographic, with a median age of over 65, so who knows how many Macs they might have bought.
But I guess by your logic, they should suddenly lose half their sales. I guess we'll see!
I just talked to public relations at Apple. The operator told me that Apple has not announced boycott of Fox news, but she didn't deny that they might do it. She also said alot of people had called about this.

I have been a loyal Apple customer for many years, but I have to admit some of Apple's recent moves have struck me as remarkably boneheaded. Resigning from the US Chamber of Commerce over "global warming" policy, touting the chimera of corporate "greenness" as if it actually made any kind of difference, and now this. *Sigh*

I think the point is that half the people who pay attention listen to Fox. Then of course there is a good amount who don't waste their time on Fox and come to Bog Hollywood instead! Then of course there are those who only supplement their broader reading with Fox. That said, among the very large group who doesn't listen to Fox, there are less who listen to the others. Perhaps it would make you feel better if it were to say that half the people who can afford to drop $400 on a piece of crap electronic device for their kids listens to Fox? Either way, I think I agree with the sentiment above that nobody who knows better is buying Crapple products anyway.

Not about to toss my Mac in the garbage BUT there were some Apple extras and add-ons I thought about buying but now will definitely NOT.
I don't think they lose sales by not advertising, they lose sales by being obnoxious and boycotting. They've basically announced that they don't support a network's right to their own POV. On paper, taking ideology out of it, Fox News, and especially Beck, would be an excellent place to advertise. But they aren't because they're boycotting, making the statement that they are intolerant of various specific viewpoints. The reaction to that is what will lose them sales. If they just had chosen not to advertise with Beck and not made it a political statement, they most likely would have lost nothing.
And, yes, you are nit-picking with the purpose of distracting from the actual point. It's the left's way. Next you will point out grammatical errors. It's predictable, and definitely creepy in its cult-like across-the-community manifestation.
I have a an iBook and it's due to be replaced. I will probably buy another Mac. So far, I like the product, and after my 9-year-old daughter's PC started rapidly downloading porn on its own, I'm even more convinced I need to have the security of the Mac.
But I will make sure that the computer is used to further the free-market, conservative agenda. And, when I have any extra money, I will donate it to the campaigns of conservatives running against Democrats.
They are all leftists, but I'll use their products against them as much as I can.

Regarding the Apple Logo. Google "original apple logo" and look it over. It's clearly Sir Isaac Newton An apple fell and hit his head, spurred the whole gravity and newton's law thing. It has nothing to do with Adam and Eve.
Did Apple advertise on Fox prior to this boycott? Do they advertise with Fox News competitors? Seems to me a publicity stunt more than anything else. It's annoying and worth tweeking their noise for the foolishness but this is pretty tame stuff.
So, if your "point" is a desire for accuracy..what about "for every one person who watches FOX hundreds of millions don't"….we are still talking about "the country", right, and not worldwide?

Regardless, I would love to see what this does to Apple sales. If we really stand our ground and not purchase Apple products, that carries a huge message.

Apple has a small share of the market, and we should make that share go to zero. Apple won’t learn, just as the MSM isn’t learning – but they can be hurt by a good strong boycott.
One thing would be for anyone on TV using an Apple to put a line through the illuminated apple, or paint something more appropriate in its place.
