Since President Obama’s elevation to Intergalactic Superstar Caesar in November 2008, the media has been busy writing obituaries for the GOP. Most of these unwelcome mourners have offered nuggets of advice along the lines of, “Why don’t you try being more, you know, like us? More—what’s the term? Oh yes, more moderate. Conservatism is so last season.” The day after Obama’s election, the Huffington Post gleefully announced “GOP Civil War Begins[!!!!!!]”

Being the tenderhearted folks they are, the liberal MSM diagnosed the real problem for us: “[I]f there’s a real crisis in the House right now for the Republican Party, it’s the gradually diminishing voice of moderation.” Over a year later, MSNBC was still going strong with the GOP civil war theme, warning that an ideological purity test “threatens to derail moderate Republican candidacies in heated 2010 Republican primaries already underway.”
Obviously, there have been and are ongoing arguments about the direction of conservatism and the Republican party. The 2008 election would’ve shaken the confidence of Alexander the Great, had he been a political candidate instead of a slaughtering conqueror. But the media is missing the real story again. The story now isn’t the demise of the GOP moderate. It’s the sudden downfall of last season’s debutante, the “moderate Democrat.”
Think back to 2006 for a moment. That year, moderate Democrats were all the rage. The New York Times wrote a story on the conservative Democrats who were threatening Republican seats. That year, Heath Shuler defeated GOP incumbent Charles Taylor. Joe Donnelly took an Indiana district from GOP incumbent Chris Chocola. And in 2008, candidate Obama promised to move beyond red states and blue states.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the GOP moderate’s funeral. The post-partisan healer turned into The Thing That Ate The GDP. Faced with the prospect of NHS-style health care and death by a thousand T-bill cuts, discontent began to spread through the populace. What first seemed to be an isolated outbreak in the Southern backwoods turned into a pandemic that claimed victims as far away as the sacred ground of Massachusetts.

Democrat moderates saw their political careers begin circling the drain. Meanwhile, Republican moderates seem hale and hearty (the oleaginous Charlie Crist notwithstanding.)
This is what Obama has brought to his party. Instead of reducing the GOP to a rump party, formerly secure members of his own party are headed for the hills, pausing just long enough to leave a note. Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana is the perfect example. Considered a moderate by his party, he “started tacking to the right almost immediately after Obama’s election,” as the Huffington Post notes. He’s managed to win five statewide races in Indiana during his political career, a state that last year voted for the Democratic presidential candidate for the first time in decades. Yet he’s retiring. Why?
Former vice-president Dan Quayle, who formerly represented the Hoosier State in the Senate, notes that Bayh “tried to run for president, was passed over by Obama as a vice-presidential candidate, and he’s not in the Democratic Senate leadership . . . . “ In other words, the party of Barack Obama and Harry Reid doesn’t have room for Evan Bayh. Oddly enough, the party of Mitch McConnell and John Boehner does have room for Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe.
More important than the usual ejection of moderates from the Democratic party, though, is the political havoc Obama has wreaked on his own party members. Bayh is the fifth Democrat to announce his retirement from the Senate, and his announcement follows hard on the heels of Rep. Patrick Kennedy’s decision to retire. A friend in Indiana informs me that billboards with the message, “Don’t let Evan Bayh destroy jobs!” have sprouted along the interstates. Remaining Democrats are feeling vulnerable, particularly Blanche Lincoln and Harry Reid.

But is Obama giving them some cover? No way! Full steam ahead, baby, right over that electoral cliff. This lack of loyalty could be why Bayh waited until the day before the Indiana petition submission deadline to announce his retirement. Whatever the reason, Sen. Bayh, I thank you. And thanks to you too, Mr. President. Keep up the good work.

9 months to go. Who will be next? And all of this before the Blago tapes are released. What will happen after Democrats hear them?
The "progressives" want a civil war…
…in the streets of America.
When the time comes, know when and why to turn the other cheek to the violent left!
Excellent read!
Your leftist lemming assessment is well founded and it's been amusing watching the wheels come off the Democrat party.
And I have to say; I'd love to see a cartoon rendition of "But a funny thing happened on the way to the GOP moderate’s funeral. The post-partisan healer turned into The Thing That Ate The GDP." The imagery is just too awesome!
Liberal leftwing media: FAIL.
Had the liberal media bottom feeders given Hussein a fraction of the scrutiny they gave Governor Palin, President Bush and the Tea Partiers they would have uncovered tidbits like this about Hussein……….
"Oh My: College Acquaintance of Obama's Says That, in 1980, Obama Was a "Pure Marxist Socialist"
http://minx.cc/?post=298439
We know why the liberal cockroaches were calling Hussein a somewhat blank slate, that's because his true identity would have repulsed Americans. Let us not forget that Hussein was the only gutter rat in America to vote against the Infant Born Alive Protection Act.
Hussein is unfit to run a Taco Bell let alone the greatest nation in the history of mankind.
Would you expect dear leader to change? He only cares about himself and his plan to transform America.
The dems made the mistake of electing him, to their own end of career.
Good for America that their day of reckoning is coming in November.
You'd almost think Obama believes he can govern without a Congress…what's that form of government called again ?
TGS, it is my fervent hope that this is the one and only time a "pure Marxist Socialist" is elected to the Office of the President of the Unites States.
Equally, I hope that history marks this administration as the one time that such was elected only to have his policies defeated at every turn by a newly awakened American populous.
Americans have realized that since 2007 during the campaigning, they had been lied too. By the president and some of the media for no reason other than promoting their own agenda. America is tired of it. The newspapers have lost subscribers over it, and news outlets have lost viewership over it. The only media that is currently being watched, read or viewed are the programs such as FOX strictly due to the fact that they offer fair and unbiased stories. The media needs to look at itself and the way they report "facts". The public can't trust the government any longer and they sure as heck can't trust the media spewing the governments propaganda.
HuffPo were not the only ones to declare the death of conservatives. James Carville wrote a book that proudly proclaimed that the democrats would be in control for the next 40 years. When the Dems lose Congress in 2010 and Obama is booted out of the White House in 2012 what will lizard face Carville write about then?
WOW! Look at the progressive* Democrats scramble! It's like flipping on the light and seeing the cockroaches scurry for cover. Just a few months ago they were hurling "racist", "Nazi", "thugs", "teabaggers" and "Fox News" at any American who dared to disagree with them. Now it's "partisanship."
Bawney Fwank and Evan Bayh are whining about partisanship after months of ignoring Republicans, bribing Democrats and trying to ram the health bill down American throats. Even now they plot a Reconciliation vote for the Health Bill while Obama is considering an executive order to force his will on America.
KEEP THEM ON THE RUN AMERICA!

Corruption in Congress

An Obama-nation.
From your lips to God's ears.
Now that Americans have seen the full glory of liberalism on parade it may be 100 years before a democrat is ever elected President again.
Great column! Truth peppered with wit.
He'll say it was typo – was supposed to read " 40 weeks ".
It will be interesting to watch The One if the R's take one or both houses of Congress. Obama has shown zero political savvy in enacting his agenda. He has had the most lopsided majorities in at least a generation and he has failed to enact even a small part of his radicalism,(save for the stimulus bill). Will he finally learn on the job and moderate to achieve some victories for his presidency or will he stick to his radical views and go up in flames like a supernova. Will he get rid of the echo chamber in his politcal WH operation and hire a contrarian that may help save his presidency? Will he hire someone to tell him what leadership means and how to be an executive?
The "progressive" concept of "bipartisanship" means, go along with us or else…
They are completely unaware of what "cooperation" actually means…
They wanted to have some token Republican to buy their crap and thankfully the Republicans didn't oblige their one sided approach to governance!
And if that doesn't work, we can hunt them down like the parasitic vermin they are.
It seems to me politicians are taking their tips from the media instead of the people, hence the reason they are dropping like flies in both parties. The reason the GOP lost is because of the spending. Democrats tacked to the right on spending and won, and now they are losing because of the spending!
They really should cop a clue!
The goal is to avoid ever going there and allowing the people to see what they actually are but not to play into their twisted definition of who we are…
They should cause their own destruction with their continued hyperbole from the "progressive" darlings of the left.
The more Rosie Odonnell, Jeanene Garafolo, Michael Moore, Sean Penn, Danny Glover and George Clooney talk the better…
Their own words will convict them.
Drive them into the sea.
I'm hoping supernova. It is long past time to bury dead and failed liberal policies, not to mention shrink the over bloated obese Uncle Sam's waistline.
"Will he finally learn on the job and moderate to achieve some victories for his presidency or will he stick to his radical views and go up in flames like a supernova. No, no and no!

What we should all be aware of is that the Left is and has been very sneaky. Swept out of power? You can be sure that they will regroup and morph into something else and be back again in another seemingly innocent disguise. It remains for us to be vigilant and look at their whole movement as the enemy to freedom that it is. Especially, we need to take the offensive and thwart them at every turn because they will not go away, either soon or quietly.
One hundred percent agree, let THEM undo themselves, we don't need to help them in any way!
If somebody is going to be violent first, let it be the proggies and let them expose their true colors on their own we don't need to act like them to get our message across to America.
Conservatism is about truth and tolerance and we should continue that message even when we are attacked by the extremist lefties…
"Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers" just when i think i've heard all of his many, many nicknames, along comes yet another good one…
Unless I need to protect my family or myself. In that case it will be swift and sure.
Moderate Dems are bullied by Progressives and moderate Republicans are Progressives
it's a twofer- BHO is dragging the Dems off a cliff and every one has a media sycophant under each arm…
I agree, but where the Constitution is concerned, nothing is off the table.
He is also known in my many circles as "The Nut Sack In Chief"….
Te he!
"Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers"
Might have to borrow that one.
It takes a tougher person to smile when they are hit; but remember if you hit back, while you may gain some small pleasure, we will all lose. It comes to this. If I fall, though I may find this upsetting, one of you will take my place. But if I decide to fight with violence – I/we/you lose everything. My mother hit me because of alcohol, My father hit me because I deserved it – I lived – so will you. Hanging tough does not always mean hitting back.

Except for the quacking, the flying and the waddling I'm pretty sure he's a friggin' duck!
I've only got two cheeks. After that, I'm going medieval.
i once fought (and won!) a legal battle against a narcissist. you cannot reason with an unreasonable man.
10:1 odds he'll go with supernova.
i agree with you, missy85. though as violent as they may want to become, if they succeeded in picking a fight they’d lose, partly because most american liberals are trying to take our right to bear arms away. as a native texan, i proudly represent the “own as many guns as you want to” stereotype. second amendment baby! since obama’s election, firearm sales in america have skyrocketed.
The antics of the "Ds" over the past year speaks volumes about the degrees and moonbattery and douchebaggery which exist within the democrat party. The remind you af the female praying mantis … the last election was like the mating ritual and now they are eating their own.
We should maintain our cool as long as it is warranted but I do agree, "IF" they decided to go into a "full on shooting war" against the American people we would then be completely justified in defending ourselves…
I also see that some members of the media are beginning to turn on The One as are certainly much of the kook fringe. But in my opinion, the media trumpeted this man's candidacy like no other, even to the point of throwing Hillary under the bus just so they could wrap themselves up in their own moral superiority. Now that he has proven to be a clueless executive, will they continue to turn on him, or will any of them be brave enough to get introspective and critique their own role in this debacle? After all, the man had no experience, yet all they print or broadcast was how unprepared Sarah Palin was for the no. 2 job. Talk about an epic FAIL.
My very own (one-term) senator ran on a campaign of being a "moderate" and not a "Washington Democrat" like those "other guys". Yeah, right. As if a junior senator from Alaska is really going to be able to resist the pressure from his party bosses and stand up for what his constituients actually want. He has voted for every crazy socialist policy that has come down the pike and then has the audacity to explain it away in a press conference at home. Sorry dude, but moderate you are not, and even if you were, you're too much of a wet paper towel to stand up for your state. Can't wait until you're up for re-election.
Maintain your reserve as long as it is completely prudent but defend yourself when it is necessary…
Always be prepared for the worst case scenario!
That is a prudent approach but keep it civil on our side, let them do the stupid and unthinkable things first!
That's absolutely correct, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on you.." there is no reason that you should lie down to be kicked to death.
You will know what to do if the time comes.
Don't forget how the Bushes destroyed conservatism. Bush senior introduced the New World Order concept, NAFTA, and expanded welfare with "Earned Income Credit." Bush junior expanded welfare and destroyed Habaes Corpus via the Patriot Act. Rick Perry Texas Gov is ALGORE;s pal and wants the NAFTA North American Corridor takes will confiscate 584,000 acres of private land. The Republican partys is rife with socialist traitors and Sarah Palin is busy campaigning for two of them.
Take it away!
I share!
LOL
America, we don't take anyone's crap!
You mean "Democrat" moderates.
Well said!
Excellent Article, enjoyed reading it! Keep up the good work! Bayh needs some separation from the Messiah if he wants to run against him in 2012!! He got out just in time!
Right now, they're playing chicken with us, and we can't let them bully us into submission. We're on the right side of History, and if we give in, our grandchildren will be pissing on our graves.
AS I HAVE SAID BEFORE……….

NOTE TO DEMOCRATS…………..
Sometimes when you win…………you really lose………………..2010.
100% correct!
They will undo themselves and "IF" there's going to be a shooting match we will win and nobody will stand with them if people start dying because of them..
Let them stew, we are on the right side of history and time will prove that out.
Great summary! Moderate rhetoric gets 'em elected, and pandering to the far left keeps the media happy. Of course, they can't keep everyone happy! So what do they do? They find scapegoats! America isn't falling for that "It's all Bush's fault" line anymore. He wasn't perfect, but there was a Dem majority during 6 years of his presidency. WHERE WERE THEY??? And didn't ANY of the GOP notice that they spent themselves out of office?? So…acting like fiscal liberals gets politicians unemployed? I can't wait for the 2010 election to play out. I pray for "hope and change" for real, not just special effects, as Obama has tried to pull.
Jan 2009: Obama claims he will remake the World into a new Utopia, blames Bush for the World not being a Utopia already
Jan 2010: Obama blames Bush and the radical right for his failure so far to make the World into a new Utopia.
Jan 2011: Obama blames Bush and the radical right for Democrat's huge losses at the polls and his failure so far to make the World into a new Utopia.
Jan 2012: Obama blames the new Republican majorities in Congress for his failure so far to make the World into a new Utopia.
Jan 2013: Obama mournfully reflects on how Republican majorities in Congress and the radical right prevented him from making the World into a new Utopia. The new Republican President of the U.S. begins the real repair of America. The Democrats settle back into their comfortable role as the complaining minority party, blaming the fact that the world is not a new Utopia on the new Republican President of the U.S., the Republican Congress and the radical right. They begin again promising the voters that if they will just put them in power, the World will be a new Utopia.
They've gotten awful good at desensitization through incrementalism. I hope they're stupid enough to be blatant enough where they can be assigned the "due" guilt.
Consider it filched!
Don't forget "Nut Sack" in response to the use of the term "Tea Ba**er", let em' have it as regularly as is necessary!
Amen! Advocation of violence plays right into the "Progressives" hands. We cannot be the ones to advocate civil war. But we can stand up for ourselves. Martin Luther King's nonviolent approach is still the best way to go at this time. More Tea Party rallies! Bury the Congress with letters! Protest the MSM! I wonder what one of the morning news shows would do if there were thousands of protesters outside their window, protesting their political bias, and vowing to boycott their shows and sponsors!
What they always do Christen, increase the volume and the hate!
If we protested INSIDE of their offices maybe they would get the message more clearly, it seems to be the only thing the MSM responds to…
Missy8s! Please turn "The Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers into a product line! I love it! Posters, Bumper Stickers, the works! Great line!
Yes, we'll be looking for Carville's book in the discount bin at Wal-Mart in a year…
Hey all you patriots. Here is the Mount Vernon Statement. Please go on this site and sign The goal is to have a million signatures soon! Interesting about conservativesvsliberals. We say what we stand for, we sign articles that express what we stand for, they hide what they stand for so the people won't figure it out!

Ny needs to run some strong candidates agaisnt Gillibrand and Shumer.
Please toss both of these bums out. They both vote every step of the way with Pelosi and Reid, and they are both supported by ACORN, SEIU and the Working Families Party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please NY vote these two out. Gillibrand pretends to be moderate to her constituents and then votes with Pelosi and Reid every single time. Shumer doesn't even bother trying to pretend. He is an arrogant and obnoxious liberal snob.
NY send a message in the fall
Well, they want a collapse. Civil war is just one kind that they think would serve their purpose.
"Begich"
(ptui)
I wish I had the resources to pull it off…
That's T-shirtable right there!
The thing is, I really like the "Fresh Prince of Bellayre" show, and the Will Smith character is pretty likeable too. Can't say that for the present guy in the white house.
and all the so called moderate democrats voted for the far out lefty bills….
I'm about ready to end my subscription to my local newspaper "The Poughkeepsie Journal". They have been promoting the man-made global warming propaganda big time, and refuse to do stories on crooked politicians and ridiculously overpriced taxpayer-funded projects. The won't print letters-to-the-editor I write on a lot of issues. I'm tempted to just buy an ad to let people know what they have been doing, but that somehow seems just too wrong to have to do to get the truth out.
I agree the moderate Democrat certainly trumps the moderate Republican, only because the mod dem never existed. Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu proved that any one of them can be bought into the proglib cause.
"…an ideological purity test “threatens to derail moderate Republican candidacies in heated 2010 Republican primaries already underway.” If by "purity test" you mean constitutional conservatism, then that statement is correct.
I believe that Carville exposed himself as the Capitalist that he really is. He talks a good game, but in reality loves money as much as any Conservative. Only difference is, he lies about it, which makes him a fraud. I'm hoping that the elections in November will prove him wrong (vice a liar) and we can see him quietly go into that good night and never be given any kind of credibility or stature again. Good riddance to him and all like him (with apologies to his wonderful wife, Mary Matalin. He did do one thing right by convincing her to marry him.)
What would it take to get Barney Frank removed from office? I consider him the architect behind our failing economy with his forcing banks to accept subprime mortgages from people who clearly could not afford them. Then, when it all went south, he wants to claim that he sponsored legislation to put tighter controls on Fannie and Freddie, but the record does not bear that out. George Bush tried to rein in Freddie and Fannie, but Barney and his crew said there were no problems. Where is the MSM on that? Obama should be telling him and Maxine Waters that he is the only thing between them and pitchforks, but the MSM won't beat the drum. Where's 60 Minutes? Where are the investigative reporters to uncover the real cause of our current economic crisis? If it was truly caused by Republicans, it'd be daily news. The silence proves to me that the Dems are responsible, and not the "greedy banks."
In fact, he thinks that he needs to fight back even more against Conservative ideas. He thinks he just didn't communicate his agenda enough. He is so stupid! At least Bill Clinton said, after losing the House and Senate in 2004, something to the effect of, "I hear you now," talking about the American people. He then shifted from left towards the center (not far enough, of course, but better than he had been). Obama is NOT learning from his mistakes. He is hell-bent on making us a socialist, and if possible, a Marxist-socialst country.
I wish I had the money to market it….
Whatever!
And Obama will be coronated the first President of the World!
Why aren't you at your post?
I'm probably not the first but I had to say it.
Don't hold back, Missy8s…tell us how you REALLY feel…!!!
ROTFLMAO!!!
A well-deserved +1 to you…!
Just lay on the floor and quietly eat your Royale w/cheeze…
I heard your former car is running for Senate against Boxer, something about "…free flow of gasoline at market prices…"
At least K.I.T.T. has a plan…must hurt he's still more talented than you…try the new Jeff Bridges movie, and learn to cope…
Barney Frank will be up for re-election in 2010

I wish I had him within middle finger distance!
I would love to spread the wealth and share it with him up close!
GO TO HELL OBAMA!
YOU FRIGGIN' NUT SACK!
The problem has always been that moderates with no true passion on any issue will always fail. Obama's lack of leadership has shown that! Still, what's happening to the democrats will also happen to the republicans – the replacement of career politicians with those who truly want to serve their constituents!
Read "The Destructors" by Graham Greene….
It says everything about Marxist ideology!
he would not know how to meet a payroll without stealing it from the taxpayers!
AMEN MISSEY
we as a NATION ARE STILL PAYING FOR JIM THE CARTER HE LET IRAN GET OUT OF CONTROL, NOW THIS JERK IS WORSE
The "Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers" is the biggest narcissist to ever hold office, ANYWHERE on Earth…
Get over yourselves lefties…
…. bad com-link. Ya, that's it. Ignore the wookie behind the door.
1. Find a printer willing to work with you on producing T-shirts and bumper stickers. Anybody out there run a print shop. Screen Print set up is the most expensive and around here it's under $100.
2. Set up an Ebay sellers account. Don't forget Pay Pal.
3. Create an ebay add.
4. Take orders!
5. Hit your local Tea Party rally's.
I'm betting you could do the start up for under $500 with a little creativity. Probably less if you find a hungry Conservative printer. Hit up some of your friends for some start up capital. If you were in my neck of the country, I'd kick in some start up cash for a small piece of the profits.
What if I took the "HOPE" poster from the B.O. campaign and superimposed the phrase "The Fresh Prince Of Bill Ayers" on it..?
Do you think I could sell a few?
Absolutely right! No one on any side of the media is talking about how quickly and completely the MSM threw Hillary under the bus. It was as if they held a meeting after the Iowa primary and agreed that Barry Hussein was their guy now, so the old broad's gotta go!
I've been saying for many months that HRC has to be the angriest person is the US. Oh, and by the way…I look for her to jump ship sometime soon (after the mid-terms bloodbath?) and run against BHO in 2012. She ain't dead until the stake is pounded completely in…
I just declared bankruptcy a few months ago thanks to Obamanopoly but I'll have to see what I can pull off anyway…
Thanks TREN!
I don't want Bawney Fwank rammin' nothing down my throat.
My guess (being from Indiana) is that Evan Bayh's reelection prospects were far below mainstream media estimates, and that he might also have wearied of the kind of mail that his constituents were sending.
Guess number two (an easy one) is that Rep. Baron Hill is also down the drain.
Violence only serves to prove your political opponents case. Those we seek to politically defeat are our Countrymen, while misguided, we must love them. I know this sounds hoaky; but it is vital none of us make so much as one mistake. Violence is only permissible if those in power take away our God given right to vote, express our thoughts, bear arms, freely exercise religion, or assemble – I know I've just described some cities in The United States, while this is alarming, we are making progress there too. Hang in there to all. We are winning this political fight.
A lot of disappointed liberals! They actually think a majority of Americans believe as they do.
I say she's gone by the summer. I'd honestly expected her to have been gone by the beginning of this month, but I'm guessing the Haiti earthquake ruined the timing. I've been saying ever since Brown's win ended the Democrats health care dreams; Obama blew the Dems best chance in ages to deliver the death blow to the Constitution due to his utter incompetence. Hillary wouldn't have blown it and the Dem faithful know it, and she knows they know it. 2012 will be bloody for the Dems.
Funny thing is, I wouldn't be nearly as afraid of Hillary in charge with a good conservative congress (which we will surely see to come 2012) as I would have been had she been in charge now.
Is “judge me by the people I surround myself with” an authentic quotation? If so, please provide primary source evidence to substantiate your claim. Thanks!
Ah, it's nothing. Just some outgassing.
The Hope poster would be good, but consider taking a cartoon from the Fresh Prince of Bellaire and superimposing Obama's face on it. __Declaring bankruptcy shouldn't be as much of an obstical as you might think. The only difference between a winner and a loser is that the winner gets up 1 more time than they get knocked down. You've got a slogan that's a winner. Failure to make something of it deprives the Country of a great slogan, and deprives you of a possible source of income. I think you've got a winner! Please use it to get back up and win!
After a few years of having a Republician president we forget how really bad it can be to have a Democraic one. So now we remember, and now we have three years to go. If we have any resemblence of our republic left, after the lefties have their turn to transform us into 1920's Russia. Their rhetoric is just the same, same ole 'workers of the world unite" stuff. Unfortunately most of our workers have been too busy working to read their history, and it sounds kinda neat and powerful, that is until you read the outcome!
The only thing Obummer had to do was to be himself…and the country is now demanding a redo. I think the folks have had enough when Obummer blamed the groundhog for screwing up his global warming scam by declaring six more weeks of winter.. How is a con artist suppose to make a living around here!
These "moderate Democrat" (is there really such a thing?) Trotskyites had better watch their backs.
They could find themselves stalked by BHO's hard left base brandishing hatchets in a fever to avenge their heresies against the "People's Republic of People Who Spend Others' Money that the Others Do Not Have."
Well said. I am still trying to figure out what a moderate democratic is. How can you stay in a party run by Barry, Nan and Harry? How can you look at Global Warming, HRC and a Wise Latina and still consider yourelf 'moderat".These people VOTED for Barry for C sake!! Do not let them off the hook because they are bailing now.
I vote for the obama joker poster with your slogan.
Of course, the much earlier demise of Republican moderates is a GOOD thing to you!
If the GOP isn't going to be moderate, there's no point in the Democrats being moderate, either. They have to push things as far to the left as possible only to counterbalance the GOP's rightism– only then can they get a middle-of-the road thing done, if they indeed ever can! The Republican Party, in the words of a Wall Street Journal, are a Wrecking Crew, and if they were allowed to have everything they ever wanted, America would be a smoldering heap of ruins. They make the accusations, but it is THEY who truly hate America, for not everyone (scandal!) is as twisted and hung-up as they are.
Obama's endorsement has become the kiss of death in democratic circles. Go figure. Yo, Barack, keep up the good work!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVsr-_-v2sI
Save the republic and replace congress!!!
It's not the low-hanging fruit (excuse the expression) like Harry Reid and Blanche Lincoln that the Republicans should be concentrating on, it's 7-term incumbents like Patrick Leahy and (third-longest serving Senator in history) Daniel Inouye. Also, inherent light-weights like Ron Wyden and Patty Murray. Why give these guys a pass? just because they have easily won in the past? This is NOT the past. It is the post-Massachusetts Miracle year, and anything is possible.
Maybe I should move to Vermont and get this thing started . . . .
I agree with you that Hillary had a Cinderella experience at the hands of the intelligentsia, darling one moment, pauper the next. That had to have an impact and did, even when her campaign manager singled out Fox News as the fairest media outlet they encountered. At this point it does appear likely that she will take another run at it, if The One's ratings stay where they are. I wonder how differently the media will behave for Round 2. Will they continue to give him a complete pass (how can they)? It should make for interesting theatre.
