I love when progressives who’ve stood against Israeli settlements and “zionists” suddenly find compassion for Jewish people, even if it’s manufactured compassion to feign straw man outrage at conservatives. Baby steps!
While watching this interview with Frances Fox Piven posted below, I momentarily missed Olbermann. Sure, he was a far-left partisan, but he was an entertaining broadcaster, something from which his socialist views cannot detract.
Here is MSNBC sub Cenk Uygur in a bizarre interview with Piven right after he tries to make Glenn Beck out to be anti-semitic because some of the people he criticizes are or may be Jewish:
Considering that many pundits openly admitted to not even knowing who she was, I hardly believe that they knew she came from Russian parents of Jewish descent. Does it matter? When someone makes insane comments, do we first need to ask for everyone’s laminated identity politick card before freely criticizing them? Or can we criticize the merits of someone’s argument without regard for religion or ethnicity?
Or – do not yet live in the age of which Dr. King spoke, an age where we can be judged not by the color of our skin but by the content of our character? Progressives can’t have it both ways. Either we’re a society that looks beyond religion and race or we’re a society that caters to it and assigns exceptions because of it – which is, itself, racist.
Piven claims to not have any idea why Glenn Beck “plucked” her out of “thousands.” She distances herself as much as she can from ACORN, her participation in the New Party, and her involvement in the inner circle which ultimately launched the President’s political career.
Glenn Beck merely repeated Piven’s words. Progressives, by way of their hysterical reactions, are only validating what the public already believes: that Piven’s remarks epitomize the “vitriolic rhetoric” progressives say should stop but can’t help but to engage in themselves. It’s the double-standard on full display.
Again, where was this attention when Sarah Palin’s church was burned down? When she was threatened publicly, multiple times on Twitter?
On Facebook? There wasn’t any.
As for Beck, there isn’t any “Jewish problem.” He’s criticizing a woman for her own comments. Can those using this inane narrative prove that he used her religion against her?

I'll always remember with fondness as a child sitting in Grandma Piven's kitchen and listening to her tell stories about the coming revolution. She would often be cooking up a bomb from some new recipe she'd received from Aunt Bernadine or Uncle Bill, not store bought, but ones that were made from scratch with commonly found household solvents and cleaners. Many of the kids in the neighborhood would come over and sip KoolAid on her back porch, often begging grandma to tell them about the Utopia that would come after us kids grew up, rejected something called capitalism, and set all the towns on fire. When Grandpa Cloward was still alive he would let me come along every now and then when he delivered his famous home made Molotov Cocktails to the older kids who couldn't afford to buy the gasoline to make them. I would sit right next to him as he slowly steered through the back streets of town and I would hand them out the window when he gave me the secret signal. Grandpa always said it was our civic responsibility to help the violent revolutionaries that weren't as fortunate as we were. He sure was kindly and caring, God rest his soul. (oops~! I forgot Grandpa didn't believe in that nonsense)… May maggots grow to adulthood eating his slowly rotting carcass as the life cycle requires. There that's better, just what grandpa would have wanted.
……..ah memories, they come flooding back every time I fill my tank with gas and get a whiff of those fumes.
But this is de rigueur for the Left. Character assassination is what they know. Indeed, it might be all they know; it's certainly all they've done lately. Which is why I maintain that the time for conservatives to get genuinely outraged, and show it, is upon us.
The 11/2/2010 elections have the Left in full panic mode. Unable to BS the electorate anymore, they are amping up the other tools they use when confronted: threats of violence, politics of personal destruction, cries of persecution, attempts to silence opposition views using the racist/bigot card, carpet bombing FOX NEWS, making Sarah Palin the focal point of everything they hate about America. And in less than 22 months, The People will finish what they started in the last election cycle by voting in a new GOP majority in the Senate and giving the keys to The White House back to a leader who actually thinks well of US.

Sadly that happens often. The cult of personality seems to lure some in and then nothing can be said or done to influence them otherwise. I have a few in my family as well. They try to avoid political conversations but they cannot seem to let the dog alone. I carefully stay away from controversial subjects but in the end they bring it up. My dad laughs, thinks it is hilarious and quips at the time intervals from the beginning to end. Usually my debate is in the method of Socrates where questions bring them around to contradicting themselves. It doesn’t hurt feeling so much because they are the ones who make the argument and think they are taking it where they want to go. Sport for me really and that is what amuses my dad I think.

I dont know if you are aware, FDR purposely pissed of Japan to attack Pearl Harbor to enter us into the war. Yet, FDR was into large social programs, tons of spending both in and out of war, and he was about to become dictator if he ran for office any longer than he did. Both men strived for massive power and control. I dont know if anyone has noticed this, but I just realized something here.
It is that Beck has for a good while gone on about Cloward/Piven but the media didnt do anything about him saying that until the new tone and civility came about. While the media wants to tone down/shut down Beck, Piven is supported spouting her support of violence and hope to cause riots like in Greece.
Yet the media is making one big mistake though, they either havent realized or just ignored, but Beck has used Piven owns words. Now, if they took that into fact, then maybe they would stop blindly attacking the wrong person.
and we are now supposed to give her a 'pass' and not talk about her at all because it might cause someone to dislike her enough to send her hate mail? Hell, Beck and the rest get death threats DAILY.
You are responsible for your words…..today, tomorrow and twenty years from now if you are in the public eye, or publish them with intent to form someone else's opinion.

Beck merely has to quote Piven's own words on the air, and Piven runs for cover. Why should he deign to debate her? She can't even defend her own expressed opinions!

This is all scary to her because the plan has been revealed, and people don't want to go along. The ivory tower types thought that the time was right for the implementation of their plan. Again, they were wrong. But now they have to double down because the light has revealed them.
I loved how Piven diminishes her contributions to the Revolution, by saying, "…Glenn Beck's obsession with a little article I wrote with my husband, 45 years ago in The Nation magazine, proposing that poor people claim their lawfull benefits from the welfare system." And she ends with that…. it is at 3:16 in the video….

I also think it is interesting the way the video ends…like someone in her earphone told her to shut up. The final comment of how this is "…this is dangerous times…" made me puke a little in my mouth. These people cannot hardly wait for Revolution and are shocked that it is not happening. One little thing Cloward and Piven overlooked with their theory of "Collapsing the System," is people who are entitlements for a long time become very lazy….thus the reason they are not creating an uprising. I thank God for that one little flaw.
In his defense, I do not think he's anti-semitic. He just touches on a lot of tropes from anti-semitic works. This isn't very suprising, as he's crib a lot of his materials from a variety of writers when it fits his conspiracy theories.

And i've watched beck plenty of times. Enough to know he's a crackpot whose entire schtick he appropriated from the John Birch Society. He just has a new cast of characters pushing the word communist conspiracy. Instead of the Rockefellers and Rothschilds he has George Soros and Saul Alinsky in the roles of puppetmasters. Sad fact is Birch had more likely villains since the Rockefellers and Rothschilds weilded far more power than Soros could ever muster.
