You know who you are. From the New York Times a year ago:
Republicans have long accused mainstream journalists of being on the payroll of President Barack Obama and the Democratic Party, a common refrain of favoritism, especially from those on the losing end of an election.
But this year the accusation has a new twist: In some notable cases it has become true, with several prominent journalists now on the payrolls of Obama and Democratic congressional leaders.
An unusual number of journalists from prominent, mainstream organizations started new government jobs in January, providing new kindling to the debate over whether Obama is receiving unusually favorable treatment in the news media.

The number is now up to fourteen.
This will end well, sure it will. After all, when you sell out your journalistic integrity to a cause, what could possibly go wrong?

As John Earl Haynes, Harvey Klehr and former KGB agent Alexander Vassiliev note in their new book The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America:
When new information about Americans who had cooperated with the Soviet KGB began to emerge in the 1990s, no individual case generated as much controversy as that of the journalist I.F. Stone, who had long been installed in the pantheon of left-wing heroes as a symbol of rectitude and a teller of truth to power before his death in 1989. Charges about Stone’s connections with the KGB have been swirling about for more than a decade, prompting cries of outrage among his passionate followers. Until now, the evidence was equivocal and subject to different interpretations. No longer.
To put it plainly, from 1936 to 1939 I.F. Stone was a Soviet spy.
That Stone chose never to reveal this part of his life strongly suggests that he knew just how incompatible it would be with his public image as a courageous and independent journalist. His admirers, who have so strenuously denied even the possibility of such an alliance, have no choice now but to reevaluate his legacy.
Let’s have your early-morning thoughts on the state of the Fourth Estate in this year 2010 A.D.

If one googles up the biographies of the journalists at the NYT and WaPo and media in general, one finds it is littered with democratic operatives. It's a revolving door and incestuous.
They are former speech writers, advisors, and communications directors. In TV, We all know the obvious ones too, Mika Brezinski's father was Carter's chief of staff, Campbell Brown has dem hx, Stephanopolous, Christiane Amanpour married to former Clinton Dep Sec State, etc., etc., etc.
If one looks up most any of them they will have a connection to the democratic party if not a lineage such as Evan Thomas of Newsweek mag. — father was 6 x presidential candidate of the socialist party — Katherine Van De Hueval of the the Nation mag. –married to democratic operative and father big democratic operative.
The Film Industry is also littered with political operatives such as the former staffer of the Johnson Administration (Jack Valenti?) and the most recent one was a former DNC chair I believe. They own the media!
No wonder they are opposed to anyone else having free speech.
Marxism never sleeps…… so neither shall I

And this is why CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, NYSlimes, Washington Compost, etc. are ALL in the tank. Americans are well aware that you will only get the left side of any story with these outlets…..and that IS propoganda. Does anyone really want to be continuously inundated with leftist propoganda on a never-ending basis? Enter FOX News Channel…..the leaders in REAL media who will give you, not only both sides of the story, but they will give you the truth. And isn't that what it's really about!
I actually find myself encouraged…
To know that there is such a leftist bent to the formerly-mainstream media… that there does seem to be an undeniable blurring of the lines between their journalism and their advocacy for Obama's administration…
Then… to look over at Fox News and ask: "Why is it they are doing so well?" Why is it that Fox News' ratings are through the roof, compared to the flailing ratings of ALL other cable news outlets.
Those on the Left will simply dismiss the numbers as evidence of our (the Right's) ignorance, and jingoism, and uncouth news-consumerism. But, I take it as an encouraging sign: We Americans, by and large, across the fruited plain… we Americans WANT the truth, the good and the bad… and we love our country, and are convinced that America is much more a force for Good than for Evil.
Now, with the explosive growth of the New Media… I pray, I literally pray, that we are at a turning point in our nation's history. I am actually optimistic about what I see going on in the modern media seen: We grow stronger, while our enemy diminishes. Fascinating.
Thx to the Big websites for fanning the flame.
You want to hear something really funny? (Of course you do!) I was over at huffpo reading some of the comments about O'Keefe there and someone said this about MSNBC (paraphrased) "Well of course it seems to conservatives that it has a liberal bias. They tell only the facts and the facts are liberal (or left) leaning." lol I just couldn't believe I read that. Sometimes those people ar really good for a laugh. And sometimes they make me sad/scared/etc . . .
Fourth estate? You mean fifth column. Just ask William Tecumseh Sherman.
“I hate newspapermen. They come into camp and pick up their camp rumors and print them as facts. I regard them as spies, which, in truth, they are. If I killed them all there would be news from Hell before breakfast.”
srhoades. LOL. Love it. (Isn't that what we get each day from the "Charlie McCarthy" of the WH, Robert "When my lips are moving I am lying" Gibbs, news from Hell?)
Yes, whenever I do flip over to read or listen to MSNuttyBroadcastCorp its amazing to read their logic and pathetic attempts at trying to convince the reader of the validity of their liberal stance.
At the recent Republican caucus in Baltimore, Obama singled out Frank Lutz to comment on his book. This administration is all about words, image, and Marketing. So its no surprise that they think journalists and their ilk are needed to provide the proper facade to continue the charade for this empty suit.
He has no idea how to govern (experience as a community organizer ….maybe), no leadership ( as evident in the debacle they call the Health Care reform), and to top that a obsessive need for attention and power (MSNBC's Schultz on a recent visit to the WH said it looked like a shrine to Obama).
So what is he left with? Image, words…………campaigning!!!!
What a country!
It is intimidating to know that so much of the "news" is produced by the government payroll. What is encouraging is that the American people, and the market continue to speak. Despite government backing, the ratings of these government-sponsored outlets continue to plummet and the ratings of networks that do more than sympathize with the administration, climb.
"The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America" If I were to venture a guess I would doubt that the KGB has fallen merely retrenched and reorganized. As to the state of Journalism in America I have hope. Starry eyed idealist go to J school to hone their craft, to report the corruption from the underbelly. When Profs were conservative they learned their tricks and turned it against the conservative "MAN". It is the essence of youth to question authority, the "NEW MAN" is a Liberal just like their Profs. The Bigs are good example of what is coming.
Echo this. If we don't turn this November and they squeak out enough leverage then it's all over. And I'm outta here.
Mobility will have new meaning.
Yeah, huffpo can be fun. I made the mistake of getting myself banned from commenting. (something I posted about the Lib Lion, as I remember.)
Oh yeah, they really are that bad. I was debating one ass hat crazy moon bat who was lecturing me that since I listened to Rush I have no right to quote Frederick Douglass, and he couldn't possibly be a racist because he was a democrat.
And to top it off, just as he was losing support for his insane babble, he turns to a mutual friend and says "Come Larry, we're the good guys, we're democrats."
They really are that nuts.
Fingers crossed!
now I know why oliver stone's is such an America hater – fits right along with obozo, the moooslim
RACISM!
well put jack! i'm n total agreement with you.
I describe Obama's campaign as a block buster PR campaign for the greatest new movie (really, honestly, we promise).
And now we're all in the theater, the lights are down, the curtain goes up, and the movie really sucks.
huffpoop did not appreciate me pointing out that anytime teddy kennedy was quoted or lionized – Mary Jo Koepechne could not be reached for comment
in other words I got banned for speaking truth about the democrat party's No 1 murderer
