Andrew Breitbart used his address to CPAC yesterday morning to continue his assault on the mainstream media, but at around the 5:00 mark, he moved the ball in a different direction altogether. Listen for the part where he invites citizen-journalists on campus to turn their video cameras on academics. Needless to say, the best of the bunch would be featured at the forthcoming Big Education.

Breitbart is like a Poseiden missile aimed at the bleeding heart of calcified, PC liberalism
That's a great way to put it.
I'm looking forward to the next generation of students, professionals, and pundits taking the truth to the liberal elites and confronting them over their vile spew, as Andrew has recently done.
We need to take the fight to the individual leader, politician, pundit, blogger. Not just talk about how they are wrong, and they never face the music.
These people who spread lies, hate, racism, and who live to destroy others who dare to disagree with their hellbent on destruction liberalism, need people to stand up to them and show them to be the frauds and mockery of decent humans they are.
Again, where is Coulter, Ingraham, Beck, Malkin, etc? Complaining from behind the cardboard in the corner doesn't get the attention of the ones controlling the discussion from the podium, the politicians, the representatives of dear leader, and the bloggers/pundits who continue the lies and who are pining for the destruction of our way of life.
Sorry, but making the most money you can, with a jab here or there, is not changing our nation for the better.
The truth, as painful as it is, and in you face having to face that truth, will.
We saw this last year as dear leader sent out his minions to deceive the masses, as the were shocked that normal people would dare stand up to their 'plan.' And they changed, did they not?
Words are like toothpaste from a tube. They should be held responsible for the mess they make, not just complained about and left to do the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome.
Breitbart may be "ADD", but this was an awesome speech. You can sense his passion is genuine, and not ginned-up.
I've felt that way about Rush, as well. Yes, he has a radio show and millions of listeners, but he is NEEDED in the trenches, behind a podium debating these people. With his loot, isn't there something more he could be doing to spread truth? His listeners are, by and large, the lion's share of the 48% who see truth anyway. People who find the truth on their own (thanks in NO small part to his influence in the past couple of decades), people who watch the news, if at all, with a critical eye for propaganda. "Preaching to the choir" comes to mind…not that that is at all a bad thing – as someone put it the other day on a forum, the choir sings louder and with more conviction as a result.
The people he, and others like him – Malkin, Hannity, etc. – need to reach the most are not listening to E.I.B. There has to be another avenue…Breitbart is clearing brush and laying the roadbed, but money and megaphones could be used for more than just selling more books to the choir, and making more money. There should be another end, and if that end is the takeback of America and her values, it should be a higher priority than further wealth-hoarding. It would help if they all didn't have private islands outside America to which you may flee if the USA becomes unlivable. They'd have more skin in the game, if they knew there was no other option for them.
Hesed: "Sorry, but making the most money you can, with a jab here or there, is not changing our nation for the better. " –Quoted for truth.
Can't we "bundle" all the leading conservatives together, get some financing, and start a Breitbart News? A national newspaper containing all the stuff we read every day on 50 or so great conservative sites would be, possibly, the best way to get the message into places where it would normally not reach. Like the subway, the bus-stop, the barber shop. Yes, it would be more expensive than USA Today to produce, but mainly because we would have to massively "up-armor" all the newspaper boxes, since the Libs would make a sport of destroying them. Hell, we could have used a national hardcopy newspaper years ago. USA Today should be the model, distribution-wise.
—
Look for violence this next schoolyear against students recording hard-Commie-left profs.
BIG EDUCATION IS GOING TO ROCK THEIR WORLDS.
"Big Education" I love it!
This will be a massive ****storm when it gets going.
Tenured professors who run off the ethical ranch and turn their classes into socialist/communist/fascist reeducation centers who turn up on Big Education will go mad, with much wailing, gnashing of teeth, rending of garments, and wounded weeping in the weeds.
It will be fun as they attempt to shut down the First Amendment rights of students who bring them to the attention of Big Education whilst simultaneously trying to defend their "rights" to say any outrageous thing and get away with it.
I can't wait!
There's nothing I can write that can add anything to what AB said. He is a true American hero and patriot.
It's about time the LSM had a magnifying glass put on THEM.
My only regret is that we didn't have hand-held digital cams back in the late 70s while I was in college! This is going to be GREAT!
We need a national daily newspaper, USA-Today-style, containing all the news we see regularly but the rest of the nation doesn't, or sees through the communist MSM funhouse-mirror-prism-kaleidoscopic-polarization-filter.
When they sell like proverbial hotcakes, I should get a cut, since it was my idea.
Seriously, though. It would be nice. Are all the billionaire-philanthropists and "foundations" a buncha arts-giving NPR-donating commies or what? There HAS to be a few billionaires who could do this thing, out of their love for and sense of duty to America. If not, screw-em. Go on, leave. Go to your private island and fondly remember America.
Great move Andrew. I cannot wait to see comments and video of Professors scrutinized for truth and honesty. This insight into our Nation's classrooms all across America is long overdue. We know their idealogy, now bring it to the fore.
I think Breitbart is making a valiant attempt to address this issue. His approach is very realistic in that his "business model" is efficient and cost effective when compared to more traditional media such as ink and paper- a very mature business model that struggles to survive during less than robust economic times.
Others who would take GREAT interest in this, especially once the profs and their minions begin with the legal maneuverings, the inevitable legal maneuverings to shut down free speech: MIKE ADAMS, and F.I.R.E.
It's gonna be a great year for truth!
Keep in mind, they are pushing back "twice as hard" with the lies, smears, disinformation, and propaganda.
If you read NewsBusters this week, you'd know.
I'm looking forward to Big Education.
I don't know. Are they struggling because of "less than robust economic times", or, like what we've been discovering over the last decade, are they struggling because nobody wants to spend money on BS, uninformed brainwashing? I thought that was the case.
If it is the case, and we know it is in the visual media, since FOX is raking in the cash, while the rest of the gang of idiot networks are "struggling", then a real paper newspaper should do well, as long as it also is devoted to truth-seeking. Newspapers would enjoy a comeback if REPORTING CAME BACK.
I do like the idea of a newspaper, but wonder if it is viable in the long run. Is there a shift to online as opposed to hard copy. Is it an irreversible trend? Cd. a good newspaper overcome that trend? The pooling of resources is a great idea- both financial and phlosophical.
I had no idea of what was happening in Colleges when selecting one with my dtr therefore was very happy she got accepted into Berkley – shudder – thankfully money was short and she went to Albany where we paid instate tuition fees. She returned a moderate leftie relativist (thankfully she was into fun parties rather than political parties) whose now gradually returning to the center, and despite being a teacher, amongst strong Obama fans, she didn't vote for him.
I can't wait until Andrew launches Big Education. Parents need to know exactly what's going on in our education system and this will be a great way for them to become aware.
I am lovin' the offense. Go get em Breitbart! I was disappointed I did not hear the details of when Big Edu launches, I hope very soon. I anxiously await Big edu and the rest that you have planned!
Big Education–that's the ticket. Hell will break loose then. Wouldn't that be a sight to see? Sign me up!
I suggested last night that a tool I used in the car business comes in handy when confronting liberal propaganda. It's called an evidense manual.
I have a collection of researched quotes, economic statistics, etc., that I use at school when the liberal manure is being spread.
As I just referenced on another thread – I was in a class when a professor got off topic and began a "Where's the WMD's George W. Bush?" rant…
I interupted (respctfully of course) and read some quotes DEMANDING regime change in Iraq and citing – with certainty that Saddam was a threat to mankind, etc. I asked the class to identify the speakers of the material I had.
They all guessed, with certainty – G.W. Bush – Cheney. WRONG – all my material was from BIll "Bubba" Clinton and John Kerry.
The kids looked suprised, then glum…LOL!
"Big Education" is a capital idea! A short list of topics that I hope to see investigated.
1.) Affrimative action: in all aspects, from the reduced requirements for admission, to the grant and loan process, to hiring process at Universities for both faculty and non-faculty employees. Include also the current practice of promoting unqualified, underperforming students by quota.
2.) The sudent loan fraud. How state and federal aid, have caused the price of education to skyrocket, how the schools game the system, and how the banks and gov't work together to keep generations of degree holders in bonded servitude.
3.) The abuse of the tax-free, "Public-private" non-profit status by large universities.
4.) The collectivist, anti-achievement, affirmative action centered teacher training programs around the country.
And Andy, when investigating, please be rigorous and dependable with the facts–credibilty, credibility, credibilty. Kill them with truth!
I like that Andrew isn't a polished speaker. Means he's less likely to go all John Edwards on us.
I'm anxiously awaiting big education…this out to be fun!!!
They are struggling for several reasons: the growth of the internet with free distribution of most content; their insane dive off the left cliff; and the choices made over the last half century but especially the last quarter to devote their resources to image rather than content – i.e. pretty faces paid millions to deliver the message, rather than hundreds more boots on the ground getting real information. Long before the Marxist takeover announced itself the accuracy of reporting had dropped to about the level of a 4th grade class room pass-the-rumor-around experiment, as reporters who knew next to nothing about the real world went out into the city with cameras and microphones, picked up a few soundbites and images and went back to write "pithy" prose for the morning cage-liner.
By the way, re doing a daily paper, the threat of leftie vandalism is quite real. A friend of mine, life-long journalist who early on worked in the Big Apple, pointed out to me that the history of the newsrag business is
replete with thugs who not only trashed competing news stands but also snatched competing papers out of peoples' hands on subways and beat up people who resisted. That might be a little tougher to do in airports these days, but on the streets of the inner city where it's needed most, these papers would not last. We might have to air drop them like leaflets from an invading army!
I live for the day Breitbart is Olby's guest. Please Olby…Please?
I'm thinking from now on instead of liberal, progressive, intellectual " elites " we call them " deletes ".
Because, their numbers are shrinking, and they will be removed from power and influence by the new generation.
So much money is wasted in education. Our elite schools are not training leaders for our society. They are training Marxists who the common man will reject over and over.
Breitbart is an animal.
And we love animals.
This is nothing but Breitbartism. The best defense is a great offense. The head coach of the Saints epitomizes this.
Said before. Will say it again. Take your children away from them. Take them out of the Progressive littered schools and find teachers who WORK FOR YOU. Not for them. Big Education is righteous.
Happy to see the gloves coming off. Man. Harness it AB. I'm so pumped up and bouncing off the walls here. The Saints Of Breitbart are marching. We are marching. We are coming.
Mr. Sullivan. Breitbartism? YOU HAD NO IDEA BRAH.
Big Education, love it! And after that….
BIG ENVIRONMENTALISM.
Environmentalism is really a sub-category which ties into all the "Big" sites, including the upcoming Big Education. I think that with Hollywood, Government, Journalism, and Education, Breitbart has covered all the main bases of operation for the Marxists and lib elites in America.
I propose that another, more logical spinoff could be Big TV or Big Music, or an umbrella site called Big Arts, covering the insanity in the music industry, TV, Broadway, and the lib-infested world of so-called fine arts.
Environmentalism is just a tool, and it is used by All of the Above institutions for their ends.
NOTE to Republicans..: If you dismiss what Andrew and Beck said at C-PAC you will give Obama another 4 years!! YOU GOP'ers better pay close attention, WE are watching you as much as we are watching the Democrats!!! Vote yes on the 'jobs bill' and 'health care' and you are OUT!!!
Big TV, Big Music, Big Arts really are covered by BIG HOLLYWOOD.
Environmentalism is the new religion of the left… I think it warrants a "BIG" site.
Andrew Breitbart has made and is making an invaluable contribution to a return to sanity (and Constitutional governance); he is, indeed, a treasure. I do not understand, however, why several commenters see a necessity or value in combining praise for Breitbart with criticism of others — Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, Beck, etc. — who also have made and are making invaluable contributions to the same end. It seems rather doubtful, to me, that any of these leading voices (including Breitbart) really need or should abide by, anonymous advice on how they might “better” use their own resources or direct their own activities. I think they all know what they’re doing, and are doing it quite well. God bless them — I’m thankful for all of them.
Offense, offense, offense. Oh, yes indeedy.
Can't wait for Big Education. I want to take back my profession.
"Big TV, Big Music, Big Arts really are covered by BIG HOLLYWOOD. "
Yeah, I was thinking that, too.
Howsabout BIG MARX!
Conservative/Independent graduates of Tulane University (& Harvard, Columbia, Baylor, etc.) come out of the closet already!! Go Andrew!
Ouch! Facts sting! ^__^
Who is John Galt? Maybe Andrew?
In 10 or 20 years John Malkovich will play Andrew in BREITBART the movie. The classic line will be, "MR. PODESTA, I'M WATCHING YOU!"
AWESOME SPEECH. Keep it coming!
Why start with university? Most of the damage is done in public schools! 'Big Education' in the gr. 5 classroom…now that would discover a scandal!
Great speech!
I got a ton of them. We were required to read the biggest POS off a text book, really it was a propaganda piece, so I started going through it countering the lies by this Boston U. professor/author and it really comes in handy.
I bitched so much they discontinued the "book". I supported my complaints with documantation and they withdrew the book.
Funny thing, other students would come up to nme and say the felt the same way about the pack of one sided lies they were being force fed and told me they agreed and didn't like th book either. They were supporting me in standing up to the "man". Military vets were particularly pissed off, those guys and ladies really help balance a classroom.
They've been shot at and had bombs blown up near them and the average college kid hasn't been beyond L.A , DisneyWorld or Canacun for spring break.
Omigod, Annie—become aware?
When parents see what they're PAYING ABOUT $140,000 for, you will see BIG EDUCATION become BIG ANGER!
Colleges are a BUSINESS, first and foremost, no matter what they tell you about fine education.
Go to the website the Chronicle of Higher Ed and take a look at president's salaries—outrageous!
They hire big name faculty, at big salaries—to attract PARENTS—and then let them run rampant with their marxist ideas.
Kids are coming out of these ivy league institutions are virtually clueless—but they need that piece of paper to get a job.
um um um big education……… um um um big education.
I don't know how one would set up the mechanics of the operation without running afoul of all those "rules" schools have nowadays…but it should be done…
And if it skewers the Unions on the way through…now, THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT…!!
Can we add to "Big Education's" topics the attendance records, transcripts, student loan and aid applications, and other documentation for our President's time spent at Columbia and Harvard?
Now, THAT is a BRILLIANT IDEA…!!!
Time to flip a mole…and get that data OUTED…!!
FOR ANDREW (continued)
I can't imagine how it must feel to be directly in the sights of their weapons, and to have had an attempted attack made on yourself, and those innocent, extremely brave and young ones that you've taken under your wing — Hanna and James. It must have felt like a near miss by a Katushya bomb, out on that battlefield.
The experience has strengthened your resolve and sharpened your focus.
Then the attack on Jason Mattera. Jason Mattera! That lovable, funny, adorable, witty, clever, enthusiastic kid — their attempt to ruin him by branding him as a "racist" — there's that pure evil. The last straw.
All Powers to you for many Successes — and Strength to withstand and prevail in the many inevitable assaults coming your way. You'll need your Health — don't neglect to protect it.
And can we add to the list… TENURE. The killer of productivity and performance and debate.
FOR ANDREW – Advice, Thanks, and Deserved Praise —
It doesn't seem anyone else has said it — but it's necessary to say to you.
Your speech was incredible, inspirational and a great success.
But — you look war-torn, tired and overstressed. Don't let them get to you in any way. Keep your center and don't let yourself get stretched to a point where it's harmful to you physically.
Take very good care of yourself and your health.
You are essential in every way — to us all.
(continued)
YAY to going on the offensive. In dribs and drabs it seems to be working. A year from now, we should see a diffferent landscape in the State Run Media.
Brietbart.. if words matter, please it's the state run media, not the mainstream media. Clearly CPAC and the Tea Party movement have shown that our "traditional" media outlets are not mainstream. And of course the fall in revenue and advertising shows also they are not "mainstream" anymore. If they were mainstream would they need a government bailout? Would their ratings be so low?
And here's wishing Breitbart channels become mainstream!
My last 3 comments were one long one – divided to accommodate space permitted.
I mistakenly posted them in reverse order, and they should be read that way.
I like the way you are referring to the 60's Generation Prof's and Powers, as "THE MAN." Heh. And it's really the truth! They have become what they have railed against!
I hope it becomes a very popular new name for them.
Excellent observation. We need Brietbart.
Andrew… CPAC has ended. Take a break and recharge the batteries. The speech was organic and from the heart and spot on. But take care not to go nuclear on us.
Perhaps I was being a bit facetious when I stated "less than robust economic times". I grew up in the print news business. Without advertising, print news cannot survive, regardless of circulation. When times are good, the mediocre can survive, but when times are tough, overhead and expenses eat up all the income because advertising always decreases.
Again, I think internet based news has the best chance to succeed. Besides all the production costs and, not to mention having multiple facilities in order to service multiple regions, the most modest internet saavy consumer will not wait until tomorrow morning to get their news fix. As is probably true for most of us, we do not have time to read the paper because we are so busy trying to make a living, etc.
I admit I can be a pipe-dreamer when it comes to these things, and have the sense to defer to the experts.
SECONDED.
God bless you, Mr. B.
All is cool. We are all thinkers and only care about our country. Otherwise, we would let experts tell us how we should live.
Katie Couric will be the litmus test for the MSM, to see if they want to give him anymore face time.
Homeschooling is the way to go.
Isn't it great how much the MSM hates homeschooling. They must be doing something right.
Oh yes, that's it. Making sure their children hear the truth, and are trained in critical thinking.
There is much work to be done, and it should start at the K-12 local level. Granted, education professors spew "pie-in-the-sky " theories; but those theories are implemented in K-12 classrooms across the country.
Some of the most egregious theories that my own children experienced during their education include: taking tests WITH NOTES (a misnomer); everyone wins because it builds self-esteem, no losers (wrong!); creative spelling (a child learns to spell, when?); and touch-point math (like counting on ones fingers but using touch-points on numbers instead). Our local school district decided years ago to hop onto yet another new -trend-wagon; they no longer teach students cursive writing. Consequently, I have added a new item to my small business' pre-employment testing: reading cursive writing. You would be surprised at how many local teenagers cannot read cursive.
Andrew,
You are a true patriot.Thank you for your bravery and insite into the corruption of big education.Be strong and remember the founding fathers resolve when confronting the Marxist’s. I and most true americans are with you.
Alan C. Hancock
Ha! I like it!
WOW, this will be so amazing. I just watched the video of the Ambassador to the US from Israel trying to speak at UC Irvine. We the People need to know what is going on at the campus' of this country. And not just college. This could be huge. To find out what is going on around the nation. And when we discover what is going on, then we will need to act.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w96UR79TBw
LOL that was a joy to watch! Breitbart's got it goin' on! At the end, I was afraid Breitbart wasn't going to mention Patrick Courrielche's sacrificial contribution, but he did. That guy put a lot on the line to expose the NEA.
[...] confrontation at CPAC. I’m sure many of the Flopping Aces readers have seen the video of Andrew Breitbart and Larry O’Connor confronting Max about his smear campaign against James [...]
I think this is fascinating and I am most interestedin these sort of topics that that provide useful information I did not know about. I’ve bookmarked your site and I am certain I will return when you update.
It's very simple, it's about "we the people!" The Marxists/Progressives are affraid of of "we the people", and personal responsibility, and competition, and free enterprise, and small government. They believe in the Obama Big Government utopia. Long ago they were sold a bill of goods that government was "good" and America and free enterprise were "evil." They drank the Kool-aid, they embraced the hate mongers, and helped to spread their lies. Yet 45 years of their social justice policies have proven the greatest fraud ever committed against those of poverty in the inner-cities, enslaving them to eternal poverty, crime, addiction and idiocy. They despise dignity and initiative. A confident and free man cannot be controlled. A man with a sense of personal responsibility cannot be made a slave. It is this concept of "self determination" that is being reawakened within our country. The vision of our Founding Fathers that this country was established for "we the peolpe", not we the government.
Progressism, the curtain has been pulled back, your lies are exposed, your time has come!
I think what he was saying is that the Je ws begged us to let them come to America. And when they arrived they tried to destroy our country.I guess what he is saying is that it was a big mistake to let them come to America.Especially ha ir piece Oberman, licky de lick Madow and let me steal your boy friend Shuster.
Are Jewish people the so call liberal progressives.[Commies]
Andrew, I think you are making a difference. My mother, a political activist for the California Democratic Party, recently confronted her congressman, John Garamendi, at a town hall meeting where he tried to pooh-pooh what's been happening lately. I'll quote directly from the little newsletter she sent out:
I challenged John on his view that things are no worse in Washington now than in the Clinton years. At first he said that he had been there so he knows, but I said that I think something different is going on now. I talked about the gridlock, the tea partiers, the difficulty getting accurate information to people and the diffusion of the news media, and he said, “I hear you.” I hope he does.
Sounds to me like somebody is whistling past the graveyard!
And we'd LOVE to help you!
We can't wait for Big Education to lead the way in exposing the classroom indoctrination . . . Will also empower children to speak up against what they KNOW is wrong. How about a section on textbooks that indoctrinate, rewrite history, change facts?
THANK YOU!
Good point. K-12 is fertile ground for exposing teachers who specialize in brainwashing at the expense of time and effort actually teaching their subjects.
A number of school boards might be squirming right now over the possibility that they could wind up on this new blog.
The Duke University administration and faculty might be a good start. "_______ Studies" (fill in the blank) leading to laughable liberal arts degrees also appear to be target-rich environments.
As a Conservative academic, bring on the cameras! Just show the good one's too, y'all.
I invite my students to bring their parents to my classes. A few do every semester. Their parents (either directly or indirectly as taxpayers) are paying for their kid's education, so they have every right to be in my classroom.
The university classroom ought to be an open forum that anyone can walk into/onto any day and gather the best arguments from educated minds on any topic they care for.
FOR ANDREW (continued)
Thank you isn't enough to say. You're a BIG light in a great darkness. You are Inspiration itself. Your speeches and the work you've done and are doing will be a, if not the, major force in bringing back the CONSCIOUSNESS of our maligned and beleaguered nation.
You and your contributions, your wit, your ingenuity, are a major, vital force and beacon in this great battle that we're engaged in. It could be said that you're the General to our Militia in the battleground of the Idea of Liberty. And we all know — it is The Great Battle — against forces that would relegate the world's first and only Idea of true Liberty that the U.S. embodies — to ashes.
Even though it's been known for a long time, it's nevertheless shocking to see and experience first hand how far the MSM will go and how deliberately evil they can be. Especially when for some time you've been trying to hold on to the belief that they're "not evil, just wrong," and then to find out, "no, actually, they're evil."
(continued)
Breitbart – an excellent idea. but one suggestion – need to encourage student journalists to also include economic and history professors!
Just wait until taxpayers find out how their money is being spent at public schools around the country – especially at the university level – and the blatant manipulation of their children under the guise of "good" education is revealed.
I've been itching for Big Education for a long time. Bring it on, Breitbart! Take it too 'em!
Big Education will be the best thing since sliced-bread. The wellfare "UNIVERSITY" system being the liberal/progressive heart of the beast. Professors may actually have to teach, what a concept.
It cracks me up that things are so twisted these days. Breitbart and Foxnews do nothing more than what newspapers and press folks used to do in the old days, before news became politicized: they find and report interesting stories and present both sides of the arguments. Yet, this really stirs up the hornets on the left, doesn't it? Please keep it up – watching those hornets buzz is really fun! http://hellgazette.blogspot.com/

I feel sorry for these young kids who get all fired up by others, used, then they get hit with the legal troubles, not those who continue to rant with no consequnces to themselves.
Forget joint writing. I'd be happy if they could manage to teach kids to print. I've only been out of high school a few years, and from what I can remember, 9/10 students had to type their papers because the teachers couldn't read their handwritten work.
Damn, and I haven't even been to Disney World! Good for you! I didn't know what to say when my women's studies profs called Hillary a moderate.
Shoulda said, "A moderate what?"
