You know you’ve just had a bad day when the apostle of Washington Conventional Wisdom, David “Teddy Kennedy’s seat” Gergen puts on his serious mien (does he have any other?) and pronounces upon the weighty matters of the day.
Yes, when Gergen speaks, people not only listen — they’ve already heard it all before! In fact, it’s what everybody else is already thinking! By the time it gets to Gergen’s lips, God long ago changed the channel to re-runs of Happy Days.
So what do you think? How did POTUS do, sans TOTUS — commanding college professor (okay, “senior lecturer”) or tongue-tied, smirking, classless community organizer? Mr. Smile and a Shoeshine, or an anxious, cantankerous former wonder boy/palooka who can’t figure out why this particular fight wasn’t properly fixed by David “Jake Lingle” Axelrod, like all his others? A strike, or a gutter ball?

And what about the Republicans? Spineless, craven cowards or forceful members of the loyal opposition? Are Paul Ryan and Eric Cantor rising stars in the conservative movement or just more soon-to-be-coopted Rotary Club members-in-waiting?
And has this guy been right all along?
Let’s have your thoughts.

Nothing changed. As usual, a big waste of time, and a few LAMBS one liners for both sides.
Regan was the fucking problem. He started all of this shit we are in now.
The jig is up! The Republicans finally got their message out to the folks and the progs cannot deny it anymore. If Gergen gets it, they cannot pretend the Republicans are dolts (some exceptions of course). As the Health Care Summit is disected and talked over, it will leave a bitter taste in even more Americans mouths. Buh bye 2700 pages of Health Care BS! You may try to shove it down our throats, but I don't think you have a prayer and if you try to push down our throats anyways, we will come against it in the fall.
Now the big question is, where is the new Reagan?
Obama looked like the pampered and protected fool he is. Not in charge except by fiat, not informed beyond talking points and absolutely nothing the world hasn't heard before. Dems esentialy told long winded boring stories of the horrors of hangnails and jock itch. Reps on the other hand looked organized informed , They commanded the mantle of populism in the first public forum where more then the most wonkish politicos watched. Three cheers for the Reps watch the poles for the next three days for gains in generic Reps and then in forth and fifth for the POS OTUS numbers to dump. The eyes were pn the Reps and they did not disapoint they did not come off as obstructionist they came off as defenders of liberty.
Don't know about Cantor being a rising star or a shooting star? But did appreciate Cantor's preparations, including specific metrics, facts and reference based arguments. There is nothing this 2-party system can do to turn back time; they went way too far. The RNC is just as corrupt as the DNC, and the DNC are a bunch of free-loading fakes. From the perspective of corruption, these conglomerates are Siamese twins.
Cantor, Ryan, and Alexander all threw fastballs right down the middle as he toked a doobie. I didn't have the chance to watch all of it. Zero looked pretty somber and defeated, in my not so humble opinion, when it ended.
Yep RR was correct.
Jock itch! That about sums up their argument!
POTUS believes, I mean really believes that he is the smartest person in the room. The purest definition of narcissism there is.
I am encouraged. I watched a focus group on Hannity tonight with Luntz and the folks on there really leaned towards the GOP's proposals. I feel like maybe the dam is breaking and the more conservative practical proposals will gain more popularity as they are brought out to the folks who don't do their homework.
For a man who said he was there to listen, Obama sure did a lot of lecturing to everyone. Now "We the People" have about 6 weeks to make it clear to Congress that there will be severe consequences for anyone who attempts to push this bill through with Reconciliation.
hmmm why JAKE LINGLE? Something more we should know?
When I heard the "baby steps will not take us where we need to be" comment from BHO, it told me all I needed to know.
It's clear that with this phony "reaching out to Republicans" moment out of the way, and allowing a few days for the MSMedia and blogoids to do their thing, reconciliation is their goal.
Found this on Atlas Shrugs..Hilarious Glenn Beck.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOzoONjwu5M&fe...
The republicans made me proud today! Thanks guys!!!!! We needed it.
New Reagan? Tough to say…still. I will say the Republicans looked good and a few guys sttod out.
Who knew LaMarr Alexander had that in him? Seriously.
Well said Mr. Ross, if that old political hack Gergen can see what happened today, it's pretty obvious to all.
Evin the clows at MSNBS are pretty subdued tonight.
Reject this bill, reject this crazy Democrat party, reject this President.
This craziness of a healthcare bill is about bureacrats interjecting themselves into our lives, in between ourselves and our doctors. That is NO place fpr a government lackey.
There is no reform without tort reform and insurance portability, there will be no real reform without eliminating special deals for unions special bribes for certain states.
Outrageous.
Well said Mr. Ross, if that old political hack Gergen can see what happened today, it's pretty obvious to all.
Apparently the pace must have picked up a little later…
lol
Good question all the ones I like don't have the charisma or the desire…
When Gergen said this was the best day the GOP had in years the others in the panel went silent because they knew the lie about the GOP not having a plan and being stupid was completely shot down. But when I looked at Pelosi ,Reid, Rangel, Dodd ,Durbin I saw old wore out corrupt scumbags who have lived the high life at the taxpayers expense. Obama laid a trap and walked right into it, not to smart.
truth be told it all struck me as theatre on both sides. Show me a genuinely new idea that came up and I'll concede im wrong. Otherwise its all pandering.
Ronald Regan was nothing special, he just knew how to articulate how simple problems in life are, if you resolve them for yourself, instead of hiring the government to do it for you!!! On second thought, maybe he was something special!!! Without Regan the technology we enjoy and they use against us would not exist!!!! For every good, there is an opposite, the aspirations of freedom, have given them the tools of oppression!!! Kind of like "Al Gore invented the internet", now we are using it against him, but that is a good thing, it was envisioned as another indoctrinating tool, but it has evolved as one that enlightens, now they want to ban (Regulate/Restrict freedom) free access to it! It's content must be controlled, before they loose control of the narrative (The book they write for us is not intended to be fiction, they intend it to be reality, no matter how "Far Fetched" it seems)!!
Brevity is the soul of wit. The Republicans said more in their fraction of the time than the democrats and potus combined.
Now I know why the dems never wanted CSPAN to cover the proceedings all year. They never would have gotten even this far.
'Long winded, boring stories of hang nails and jock itch!' That is classic and very very funny! Explains the BS we heard all day long from these fools. I loved the 'dead sisters teeth' speech! I guess no one bothered to tell this 'Learned' fool about Medicare! Thanks for the good laugh. It made my day!

"Now the big question is, where is the new Reagan?"
I'm with Stephen Crowder. We need to stop looking for a white knight to lead us, and instead pick a principled person who will do what he/she says, and listen to the people. All these calls for some great Conservative leader is going to cause us to wind up with someone who says all the right things, even if it means saying things they know aren't realistic (not to mention someone who says the right things even though they're not really leadership material).
I feel like I pretty much know who the major players are in Washington politics, and indeed I knew all but two of the people at today's summit; the "dead sister's dentures" Dem from NY, and LaMarr Alexander. I can see why the Republicans chose him to lead off. He really did a fantastic job of highlighting the fundamental differences between the parties' positions. Won't be forgetting him anytime soon, and I hope we hear some more from him in the future.
Gergen is the mouth piece of conventional wisdom and is about as useful as forecasting yesterday's weather. The summit was so bad for the Democrats that their only options now are to ignore it and try to insulate Mr. Obama from any negative fall out. Gergen did that tonight with his opening remarks praising Mr. Obama for hosting the gathering and then being gracious. Anyone who even remotely paid attention to the event knows that Mr. Obama was not gracious but the MSM has to protect him even from himself.
For a supposed Constitutional Lawyer, Obamby sure fell for many leading questions. I think the Republicans had their strategy all planed out. The first 90 mintes they tried to interject some ideas but were shut down every time. So they went with plan 'B' and went after language that proved their points that this is unworkable in it's present form! They out played the Chicago machine at their own game. I loved every minute of it and finaly glad to see the Republicans starting to have some intestinal fortitude!

The insufferably smug look on "because I'm the president" Obama really gave it all away. What a buffoon. What an imbecile. I am SO ASHAMED this man is our president. Harry Reid desperately trying to tell the Republicans and TV cameras that they were the only ones who ever said anything about "reconciliation," (who, me?) Pelosi agitating wildly that there really, really was no abortion funding in the bill, as if no one else can read. What open, transparent, despicable lies! What pathetic posturing! They don't even try to pretend anyone actually believes them, so deep is their antipathy for the American People. Anyone who can't see through the sham I watched on TV today truly is mentally challenged – no wonder they want "free" health care; they sold their individualism and dignity years ago.
Words cannot convey my utter contempt at such a sleazy bunch of buffoons. Has the republic sunken to this? Sadly, it has.
Don't be naive … this group of "progressives" would throw tens, even hundreds of thousands of Americans into an Auschwitz tomorrow if they thought they could get away with it. They will never back down, never. Their hand has been called, and they have nowhere else to run. Obama would suspend the constitution in a heartbeat to nail the coffin on this constitutional republic.
The election of Brown in Mass. caught them by surprise in their smugness, but they won't let honest democratic voting get in their way again from keeping the reigns of power. The federally mandated and paid-for voting machines in most major cities are in place – they are easily hacked, and they will be used this November. Mark my words, much worse is coming. Having become golems long ago, these people have no soul left.
Reagan has been right all along and the demonstration of arrogance on the part of Obama and the Congressional leadership was in plain view for any other than the worst idealoges. Only a true narcissists would call a meeting in a national setting and be that ill prepared on their own proposal.
"How did the President do?"
Not bad for a first term senator. That turns out to be where he should of stayed. God help us if he ever holds a summit between Israel and the Middle East!
I think that is exactly why the prevailing feeling after this political show is that Obama and the Democrats blew it. They brought nothing new, and the Republicans made it clear that despite the constant reiteration of the Democrat talking point that the Republicans have no ideas, they proved that they not only have opposing ideas for reform but also that they've had these ideas out there all along. Not only did Obama fail to paint them as obstructionists, he ended by basically telling the Republicans that if they don't get on board in six months, he'll just go with Reconciliation.
Today was pure theater, set up by and for the benefit of Obama and the Democrats, and they performed miserably while the Republicans played their roles to a T.
[...] More from Frank Ross at Big Journalism: ‘Health Care’ Summit/Photo Op Overnight Thread: So How’d He Do? [...]
Was I the only other person kind of creeped out by Obama's declaration at the end that they were going with Reconciliation, and if the people don't like it, well that's what elections are for. He has to know by now that continuing to go down this path will destroy his party in November, yet he made this statement as if it were of no concern to him. Made we wonder if he knows something about the upcoming midterms that we don't…
David Gherkin is a mealy mouthed omega male who talks like he has a mouth full of dill slices. If he had any less gravitas he'd float off into cloud cuckoo land where everyone who thinks he has any credibility lives. He's living proof that there is such a thing as a perfect vacuum, because there's one between his ears for all the thinking world to marvel at.
I say he should donate his head to science. Post haste.
I only listened because I can’t watch him (tired of listening as well – same old lies). He was supposed to “listen”, but as he hogged the time, he mostly listened to himself. I couldn’t have been more happy with our representatives. It was obvious they had worked hard and had studied the bill. I don’t know that we could have done better if we’d represented ourselves. I loved that they brought the tome with them and quoted from it. Their quotes couldn’t be debated though the, I Won, did cut them off which was fine as it was televised and couldn’t be chopped for bites. Our reps stayed respectful and presented a strong case. They’re committing hari kari if they force this nasty commiecare on us. The Dims will be forever destroyed. One wonders if that was the intent? The Booger Blumenthals will say, I Won, handled himself well, a strong leader, blah, blah, but he was bested even though he had the deck stacked for him. Perhaps he looked stronger as I only listened otherwise my take is a resounding F.
PS: All those stories about going to ER and not being treated is a big whopping,You Lie, doesn’t happen, I know for sure as I work in the healthcare field. As for the Congresswoman with the denture story, what an embarrassment. I’m a NY’re and was humiliated, not only for myself, but my fellow normal Dems.
FYI: Never bring your dentures to the hospital because they’ll get thrown out with the linen. It’s been happening for decades and will continue to happen. Hospitals replace hundreds annually, no matter what safety measures they take, the cost is in their annual budget.
I really like Stephen Crowder, but when I am asking that question I mean that person would is principled, will do what he/she said, listen to the people, understand the constitution, and act as a true leader….that was Reagan. We are going to need someone that will not skim over the cold hard truths we are going to have to face as a nation in the next decade or two. We are in deep poop, it just hasn't hit the fan yet. We are about to head into a time of cold reality….and they must have a deep conviction to the foundation of this country to lead us back into liberty.
Well, like even the WashPost reported, HISSELF pledged to listen and he did, fully 68% of the time. That included the 119 minutes he got to hear HISSELF speak, and the 114 minutes he allowed his comrades from Californication, Kneevada and elsewhere across the fruity plains tell their heartwrenching stories. He didn't even interrupt that one old lady's tale about using some corpse's false teeth which I was sure was going to be objected to by someone as a fabrication stolen from Thomas Harris's book, Red Dragon. With the single exception of interrupting his own numbnutted sidekick, Joe Bidden, who everyone wanted to shut up, he was absolutely gracious to all those true guests on his right side. Of couse he had to correct a few of those special ed students on his left, who just couldn't pay attention to what He has been saying all along. I just hope he follows through now on his pledge for health care. I got my free house in July, my free car in October, and not a big, but decent bonus in January but NOW is the time to deliver on the health bennies if he wants my vote in '12. Power to the peebles.
It's really to early to see hints of that person yet. We still have a solid year before we begin to see the possibilities. I missed LaMarr Alexander and admit I had never heard of him before today. I will be looking for the Youtube posts of him tomorrow though! From what I have heard he was the perfect choice in contrast to the shrill Pelosi.
My senator, Sen. Murray told the same story she did when she went to the Senate floor to debate the health care bill. She did no homework, contributed nothing, had no ideas. Obama's team has no ideas. Only Rep. Wyden, do I respect and Rep. Stupack on the democratic side.
Wasn't the denture dem something? I just love the examples of these folks and their stories the libs dig up or make up. I think we ought to start demanding they bring these folks as examples….Nah! I take that back, they would hire someone from ACORN…or whatever it is called these days. I am going to be checking out LaMarr Alexander as he is new to me….have you seen anything on Thaddeus McCotter yet? That man is masterful with words and debating…don't know much else about him yet though. I will be watching and waiting and soon we will know.
Charisma is going to be important after the One. I am feeling more hopeful again after today's dog and pony show of the dims. I should be an interesting couple of years as we head towards the next two election cycles….I want to breathe deep again. ;^)
Nah! You were right to take a nap and walk the pup! I am wired to tight, when my blood pressure goes up I cannot sleep….
made a world class fool of himself trying to feed his narcissism. He made sure the world saw what a phony, empty headed, lying hypocrit he is and how he wouldn't answer questions. The icing on the cake? Picking his nose infront of 30 million people. We have a wonderful invention in this country Barry, it's called a kleenex or handkerchief. Most surprising is he didn't eat his snot after he went digging for it
Love this: –President Barack Obama. To quote Benjamin Disraeli, "A sophisticated rhetorician, inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity." If only he would talk less, and think more.

"… ill prepared on their own proposal"
You're not being fair. How could anyone prepare for a proposal that did not exist? There are two 2000+ pages of montrosity that no one has read or understood. The president's 11 pages summary may or may not appear in either one of the two 2000+ pages. The Senate's version differs from the House's version. So what proposal are you talking about?
We need to get back the RESET botton from Putin.
Regan was the fucking problem. He started all of this shit we are in now. Woah Woah Woah Pay Cable we get the point! Who was Regan? I thought it was still GWB’s fault?
Sen. Alexander was the governor of Tennessee from 1979-87. He was then US Sec. of Education from 91-93 and is now a second term Senator from Tennessee. I've always liked him, very low key but knowledgeable. He really made Pelosi look like the loon she is!
Uh, wanna try that again? Maybe when you've had less to drink?
Is that ever true.
I was saying earlier that he's 15 years and some actual private business experience (even as a private practice lawyer) from being the president of anything, much less our country.
I confess I can hardly stand to watch Duh 1 these days. He is the most arrogant, self-absorbed twit I've seen in a long time. And this "summit" was a low point for him and his Democrat buds.
I was proud of the Republicans, though. I think they did a credible job and showed that maybe there's hope.
Wolfe: President Obama for $200.00
Thank you for the background info. He is on my list of people to research. I was watching FNC and I heard someone make the comment that the contrast between Pelosi and Alexander was stark. Pelosi was bad, Alexander was good….cannot remember at the moment due to fatigue.
I love the pic of your Cardigan Corgie…precious!
ObamaCare in foot-ball terms
The Democrats (RATS) came on the field with a large team advantage over the Republicans (GOPS) in both offense and defence (House/Senate). They also brought their own referee, Obama (OBOZO). No coin flip, OBOZO simply declares the RATS will start with the ball on the 50 yard line while the GOPS will sit on the bench.
The RATS huddle and start, by the 4th down they have not made any progress. Then OBOZO calls a 20 yard penalty on the GOPS (still on the bench). Next, because of a series of fumbles, dropped passes and generally running into each other, the RATS could not get any closer to the goal. They looked to OBOZO for more help but unfortunately he was mugging for the press.
Now it's the 2nd half, the RATS get the ball again on the 50 and OBOZO has announced a new rule where the GOPS are required to discuss their playbook with the RATS, then go back and sit on the bench.
Meanwhile the crowd seems to be getting restless, will the RATS be able to score?
No matter what nonsense the Senate cooks up, it will all die in the House…
These guys know where the people really stand on this gov'ment takeover of healthcare and will vote it down.
.Any member voting for it will in all likelihood be summarily ousted….IMO…
What an amazing "let them eat cake" moment, eh?
He totally lost control. Well played, R's.
Too funny. Thanks for sharing.
I don't know. Gergen is, generally, relatively honest. I think he rightly gave the Lightbringer kudos for holding the thing. Yeah, he whitewashed his frustration moments a bit. He sees the bottom of the DNC and he's squirming. Hannity was piling it on -fine with me- and I think he reflexively defended the dimmies all he could. I thought Father whatshisname was excellent.
Once again, the stage was set for Obama to look good, make fools of his enemies, save the day, etc., ya know, the delusional theatrics of the modern American left wing – and he ended up: 1.) Again revealing his arrogance: "I'm pretending to give a frog's patooty about what the people want and what the opposition party has to contribute, but I actually have nothing but contempt for anyone who doesn't give me what I want sprinkled with praise and groveling a la Mao, Castro & Chavez." 2.) Again revealing to the American people that he quakes with rage and fear at the reading or mere presence of an actual copy of the Bill itself, evidenced by the fact that he angrily referred to it as 'a prop'. 3.) Again reminding everyone present that he is the president, not John McCain, by scolding McCain, a war hero, saying contemptuously that the 'campaign is over', and also by saying smuggly, 'I'm the President' to waves of sycophantic giggling. 4.) Again revealing that he is not informed of the facts regarding the Bill or it's fiscal consequences when he shouted multiple 'NOs' in response to the raised fact that the CBO projected that insurance premiums would rise, but then later had to admit he was wrong, and that premiums would indeed rise as a result of the Bill's passing. 5.) Reaffirming that he has no intention of starting over, removing the 17 tons of pork and goodies for cronies or eliminating far left provisions like free abortions for all and more frivolous law suits for trial lawyers, or including Republican provisions, or listening to the American People. And finally, 6.) Removing all doubt that he will be viewed by posterity as the worst president in American history.
Right down the middle, O'Golly –grim as hell but beautifully said.
He needs his Greek columns back.
Obama is the MOST arrogant, self serving excuse for a President I have ever seen!! He had NO INTENTION of allowing the Republicans to offer anything…case in point:" I will shove this through with/ or without the GOP!!" If even ONE republican votes for this massive illegal health care package…they will BE GONE in the next election!!!
I watched most all of the health care summit, probably more than the yawning attendees. What I heard and saw reinforces my original opinion, either start over and actually try to come together on a bipartisan bill, or stop altogether. Democrats, justifiably, are going to get massacred at the polls in November if they ram the existing garbage bills through. Yesterday was the first time these bills had any Republican input whatsoever and it was clear our previous judgments on the bills were spot on. Either start over or stop. If Congress does either there's hope for Democrats in November. However, if they they choose to press on against the will of the American people, the November2010 election will be taught in schools for years to come.
Also, the USA has not seen a great and awesome, or inspiring leader, since the gifted Ronald Reagan left the White House. The Government has long since evolved to that of a ponzi sham.
Although not exciting, it was interesting. I came away from it with a few clear impressions: 1. Obama was clearly not up to crunching numbers with Lamar Alexander or Paul Ryan. . 2. Obama came across as a combination boring lecturer bully who did not have his facts straight. 3. It was clear that the Dems objective was to show how close the Dems and the Republicans were. They failed miserably on that. 4. The Republicans won almost all the debate points. 5. Obama (the magnificent speaker) proved to be less than ordinary without his teleprompters. 6. The Republicans shifted their focus from being the party of no to clearly being the party of not this.
Rep, Paul Ryan was very, very impressive. Lamar Alexander as well. (Check out the Alexander's video footage on Breitbart tv; about 1:35 in Pelosi, Reid, Biden look like school children who were busted!)
Republicans were well prepared, concise and each had information to impart. The R's also demonstrated depth. For the D-rats it was all Obama. No one else stood out. His snippy (at times) petulance, facial expressions, and overall body language did not do him any favors. Nor did his personal story about car insurance. WTF! Is he really naive enough that he didn't understand what kind of auto insurance he had, or that every day Americans do not understand auto insurance?
I do credit the President for holding the forum – though suspect he probably did not expect it would go the way it did. In that he was pretty well schooled by the R's, it would be surprising to see him do one like it again. Best case: he learns something useful from it!!
I think they have been trying to give this message for a while now. But Gergen is acting like they just today finally had an idea. Maybe, just maybe, if there was one LAMB that could just break from the herd, the R's message could have been heard on CNN before today. I know it ain't gonna happen though.
I am just about begging the men that are supposed to be representing us to just tighten up that jock a little, drop the PC crap, and start really ripping their heads off! This is a war not fought by military men, but by those in suits. So suck it up boys. Quit being so damned nice and REPRESENT US FOR GODS SAKE. WE WANT NO PART OF THIS OBAMACARE.
The stinking Dems won't listen to us. Are you on the right going to? Now is the time to prove yourselves.
Joke of a meeting. Total waste of time.
Bigger joke of a President.
With all due respect, Frank Ross, I must say, it's not the Democrats' seat, or the Kennedys' seat — it's the peoples' seat.
LOL — I've been itching to say that!
No, seriously, thanks for the thought-provoking write-up. I think, on balance, that the Republicans got more bang for the buck. Of course, you can't rely on that, even though the Republicans were offering up plain ol' truth, while the Dims had some fancy propoganda they were shoveling.
So! Seven hours spent talking about a 2,000-page health-care-reform bill…and Obama gets ‘upset’ when someone actually BRINGS THE BILL TO THE ROOM. “How DARE you remind the audience how much of a disaster this whole bill is! And how DARE you connect me to it!”
Not passing healthcare is a loss for the president; passing healthcare as it is today is a bigger loss for the president; passing healthcare the people want is a big win!
I think "Maxine" says it best and puts all of this in good perspective:
Let me get this straight……we're trying to pass a health care plan
written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it, to
be signed by a president that also hasn't read it and who smokes, with
funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all
to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a
country that's broke.
What the hell could possibly go wrong?
Gergen just showed or inadvertently proved that Liberals like him never pay attention to what is really going on in the world. He lives in his Democratic Liberal m bubble and is ignorant about conservative ideas.
CNN and Gergen, both irrelevant hacks.
I caught some of it on TV, but had to go to another channel. Watching Maobama pontificate makes my eyes explode.
What I did catch left me cold:
McCain: "Mr. President, yadda yadda yadda…"
Maobama: "Well, JOHN, the campaigning is over…yadda yadda yadda…"
That PO's me on two levels:
1 — McCain showed proper respect to the office of the President by addressing him as "Mr. President."
2 — Maobama arrogantly, on national television, condescendingly addressed Senator McCain as "John," and proceeded to lecture him. That really tightened my jaws.
For Maobama to lecture ANYONE that the campaign is over is the height of hypocrisy and arrogance. He hasn't stopped campaigning since he threw his hat in the ring.
How did we ever elect such a classless, poorly-suited, and poorly-prepared chief executive?
Plenty has changed! The Republicans showed they are on the side of the American people. Party of Hell No!
Smirking man-child Obama showed what a mean, petty community agitator he is! "I'm the President" you're not!
Barry may think he is the smartest in the room, but I still haven't seen the proof of that. He may have gone to Harvard and graduated at the bottom of his class. We don't really know do we?
All I can tell about him is he has a very large ego that needs to be fed daily. So much for the vetting process.
Can't wait for 2012…………………
Thanks for putting the Reagan clip on there. I showed it to my 7 year old son, who already knows that Reagan was one of the greatest Presidents that ever lived, and one of the greatest leaders of any nation anywhere. Folks, we MUST teach our children when they are young, this is the only way to achieve victory and promote freedom.
There were NO surprises with 'O's' performence. Some things never change…for instance, his NEED to remind people that he's The President. Also, his desire and NEED to diminish those 'in his presence'. HIs actions tell me a lot more about him than it does about the others that were/are present.
Arrogance combined with little intelligence is a dangerous , to all of us, combination.
Kudos to those Republicans who had their thoughts organized, and spoke up.
Summit was not only a gutter ball, the ball went over two lanes from where it started.
I think everybody is missing the big point here. Originally Pres. Obama said this bi-partisan meeting was to go over the bill item by item to see which parts of the bill that everybody could agree on and see if they could find common ground on some of parts of the bill there was disagreement on. None of that happened. President Obama even chastised Republicans for even bringing the bils with them.
Just in case there was any doubt, Obama demonstrated once again that his is merely a little man with a big ego. Nothing more, nothing less.
The whole purpose of this summit, it anybody out there remembers, was to go through the bill line by line. That did not happen. In fact, Republicans were constantly chastised for even bringing up the bill. What a sham!
From where do they drag up these bathetic anecdotes? "…she had to wear her dead sister's dentures?!!" That's on a par with "…we were so poor, we had to light each other's farts to keep warm during the winter, and then – then came the Depression!" The late President Reagan was excoriated by the progs and the LAMBs for telling these folksy little anecdotes when explaining his policy decisions, yet the prog-dems nearly always bring up these little anecdotes to stir up emotions and play on the guilt feelings of their perceived adversaries. It only highlights the intellectual vacuity of the progs' proposals.
Cantor, Ryan, and Alexander were the bowlers and Reid, Pelosi, and the Prez were the pins (and they were all wearing open-toed shoes).
LTW, our esteemed Senator, Ms. Murray, has not had an original idea in her entire working life. Not even sure why she was there. Let us hope that the voters of the fine State of Washington will see the light.
Even the late Billy Mays and the Sham-wow/Slap-chop guy were more effective than this guy. If anything, Barry got "slap-chopped" by the Republicans. To quote from a recent You Tube video, "George Bush got C's – Obama probably failed lunch!"
Besides Obama's total lack of respect, what needs to be repeated over and over again is that Obama admitted that he had no intentions of honoring his campaign promises. The campaigning is over line was in response to Senator McCain's reminders of Obama campaign promises. I think Rush discussed this yesterday.
Oh yeah, and it was another "I won" moment.
Charlie Rose did a different take, using Joe Calafano and Donna Shalala to shore up Obama. And they made fools of themselves in the process.
In the end they admitted that Obama did NOT change the basic philosophy in the room.
I thought Obama sounded confortable and unscripted, but that only solidifies the notion that he is far left and doesn't even know it.
You know he's in trouble when, like Nixon, he declared, "I am not a socialist."
He, or "It" got elected by the "I don't live in the real world, All the house have picket fences and lets stay in fantasy land" liberals who can't take any resposibility for their screw ups. It's always somebody elses fault or things happen because what Bush did.
He also ran for President at some point – maybe 1988 or 1992? He didn't make it far in the primaries.
Thanks so much for this link! I heard it yesterday while listening to the radio show at work, and I was crying I was laughing so hard. I was just wondering if I could find it somewhere to send it to friends, when I read this post. Thanks again!
I don't know about the president, but Paul Ryan kicked some serious tush!!!
Obviously, if he were going to WAR, then, instead of "baby steps" to WIN…he would just NUKE the enemy first? Is that the logic….ONLY BIG GOVERNMENT ACTING WITH MASSIVE ACTIONS WILL DO ANYTHING AT ALL? Clearly, his total lack of maturity and experience is shining through the mantel of rhetoric and "cool" facade.
After a year of this empty suit, I have lost ALL awe over the Harvard Law School, and now believe that ANYONE who has ever been elected Editor of the Law Journal and graduated cum laude, are just nothing special AT ALL. What an eye opener. What a huge waste of tuition and fees for TRULY BRIGHT, NOT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION Students!
Better Community College than Community Organizer pre-school at Harvard.
New Name for the Summit……"Denturegate"
The Bamster is the most arrogant politician I have EVER seen. I Wish McCain would have jack slapped that idiot for treating him like a little kid. Nothing new though – except the Republicans finally made their point. No plan? Barry admitted he had read their plan(s) and then said they didn't have a plan(s).
The Dems were shown up so badly, The pithy, testy, angry remarks by our President were so unpresidential that I was embarrassed for him…It gave away that manufactured aura; that charm that was so well crafted during the campaign, and what came through was the thin skinned attitude; the caustic remarks were fast and furious because they don't have a leg to stand on, so they attack! I actually felt sorry for them…they are totally pathetic…This dog and pony show in a way worked in the Republican's favor…they had their talking points in order; Ryan, Alexander, Cantor were fantastic; the prop the President mentioned was the very same sham of a bill that he is trying to shove down our throats! Unbelievable….they brought up very uncomfortable points that our President did not want to hear; and showed the Dems up badly…I was very insulted by the looks and body language of Pelosi, Biden, Reid and the President when Alexander was talking; so bored and far removed, that it gave away their true feelings about so called bipartisanship, it is all B.S. and for this Kabuki show…it was theatre, done by summer stock actors but this play closed ;in one night because the script of the author stunk; and the actors were terrible…This party of no moniker they give the Republicans is wrong, but even if they were, in a Republic you must say no to bad legislationl; you must say no to the takeover of our country by the left. You can be sure, this bill is DOA…if anything, it is on life support; so why not pull the plug Reid, like this bill wants to do to the elderly. Reid wouldn't dare use reconciliation in this political climate…it is just a scare tactic…If they don't start from a clean slate, healthcare is gone..in the three years this President has left. His Presidency is in shambles, and it is the fault of Axelrod, Emmanuele, and the rest of the gang that can't shoot straight….a pity but when you go against the wishes of the people you represent you will get called out…
Thanks! He's pretty special! His call name is John Adams!
He's like a 16 year old kid who just got a key to the car for the first time, except he got a key to the White House.
That cracked me up!
