Mark Steyn is always right, whether he’s writing about Andrew Lloyd Webber or, in this case, the suicide-bomber-in-chief, Barack Obama, who doesn’t much care how many Democrats get sent to the electoral Elysian Fields — or even whether he gets a second term — as long as he can blow up the capitalist system from within. Excuse me — effect “fundamental change.” And what better way to get Hussein’s camel’s nose under your hospital gown than by taking over the American health-care system, all under the guise of “reform?”
Well, as Paddy Bauler once famously said, “Chicago ain’t ready for reform,” but the avatar of the Chicago Machine and the spiritual heir of Hinky-Dink Kenna and Bathhouse John Coughlin certainly thinks America is ready for reform.

But let’s let Steyn pick up the story:
Why is he doing this? Why let “health” “care” “reform” stagger on like the rotting husk in a low-grade creature feature who refuses to stay dead no matter how many stakes you pound through his chest?
Because it’s worth it. Big time. I’ve been saying in this space for two years that the governmentalization of health care is the fastest way to a permanent left-of-center political culture. It redefines the relationship between the citizen and the state in fundamental ways that make limited government all but impossible.
Republicans seem to have difficulty grasping this basic dynamic. Less than three months ago, they were stunned at the way the Democrats managed to get 60 senators to vote for the health bill. Then Scott Brown took them back down to 59, and Republicans were again stunned to find the Dems talking about ramming this thing into law through the parliamentary device of “reconciliation.” And, when polls showed an ever larger number of Americans ever more opposed to Obamacare (by margins approaching three-to-one), Republicans were further stunned to discover that, in order to advance “reconciliation,” Democrat reconsiglieres had apparently been offering (illegally) various cosy Big Government sinecures to swing-state congressmen in order to induce them to climb into the cockpit for the kamikaze raid to push the bill through. The Democrats understand that politics is not just about Tuesday evenings every other November, but about everything else, too.
Naturally, the in-the-tank Washington press corps doesn’t get it; it’s too busy charting the minutiae of the horse-race and the nose-count. But even a heartland rube knows that when an amoral, sociopathic, malignant narcissist — in other words, a typical graduate of the Punahou School, Columbia College, and Harvard Law — tells you he’s doing something for your own good, it’s time consider alternative motives.
Read the whole thing. And, while you’re at it, read this New York Times puff piece about Obama’s brain, David Axelrod, the former Chicago Tribune reporter who has made a handsome living working both sides of the street and already seems to be eyeballing the exits, ready to bolt as soon as the Commander-in-Chief announces, “Mission Accomplished.”

Obama's plan is to Rahm is through,,,
And this is why whenever the Republican Senatorial Campain Committe calls me for money, I ask if a manager is listening, and I riducule them. I want some one who will fight the malignant pro-government Unionists and Socialists elites who want to dominate my government, my health care and my soul. I hate these bastards and I want fighters in the Senate – not Gramms, McCains, Specters, Collins and Snow-jobs.
A lot of conservatives seem to grasp the idea of Islamic extremists who proclaim "we love death more than you love life", but don't allow for the possibilty that extreme leftists may cherish "the fundmental transformation of America" more than a relection.
Randy we have more than a few Patrick Henrys who would say… "I know not what course others may take; but as for me… give me liberty or give me death!"
I have written about this before. Obama has never counted on a second term. He is driven by entrenched anger. He is showing everyone he is the boss. He may not be a successful president by ordinary standards but it depends how you define success. He believes at the very least he will inflict as much pain as possible on those who he considers to have unfairly benefited from our evil capitalist system or he will go down as the president who transformed the U.S. into the new Europe.
Humorous cartoon on "Waterboarding for Health Care Votes" at http://drawfortruth.wordpress.com/category/health...
One can only view Mr. Obama as a secular political jihadist, who, like any true jihadist, believes that America is an illegitimate Republic and must be brought to an end. He is not interested in "dialogue" or "compromise" or even "bipartisanship." Least of all he is not even interested in listening to the People. He has urged those, who care to listen, that the American People and not to be listened to. Instead, they are to be disregarded, marginalized and isolated as extremists too ignorant to reason beyond their own wrath. At all levels he discredits the People of America and this great country in which they live. He is a jihadist, and like any extremist, he means to win at all costs. For him it worth sacrificing politicians and careers, and refuses to be responsive to the will of the people, so long as he is successful in destroying our Republic. He is not deaf. He is a secular jihadist ideologue.
I wanna be Mark Steyn when I grow up.
Just like Beck says, when they are waving one hand in front of you, the real trick is in the hand you cannot see. It's all about power.
Suicide bomber in chief?
Yeah. Liberals are TOTALLY exaggerating when they call you guys a bunch of nutbags.
Totally.
So, when the House finally passes this Obamanation called Health Scare, the Senate version in toto, I doubt that it will go back to the Senate for reconciliation. Instead, it will magically appear on Obummer's desk and he can sign it into law. Like lemmings, Obummer's sycophants will have willingly thrown themselves under the bus. Talk about useful idiots….
We must face the fact; if this 'healthcare reform' bill is passed, the only solution left to save the nation will be mass civil disobedience in the form of refusal to cooperate with the mandate and/or refusal to file our income taxes or pay them. I'm not sure enough people realize that even if the Left is defeated in 2010, if this bill is law, it won't matter. It will only be a matter of time till we are all slaves of the state unless we rebel immediately.
Extreme, I know but if anyone can think of anything else that might work (and this might not work or enough might not participate), speak up and let us know what can be done.
I checked it that was good. Thanks. Nancy still denies approving Wbing and asking what else they could do. she lies.
Here's one —
Greeting from the receptionist to the elderly under proposed Obamacare: "The embalmer will see you now."
.
But he does a great beer summit
Considering the Pyrrhic victory that passing "health care reform" would represent to the POtuS, and the dims in congress, "Suicide Bomber-In-Chief" is hardly overstating the case.
http://cheezburger.com/View.aspx?aid=2689002496
I wouldn't say he's a suicide bomber, but the Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers has his firebombing friends in low places and some political "suicides" showing up in chicago — 2 in 2009. Obama is a socialist mullah that lets the media use the red mop to clean up after him.
-RNC convention MN, 2 comm. organizers caught red-handed, convicted, trying to firebomb delegates (9-2008)
-Sarah Palin's church firebombed in Wasilla, AK with people inside (12-14-2008)
-Governor Perry TX, governor's mansion firebombed (6-2009)
-Beat down of black man Tea Partier, Kenny Gladney by SEIU members, caught on tape St. Louis, MO (8-2009)
-Shot fired at Lou Dobbs at his home (11-2009)
Is that the kind of people that should be running the country?
.
Wonder how much more crazier/paranoid you wingnuts would be with a gay atheist president even if he was conservative.
–RNC convention 9-2008 –Two community organizers were caught red-handed trying to firebomb delegates.
–Sarah Palin's church was firebombed on 12-14-2008
–Governor Perry's mansion firebombed 6-2009
It is an interesting question, politically. Why continue to push this thing so hard after every last shred of support has fallen away from this bill and the Democrat Party likes smoking in ruins? And why does the threat of the November elections not phase them? The stated inside-the-belt wisdom is that if they don't pass it, they'll have nothing to show for a year of work and the voters will reject them at the polls in November, but that can't be the reason now. They've got to see that passing it now will be a bigger boondoggle than not passing it, since it will immediately raise taxes but not change health care for years.
My theory, which I haven't seen many people pick up on, is that Obama or even his administration is not really in charge. If you watch him closely, there are certain indicators, like how he always uses his telemprompter to stay on script. The biggest clue recently is the doctors report telling him to stop smoking and drinking. This guy is not acting like a leader of the U.S. There are other subtle hints, like how he cavalierly refers to being president as "the best job in the world", like its so easy and he doesn't have to make any decisions. We know its certainly not Howard Dean and his ilk controlling the administration, because Dean was against the modified bill. To my mind, it is highly likely that there is some high dollar cabal of hard core leftist donors with an agenda and a plan that are pulling the strings. (I'm not a conspiracy theorist; think Soros and the like.) It's easy to see that the administration can't really believe the flimsy excuses they give. I mean who takes Gibbs seriously? Something is seriously messed up in this administration.
and then accept the United Nations President position.
Fresh Prince of Bill Ayers has friends in low places. Also some political suicides turning up in Chicago, 2 in the last year. Also:
–RNC convention 9-2008 –Two community organizers were caught red-handed trying to firebomb delegates.
–Sarah Palin's church was firebombed on 12-14-2008
–Governor Perry's mansion firebombed 6-2009
–beat down of Kenny Gladney, black Tea Partier, by Obama supporting SEIU members ST Louis, MO

On another note, please add Tom to the troll list!
I read Styne's article and found this part to be even more interesting…..No matter who the Pres is, he is solely a caretaker of the existing bureauacracy, If the is not starved of money, the beast thrives and grows..W is proof…
" The short history of the postwar welfare state is that you don't need a president-for-life if you've got a bureaucracy-for-life: The people can elect "conservatives," as the Germans have done and the British are about to do, and the left is mostly relaxed about it because, in all but exceptional cases (Thatcher), they fulfill the same function in the system as the first-year boys at wintry English boarding schools who for tuppence-ha'penny or some such would agree to go and warm the seat in the unheated lavatories until the prefects strolled in and took their rightful place".
"Republicans are good at keeping the seat warm. A big-time GOP consultant was on TV crowing that Republicans wanted the Dems to pass ObamaCare because it's so unpopular it will guarantee a GOP sweep in November.".
Steyn is right. Once health care is passed, all politics will be centered upon health care and the political dialog will be all about who can best deliver the socialist program to the open beaked hatchlings awaiting in the nest. Traditional conservatives can't compete with liberals in the game of "who can best provide for the parasites". The host needs to break away from the parasites and create a political system of self determination and let the parasites cannibalize themselves into extinction.
Buying their votes with your money to take away your liberty, never sounded like such a good deal.
We need a special Presidential CD set with more propaganda, America doesn't seem to "understand" very well.
Also, can't hardly wait to go to post office style clinics and be treated with the same wonderful indifference
perfected by some of the greatest communistic bureaucracies.
Obama was all smiles when he was getting the bill votes. Now he is less smiles as he tries to work the system to get votes. After November, when he loses the majorities, we will see the radical come out more and more with each passing day.
We would all like to see it that way. & then our president & his administration would not be insane. However, the truth is, whether it be obama or soros, they are both narcissistic & they love to see American citizens die. Not consciously for them, of course, because they are blinded by the finite power. But, our death is what comes of their empowerment.
Finite power kills. & who is behind it matters less than what happens if we fail to stop it.
The host needs to break away from the parasites and create a political system of self determination. That has to happen at the state level.
Oh, and when I say political "suicides"– I mean the kind where people are actually DEAD, as in bodies found.
Like the Vince Foster kinda dead.
— not the kind where they just lose their jobs, that would be the Repuublicans.
With much admiration of – and kudows to – Mark Steyn, many of us recognized, and have been screaming about Obamacare not being about "healthcare" since this crap began. It's about control, fundemental life changing control.
It's a paradigm change – MASSIVELY LEFT. It grows bureacracy exponentially. It puts us under the thumb of "the Man".
The trick is that it's makes paying taxes SEEM "worth it". See what citizens of Massachusettes think. They know their "free healthcare" is on an unstatainable cost trajectory up, up and away.
I interviewed French citizens last summer while I was in Europe for an extended period. Generally "yes" they like the "free" healthcare and "er, yes" they generally, but not enthusiastically and grudging "like" paying the higher taxes associated with "free".
That's the point, nothing is free.
Your mother and father told you that (well just mother in Obama's case, cause, well ya know – DADDY SPLIT early)
HPD
Good pull from the article…Styne is really brilliant, an amazing take on this fluid situation, I've had trouble wrapping my arms around…
I would also throw in the point that Obama, even as a one term-er, will be able to live out his sorry life in luxury; one of the few Americans I know of who can honestly say he NEVER had a real job, like one in the shrinking private sector…..
Obama LIED the ECONOMY DIED.
Context skippy, context. He's not saying "suicide bomb" people. Obama is rhetorically "bombing" (pick the day)—>>
(a) insurance companies
(b) Las Vegas (why I don't know why, I guess he's never been there)
(c) The previous admin – who haven't made a decision in over a year, this failure is all Obama's
(d) Fox News – who, unlike MSM refuses to sit in his lap being petted like Dr. Evil's Mr. Bigglesworth
etc. etc., etc.
Good list
…and that mansion belongs to the people of Texas – all of us, all proud Texans.
To bad the citizens didn't catch that perp. Curtains.
The Texas Rangers (not the ball club, the law guys) will catch and jail that puke.
You're right drifter.
I heard someone (Art Laffer?) say the best way to shrink the government is to just cut their budget and let them shrivel on the vine. They'll really like their new jobs in the private sector! If EPA is going to regulate CO2 on everybody — Cut their budget to the bone and they couldn't regulate lawnmowers if they wanted to. No brainer.
Dump the Dept of Education? Dump the IRS? Go to a fair tax? And, before we ration HC to single person in this country, Nancy Pelosi better be flying commerical coach.
What's so hard about this, other than overcoming the bureaucratic inertia?
.
I agree with jake. With the passage of this bill, election is moot (mute). Mass civil disobedience. These are lefties who burned down colleges, hijacked Columbia, Berkeley, and gave Bill Ayers a career. Somewhere in their closets are tie-dyed t-shirts. Kent State is the only language they speak — and will thus hear. So long as people grumble but go about their business — their business is done. Mass disobedience, protests, refusal to pay taxes, etc — en mass, and an overwhelming unit — not to be divided from the herd, one at a time — is the only effective response. Our forefathers would be proud.
Not if he "falls down the stairs".
If one of the Hillbuzz boyz were our CIC, I would feel calm and secure. They would biatch-slap you for your sloppy grammar, and tell you to get a job.
We prefer "resisted arrest, uh – several times" in Texas.
lol! and get a haircut — and get your feet of the coffee table Sane, sheesh!
don't cross the Clintons!
James with all due respect, most Frenchmen are clueless to American exceptionalism, and what it means to live in a society with the 'rights' afforded to us under the constitution…
I am of the opinion that if Europeans had had a taste of what we have enjoyed, there would be no EU today…Let alone Obamadon'tcare.
Remeber the paradigm shift, Obama is totally dedicated to creating a conservative under party, or as they call it in England a "permanent conservative minority".
There they toss the underling citizens circuses and bread and get away with massive government. I've been there, most people rent.
Property owners are a minority and renters, suckling on the NHS and the dole keep liberals permanently in control of the Commons, at least in recent decades.
Even under Thatcher and Major, they still had big governments and the NHS has been around for decades and Relief goes back to before WWI. England=Big governent.
So,
It's about power, raw pollitical power – and we're not going quietly, and Obama is getting angry.
Couldn't agree more.
Could you tell me about San Fran Nan Pelosi's actual district, please.
I know her husband is a extremely wealthy real eatate guy, I presume , having been to you beautiful city a handfull of times she represents the mainly upper midle class to more wealthy San Franciscans?
Is the Candle Stick Park area part of her district?
I believe that's the point….
He gets this health care abomination thru and their ( Dims) wet dream of a permanent BIG Gov'ment , is a bleak reality…In 100 years, IDIOCRACY, will come to pass..More dependency less initiative and freedom, not to mention taxes. Just sent Obama your check and he'll throw you back a few quid to buy some porridge..
It will be interesting times ahead….
US 4…
Ya. These elite liberals would want us to wander around saying "may I 'ave some more porridge sir?"
Screw dat. When this Socialist goes after the 2nd amendment, then we know the oppression is full afoot.
Then outright, all out rebellion.
Man, the filter is touchy.
I was saying we must defend the 2 n d – a m e n d m e n t- i t – s e c u r e s- t h e – o t h e r – r i g h t s.
James
Don't take this the wrong way, but put your mouse pointer on my avatar and tell me what you read…
See…that's why Florida conservatives love Texas…..so much alike…..
Considering I am an agnostic and have no fear of a rational gay conservative…I'd be OK with it.
See, your mistake was you believed your own propaganda. Conservatives don't care if your gay, just keep that crap out of schools and away from children. No we're not hypocrites, we want all sexual related nonsense out of schools. The whole "homophobic" rhetoric was started by leftists who projected thier own prejudices onto their perceived enemies. Sorry, try to not mix up yourlies next time.
Yes sir. The 2nd amendment guarantees the other rights. Despots understand the confiscation of arms and the danger or usurping well armed free men, and men of freewill.
yup. keep can their bedroom activities in THEIR bedroom, not in our face or marching the streets like circus freaks.
yup. FLA is a great state, been there many times, love the panhandle.
Even the goof balls in the Key West are a hoot.
I'd settle for exchanging brains with him. I could use the "upgrade"!
Good collection, you got "it" – keep swinging!
What’s wrong with wanting same rights that straight couples get (and being able to adopt etc)? Being gay is not a choice. If a gay president even looks at someone wrong they'll be all over him.
Obama strikes me as a bully who has never been in a real fight. He acts like one who feels that he can talk his way out of anything if he finds himself overmatched. Watch his eyes & body movements when someone disagrees with him or won't acquiece to his demands. I'm waiting for some of his enemies (Dem or Repub) to be visited by his friends from Chicago.
He seems increasingly nervous or upset or unhappy because some men in Congress are not afraid of him. Some in Congress are experienced pros or combat vets who won't back down, and he does not know what to do about it. I thought I even saw him pout one time (but only for a second).
Maybe this is the way to go after him. Chalenge his every move & tie him up defending his every action and position.
If so, I hope somebody goes for it. He is a disaster for us all.
FSU_Phred '64
The 2nd Amendment is the ultimate weapon in the "Bill of Rights Arsenal".
I had never heard it expressed so succinctly before until I saw it the other day on one of HPD's posts….
Hope he don't mind, but I did give credit in the avatar… .
agreed, well put.
Where did I say I would deny anybody their rights? I don't see that anywhere here. I generally don't have an issue with gay citizens. I do have an issue with gay people putting their "gayness" in other peoples faces (so to speak).
By and by I'm generally neutral about peoples orientation, and I believe gay people ar "hard wired" gay. I've seen and read too much evidence that confirms that. That has never affected me, and as long as we're all forthright and honest, no biggie.
That said, gay peole generally support wacko Democrats, so I'm across the political spectrum from them, but even then, threre are gay GOPer's and we'd agree on ecomomic/fiscal issues.
I worked for a big hospital in Austin in the early/mid 90's, we had many gay patients, and I made many friends – they didn't push their beliefs on me and vis versa.
It's the 21st century for cryin' out loud, keep up to speed.
Ya, a guy shot himself, then threw himself in to the Chicago River. hmmm.
Another committed suicide overdosing on aspirin?
here, read this. see who we really have a problem with.
"San Francisco: Muslims who shot gay man in the face admit they came to city to target gay people"
The three men, Shafiq Hashemi, 21, Sayed Bassam, 21, and Mohammad Habibzada, 24, the driver, were arrested.
According to Chan, they allegedly admitted to the crime.
"The suspects did make a confession, basically stating that they came to San Francisco to target gay people," he said….
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/03/san-francisco-m...
What’s yer opinion on "Don’t ask don’t tell" ending? There is still resistance from that on the republican side.
And you wonder why Tea Partiers are considered extreme?
Soros is the puppet master
Yet its the extreme right thats been doing the insulting/bullying with commie/marxist/impeachment threats and ignoring people who voted for the other side.
He does show his angry, radical side much more these days!
I wouldn't call myself a 'FreeThinker' if I were you…you do nothing more than spew the propaganda from your lefty friends…If you were really a FreeThinker, you would do your homework and find the TRUTH for yourself, instead of just taking some radical's word for anything!!
Scary because this is so terribly accurate. Obama will not let go of this pathetic health care plan and like a mad dog holding a bone between his teeth, he will not give up until the last Democrat lays down at his feet. The fact that he ignores the voices of americans, underlines the basic fact that indeed he is not one of us.
God save us from people who say they are doing things, "For our own good." People who are always saying this usually end up destroying your life and don't really care how their actions impact your life. I generally agree with the saying from that old show "The Odd Couple," "When I look back on the best times of my life, none of it was for my own good." The Democrats are going to pass their healthcare bill (and please, please, don't insult me by calling it a "reform") whether you like it or not. But what liberals never mention is, what are they going to do if this grand experiment does not work? Will we then need a "reform" of the healthcare "reform?" You see where all of this is going, don't you? Once this monstrosity goes into law, it will never go away, it will only be "reformed," which means it will be expanded and have even more money shoveled into it. More money for worse healthcare? What's not to love?
Obama HAS BEEN A BRILLANT SUCCESS at destroying the private sector of the greatest country on Earth, the United States of America. Fundamental change transforming a country that Obama hates is happening systematically every day on his schedule with his radical friends.
Its time for a party to step up and acknowledge if this bill is passed we need to Rollback.
I think we need to get the word out now that if this passes we the people we roll this back one way or another.
This is our liberty not the democrats. We all know this bill will finish us. We are not socialists, this is not how our Country started being dictated by a bunch of Chicago Thugs. Just look at what they did there. They all hide behind doors wheeling and dealing. If they were straight shooters this thing would be out in the open.
Do you even know what the Elysian Fields are? If you did you'd realize how freakin' hilarious this post is. Duh!
Pray
"Our turn comes in November."
Not if our fringe element acts like a spanked child. Obama will cancel this election under the guise of fear for the safety of our Democratic candidates.
All it'll take is a few whacked-out lefties like Stack or Bedell to attack or bomb something, blame it on "right wing extremists" and BOOM! No election.
Follow it up with a nice Cap & Trade bill passage and we're all screwed (i.e. collapse).
Chairman O and Queen Dingbat will reign supreme over us for years and years.
Extreme? No, extreme is another revolution. And I fear it's coming.
Yeah? Well, Liberals are TOTALLY incapable of identifying figurative speech and run away screaming their hysterical literal translations.
It's time to present obstacles in anyway possible.
Thanks for trying, Drone.
Is this just another way to call us "racists" "homophobes" and "Bible thumpers"?
<YAWN>
bjw, I hope I don;t come across as spamming the BIGs today, but I truly believe that the perceived indifference toward the November elections is because Barry is banking on "Tea Party wingnuts" (fringe extremists) to act-out with violence and will be forced to cancel the election for fear of violence against the "poor Dems."
Well, he's not gay but I would have no problem with voting for someone along the line of Penn Gillette who *is* an Atheist and *very* conservative. If Penn were running, I would certainly take a good deep look at his politics, as I did with Obama. Since you started with name calling, from my point of view those who still think the hard left is doing a good job are indeed "wingnuts" (your word).
Free Thinker, she said "do your homework" – not "follow Glenn Beck."
This is why you fail – you lack simple comprehension.
And you follow Obama – yet call US sheep????
ha ha ha ha ha!
Just wanted to add that I look forward to Frank Ross' articles here on BIG J.
If you read the comments, Frank: I'm a fan of your great writing and choice of topics!
1) resistance is on both side.
2) it isn't that it should/shouldn't be lifted, it's how to lift it without causing an adverse impact on military operations. Remember, homosexuality is an executable offense in some of the countries in which we have operations (Saudi Arabia, Yemen, UAE) and is punishable by up to a life sentences in several other countries, mostly Islamic.
No, not really true. Now, if you change that to read:
"A great many Republicans seem to grasp………"
then, I agree 100%.
All that.
Mark Steyn is the bomb.
Liberals run screaming from reality demanding that someone change it to fit their worldview.
……which is mentally deficient.
The biggest clue recently is the doctors report telling him to stop smoking and drinking.
To be fair, doctors tell that to everybody.
I was disappointed that no republican simply stated that the takeover of healthcare was unconstitutional and that we would have nothing to do with it no matter how the bill was tweaked. Rather, propose the only mandates that will lower costs, thereby making it more affordable; namely tort reform, portability, etc. And all of those 'tweaks' boil down to removing government and its strangling grip on the free market. If only a Rep rep had used the lasik surgery vs VA hospital example.
Stein's article is chilling but on the mark. The Democratic party is intent on cementing a society where the Government is the main player. They are doing it by increasing the population receiving entitlements, and thus making their votes captive to the Democratic party. This effort has very negative consequences. Since ever increasing entitlements cannot be sustained by the economy, it will implode, leaving the US to helplessly watch as capital takes flight, and entrepreneurship wanes. Cannot happen? Just look at Argentina, once with an economy almost the size of France. Most democratic voters do not wish for this scenario and are being duped by a leadership that will stop at nothing to achieve their "European dreams". Americans of all walks of life should raise their voices in protest, regardless of the hysterical name calling that will follow, from the intransigent left and their minions.
Truly he is one of the best minds and writers on the planet.
One of my favorite quotations from him – which I repeat often, as needed, is "If the theatre is on fire, I believe that you are certainly entitled to point that out." And he is right out in front, taking point in the battle to keep the arsonists – and the friends of the arsonists from taking away his right to point that out.
As the T-shirt says, "Viva Steyn!"
I'm in.
The Elysian Fields – a lovely mythological place where dead heroes were sent. In the context, it was a nicer, more poetical way of saying "so they would be Obama's heroes, after which he would callously say, 'There's the bus. Go get under it.'" Duh!
I think it's opening a can of complications and trouble that shouldn't be opened. Obviously gay/lesbian people have served in our military since our country has had a military, with pride and distinction.
That said, military operations are about the mission, not about social engineering. A attitude of "political correctness" has decended over our military that has given us a Jihadist in the psych corps and while in NO way am I equating the two, we've lost sight of the bigger picture.
Pregnancy rates in overseas units and Naval vessels are soaring (Duh put twenty somethings aboard floating cities) and these types of ancillary concerns are obviously not productive.
I think our military would be strenghtened by inclusion of every American that wants to serve – does serve. Complicating that dedication by bringing attention to one's self as an individual is generally contrary to what the military is all about. That is to kill our enemies anf blow up their stuff.
I wonder about and worry about the saftey of openly gay people in some of the close social situation the military neccessarily puts young people into ( barracks living, communal showering, general close living quarters)
The concept of should DADT work. Why "rock" the boat.
become a christian "scientist"they are exempt
become a christian "scientist" as they are exempt
