Koblog, if I could mod you up 100 I would do so. I lived in the JFK times, and really, the only thing the man accomplished were tax cuts. There was also an intangible he left, which was that the country was feeling very good about itself, and people had an optimistic viewpoint unlike anything we've had since. It may not have been him in particular, but the idea of a young and (seemingly) vigorous president did the country a hell of a lot of good.

As for "Bwahbee" (RFK), my opinion of him is best stated as follows: what happened at the Ambassador Hotel was a godsend.

It's all bad Karma from Joseph Kennedy's illegal booze business. The Kennedy money is all filthy lucre, tainted with booze and speakeasies and bribes to police etc.
These progressives pass an amendment (Prohibition) to "improve American's health" (sound familiar?) and then these same progressives use that law to make money by illegal means (sound familiar again?).
The first progressive was that snake in the garden, and it's been downhill ever since.

I used to be extremely embarrassed to be from Massachusetts, and the Kennedy clown clan is a big reason why. It's a shame that, until recently, such an essential part of the founding of this nation has been politically useless since 1775.
