That’s a sadder-but wiser David Shuster you see in the following teaser video on “media bias” from Mediaite, responding to off-camera questions from someone named Tommy “We Got Him“ Christopher. Watch in amazement as a chastened Shuster dodges, weaves, and rope-a-dopes Christopher as he simultaneously pacifies, propitiates and generally makes nice with Andrew Breitbart and James O’Keeffe, adamantly refusing to take the bash bait.
Shuster, you may recall, rather famously did battle with Andrew Breitbart and James O’Keefe over the latter’s arrest for his alleged involvement in an attempt to “maliciously interfere” with the telephones at Senator Mary Landrieu’s office. In this preview of our interview, I asked Shuster for his take on the position of people like Andrew Breitbart, Matt Drudge, and James O’Keefe in journalism. His responses were rather surprising.

That's a far cry from "you're going down James O'Keefe". Now all of a sudden "there's room for everybody"? It appears somebody didn't know how big a journalist Breitbart was when he attacked him. The slimly little toad is running to cover his hide.
He really screwed up with his tweet-frenzy. The MSNBC logo behind him and everything. I am not surprised he's pulled back so far. He will jump off the wagon at some point, but it's nice to see him trying to hold it together.
News personalities are not smart enough to be trusted with Twitter.

I agree. Hillary would have at least done some centrist things in order to stay politically viable. She wouldn't have been a particularly good president but I don't think she would have led us off the same cliff Obama is.
I have to disagree with the take some of you have. Shuster may very well have been yelled at by his bosses at MSNBC but not because he didn't have journalistic integrity. He simply showed their hand to a degree they didn't want. They had no problem airing wall to wall coverage of Watergate Jr., no problem with Chris Mathews making the claim that O'Keefe, at that moment was literally in a red jumpsuit for wire-tapping… MSNBC has not turned over some new leaf here. The fact that Shuster was reprimanded, while a bit of a victory in itself, is actually more disturbing because they are basically saying "don't give away the game, David. Our cause is too important." MSNBC's entire goal is to wear down the right day after day. Shuster just brought unwanted attention to their tactics.
Keep your eyes a little wide and blank. Show no interest or excitement.
When is Andrew Breitbart going to come up with an anti-Pulitzer prize for the most unprofessional journalistic performance of the year? Sort of a Razzies for journalists, or a Darwin Award (for people who do such incredibly stupid things that they deserve to get selected out of the gene pool). There is so much competition out there these days for the most incompetent performance by a leading journalist or political pundit, editor, or staff reporter. There needs to be some systematic recognition of their sustained incompetence and bias as an offensive form of public art which contributes to the progressive cause by promoting and rewarding failure in our society.
Chastened or not, Shuster still looks like a dog eating peanut butter when he speaks.
Or perhaps he's not enjoying the heat from his previous comments, and so actually is thinking about what he says before saying it.
