Andrew Breitbart was back on Dylan Ratigan’s MSNBC show this afternoon to talk about Elena Kagan.
Last appearance saw the debut of “jovial and measured Andrew,” while today it was all about the “irony mustache.”
“What exactly is an irony mustache?” asked Ratigan (and likely every viewer).
Here’ the explanation:
I told you when I was wearing a beard at the White House Correspondents Dinner that I would debut an irony mustache. Some people were meant to have mustaches. The Tom Selleck, and people in pornography. But I’m not. I said I’d wear it once. I’m going to shave it when the show’s over. Hopefully it doesn’t take away from the seriousness of the discussion at hand.
Ok then.
The discussion at hand was Elena Kagan – and Breitbart’s belief that we shouldn’t be discussing her personal life and it is liberals who are driving the discussion in the first place.

That mustache is ridiculous, and is what makes Breitbart special. Of course he looks like a tin-pot dictator, but hey, anyone who's willing to don a 'stache knowing they're going to look silly is okay in my book.

This is what happens when we get mired in the destructive "diversity" mindset – two fairly intelligent men off on a tangent about irrelevant issues. The Supreme Court of the United States is NOT a representative body, and that's the bottom line here. CONGRESS the representative branch of government and comes from the voice of the people. It's right there in the Constitution – SCOTUS is appointed by the Executive Branch and accepted or rejected by the Legislative Branch. The responsibility of SCOTUS is to interpret law, not to make law or be the watchdogs for social, ethnic, religious, etc. groups they have risen out of. This came up with the Wise Latina nomination and the talking heads all missed it then, too. The only question should be: is this nominee a fair-minded, experienced, knowledgeable person with sufficient gravitas to make the judgments he or she will be required to make. A pretty serious decision has to be made and we're talking about mustaches and diversity??!!! This country has political ADD!!!

As Breitbart siad, people definitely need to stop "aligning self esteem with ethnicity" and realize that "the American identity is first and foremost." The PROBLEM is that most people have been taught and have accepted post-modern relativism. No one is comfortable defining what "American" IS, absolutely. In order to understand what an "American" actually is, though, one must have respect for the document that defined it…and too many people have already decided that the Constitution is no longer relevant because it doesn't fit our new socially just ideals.

Andrew contradicted himself and I cannot believe it wasn't a trap by Ratigan. Go back and listen. Andrew said he agreed with people choosing their own over others with different ideas. Then he said he doesn't believe it is in the political world or business just social life. That is about the silliest thing I have heard Breitbart say. Obama fills his administration with people who think just like him.
I thought he'd look better as with a Charlie Chaplan mustache.
I realy am getting tired of listening to white conservartives talk about how much they hate political correctness and multiculturalism because it's really nothing more than attempt to stop the progressive agenda in academia which teaches young people the true history of it's nation in how it has oppressed gays and minorities, the people's of other countries with it's interventionist policies, and how that power structure continually needs to be challenged in order that it can be overcome. They want to set the clock back to a time when people who have now started to come into power didnt have any and it's for that reason Obama is such a threat because all those efforts of the last forty years to rise marginal people up has finally succeeded.

The issue of the left is that Kagan does not wear her sexuality on her sleeve. She is not carrying the flag, as if she is quietly ashamed or hiding it. The soft ball photo makes the case. The gay movement think that this is an attempt to label her as a bull dyke or something, which cast aspersions on so many who just love to play ball. John Kerry made a fool out of his campaign over the same issue regarding the Cheney's. The worst part of this is that this is a non-issue and distracts us from the fact that she is in no way SCOTUS qualified with her college recruiter issue and the latest ramification of the eco-terrorist cover-up.

He makes an important point about the fact that the Court is dominated by minorities — Catholic, Jewish (I didn't know Breitbart was Jewish, not that it matters), and now LESBIAN. Ginsburg is also lesbian. He says that Protestants are not represented on the Court despite that they are the overwhelming majority in America. I'm not Protestant, but it is certainly a valid point.
If Obama wanted to better represent America, he should appoint me. I would be the first PIGEON FANCIER on the Court (tongue-in-cheek).
There is a superb book on this subject. Reinhart and Rogoff wrote "This TIme Is Different". It uses 800 years of world history to point out that the "tipping point" occurs at 60% debt-to-GDP. Based upon history, once a civilization passes 60% debt-to-GDP ration, collapse is all but certain. It only takes a "triggering event" to send that civilization into total collapse.
This morning, I used the National Debt Clock to calculate our national Debt-to-GDP. It was at 90%. By that measure, we are well passed the point of no return. We have passed the tipping point and collapse is certain!

Speaking of 'irony' it is odd how things like her sexual orientation were brought up almost exclusively by the left who preach to us constantly how their side is full of tolerance and openmindedness. It's almost like they parade out minorities (gays being one of them) just to placade their white guilt and to act santimonious. "Look at US, everyone" "See how accepting we all are (when the cameras are rolling)?". Isoteric, unimportant garbage passes for legimate debate. I am wearing an irony mustache right now! On topic though, I don't think that it really matters the courts are not representative of the public in general. The court is meant to be an unbiased organization, meaning the race, ethnicity, etc shouldn't really affect the individuals involved.
