Remember this book?

A white man darkened his skin and went undercover to report first-hand on the plight of the black community. The project was initially funded by Sepia Magazine.

A card-carrying member of the Washington punditocracy went undercover as a waitress, a maid, even a Wal-Mart saleswoman in order to report on the plight of the minimum-wage workers of America.
So where’s the First Amendment/speak truth to power/ journalist shield law/”fit the narrative” crowd now? Where are the voices hailing James O’Keefe and his three colleagues for dressing up as telephone men in order to get at the truth behind Sen. Mary Landrieu’s obvious lie that the phones in her office weren’t working properly, when in fact she was simply trying to dodge calls from constituents outraged over the “Louisiana Purchase” during the health-care debate?
And where are the voices of press freedom that should be outraged about the government’s shabby treatment of the defendants, including its consistent misrepresentation of the alleged crime and the destruction of their property?
No wonder, back in February, O’Keefe’s lawyer, Michael Madigan, felt compelled to write this letter:
All in all, hardly one of the great moments in American jurisprudence.

The MSM press dropped what little pretext of balance it had after the 1960s. The MSM is dying, but not nearly fast enough. The sooner the traditional news outlets bleed out and are replaced completely by New Media, the sooner you'll be able to stop asking, "where are the voices of press freedom"
Please use something else to link to the letter. I cannot see it throught the local filters.
You know, every J-101 class, and the nauseatingly self-laudatory Newseum, praise as a patron saint the "First Investigative Journalist," Nellie Bly, who posed as a madwoman to expose abuses at a New York asylum.
Bloody hypocrites.
If you were an MSM "Journalist", and could not or would not excoriate Mr Obama the way Mr Bush was crucified daily, how could you you possibly expect creditibility and respect?
I guess if you ignore Mr Obama playing golf constantly and poorly, while the oil flows, then none of it really happened.
The corrupt and obvious "double standard", should be embarrassing to them but it's not…
Frank Ross is very unclear in this article – the title misled me to think O'Keefe's lawyer wanted to recuse HIMSELF.
Then Ross cites examples of previous 'undercover' journalists but didn't mention whether they broke any laws while obtaining their research, such as recording people without their consent against state privacy statutes, or entering a Federal building under false pretenses.
Then, after having nothing in his article that relates to his headline, he attaches a wordy 3-page legal brief which the reader has to sift through to try to understand what Ross is talking about. Is it me, or is this article convoluted and covering a brief from February made moot by O'Keefe's plea bargain? What is he trying to say? No wonder his avatar is the Riddler!
YOUR BOY WONDER PLEAD GUILTY! It is time to move on. If he was unhappy with the way he was being treated, his option is to go to trial and have a jury decide his fate and save these types of issues for the appeal. Instead, he plead guilty. When you plead guilty, you admit your actions were illegal. What about this do you not understand. Your Boy Wonder needs to take a lesson from his other co-conspirators. They have shut up. Do you want to know why? They have smart lawyers who know if their clients screw up when they are on probation, guess what? They go back in front of the same judge Boy Wonder is trashing.
Ridiculous.
O'Keefe is now a very high profile probationer. If the tables were turned you'd be screaming bloody murder and you'd insist on a full investigation.
The Feds had nothing nearly as FELONOUS as they THOUGHT they had. Checking on the "good" Senator's phones to see WHY her office staff is NOT ANSWERING them is not as nearly "sexy" as a "Watergate Jr." huh?
Excuse me, but what in my prior post is factually incorrect? You really need a lesson in how the criminal process operates. In many instances, the legal authorities will overcharge a suspect. Prior to trial, they will reduce the charges in exchange for a guilty plea. This happened in this case. The problem you have and can not accept is your Boy Wonder now has a criminal record and is running his mouth. I wonder why his other co-conspirators are keeping their mouths shut? Hmmm.
He plead guilty to a misdemeanor, which was "entering a federal building under false pretenses." You do understand that, right, Bo? You do understand that the misdemeanor charge IS NOT THE SAME as "wiretapping" or "sabotaging the phone system" or any other number of wild-eyed leftist rants, right? I'm just checking to make sure that you're on the same planet as I am.
""Then Ross cites examples of previous 'undercover' journalists but didn't mention whether they broke any laws while obtaining their research, such as recording people without their consent against state privacy statutes, or entering a Federal building under false pretenses. """
Have you ever actually WATCHED 60 Minutes, Dateline, etc?
It's not a good idea to make the case for your own inability to read.
Unstack- they keep hoping in all their spin that somehow Boy Wonder's criminal record will disappear. They simply can not accept reality.
Yeah, they walked into an office with a tape recorder running. Maybe they should have done something wholesome like joining the SEIU and beating up an innocent black man. Right???
Yes and three years of probation is not exactly the punishment for "spitting on a sidewalk", now is it? Oh, I know the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony. What you do not realize is the difference between a misdemeanor involving "false pretenses" and running a stop sign. Unfortunately, Boy Wonder is going to find out the hard way if he ever wants to apply for a professional license.
Oh, please get a life. Two wrongs do not make a right. You need to stick to the topic.
Hmmm. Maybe I missed something but I am unaware of any crimes a journalist working for 60 Minutes,
Dateline, or any of the other programs has been charged with and convicted of a misdemeanor involving false pretenses.
You seem to have an intimate knowledge of the legal system. Could it be that you didn't finish your name…..HuskersloveBoys? That would indeed account for that knowledge.
Your a total idiot, no company would care about his past as it was nothing more then someone pleading guilty for a DMV and given probation.
Let's see what you say when obama gets caught trying 3 times to get people to drop out of elections for illegal jobs in return.
Well, well, well. A total idiot. Hmmm. I think the total idiot was Boy Wonder who plead guilty to a crime. No one would care about this. Well, this is how much you know about "false pretenses". You see words mean things. As far as Obama goes, George Will, you do know who he is, says it is just a bunch of B.S.
Ha, ha, ha, Boy you really must be sick to have to resort to an allegation of pedophilia to make your point. I would say your I.Q. equals Boy Wonder's.
It sure did not stop obama stealing an election in his guilty pleading in selling drugs did it ?
So I doubt James will be turned down on any job.
What you have to worry about is the other videos James has that are coming out close to Nov elections.
Seems you have more of an interest in James O’Keefe then the actions of your negro buddies of acorn who wanted a piece of the action hooking minors.
Actually, cornholer, it is to show you that turn about is fair play. You persist with half-truths and allegations, expect the same to happen to you.
I cannot see the memo on my laptop, either. (Ubuntu). What does it say?
Once again, when have I said two wrongs make a right. I know this is a difficult concept for you, but then again, most 6th graders understand it. They also understand the meaning of Guilty, your Honor.
Half-truths? Well, now what have I posted which is a half'truth?
Everything you post is either a half truth, an allegation or a specious arguement. Your minders have taught you well. Good luck ever making it out of the basement.
BTW, since you have not denied the allegation that I made, it must be the truth. People of your persuasion have no place here. Go away.
There's a link to docstoc right under the frame. Can you use that to link to the memo?
No sh!t, Sherlock–of course the law will throw the book at an accused and plead him down from there. That's not news. What IS news is the MSM can't get its facts straight when reporting what he actually pled to–which was NOT wiretapping.
The other guys aren't talking–so what? O'Keefe obviously likes the limelight. Maybe his pals don't. Big woo.
Well, well. I would be worried, but you than again, you do not know how to spell.
Two wrongs don't make a right. How many wrongs will the left have to do before we get to make it right. When they start prosecuting the left's wrongs and portraying them in the proper fashion then maybe we won't have to send in the boy wonder to figure out what these idiots are up to.
This isn't a new tactic for old Mary. Everytime it gets a little hot in the kitchen for her the phone lines seem to quit working. We're used to it down here.
Do you really think that anyone on this site cares one iota about what a self-admitted pedophile like you has to say?
The MSM corrected their strories a long, long time ago. The problem with most of the persons on this page simply can not accept the fact that their boy wonder has plead guilty.
I have a question are their any other Huskers out there because the lasst time I was there they seemed like a clean people. HuskersLoveBo seems to be cultivating and loving his own body odor. Is there a shortage of water in Nebraska or does this guy just need to be hosed?
A long, long time ago? O'Keefe pled guilty on May 26–FOUR DAYS AGO.
I could care less if O'Keefe pled guilty. He was trying to do a story, and he got caught. If it were a lib homeboy like Geraldo, you'd be cheering for his heroics.
Yeah, there are a whole lot of REAL huskers out in the world. Gentlemen like Dr. Thomas William Osborne is but one. My father and mother had the pleasure of going to an alumni dinner (they are both University of Washington grads) in the early '90's proir to a football game between UW and the University of Nebraska. The rivalry between those two teams has always been fierce. Because of the incredible grace of coach Osborne AND every member of his team, my parents came back from Nebraska with a whole new respect for their football program and all of the people of Nebraska. Don James was the coach of Washington at the time. Truely, two class acts.
Who ever the other clown posting this evening is, he will never diminish the respect that I learned from my parents towards the people of the great State of Nebraska.
You miss all sorts of things…nothing new there…
I would probably pay attention to Huskers Love Boys saying: "I plan to Kevorkian myself today…"
Otherwise, its the same old boring blah, blah, blah…
HLB and Jack getting together… Who could ask for more……
Ain't it fun to bait idiots? Especially Buttboys like him.
HuskerLovesBo would sell the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence down the river for being "Agitators for Revolt" against the King of England…
James is in good company…and HLB believes we're h8ters against gay llamas for $cientologist combat operations…
And where does the court get off removing private information from private property…?
Gay Frikken' Llammas for Scientology Combat Operations????? How the Hell do you make that sh** up? lol+++++
Coming from the person who unleashed these gems:
YOUR BOY WONDER PLEAD GUILTY! and but you than again.
You of all people bitching about spelling?

Either plead or pled is proper. In fact, plead is preferred.
Yes, and I went there. All I could find was a white space. I checked "view source" and could not find what the document was supposed to be so I could look for the plug in.
Oooo. "Spelling flame". The recourse of the loser.
Well, at least I am not facing a criminal sentence with three years of probation. Now that is something I am sure his mother is proud of.
I hear ya. Mjolnir, you're hysterical!
Oh, it's you again. A self admitted pedophile talking about prison sentences? How apt. You must live in a state that has yet passed "Jessica's Law".
Why don't you just go away……..
I guess it takes one to know one, doesn't it lost.
You don't have any values you are willing to take a risk for, do you.
I'm sure your mother would be proud of you.
Seriously…!
They have a compound down near Tome…and combat arms training doesn't go too well for 'em…the thumbs thing, ya know…
Well…he IS a NAMBLA member…under an assumed intelligence, of course…
…… sure. You're wrong, but whatever.
His mother taught him all he knows, I'm sure.
The voices of press freedom are exactly the voices the left is trying to suppress.
The left hates sunlight because the truth exposes their wickedness. (John 3:17ff)
