Always good to hear Maher play the reasonable liberal on the panel, but I still think the deep thought of the segment comes from Maddow:

For other good political satire, check out Latma TV. It's produced in Hebrew, but the more recent episodes have english subtitles. They're also the ones who put out the "We Con The World" video which got 3 million hits before being removed from youtube for "copyright violations."
No Bill they are not stupid. This entire thing is a well orchestrated well oiled machine with a purpose. The purpose is to destroy the US. Lower our standards to that of less than third world. Functioning like that we will have worse problems across the board than in any time in history.

It would appear that Maher is pretty certain that he is the only intelligent human being left on earth …he rants on and on about how ignorant his fellow humans are, whether they be religious, in the media, in the military, in the Tea Party, etc etc. In this instance, I wonder if before the show Maher cracked his head on the limo door, thereby knocking a small amount of sense into his fairly hideous noggin.

I seriously think their worldview and their self worth comes from feigning empathy for the victim. If there isn't one, they identify one and elevate the victim above all other causes, and demonize those who dare say they are victims and that their actions and choices endangered a decent way of life.
So they have to support the terrorists fighting Israel and the US because there may be victims in Gaza. Just the thought of victims somewhere is horrid to them.
So no, I really don't think they are stupid. I just think they believe in and go looking for Leprechauns(victims) and ignore the elephant in the room(the real problems/causes), while calling upon EVERYONE ELSE to make the sacrifice and help save the victims.

It's a good thing I read the Bigs every day, if it wasn't for you guys I would have no idea what any of the MSM idiots are even talking about. I have never watched Maher, Maddow, Olbermann or the like and I quit watching the alphabet channels years ago for any sort of news or entertainment. So you guys really do perform a valuable service by keeping us informed of their rantings.

To your point most lefties are the same way. I've got lefty friends and or family members. They consider themselves to be ultra intelligent elites. You ask them about a current event topic and they either haven't heard about it or in the case of the health care bill do not understand any of the facts.
