CBS and NBC have refused to air a provocative ad from the confrontational, well-funded National Republican Trust PAC that calls on Americans to oppose the building of a mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center site. The ad — which has about 100,000 views on YouTube — intersperses some of the most horrifying images from the Sept. 11 attacks with the sounds of Muslim prayer and images of Muslim militants. It focuses on what’s become a divisive — and partisan — issue in New York state, the erection of a Muslim cultural center on Park Place, in the neighborhood near the fallen towers.
Smith also includes a statement from NBC Universal advertising standards manager Jennifer Riley:
“An ad questioning the wisdom of building a mosque at ground zero would meet our issues of public controversy advertising criteria. However, this ad which ambiguously defines ‘they’ as referenced in the spot makes it unclear as to whether the reference is to terrorists or to the Islamic religious organization that is sponsoring the building of the mosque. Consequently, the ad is not acceptable under our guidelines for broadcast.”
NBC is saying it’s unfair to conflate those who are building the ground zero mosque with Islamic extremists. But is it? The Imam behind the Ground Zero Islamic center and mosque, Feisal Abdul Rauf, once said about the 9/11 terror attacks, “the United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened.” Sounds like he’s holding the United States partially responsible for 9/11. Furthermore, the New York Post reported last month that Imam Rauf was tied to last month’s flotilla that tried to break Israel’s blockade of Hamas-run Gaza (for those of you who remember pre-Obama America, Israel is historically one of our closest allies).
So maybe ambiguously conflating Islamic extremists with those behind the Ground Zero mosque is precisely the right way to handle it. But the supine MSM, incapable of a deep thought when it comes to radical Islam, cowed, and if this mosque goes up desecrating sacred ground, they’ll be an “accessory to the crime.”

Islam has a history of building mosques in places that it considers conquered territory.

It is absolutely surreal that anyone would take seriously a proposal to build a mosque at one of the sites of the 9/11 attack.
And I liked the protestor's sign that said they'd allow a mosque to be built at Ground Zero as soon as there's a Christian church or Jewish synagogue in Saudi Arabia.

The advert is actually ahead of its time. Looking at it reminded me of the ads I saw in Robocop and in Starship Troopers.
Joking comparisons aside, the subtle ignorance (or lie) being perpetuated here by leftists in government and the media is that there is absolutely no reason we should make any psychological and/or ideological connection between the guys on 9-11, who used 747s as Jihad (PC = "community") centers, and the guys wanting to set up their new "community" center mosque at Ground Zero.
The implications are unspeakable.

Are you suprised by this? I am not. These are the same people who refuse to show anything about 9/11. I wonder if Fox will allow it to run? Up to this point I see FOX as the only sane network. That will change if they refuse this ad. The Mosque is a victory for islam and they are thumbing their nose at America if they are allowd to build it. Not to sound like I'm tooting my own horn…but I have been pleading with people at every blog I post on to TURN OFF THE CRACK BOX. I offered the same advice here when I first signed up (and I'm not the only person to do so). Yet, I could say it each and every day until the end of time but it seems like I'm simply treading water. It seems like this idea falls on deaf ears.
If people could imagine how effective this strategy really works; it is empowering, and I can assure you within a week's time the advertisers would have no choice but to pull out which is the ONLY reason these leftist network stations have the ability to remain in business and to spread their evil propaganda. It is very frustrating that more people cannot see the logic and turn it to our own advantage.

1. It would require an organized effort by someone in a position to pull off such a feat.
2. For a boycott to become effective it would absolutely require participation by a majority.
3. Costs and/or fees? Absolutely none.
4. Alternative news sources and entertainment? Utterly endless esp. due to the internet and radio.

Why does something so simple have to be so complicated? The good folks of New York just need to tell the Iman to find another spot and if you don't like it, then leave. The one person who is getting a free pass is Mayor Bloomberg. Bloomberg approved the project and has been pushing it through. Bloomberg is pro-jihadi because of money. I am too sick of this story, most people in NYC are not the same people I grew up with. NYC is now just filled up with foreigners who don't give a crap about America.

Soundbites aside, I'd say it's time folks began getting to know their neigbors again. Let's learn what sources those around us are using to know what's going on. Something approaching 99% of Americans have TV in their homes, but not all have cable. I don't know what the figures are for "wired" households that have Net access. Maybe it's time for citizens to gather, pool resources, and rent halls locally to arrange their own town-hall meetings. While big-name speakers are always welcome, they aren't absolutely necessary to conduct a thoughtful gathering.
What about creating a strictly "facts-only" website about the threats that face us from Islam, the debt, illegal aliens, etc. (if such sites don't already exist) and then making leaflets inviting people local to us to view it? Links can be added listing blogs and sites already spreading the word, like the Big sites, about the challenges we face to our peace and liberty.
Getting more people to be aware and involved in the fight requires getting out and talking to people. As the Tea Party, this effort must be grassroots.
That is not just the fastest way but the best way TD. I trust my friends and family a lot more than I do the media and I'm bettin I'm not atypical.
Besides, it's hard to "expunge or erase" millions of constant emails. Even Holder can't do that, lol.
Uh, I'm not certain but I am fairly sure this violates the "reasonable access" rules regarding political programming/advertising of the FCC. Not that the Obama administration would ever dare intervene on behalf of a conservative or a christian.
