		<description>A student at the University of Illinois Springfield has posted this interesting comment on another &quot;rush to judgement&quot; based on another &quot;out of context&quot; comment. This one did not turn out so well. Make the following substitutions: 
 
1.  Dr. Christina Jeffrey for Shirley Sherrod;  
2.  ADL for NAACP 
3.  Newt Gingrich for Obama 
 
And what do we see?  Deja Vu all over again? 
 
Only the state, Georgia, stays the same.   
 
Isn&#039;t it ironic? if one used to be a racist like self-confessed former racists, Shirley Sherrod, Justice Hugo Black, and Senator Robert Byrd, then all is forgiven. But if it turns out you were never a racist, like Breitbart or Jeffrey,  but simply conservatives,  then you will never be forgiven. Being conservative and showing the left to harbor totalitarian prejudices, is an unforgivable sin. Breitbart, like Jeffrey, will never be able to live this down. </description>

See kid, if you believe so strongly in Dr. King&#039;s words, you should at least take the time to a) get the quote correct, and b) seek to understand the context in which the words were spoken, ESPECIALLY since the genesis of this whole debate hinges on the apparent CONTEXT of the Sherrod video. You see, Dr. King appears to be COMPARING the denial to blacks of the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness to a check that was given, but returned for insufficient funds. That comparison would be a metaphor (refer to definition above). Dr. King was an eloquent speaker who had a way with words, so a metaphor would be one of the constructs that he used to provide an image and make a point. And yet you have managed to bastardize his ideal down to an avaristic &quot;Gimme, gimme, gimme.&quot; Great job. You should be proud. </description>
