Mary Frances Berry, the former chairwoman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, writing in Politico:
Tainting the tea party movement with the charge of racism is proving to be an effective strategy for Democrats. There is no evidence that tea party adherents are any more racist than other Republicans, and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Democrats win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness.
Prominent black conservatives have denounced the remarks, and yet the MSM meme remains — based on no evidence — that the Tea Party is a racist organization. That’s because it fits the narrative.
And once you remember that nearly every MSM reporter is a frustrated and/or failed screenwriter, you can begin to understand how important the narrative is to them.
It’s the only story they have.

Nothing like these types of racist/liberal/progressive fools to drive more ordinary Americans to go to and to check out the Tea Party events for themselves.
Not everyone is as ignorant and indifferent as the dems/racists/progressives/liberals would like, and many many more than they assume will be at those meetings or in support of what the Tea Party stands for.
November's coming baby!
One huge problem with her thought…..Alinsky tactics are well known by the American public now and "fitting the narrative" is gonna bite them in the ass…pittbull style!
I was thinking gator style, one extremity at a time.
Screw them. It will come down to a Revolution anyway. It will be us under the boot of Obama the Dictator or fight to be free. That is the TRUTH. You all think the elections will make a difference? You are living in a fantasy. All he will do if the Republicans take control is issue Executive order one after another and have his Brown Shirts in all the agencies push through his agenda. He is the enemy. He has no morals and is a megalomaniac. Wake up or be oppressed.Even the Clintons are kissing Soros's ass now. They know where it is heading. They have no patriotism. They just will glom on to anything that keeps them on power.
I tell you what, the lame duck congress coming up scares the living crap out of me. I'm not envisioning good things.
We will serve tea too all of these malfeasants in Washington come November. The only silver lining will be that they have committed suicide by fraud, their party and any remnants will be squashed by the people of this country. I know they want a revolution to happen, but it will not be the type they want. It will be a Constitutional one. A non violent one.
Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.

Everyone behind this should be in prison for voter intimidation!
Come on November, let's put these dirty bastards where they belong!
That Politico article summed up: TEE HEE, OUR ALINSKY TACTICS ARE WORKING, GUYS!
Proglodytes remain delusional and in-denial that they will keep Congress and that they can keep pushing their wacist white Chwistian devil nawwative. There's no point pulling their heads out of their asses; their too far in.
Berry is another follower of Black Liberation Theology. She authored a book in 1971 titled "Black Resistance/White Law: A History of Constitutional Racism in America". The old oppressed vs. the oppressors thing and another play on the race card. The deck is running thin.
Their game has worn thin.
It seems to me that lashing out at Berry is an error.
If she approved of the weaponization of racism by the Democrats and their partisans, I doubt she would be this candid publicly, knowing that her comments would be widely reported in the conservative media.
If Berry were asked to elaborate on her comments, I wonder what else she would say.
The frankness of that last sentence is astonishing. Does she really believe we are heading toward something good the way this regime is going? Or is it just the raw lust for power? Let's not talk about joblessness?!?
What we need is a commitment from the incoming congress that they will undo and repeal any shenanigans that the lame ducks put in place, if repeal is possible.
I would not put anything past this group of criminals that inhabit congress as they are on the way out.
If that's how they want to play then so be it.
Let's start calling liberals child molesters. There is no evidence that liberal adherents are any more incline to molesting children than other Democrats (I think), and indeed many other Americans. But getting them to spend their time purging their ranks and having candidates distance themselves should help Republicans win in November. Having one’s opponent rebut charges of child molestation is far better than discussing race relations.
What's wrong with infiltrating the left groups, lending to a negative atmosphere, causing dissention, adding anxiety and fear to the group, screaming racism at every opportunity, and burning their cash by losing or misprinting signs, and T-shirts, and adding chaos to the schedules of meetings, events, etc. Their plans for dirty tricks might be intercepted & passed along to conservative groups, like a Tea Party chapter.
"Anything you can do, we can do better!"
Patrick:
Good on you for your objectivism.
That's a good position to take as these kinds of stories unfold.
However, where this woman is concerned, a quick Google search should clear up any doubts you may harbor regarding her intentions.
She is as hard left as they come – Mumia Abu-Jamal, Abu Ghraib, Green Party, etc, etc, etc…she's behind all these things and more.
I take her statements as a warning to tea parties to not get caught up in the race game. Some people will believe this sort of nonsense, but they want to believe it and are not potential tea people anyway.
We are never going to convince some people and shouldn't waste our time. Even if these people knew in their hearts that the parties weren't racist they still wouldn't join for ideological reasons.
I wonder if any of the 400 journolist cartel ever was told the story about "the little boy who cried wolf"… To be honest i hope not.
"Having one’s opponent rebut charges of racism is far better than discussing joblessness."
I think the statement above speaks volumes about what Berry really thinks and believes- right out of the Alinsky handbook. Progressives and those who subscribe to Black Liberation Theology have often been "candid publicly", knowing their comments would be widely reported in the conservative media, but not in the lame stream media (think journOlist on steroids).
Her statement makes valid points- 1. The progressive/socialist regime has no clue as to how jobs are created and 2. The progressive/socialist regime and their supporters have no honest talking points because they have not accomplished anything positive for this country and must resort to defensive posturing- in this case proclaiming all who oppose their agenda as being racists.
We need to get more video footage and still pictures of the TEA parties out in the mainstream. Who could
resist the smiling patriots dressed in their red, white and blue, with their flags, signs and children in tow.
Who wouldn't want to join the happy, friendly, milling crowds of folks meeting those of similar ideology, from
different parts of the country, from different professions, from different socio-economic levels, all with at least
one thing in common, believing in ……….CONSERVATISM for our Federal Government..
Contrast the TEA partiers with these angry, brooding, resentful folks, and tell me which group would you rather
spend an afternoon chatting about politics, sharing ideas, patriotism and laughing? NO CONTEST !
We need some of our PR types to figure a way to get these pictures from past TEA parties into the public, we
need Americans to recognize a TEA party photo or film clip when they see it. We need these videos and photos
to be swarming like gnats from now until Nov. This art buoys our spirit, reminds us we are not alone. We can
not wait for 8/28 for new video and photos. We need it running NOW, every day, SOMEWHERE.
IDEAS ANYONE???
I'll be honest with you:
Guilt by association shouldn't be considered sufficient in this kind of a situation.
I'm not saying Berry necessarily deserves the benefit of the doubt: she deserves the benefit of an opportunity to clarify herself.
I don't know what Mary is selling but I'm not buying – the truth is the Tea Party has these progressives running scared and they cannot, I repeat, they cannot, discuss issues because their ideology is so bass ackwards that anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can see thru their pap.
Remember the difference between a conservative and a progressive, a conservative will argue with you but a progressive just wants to shut you up. By diverting the conversation to race they achieve that objective.
Cry racism all you want Mary fact is you're lying and your scared. The Tea Party, I heard, has about 20M members in its various organizations, and then there are those like me. Never been to a rally, never been to a protest, but identify with the Tea Party message of Fiscal Responsability, Limited Government, and the Consitution. How many couch-potatoe-defacto Tea Party people are out there Mary? Lets put it this way – you're in a minority alright – the 5% of American who identfy themselves as very libreral.
I'm tellin' ya, go Alinsky on their progressive butts. There is NO justification for the "high road/low road" mentality given the stakes. Learn the Alinsky play book and behave with their behavior. Either they will tire of the Alinsky dogma, or they will change tactics. The latter is unlikely.
These far-left fanatics are scared to death and will do anything, I mean absolutely anything to discredit a threat. If she is looking for a racist she just needs to look in a mirror.
This clarification enough for ya? No offense, but a simple Google search found this.

Like safe school czar Kevin Jennings. Trouble is, the MSM won't cover it. Jennings should have been the undoing of 'O's popularity but like everything else the jackass does, the MSM gives him a pass.

Cowboy:
Not on topic, but I have a concern you can maybe help me with. I ask you because you are pretty active on the Big sites and, like myself, you seem to be a pretty committed, opinionated conservative.
Recently, while checking my IntenseDebates profile page I have noticed "visits" from commenters I do not recognize – two of them so far.
No biggie, it would seem, except that neither of these people has ever contributed a comment. I have gone back and forth on whether I'm just being paranoid, but here's what bothers me: they have gone to the trouble of registering with IntenseDebates, it seems, for the sole purpose of monitoring my comments.
Their usernames are Design_Guru and Dod57.
You notice anything like this on your profile?
Thanks in advance.
I hear you.
But I'm not holding my breath – either that anyone will ask, or that she will offer.
Cause of death: Methane poisoning.
Already do that, I'm everywhere…
Just imagine if the Tea Party participants really were the violent, racist, rednecks that they are portrayed to be in the media. If that really were the case, there would be plenty of shocking news footage to air on MSNBC such as militant Tea Party groups taking down the (openly racist) New Black Panthers headquarters and hanging the bloody bodies over the doors to the (overtly racist) NAACP. There would be blood in the streets. Tea Party members number in the tens of millions and many of them are well armed. The progressive media should thank their lucky stars that the Tea Party is made up of hard working Americans that love this country and not anything even close to the way that they are portrayed to be by these numbskulls.
The woman proves that stupid is color blind.
This is a bromide that no longer has teeth.
If the race card is all they have, then (with apologies to DeNiro), "Ya got nuttin!"
Stick a fork in Mary Frances Berry and her ilk…THEIR TIME IS OVER!
…and stuck on stupid.
Too right! The progressives cannot discuss issues at all. They lose in the battlefield of ideas. I just hope that the voter awakening currently going on is sustained past November. We desperately need good people in D.C. I wonder if Chris Christie can be cloned?
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the progressive/leftist faction tosses out the invective whenever their narrative is in danger of being exposed for what it truly is. It is the Holy Grail, the altar at which they pray(and prey)and must be protected at all cost. Why else would they pull out the big guns so early in the fight.
"Oh, my countrymen! What will our children say, when they read the history of these times? Should they find we tamely gave away without one noble struggle, the most invaluable of earthly blessings? As they drag the galling chain, will they not execrate us? If we have any respect for things sacred; any regard to the dearest treasures on earth; if we have one tender sentiment for posterity; if we would not be despised by the whole world – let us in the most open, solemn manner, and with determined fortitude, swear we will die, if we cannot live free men!"
Josiah Quincy, Jr., 1788 Boston Gazette
Yes.
I have noticed the same thing in the past.
When it comes time for the big roundup, I'll probably be in the first bus. But I won't sit in the back. Maybe I can share a seat with Breitbart. I'd be an honor.
On a serious note, I have always wondered about the Intense Debate homepage system. You can look and see the last several visitors who checked out your page, but you can't tell how many people are following you, although you can see who others are following.

MARY FRANCES BERRY
As we teach our children about integrity and honesty, we must show them the picture of Mary Frances Berry and explain that she has neither integrity or honesty. We can also show them a photo of Kenya Slim for the same reason. Oh yea, Cholly Rangel too.
African integrity at its finest.
I am a racist! There I said it. The race I hate is: homo sapien imbecilis
You're right — that article DOES speak for itself.
Berry must simply think that her opponents simply aren't paying attention. The arrogance is astounding.
It is up to freedom loving Americans to MAKE sure the remaining Democratic Congressmen understand that a paradigm shift has occurred…WE, unlike their sheeple, have VERY L-O-N-G memories! There will be consequences in 2012 and 2014.
She's just another Communist, like Howard Zinn:
http://theothermccain.com/2010/07/31/fbi-files-re...
What is very sad is that racism still exists in this country. It is certainly on the margins, but it doesn exist. And Progressives like this make it all the more difficult for people who have ben victims of racisim to be taken seriously.
On another front, I have a t-shirt that says "Racist, Bigot, Moron" on it. I walk around with it on these days and seldom get a second glance. That is how little these people are taken seriously. The T-party leadership need to recognize how little of an impact that cries of racism are having and just ignore the claims. The people know that Progressives lie. The Progressive in Chief has conclusively shown this to be a fact.
The blacks want nothing more than to put "us" on the plantation…………….that will NEVER happen.
Either will work really…..I'm up for both!
There are some Libertards that realize behind the tea parties are those that don't go to parties, they're waiting for the war. Human nature being what it is, there WILL be a war. The left is seriously unprepared for it but keep pushing in that direction. Bring it on!!
This truth has always been known. The fact that it will be ignored by those who need a manufactured enemy will not change. However the vindication is still sweet.
That's as generalizing a statement as any by the MSM about the teaparty. Not very helpful. You have two choices. Either be part of the problem, or part of solution.
Amen
Racial paranoia may be harder to overcome than racism itself. Those who still persist in believing in the pervasiveness of racism (today) need to take a hard clear eyed look at the evidence around them and then do some comparative analysis of the publically sanctioned racism of the 60's with that happening today. The only outcome of corrupt public discourse is the production of more corrupt social policy and this country really doesn't need that right now.
Spoken like a true RACE warrior! Note there is no discussion of honesty or ethical issues this is all about winning no matter what! When "THE ENDS JUSTIFY THE MEANS" all is OK and truth is relative to your message.
The easiest thing to do as white people is to start telling our kids the truth concerning blacks.
I hang out here and on all the Bigs a lot and I know some names and others I may not recognize. Recently I had someone called "Noremac" say he/she is "following" me on Intense Debates. There was one other one. Now that you've said this, you've got ME paranoid!
Well, Cowboy, I'm with you – I'll probably be the first on the bus (or train car). And yeah, I'd be happy to share a seat with Breitbart, Limbaugh, Beck, you and many others. I will NOT kneel.
My opinion is that she and others like her say these things, but they get "marginalized" by the MSM and by other Democrats who actually AGREE with her but hide it by trying to pretend to be "centrist" or "objective". Look what happened to the likes of Van Jones. Though he's gone, I'm sure he's not gone gone, if you know what I mean. I think Beck was right, better to leave him where he was so we could keep an eye on him. Now he's back in the shadows doing God knows what!
What form of government do we have? Do you really know?

Lady:
And you're making ME more paranoid!!!
(Not really).
But, see…this "Noremac" person – I don't know how he informed you he was following you, but
I assume it was through a comment?
These two people who have visited my profile have never commented to any IntenseDebates sites, which I discovered by visiting their profiles.
I'm just curious to see if they (Dod57 & Design_Guru) have visited others. Not really paranoid (although the cloaking shield, GPS scrambler and, of course, the trusty tinfoil hat, have really helped in this regard, almost completely stopping the black helicopters from flying over my house).
Most likely trolls, but maybe employing a new tactic. You know how people go around collecting comments from other blogs, and use them to show how nutty the other side is? Something like that. Nothing too nutty in mine, I don't think. Lots of cursing though. But like my Gramma used to say, "What da fuck can you do about that?"
LOL! Well, I was informed by Intense Debate via e-mail that I was being "followed" by this person, just like I get informed when someone replies to one of my posts.
I should check out the person profile, which I never did. I'll get back to you on that one. UPDATE: Ooh, okay, now I'm freaked. Normac also has NO posts and no followers and right now, I'm the only one that he/she is following. Maybe the've been assigned to me or something?
Well, you know, just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you!
Just save me a spot on the train!
Something else, interesting, the notice I got said that I could follow Noremac by going to the profile and choosing "follow" but I guess because he/she hasn't written anything yet, there's nothing to follow.
Okay, I'm a bit creeped out now.
HAHAHA!
Check out what just arrived in my inbox from IntenseDebates Support, in reply to my query to them, asking if these phantom visitors can glean any personal info from my profile:
"Thanks for getting in contact. Profiles are public, as are the comments that you post. We unfortunately do not currently offer privacy settings."
Don't know how far into one's stuff they can go, but I do know I ain't putting anything in my profile other than what's there already.
Agreed.
See ya at the camp!
i wish you were right, unfortunately, the charges of racism work very well, which is why the left always uses it. too date the right has not done anything to combat this narrative. the left has done a great job of marketing, branding, and selling the tea party & the republican party as a racist.
no, alinsky tactics are not well known by the american people. only people who are tuned into conservative outlets know any of this, and probably only a fraction of these people ahve even read anything that alinsky wrote. that is why you hear so many people on the right talking about third parties, and getting caught up in how moral or ethical a candidate is. while they spend their time on such matters, they aren't on the offense, and are losing the fight. people really need to get it through their heads that what is going on is no joke. go ask a recent immigrant from a former communist country. this country is being dismantled right before our eyes, and half the people on our side our worrying about whether or not some candidate is pro life enough, or supports school prayer.
there is nothing wrong with it. it would be the smart thing to do.
yeah, you want press? you want a PR campaign?
HIRE A PUBLICIST and or a PR FIRM, and start a conservative version of the TIDES FOUNDATION to help fund it.
Then, anytime some jerk in the press slanders the any Tea Party Group specifically, sue the crap out of them. We shouldn't be asking, "What would Reagan do?," we should be asking, "What would the left do?"
i agree, but of course, couple the alinsky tactics with a civil disobedience response, and absolutely NO violence.
the race card works. the average american, the one who can't name one supreme court justice but can name every contestant on american idol, thinks that the Tea Party is racist unless they a) know someone who is involved in a Tea Party, b) is related to someone involved in the Tea Party. they also think that someone screamed the N word at a black congressman, and oh yeah, they've never heard of ACORN or Alinsky.
The issues of the Tea Party are magnified more and more by the attacks and obfuscation of the opponents.
Tea party participants are energized by attacks against them.
Watch your step when you arouse those with a nobel cause.
You might trip and fall over your own invective.
I think enough are aware to make a huge chasim in thier cause…..and many in this nation do not need to understand the exact workings of Alinsky to know that their being dismantled….
I think you ( and everybody replying to you) are misinterpreting the quote here , not really your fault, as it's a Breitbart cherry-pick, like his ACORN and Sherrod scams.
I read this as Berry saying the Tea party types should be forced to address the well-documented racism of their group before they try to blame the recession on the current president, rather than three decades of Reaganomics.
But I'd be very surprised if any regulars at any BIG- site could consider that without wetting their pants.
I'm sure I'll be banned shortly for being honest, so have a nice Labor Day weekend, or do Republicans celebrate that ?.
That might backfire on you. beside there being much more evidence of right wingers being racist, they seem to have the market cornered on sexual perversion too. Just some friendly advice.
Thanks, lynched, you left it on a positive note. I was beginning to think this site was made up entirely of race-baiting white victims. I haven't heard any MSM generalizations about racism in the tea party, but I'll give you that as you seem to be the most sane poster here.
