In regard to " recovery summer" I find it hard to believe that people are not seeing through this administrations crap! Auto sales are down, housing, both new and existing, sales way down, GDP revised to just over 2%, 500k jobs lost in a month, and a President coming out shortly thereafter saying " I am convinced we are heading in the right direction!" Are you freakin kiddin me man! What direction are you looking?

How's the Summer Recovery going. I don't know… I'm too busy Recovering.

If your in Northern Calif, then your just south of me. We too have a shit load of for lease signs on buildings. A 21% (Real) 12% (by the feds) Unemployment rate. My stocks are down 60% and my retirement fund went out with Enron and the housing market. (It was a union fund) Since I am disabled now, my meds went UP in price, all my durable medical goods are set to raise prices in January. and lets see two of my three doctors will no longer accept medicare. (The insurance I was forced to take) So all in all, if I'm lucky I will die before Dec 31. so my family will get a least something.

Is there such a syndrome as "Delusions of Competency"?…

The cartoon is by Michael Ramirez, a fearless conservative and incredibly gifted artist, and, somewhat amazingly, considering his perspective, twice winner of the Pulitzer. I've followed and admired his work for many years. His current output is on IBD. Not sure where there is an archive online, but it's worth looking for. As onecornpone says above, "THANK GOD WE CAN STILL LAUGH."

Most of it when we had a Republican president and Congress and it hasn't done that much– certainly not giving me the 8% returns that keep being promised by these criminal bankers and stock market profiteers that overwhelmingly give money to Republicans. I don't see any threat from Iran. You guys seem to want to spend another couple trillion dollars on more wars in the Middle East. That's the threat. I've got news for you, empires cost money. This country is 13 trillion dollars in the hole and we can't afford to spend 600-800 billion dollars on the military when a U.S. state hasn't seriously been attacked by another foreign government since the War of 1812. What justifies this expense?

I did, but ya see, that "50% gain" (which by the way ISN'T factual at all – let's see your statements, i.e. PROVE IT) you say you got (since BoBo got elected), doesn't account for the 50% LOSS from the YEARS before that. (100 – 50% = 50, 50 + 50% = 75, see, you're STILL down, but then you clearly don't get that part do ya)

First of all, Oldpay, why the name calling? Do you know me? Second, yes, this country was immeasurably damaged by the previous President. Third, I would have loved it if term limits weren't around so he could of gotten trounced by Barack Obama. Fourth, There weren't many people around here that still wanted your man in office. Not that I judge a President by his popularity (Carter is one of my favorites) but its worth noting that Obama's approval ratings are higher (by 15-20%) than Bush's ratings while he was President and CLinton left office with popularity ratings that were double those of GWB. Fifth, empires cost money. We are 13 trillion dollars in debt. We can't afford to fritter away almost a trillion dollars a year on the military. Sixth, it isn't that Americans are stupid– just illinformed– and FoxNews and the guy running this website have a lot to do with that.

Founding Fathers? I don't know what those people would have to say on things now. Personally, I think the cult of worship you Tea Partiers have built around them is a little problematic. On the one hand, many of them were unabashed slave owners, who defended an inhuman system that you all supposedly detest. On the other, they all were… revolutionaries… some quite radical, who had a lot more in common with Robespierre than Glenn Beck. I'm probably sure that at least some of them would be more on my side than yours.

Anyone bragging about doing well under Obama's yoke is a government employed parasite. What you are failing to recognize, is that the debate is over..It has become so very tiresome listening to the same old rehashing of past events..Why we're in Iraq, Iran poses no threats, Bush sucks, etc..etc..The conservatives aren't without fault..However, at the very least we are able to see our faults, and at least try to address that which will set us on a clearer path..The progressive path has proven to be consistently uni-directional. Re-write the constitution, social justice, the u.s. is no better than anybody else, etc.. on-and-on-and-on….It is old, and the inflexibility of your positions holds no room for debate..Ergo, debate over..Whatcha gonna do about it….Hey put together some money and build your own site? Just got back from another construction-hell, traffic-jammed road trip during the "2010 Road Rage and No-Recovery Summer."

Went to two tourist destinations and business was WAY down everywhere, there were many, many houses for sale, and people looked more depressed than in past years. Most of the tourists were the retired who luckily got out before the economy turned around Obama-style.

We were one of the few younger families which was surprising. It was most *sigh* worthy….

You say you don't see Iran as a threat, but don't you REALLY mean you don't see Iran as a threat to YOU? We know they're a threat to religious reformers. We saw what they do to political reformers. They shot Neda down like a dog in the street, or did you miss that? The Iranian people begged your Messiah to just say SOMETHING in their favor to help political reform, and for the only time in his LIFE, he didn't feel like talking. And these examples are just the people at risk INSIDE Iran, not to mention Israel.

It's people like you, Ron, who in 1939 were saying "Do we really care about Poland? Who cares what this Hitler guys does?" and then in 1999 the same kind of people were saying "Who cares if the Tally-ban tear down all their statues, history, and culture? What does that have to do with me?"
