Here's something that no one is talking about concerning tonight's primaries: In my homestate of Missouri Prop C, the first legislative challenge to Obamacare exempting Missourians from Obamacare penalities, passed by 3-1 in every single county except Kansas City and St. Louis City. Rick Santorum took every...

What we have here is a failure to communicate ……
One of the best movie lines ever
The Recovery Summer is going great !!!
Just depends on who's and what is recovering
America is Recovering from the Democrat Free for All
And by looking at the poll numbers the Recovery should be in full swing in November
The stock market will start acting normal again and people will find work in January
That cartoon is so perfect! Love it!
In regard to " recovery summer" I find it hard to believe that people are not seeing through this administrations crap! Auto sales are down, housing, both new and existing, sales way down, GDP revised to just over 2%, 500k jobs lost in a month, and a President coming out shortly thereafter saying " I am convinced we are heading in the right direction!" Are you freakin kiddin me man! What direction are you looking?
Its fine. My 401k is up about 50% since Obama took office, we're down to 50,000 U.S. troops in Iraq, the stock market is up about 27% since Obama took office (http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=^DJI+Interactive#symbol=^DJI;range=2y), if I do lose my job I have good unemployment benefits to rely on. I paid less taxes in 2009 than 2008 due to the Obama inspired Making Work Pay Tax Credit. I'd like there to be less troops in Afghanistan, but at least we don't have U.S. troops in Iran . We'd (and I mean us as a county) if we'd let you (meaning the contributors to this website) convince us to vote for that other guy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o-zoPgv_nYg).
What do you think the budget deficit would have been if we had 200,000 troops in Teheran, right now?
Noticing a lot of signs around, of the "4,000 Sq. Foot Retail Space For Lease" variety. This is in Nor Cal
Love the spoof on the "Weekend at Bernies" theme. Appropriate.
Officially, Recovery Summer is now over. According to this article, we have now begun the "Epic Fail Fall". http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/09/the_summer...
Further appropriate.
Unfortunately, I do not know what, or who is going to fall first. Rome, or Obama.
At least in the movie, they didn't shoot Bernie in the head before pretending he was alive.
And at least the movie was funny.
……….and Bernie was more articulate than Obama.
Hahahahahaa
You must have started your 401k 18 months ago for it to be "up". For all the rest of us the recent "up" doesn't count for the HUGE losses since 2007 – oh, isn't that when the Dems took control of Congress???
Hint: ya know – the WORLD didn't start when your idol BoBo got elected.
And so you don't mind the Government STEALING my hard earned money to pay for other people to sit on their a$$??? And you missed the post a few days ago PROVING none of the spending on the War on Terror, if it weren't spent at all, wouldn't "solve" BoBo's and the Dem's ridiculous spending.
Love the toon! You want the private sector to expand and create jobs, get out of the way. You want government to expand, and create parasites, you do what Barry has done, for the Keynesians, mission accomplished, for real America – - epic fail! We’ll get to thank them personally on 11/2.
The Obama Administration's "Summer of Recovery" will go down in history as a bigger
case of failed "wishful thinking",
then the "Mission Acclomplished" claim by the Bush Administration…
Wishful thinking?
Extreme psychosis.
Paranoid delusions of grandeur.
Ewbama's plan was to destroy the economy, so yeah, for him, everything is going to plan.
His "jihad" against the American worker/tax payer has been successful. And just like the cowards that practice this type of warfare in the name of "peace" Ewbama is also destroying jobs in the name of "recovery".
How's the Summer Recovery going. I don't know… I'm too busy Recovering.
Don't know if this is the right thread but thought this article significant and decided to pass it along:
German banker hits nerve with anti-immigration book
from the article:
In the book, Sarrazin says Europe's top economy is being undermined, overwhelmed and made "more stupid" by poorly educated, fast-breeding, badly integrated and unproductive Muslim immigrants and their offspring.
The debate has taken on such proportions that Merkel, 56, gave an interview to the Turkish daily Hurriyet, and on Sunday she admitted in the Bild am Sonntag weekly that Germany has made mistakes and has a lot of work to do.
In the past, Germany "dreamed a so-called multi-cultural dream and didn't do enough to remind immigrants of their responsibilities," she told the paper.
If your in Northern Calif, then your just south of me. We too have a shit load of for lease signs on buildings. A 21% (Real) 12% (by the feds) Unemployment rate. My stocks are down 60% and my retirement fund went out with Enron and the housing market. (It was a union fund) Since I am disabled now, my meds went UP in price, all my durable medical goods are set to raise prices in January. and lets see two of my three doctors will no longer accept medicare. (The insurance I was forced to take) So all in all, if I'm lucky I will die before Dec 31. so my family will get a least something.
The "Summer of Recovery" ended the same way as George Costanza's "Summer of George" on Seinfeld.
A complete failure and disappointment. AND just as on Seinfeld, the "Summer of Recovery" was based on nothing more than wishful thinking.
Is there such a syndrome as "Delusions of Competency"?…
Happy "LibertyDay"…
MulliKirk
"What do you think the budget deficit would have been if we had 200,000 troops in Teheran, right now?"
Don't need 200,000 troops…We do the Bill Clinton/Weasley Clark "30 days of Bombing Stragety"…
That should make the libs happy….Or do you see no threat from Iran?
Wise up…
Un-Labor Day.
The day WE begin to unemploy the incumbents.
Strother Martin, one of the great character actors.
Valiant effort Dave & Drifter! What we have here is a lost cause, mind numbed O-bot, your sage advise is futile!
Even dead, I bet he could use an umbrella?
THANK GOD WE CAN STILL LAUGH ! ! !
No telling how long we'll be able to continue,
Let's just take it one day at a time!
.
Yep…..one part is right, it's the SUMMER part.
Though, I've had to send out Leonard Nimoy to go ' in search of ' the RECOVERY part !
Still haven't found it.
Two more days of work this week, and I am on vacation till the 26th!
Fence building, backyard cleaning, a little car work to do.
Gonna play in a golf tourney. Take the girl out to the movies once or twice.
Spend sometime getting ready for hunting season.
Damn, I've got all the time scheduled already!!!!
Speaking of Recovery Summer, as a evil capitalist, I've been thinking about opening a new business. It is a totally new concept, and I think I'm going to franchise it.
UMBRELLA OPERATION SCHOOL.
The cartoon is by Michael Ramirez, a fearless conservative and incredibly gifted artist, and, somewhat amazingly, considering his perspective, twice winner of the Pulitzer. I've followed and admired his work for many years. His current output is on IBD. Not sure where there is an archive online, but it's worth looking for. As onecornpone says above, "THANK GOD WE CAN STILL LAUGH."
The company I worked for closed its doors on November 1, 2008. I haven't worked since.
The job listings I scour every week seem to be getting a bit longer but business has not come back.
For me it has been a second long, hot summer. Sorry Biden.
>You must have started your 401k 18 months ago for it to be "up". For all the rest of us the recent "up" doesn't count for the HUGE losses since 2007 – oh, isn't that when the Dems took control of Congress???
No… its been around for a while. Most of it when we had a Republican president and Congress and it hasn't done that much– certainly not giving me the 8% returns that keep being promised by these criminal bankers and stock market profiteers that overwhelmingly give money to Republicans. Dave, did you catch the phrase "Obama took office" in my post, because like words mean things, bro.
> Nah, stealing money is what the last President's criminal friends did on Wall Street and what the last President's regulators convienently ignored. What you are doing is paying taxes. There's plenty that the government spends money on that I don't like, but its not theft. And on that note… Yeah, please prove to me that $500-700 billion dollar defense budgets over the last decade (=~5 trillion dollars since 2000) isn't significant when we have a $13 trillion dollar debt. 40% isn't significant?
Ron
Yeah right. all you do is call names. You couldn't engage in a political debate with a fruit salad.
I don't see any threat from Iran. You guys seem to want to spend another couple trillion dollars on more wars in the Middle East. That's the threat. I've got news for you, empires cost money. This country is 13 trillion dollars in the hole and we can't afford to spend 600-800 billion dollars on the military when a U.S. state hasn't seriously been attacked by another foreign government since the War of 1812. What justifies this expense?
Ron
Excellent cartoon. It says it all.
Yeah, Ron, Damn that president Bush !!! Thank god for two term limits..Hell, he may have destroyed the entire planet given enough time!!! Damn those millions of americans that wish Bush was still in office..What a bunch of idots, Huh?? Damn the military…War mongering bastards!! Hell, ron, damn those founding fathers, what the hell were they thinking! King George had a handle on things!! Hey…Ron…how about "DAMN YOU", and that righteously indignant horse you rode in on!!!
It would appear he is attempting to?
So, it's all about you then, isn't it?
Touche'!
I did, but ya see, that "50% gain" (which by the way ISN'T factual at all – let's see your statements, i.e. PROVE IT) you say you got (since BoBo got elected), doesn't account for the 50% LOSS from the YEARS before that. (100 – 50% = 50, 50 + 50% = 75, see, you're STILL down, but then you clearly don't get that part do ya)
Go back to HuffingPuffing and DailyK, bub – we deal with reality here, not fantasy utopia dreams.
So why are all the Wall Street guys big Socialist DEMS – you idiot. The EARNED it under Reaganomics – but NOW they they have theirs, they don't want anyone ELSE to get it and they are using their bud's in the DEM party to PREVENT anyone else from getting ahead. Do ya got it now??? Nah…probably not.
So Ron is the one that got picked to work Labor Day. Do you get at least Holiday Pay?
So our Empire included the STATES of……Germany? Japan? Phillipines? Is Kuwait the 56th State that BoBo was referring to? OR is that Iraq? What "Empire" are you talking about????
So without one penny spent on the military – we'd be……12.2 TRILLION dollars in the whole, instead of 13 TRILLION???? That's a pathetic argument there – considering the Gubment is actually SUPPOSE to spend that military money, and NOT the other 12.2 TRILLION.
But that's right, you didn't learn the Constitution did you?
First of all, Oldpay, why the name calling? Do you know me? Second, yes, this country was immeasurably damaged by the previous President. Third, I would have loved it if term limits weren't around so he could of gotten trounced by Barack Obama. Fourth, There weren't many people around here that still wanted your man in office. Not that I judge a President by his popularity (Carter is one of my favorites) but its worth noting that Obama's approval ratings are higher (by 15-20%) than Bush's ratings while he was President and CLinton left office with popularity ratings that were double those of GWB. Fifth, empires cost money. We are 13 trillion dollars in debt. We can't afford to fritter away almost a trillion dollars a year on the military. Sixth, it isn't that Americans are stupid– just illinformed– and FoxNews and the guy running this website have a lot to do with that.
Founding Fathers? I don't know what those people would have to say on things now. Personally, I think the cult of worship you Tea Partiers have built around them is a little problematic. On the one hand, many of them were unabashed slave owners, who defended an inhuman system that you all supposedly detest. On the other, they all were… revolutionaries… some quite radical, who had a lot more in common with Robespierre than Glenn Beck. I'm probably sure that at least some of them would be more on my side than yours.
Michael Ramirez was too good for the Los Angeles Times so they let this brilliant drafstman and comic go.
But they kept Paul Conrad (Peace be upon him), an unfunny and only mildly OK cartoonist, for 30 years. Why? Because he hated Republicans, conservatives, Christians, etc.
I'll take a Ramirez cartoon any day of the week. He is THE BEST!
Now that is one of the funniest political cartoons I have ever seen…..
Can't stop laughing.
Right on Mr. Ross. Michael Patrick Ramirez richly deserves his many awards….
Ah, showing off that Zinn-ucation now, eh?
Frankly, I think you're a huge fraud. If anything is going well financially for you then you work for the government and are highly overpaid with the tax dollars of the people who are struggling. Crow about it all you want, but all that proves is that you're a parasite. I want my money back.
Ron's not working today. Government employees have a paid holiday. We're paying him to sit on his ass at home today instead of sitting on his ass at the office.
Anyone bragging about doing well under Obama's yoke is a government employed parasite. Doubtless there are a couple of people in Ron's office who actually do all the work for the many drones who take up space. Ron couldn't possibly be one of them. Those people would be smart enough not to brag about financial gains off the toil of the suffering.
And it made money, too. A much better product than what we're paying for in this administration.
I'd like a cartoon of Obama as a surfer riding the waves of a falling stock market graph.
Name calling…Specify.."Damn You", name calling!! It becomes more and more clear to me why the progressives are typically on the 'wrong' side of things…Across the board, you morons (now thats name calling) and your astounding lack of comprehension and astounding reliance on emotions sheilds you from recognizing the most mundane of truths!! It is also clear that 'name calling' is the only thing that draws you out thus allowing us to see your true collors!! IMBECILE!
…………" "Delusions of Competency"?… "
We could call it "ObamoCarterisis"
Damn
I looked in wikipedia and the definition was
: "Delusions of Competency":
A Democrat and/or Progressive person/most of whom go into Politics or Teaching at a University.
Here's my business income for the summer:
May: $400
June: $0
July: $0
August: $0
September: $5,000 (so far)
These are the gross revenues of the business. Actual gross – not net. In years gone past the summer always averaged around $25,000 to $40,000 a month.
Thanks Barack! That's not the change I was hoping for, but you did manage to redistribute all of my wealth to my creditors and the government, buddy. Thank you so much. On November 2nd, I'm going to REALLY thank you in the only way I know how.
And the JOBS saved, created stink as much as Bernie after a long summer weekend unembalmed.
"Are you freakin kiddin me man! What direction are you looking?"
Probably looking at his kidneys given the location and angle of his head.
Bumpershoots – The Ups and Downs of Occasional Showers
A suggestion for a course title in the core curriculum,
Is that all you conservatives have got? Name calling? Pathetic. I'm still waiting for the "intense debate" part.
You are the one relying on emotionalism. I haven't seen anyone engage any liberal here substantially on issues. Maybe that's why other con sites ban progressives because they can't engage on issues. I expect the same thing to happen here by-and-by.
The other day a neighbor I hadn't met before walked by while I was out weeding, and we chatted for a while. She is a teacher, and her husband, an engineer, has been out of work for two years. They have borrowed from his sister to keep up their house payments, but now the sister has lost her job. With her being a teacher, I should not have been surprised when, as we lamented the state of things, she blamed George W. Bush for the mess we're in. As I read recently, it's not Obama who scares me; it's the tens of millions of my fellow Americans who looked at the guy and voted for him–and continue to support him!
Just remember………………………."We're headed in the right direction"???????
'batten down the hatches'
the worst is yet to come
We are in for a big drop, and it isn't just a tropical depression.
What you are failing to recognize, is that the debate is over..It has become so very tiresome listening to the same old rehashing of past events..Why we're in Iraq, Iran poses no threats, Bush sucks, etc..etc..The conservatives aren't without fault..However, at the very least we are able to see our faults, and at least try to address that which will set us on a clearer path..The progressive path has proven to be consistently uni-directional. Re-write the constitution, social justice, the u.s. is no better than anybody else, etc.. on-and-on-and-on….It is old, and the inflexibility of your positions holds no room for debate..Ergo, debate over..Whatcha gonna do about it….Hey put together some money and build your own site? Eh?
How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.
Ronald Reagan
Just got back from another construction-hell, traffic-jammed road trip during the "2010 Road Rage and No-Recovery Summer."
Went to two tourist destinations and business was WAY down everywhere, there were many, many houses for sale, and people looked more depressed than in past years. Most of the tourists were the retired who luckily got out before the economy turned around Obama-style.
We were one of the few younger families which was surprising. It was most *sigh* worthy….

So much to learn…so lets start with Robespierre as compared to the founding fathers, here are two links which if you bother to read…you WILL be much the wiser…..

On the Green Lefty Weekly website, they won't let me play like you do. I really like it here.
"There are times in life when the unknown result of inaction is of potentially greater risk than the known result of an undesirable action."
- Ron's wife, explaining her regimental use of prophylactics
You say you don't see Iran as a threat, but don't you REALLY mean you don't see Iran as a threat to YOU? We know they're a threat to religious reformers. We saw what they do to political reformers. They shot Neda down like a dog in the street, or did you miss that? The Iranian people begged your Messiah to just say SOMETHING in their favor to help political reform, and for the only time in his LIFE, he didn't feel like talking. And these examples are just the people at risk INSIDE Iran, not to mention Israel.
It's people like you, Ron, who in 1939 were saying "Do we really care about Poland? Who cares what this Hitler guys does?" and then in 1999 the same kind of people were saying "Who cares if the Tally-ban tear down all their statues, history, and culture? What does that have to do with me?"
Putting your head in the sand just gets you shot in the ass, RON.

His idea of the right direction is collapse, so it is right on track for his Marxist Utopia.
Or a Union hack, protected in his weakness by those whom he pays for protection.
Yep. IF you are a big central govt kind of a fella like our fearless Oblowhard.
It is no surprise really that gold coin buyers and sellers would come under closer government scrutiny. People are fleeing Federal Reserve Notes and buying gold and silver as a hedge against the inevitable inflation that will hit us.
"The rising popularity of gold is a threat to the fiat currency scheme of the federal government. It's no wonder the statists are targeting the metal with the tax code."
This will be a way for the government to "register" people who buy gold (and silver too). Eventually the government will probably want to confiscate your metal too, just like FDR did (By the way – that's called theft). Plus, they are also most likely clearing the way for a VAT Tax.
Obamacare gave way too much power to the IRS.
They will be the defacto enforcers of Obamacare.
Man is not free unless government is limited.
