As everyone except the left knows and understands, the U.S. military is representative of the finest elements of American society, but you’d never know it from the attitude of the scared-of-inanimate-objects MSM, who have never picked up a gun, served in the armed forces, grown up in the military, or have the slightest idea what sort of people we ask to stand on the wall, keeping watch against the terrors of the night.
So that’s why they should watch this:
Col White is right: the best and brightest really are in the armed services, not prancing around the Harvard campus.
And maybe Robert A. Heinlein was right, too.

"Col White is right: the best and brightest really are in the armed services, not prancing around the Harvard campus."
What? Are you kidding me? Just because one puts themselves in harms way to defend their country? Because they challenge themselves physically and mentally? Just because they learn the life long advantages of personal discipline, respect for their fellow soldiers and commanding officers? Just because they understand honor?
That makes them the best and brightest?
No no no……the best and brightest are those who learn to recite the teachings of ideologues who themselves have never set foot outside the confines of a university campus. Who pontificate on the ills of the rest of society whilst they are insulated from the day to day struggles of providing for ones self by producing something of value.
THEY are the best and brightest. They have a diploma and grades to prove it……..issued by……….by the…….by the ideologues who's idea's they have successfully memorized and recited back to their teacher? who told them they were the best and the brightest. That's not up for debate…….because………ya know…..they have a diploma and all.
(….and yes I'm being sarcastic………could I lay it on any thicker?)
I couldn't be prouder of those who choose to serve, and I surely could never repay them.
LTC Terry Lakin is still being prosecuted for refusing to obey an order from Obama claiming that Obama is an illegitimate president. He is asking for a birth certificate. Rather than show him one, the government has unleashed lawyers and tried to discredit this officer. Now THAT'S a soldier.
Mr. Bama are you listening? Your entire thought process, your agenda, your ideals, everything about you sir fly's in the face of our brave men and women. The very ones who have died, been maimed, faced tortures, laid it all on the line to allow you to stand before them and attempt to undo everything they have done for me and you sir. You sir should be ashamed sir. Oh! Just so you know sir. When in reference to you sir. I use the term "sir" very lightly. There many more tems far more fitting your actions/inactions sir.
Fifteen years ago my son came home from his first day of high school and announced that he wanted to sign up for Navy Junior ROTC. I was appalled. The military?! No one had served in our family since my father and father-in-law were called up in WWII. My husband and I had been left-leaning academics during Vietnam. Then, through our son's involvement in the program, we started meeting active-duty and retired members of the Navy and Marine Corps. Truly, these are the finest Americans of us all. We are so grateful to have had this change in our understanding, and honored to count these people as our friends to this day. There is nothing we can do to thank the members of the US military enough for being the people they are. Oh, and by the time my son finished high school and decided against a military career, I was devastated that I would not become a Navy Mom!
The U.S. military has a long record of producing leaders that have honor, core values and a record of success in the harshest of circumstances. The liberal run U.S. Public Education System and Universities teaches moral relativism and socialist psycho babble with a long record of failure. The Col. could not have said it any better. In 12 minutes LTC White has accurately depicted the Commander in Chief and the Leaders of the Democratic party. They will have no reply for the truth but they will demonize him and attempt to ruin his career. Thus proving him right – they are cowards.
All I can say is Hoorah!!!!! I work and know our men and women in Uniform everyday, and study the history of our military. I am completely in awe of their work ethics, patriotism, and humanity. Whenever I hear the true words of the Colonel, all I can do is nod and agree.
That is a motivational speech right there. I don't care if I never hear another word out of this man's mouth – I'd follow him to the gates of Hell just to spit on the occupants.
The military is a very exclusive fraternity that welcomes all, yet selects very few. I am fortunate to come from a looooong line of military men, growing up, it was never a thought as to what would happen when I graduated high school. The talk was always, "What are you going to do AFTER you get out of the military?"
College, marriage, family, now I'm 47 and I still work for the US Army. Dunno if I'll ever leave.

I wouldn't compare the gallantry and bravery of our Military men and women to the veiled fascism of "Starship Troopers". Especially the movie, it made so many comparisons to the third reich, it soured me off the movie. If anything, the men in our military are the antitheses of the military of "Starship Troopers".
Considering the movie was the blatant antithesis of the book… what the hell are you talking about, exactly?
I could be wrong, but I think the author is saying that Heinlein was correct in that we should enfranchise citizens with a term of service. IOW, you should serve your country before becoming a full-fledged citizen and allowed to vote.
I happen to agree with that.
On a related note, the very first thing I researched when I got online was Roger Young. "Shines the name".
God Bless Them ALL! And God Bless Col. White. I spend too many years listening to those who denigrated America, American values and American success and prosperity. It is good to hear the Col's words.
My feeling has always been that America should NEVER elect any President who does not have at least basic military experience. And in particular, when the country is already at war. I love your sarcasm. The problem though is that it is also very true of this current administration and President. They all believe that because they are Harvard and Yale grads, they are some how superior to the rest of America.
Obama is now complaining that people are talking to him or about him like a dog. Mr. Obama, I suggest you go back and read/watch/listen to your own speeches. then ask yourself how many times did you diss the American public in your rhetoric.
In addition to the world Heinlein created in Starship Troopers where veteran status enfranchises you, the author may have also been refering to HeinLein's quote about specialization:
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." Time Enough for Love (1973) .
You mean like the scarecrow in the wizard…all he needed was a piece of paper? Now he's smart?
As for the rest of your rant-lett you couldn't possibly be referring to our most intelligent president EVER?
Sarc 2
About Obama thinking that the American public is treating him like a dog…when he stops treating the American public like a fire hydrant, perhaps we'll stop treating him like a dog.
My lord, is our President a wimp, or what?
Good one!
Three cheers for the American service personal!
May God bless you and your families, and bring you home safe and sound.
Thank you for protecting my family.
Thin skinned is a gross understatement. He's a total pussy. Those well manicured hands aren't meant for a hard days work. They're meant for finger pointing.
A Warrior-Soldier. "Iron Mike" would be proud of him.
All paid some. Some paid all.
The people that are willing to pay the ultimate price for for a free society are the only ones that truly deserve it. That is not Fascism, it's a Republic.
That was well deserved sarcasm!
<wink> Uh huh, zactly like the scarecrow in the wizard.
The thing I'll never understand is why the top brass of the military, the generals etc., is constantly liberal. Can anyone explain why this is to me please?
Seconded.
Actually, ten millioned.
That movie is what put the first director on my No See List – Paul Verhoeven.
I never read the book, just the movie. I'd thought it would be another ClusterFrag like "Battlefield: Earth".
Then go out and read the book immediately.
INSPIRATIONAL!!! That soldier is STRAC!!!
Well I'm convinced. Proof positive that it's the content of one's character/heart and not the color of one's skin!!! Obama could learn something from Col. White, but alas he's too arrogant to submit.
BTW those flying monkeys still scare the crap out of me.
Bless You, Annie C.
I don't what interview it was from, but Verhoeven is supposed to have stated he intentionally didn't read the book itself because he didn't want to ruin his "vision" for the movie.
But hey, he got Rico's name right, at least… even if he somewhere along the line turned into a blue-eyed ubermensch along with every facet of any real importance regarding the underlying story being flushed down the toilet.
God bless you Annie. The world would be a better place with more people like yourself. Our family is not Navy, but Army, but I think you should be considered an Honorary Navy Mom for allowing your son to at least join the program and for being open-minded enough to get to know the people in the program and the military.
Who is he?!
Get that man Big Peace/Journalism interviewed!
Oh, what a lovely response! Thank you!
Just thought of something funny. My brother in law can't screw in a light bulb, everyone say's he's all thumbs.
I think your saying the same thing about Obama, cept in his case I guess you could say he's all index fingers.
Because after they make LTC, to go higher you have to be a politician.
You are very welcome!
Indeed — the book and its ethos share almost nothing with the movie.
In Starship Troopers, the only citizens who can vote are those who have completed their term of military service. They are not allowed to vote while in the service and, of course, civilians who never served can never vote.
That is absolutely correct.
Uh, that's pretty much what I said.
Sort of. There were some civilian options available for those who couldn't cut it in the military. Drudge work of some sort. IIRC, something about living in Antarctica for two years programming computers, being a test subject for vaccines, testing environmental hazard suits, etc.
