As the mainstream media trips over itself to analyze and re-analyze the Shirley Sherrod controversy, Andrew Breitbart is under fire for ostensibly unethical behavior. Andrew is more than capable of defending himself, but I wanted to offer a few quick thoughts on this imbroglio:
(1) This President often decries the 24-hour, hyper-reactionary media cycle, yet his administration responded with warp-speed to toss Sherrod overboard. Can it now safely be asserted that the Obama administration “acted stupidly”?

(2) The administration’s thoughtless abandonment of Sherrod indicates a hair-trigger climate of paranoia about all issues racial within the West Wing. It seems J. Christian Adams’ whistle-blowing has taken its toll, and Team Obama is nervous about the degree of scrutiny its racially-tinged political machinations have received. On the heels of the New Black Panther kerfuffle, another major race flap just wouldn’t do–thus, a low-level African American female was deemed expendable, and was unceremoniously dumped. The White House now claims they didn’t press for Sherrod’s dismissal, yet is apologizing to her. Hmm.
(3) MSM critics are pouncing on Breitbart & Co. for “smearing” Sherrod by exploiting out-of-context remarks. As others have noted, many of these same critics were remarkably mute as the ACORN videos were revealed, yet eagerly jumped into the fray to prematurely crucify James O’Keefe when he was arrested in Louisiana. These duplicitous observers were also conspicuously subdued as Andrew Breitbart beat back the “N-word” accusations invented by the Congressional Black Caucus. The story selection speaks for itself.
(4) Did Breitbart really excise or ignore the exculpatory portion of Sherrod’s remarks? The initial version of the video included Sherrod’s change-of-heart conclusion that she ought to engage in class warfare rather than race warfare. Her subsequent remarks (the ones that were supposedly edited out) simply built on that theme. Also, does anyone really believe that Andrew Breitbart would intentionally distort a video clip to make a one-day splash? Risk his growing reputation with a deliberate, easily refutable distortion? For those clamoring for more careful consideration of context and intent, perhaps they should contemplate those questions.
(5) There’s also a largely unspoken racial double standard at play here. I agree that many people–especially the White House–rushed to judgment in this case. While I’m certainly not here to argue Ms. Sherrod should have lost her job over the video, she did openly discuss her impulse to discriminate against a man because of the color of his skin. She described the agony of being “faced with having to help” a white man. She also told her NAACP audience that she decided to refer the white farmer to “one of his own kind.” It’s worth asking: Would a white federal employee ever get off the hook for making similar comments to an all-white audience?

My apologies to Mr. Benson, but there si really something wrong with either this site or Intense Debate because I cannot post on Big Peace. Someone needs to look into this matter ASAP.
Breitbart just schooled the left the LSM and the WH… What about their selective editing of a black man carrying a gun at a tea party in AZ.. They are such hypocrites.. http://newsbusters.org/blogs/kyle-drennen/2009/08...
Of course he didn't hide it. But each gear in the Big Journalism machine, is bound to get confused and out of sync, if one or two others jump over the wrench, stuck right in their hypocritical craw. Getting their story 'straight' requires a mechanic.
We want to re-submit this story, for summary 'fudgement'.
Did anyone offer Sherrod the opportunity to write an uncensored article on the Big J. site?
First I’m hopping mad because you made me think this black woman isn’t helping people because they’re white and I demand she be fired. I then blame NObama and the NAACP because this woman never should’ve had a job in the first place. Then I find out that she actually DID help the farmer and NOW I’m supposed to hate the damn NAACP for even listening to her damn story and hate NObama even more for rehiring her. Why are we calling it Fox ‘NEWS Fair and Balanced’ if I can’t trust the damn thing without looking like an ass??? Damn you Breitbart. This doesn’t make the NAACP look dumb, it makes US look dumb. With reporters like you, who needs MSNBC?
Concerning this article, I absolutely love that photo of Hussein. We have been doing this gesture for 2 years and it's about time he knows what it's all about. Can you imagine? This is only about media screw ups and his total reactionary stance. What if this was about a huge scale terrorist attack on our country? Would he crawl under the bed and whimper?
Please, please make this adminstration of marxist acedemics go away soon!!! We need a leader to guide us in these troubled times, not a wuss who doesn't know what the hell he is talking about and relies on his czars and idiots to feed him talking points.
Leauxryda79p posted these two links that have been erased from Big Gov. They are very important to read:

I think everyone knows what JournOlists are all about now. And what is now going on … All bail for Obama, the racist.
Brietbart is the man … The NAACP went race baiting, and caught the biggest racist in the pond, and he acted stupidly.
You my friend jumped to a conclusion of your own making… don't you know you need to do your own homework. I thought that BIG did a good job of bringing this story but I still did my homework, don't get caught up in what the media is trying to do… shift the blame to AB, they too got the same story but didn't do their homework. Besides you need to ask yourself, why would the NAACP sit on this story when they had the full tape themselves? They could of nip this in the butt before all of this happened… but they didn't. mmm makes you wonder aye?
Infact over 164 posts have disappeared!!!!!!!
NO getting your story straight requires tell the whole truth… NOT what suites for the moment…. and I believe and AB and his sites do that… We as a public MUST do our own homework.
had to look at that photo again. I'm sure I saw Lindsay Graham under the table……
Which is why my last suggestion is actually a good idea. The NAACP and Obama are the plaintiffs here. She could speak out, with whatever 'facts' she wants to present, to the scrutiny of the AB team. Let the moonbat web scrubbing begin. She was used by both groups; fired by the latter.
Why don't all you apologists listen to the rest of this womans comments.
She is an out and out racist who should not have been hired in the first place.
Why are we conservatives apologizing yet again and letting the left control the debate.
Keep doing what you're doing Mr. Breitbart and to hell with the weak-kneed wimps who have learned nothing of how the left operates.
Paranoia? …………. quite possibly. The administration's "stimulus" has been a massive failure and has left the nation with a HUGE debt, Iran will soon have nuclear weapons, and their "successes" such as healthcare "reform" and financial "reform" will not do what the administration says they will. As Thomas Sowell said, “You will never understand bureaucracies until you understand that for bureaucrats procedure is everything and outcomes are nothing.” ………….. he's described these reforms to a T.
Saul Alinsky said, "The third rule of ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means…." and that is worrysome for that is the rule this administration plays by. They have nothing left except false charges of racism, character assassination, and lies- they are desparate and it will get worse, much worse, before it gets better. In the end though they will self destruct if the pressure is kept applied. When they are judged by the standards that they use to judge others they are seen for what they really are; being hoisted by your own petard isn't a pretty sight.

AB absolutely did not hide anything.
I saw the video and saw the part where Shirley did the redemption bit. But she was clearly admitting she was formerly "racially conflicted" and clearly seemed to be telling the anecdote as an outreach to a NAACP crowd to get them to stop being so anti-white. They did seem to enjoy the white retribution part. And, then she made it class warfare, not about the law. Not good.
More on the Shirley Sherrod story — The Pigford Case (American Thinker, July 20):
Sherrod is deeply involved in the Pigford case which is costing the government 1 billion to bail out black "farmers" and her group is the biggest beneficiary – $15 million. It's a class action suit from the Clinton days that was supposed to pay 2-3000 black farmers but has ballooned to over 22,000 farmer claims — more black farmer claims than there are black farmers. Pays $50,000 each + mortgage forgiveness + tax credits. I smell scandal too. Speculation is that she even got her job at USDA as part of her settlement.
Perhaps this is the real reason why Obama had to dump her like a hot potato. Keep digging a little more on this AB, you did nothing wrong. Obama sure panicked over something alright.
.
still being paid out to
There is something smelly about this whole story. I cannot help but think that somehow the rapid over reaction by the White House is part of a play to make Andrew Breitbart look bad.
The Obama Administration (and the NAACP itself) was so sure that any allegation of racism within the NAACP was accurate that they didn't even ask the accused about it.
That says a lot about the organization.
Oh. Please. "Stars and bars"? Gimme a break.
The original article that accompanied the video made it clear that she did help the farmer based on his poverty. It's in the words. People who read words know that she did decide to help him. The story was about the NAACP reaction to her initial story of racist impulse.
I think you're a "concern" troll and didn't even read the article that "made you think this black woman isn't helping people because they're white and I demand she be fired." If you demanded she be fired when you didn't even read the piece (it was obvious there was more to her speech so she obviously wasn't the point of the article), then you only have yourself to blame for looking like a dumbass.
He would have looked worse if the NAACP had just looked at their archives and played the full tape. But they got all crazy and now they look like what they are, a bunch of race merchants who can't keep their stories straight.
You know you’re right. I’m guilty of being simple minded and figured my news station that claims to be fair and balanced, supporting Tea Party Americans, could be trusted. I also admit I was itching for some reprieve after that dummy Mark Williams hurt our cause. After watching the whole video, this just isn’t the “further evidence” against Nobama and NAACP that I was hoping for – no matter what he says on GMA. I am just as guilty as Breitbart for my lazy finger pointing, except HE is a “professional news reporter” and really should have done better for us.
Thank you. This video not only highlighted the NAACP and LSM's double standard, but also illuminated the kind of people that are in charge of some of the public's money.
Thanks for re-posting these.
Breitbart wasn't bright on this issue. Seems to expose a bias which he blames on the left.
Crash & Burn.
Even Rush will dump him.
Bye Bye …
Although I have some sympathy for the way Sherrod has been treated, I wouldn't expect her to consider any writing for Breitbart or any appearance on Fox. After all, she has not only only allowed CNN and NBC interviews, but also Media Matters. And there, she accused Fox of wanting to return black people to having to look down instead of looking whites in their eyes.
Even, she isn't. Mistreated? Maybe.
You nailed it…The thought of Comrade Barry with the nuclear football immediately came to mind!
Hey stars – name me one outlet BESIDES Fox which will give you the straightforward news on ALL that matters to you. If you say NBC, well that says a lot. If you cay CNN, then perhaps you like certain other kinds of filtering. If you are smart and not simply being sarcastic (hmm?), then perhaps you know to compile your few trustworthy sources. And if you really don't care about honest racism in this country, then perhaps any NBC outlet by itself is sufficient for you…….
It could be that the White House is attempting to change the narrative from the NAACP crowd laughing at Sherrod's racism to making the story about Sherrod herself being a victim of right-wing dirty tricks.
I would not expect it either. A refused offer of uncensored access has value by its nature.
Sadly, once again the WH and the MSM have successfully removed most of the attention from problems that really matter. And the funny thing is that it started out deliberate and ended as an accident. Clearly there was an effort to play the race card loudly and often to counter a number of opposition areas such as the Tea Party. It wasn't getting sufficient traction and other ills were coming back to the surface. But now, quite by accident, the firing of Sherrod has allow those same players with the addition of the NAACP to really focus all attention on race for a while. Let's hope it dies soon.
No on can really know another's motive with much certainty. But, the reality is Sherrod is on record in recent times making many more inflammatory comments. So, to position her as perfectly innocent and the only victim will fail provided the accusers (MSM, NAACP, et al) aren't the only ones getting the sound bites. I look to Breitbart to continue to show the public what she really says. Let the chips fall where they may based on reality.
You a betting person mondoray or just a simple partisan? I'll bet on all the Big sites to continue growing in popularity while the chatty opposition and detractors (most of the MSM, for example) gain little in credibility if not even looses some. The value in this case of listening to the whole video is you still come away with clear evidence of "racial tones". And that, my friend, diminishes every race-baiting screamer from the left even though there are many.
On Fox, Bret Baier read a quote from the scurvy knaves at MM–playing the raaaacist card against Fox. But Fox didn't report about the tape until after she was fired.
She had been scheduled to speak on Megyn Kelly, but backed out at the last moment. This, combined with the spurious accusation from Fox from the Soros corner means she's going to try to use her new victim status against Fox, Beck, et al. Expect a salvo.
Listening to the entire tape, I didn't hear as much exculpatory as I expected. She still comes across like a resentful bigot, in a room full of resentful bigots. We can stop feeling any need to defend her. All this could be "golden" as Blago would say, for Mrs. Sherrod. She's Rosa Parks. She says she's thinking of suing. Suing who? Surely not Obama, or NAACP. Wonder if she'll try to go after Breitbart?
On another topic, does anyone know at Big whether there's any mention of Jon Stewart or Cobert, or their writers, on JournoList?
Calling her a racist, in my humble opinion, is too strong and just continues the devaluation of the term. I'll give here credit for her past, for example the murder of her father. I'll also give her credit for learning the valuable life lesson of her own about poverty being the ingredient versus race. However, since she comes from a different era (she is 62), I also see that in many ways she is stuck in the past. It's her fault for not getting unstuck even though she has a wide network to continue to feed her (Jesse Jackson, et al), and on wonders after her epiphany why she hasn't become unstuck. But I really don't see her as being a pure racist.
Another way of looking at it – as long as there are really egregious racists around it makes no sense to focus on her. The analogy might be fighting a trivial drizzle of an oil leak in the gulf as long as the BP well was gushing. We've gut tons of racists gushers in our country.
Clap. Clap. Clap. And I'm not being sarcastic. If only there were more of you in this, well, whatever you want to call it.
Yeah! How dare anyone admit that Breitbart is a bare-faced liar who twisted a story to get serial masturbators like MrGJG all excited about the possibility of catching one of them coloreds saying something racist? It's not about the truth — it's about what craven losers WANT to be the truth!
I'll defend here as being misguided and stuck in the past. If she in fact flips this controversy to here financial advantage I will happily change my mind and condemn those actions. You are right, the stage is set with her words to Media Matters about Fox wanting black people to return to having to look down when around white people. THAT was a racist statement. But I for one will let it play out first.
I don't remember where I saw the interview Andrew did yesterday – BEFORE – most of the major hoopla started, where he specifically explained that the tape was obviously only a clip. And he was trying to get the rest of it – but the NAACP would not give it to him.
Glenn Beck smelled a rat/setup right away, after he first heard about it late Tues afternoon.. It was news to him that this woman was going to appear on his show – and he'd never even heard of her! He thought it quite strange that the from the time of Big Gov's posting to the almost instantaneous response seemed 'oddly' like the 'players' were just waiting to pounce(my words not his but this was the jest of it).
The NAACP stepped on their 'collective' you know whats…. Glenn didn't take the bait – he even said she should be given the benefit of the doubt and NOT be fired until all the facts were known and the 'context' of what had been said in the clip! HE WAS THE ONLY ONE SPEAKING UP FOR THIS WOMAN! He did like 5 min. on 'context' and how important it is. He then gave multiple examples of Comrade Barry and the LSM/Collaborators purposefully taking stuff out of context to fit their agenda. (we all know them, enough said). Of course no one mentioned it today! Just like they twisted things to make it appear Andrew doctored the tape – to what? – shoot himself in the foot over something easily disproved?
These a**holes never cease to amaze! And they can all spout total hypocritical and patently false bullshit with a straight face! Now even Sheppard Smith… today he piped in qualifying his report today by saying that Big Gov is one of the most discredited sites on the web! … Et Tu Sheppard?
This whole incident makes everyone look bad. The MSM is now in overdrive to defend Mrs. Sherrod even though the point of the tape was not about her but the NAACP's tolerance of her initial biased views. I turn on ABC, CNN, NBC, CBS, and MSNBC and the commentary blasting Andrew is so overwhelming, I almost feel like its a losing battle. Mrs. Sherrod is being treated as a saint and Breitbart is the equivalent of David Duke. The leftist media is vile, but I do think AB slipped up.
Andrew Breitbart is nothing more than the right's version of Michael Moore. Get a clue people and think for yourselves. Everyone on both sides are full of it these days and willing to keep being fed rubbish by people like Breitbart and Moore. If your going to invest some energy, do it in forming your own opinions by looking at all the information, not just what you WANT to hear.
Lets see. Oh wait I prefer not to hear about how a Federal Employee looks through the prism of race and class warfare. I also prefer not to hear a Federal Employee give off a spiel about how she hates the fact there aren't enough black people working at her outfit because they are afraid of agriculture.
I also prefer not to hear about the opposition to the Liberal Democrats version of Health Care Reform was based on the revival of racism. I also didn't want to hear about how rotten Bush was and how mean spirited all those Republicans are being against the first Black President.
I also didn't want to hear her lament the fact she had all this money to give out to businesses and no one black had even gotten approved yet. I also didn't want to hear how the audience laughed with glee when she was talking about how she decided she wasn't giving the white farmer all the help she could.
Watching the Obama reaction, the NAACP reaction and the scrambling by the MSM to gain the upper hand — it reminds me of an ant column scrambling to regain its grip and direction after being stepped on by a large foot.
Andrew Breitbart is awesome, our real live action hero. I have so much admiration for him.
Keep fighting Andrew! You are 100% correct with your approach. And you are being very effective.
I was thinking of that as well.
Liar; just generally, you're a liar.
This story has nothing to do with Fox. You'd know that if you actually watched Fox; but you don't.
Thanks for playing.
Do not pass working American. Do not collect your transfer payment. Go to troll hell.
"The initial version of the video included Sherrod’s change-of-heart conclusion that she ought to engage in class warfare rather than race warfare. Her subsequent remarks (the ones that were supposedly edited out) simply built on that theme."
When the video got passed around, that text didn't follow. O'Reilly, for one, didn't read that text when he played the clip on his show. Other blogs didn't include that text, either, only the clip.
"MSM critics are pouncing on Breitbart & Co. for “smearing” Sherrod by exploiting out-of-context remarks. As others have noted, many of these same critics were remarkably mute as the ACORN videos were revealed, yet eagerly jumped into the fray to prematurely crucify James O’Keefe when he was arrested in Louisiana."

"He just facilitated them getting caught in their own hypocrisy. [Alinsky Power Tactic # 4: “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”]"
http://biggovernment.com/publius/2010/07/21/breit...
" Breitbart has identified that tactic, and like he did with the ACORN video exposé, he’s used the left’s playbook against them."
The MSM does this kind of thing all of the time, which means they have no room to talk about Breitbart doing the same this once, which is what he was doing according to the two Big Government posts that are quoted above. But what about those of us who have come to rely upon "citizen journalists" because we long ago figured out the MSM sucks? Keep in mind that neither Fox nor some of the conservative blogs that posted the clip, posted the text about Sherrod doing her job for the white farmers, too, and her change of heart. Fox and the other bloggers took Breitbart at face value, neglecting to read the fine print, in a way, and were stung for it, right along with the NAACP. From this moment on, do we need to read Breitbart carefully, from the Big page where it's originally published, checking for disclaimers to avoid being caught up in the "gotcha!"?
" Also, does anyone really believe that Andrew Breitbart would intentionally distort a video clip to make a one-day splash? "
Distort? As in edit? No. Post the clip of the woman's statements out of context? According to the quotes above from Big Government, he was using the left's playbook against them. Doing to the left what the left and MSM does to us was the plan. Two writers at Big Government believe that's exactly what he did.
In response to all of your point number 5:
Breitbart said this wasn't about Sherrod. This paragraph seems to say that it is about her. If it's not about her, anyone should have known that playing the out of context clip would make it about her. If it is about her, the full clip would have done the job. She said plenty of things that show she's too bigotted, black against white, rich against poor, even after her come to Jesus moment. It turns out Sherrod's going to be ok. Her boss at the USDA took the fall for the White House. The NAACP will point to how quickly they had Sherrod fired for being racist against whites and then use that in their false accusations of the Tea Party being racist to make the NAACP look like the good guys who helped get a black racist fired and the Tea Party are the bad guys who won't even tell the white racists to stay home.
The MSM and left will bring this up forever to discredit Breitbart. The good guys never beat the bad guys at the bad guys game. The good guys always beat the bad guys when they stick to honesty because honesty is like the bad guys kryptonite.
There's really a rash of newb trolls today, isn't there?
Newb Troll, Michael Moore is a lying hypocrite. He's been caught at the practice of hypocritically lying many times. So far Breitbart's clean as a whistle.
Just because you willfully misunderstand an article — in your effort to deflect from the actual subject of said article — doesn't mean you've been lied to. It just means that, in your Democratic cult member zeal, you misunderstood. Happens to fanatics all the time.
I posted this earlier on the Huffington post in response to a Rachel Maddow segment re Ms. Sherrod.
"Means be damned, in the end, it worked." – Rachel Maddow
Yes. Rachel, it did. And for all your histrionics-charged diatribes about right-winged attacks on the left, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the sword does in fact, swing both ways. This isnt about Ms. Sherrod, who did reveal her dislike for 'white, moneyed people in power', but rather the double-standard that is the chosen weapon of the progressives. Andrew Breitbart did nothing other than expose this, and you don't like it. Too bad, all's fair in love and war.
Andrew better not apologize to these people or to anyone, there is a buzz that's out here and boy it makes me mad. Andrew is a genius and we are so grateful for you and you deserve a big gold award and one day you will. I'm waiting for my apology from these creeps that we now have proof it's not true from our crappy what did Rush call them? Oh I'm so mad right now. And they owe Andrew an apology and we will be waiting for it ! grrrrrrrr
What a silly comment, Mondoray. Breitbart didn't fire Sherrod. The White House pressured her boss to fire her as did the NAACP. Now they're doing a u-turn. But, guess what — she has this questionable lawsuit out there with some very probable improprieties and now they're as stuck with her as LA is with Rodney King and his expert driving skills. AND Ben Jealous was in attendance at the speech even though he tore her to shreds as if he was "shocked! Shocked I tell you!" that these words were ever spoken. Talk about getting yourself stuck in a web of your own lies.
If the MSM and the Obamabots want to bring back this story again and again to attempt to hurt AB I say 'bring it'. It will be hilarious to remind everyone how this played out, beginning with the despicable attack by the NAACP on the Tea Party and ending with the fact that Sherrod really did racially discriminate … before she changed her mind. On that one case. How many others didn't get her full assistance and didn't qualify for her poor people color-blindness bonus? Some people — obviously not you — would like to know.
Sheppard Smith is a leftist idiot. I don't know why he even has a job. He's on the level of Sanchez.
Glenn Beck wasn't the only one speaking up. There were several conservative bloggers who wanted more information, but they agreed that the audience's response to what Sherrod was saying was rather telling and dismaying.
I don't think this was a setup. I think there are other shoes to drop, especially given Sherrod's admission that the only reason she ended up helping this farmer was because he was poor. How many other farmers needed help but didn't fit her parameters for 'color blindness'? Not poor enough for compassion. And now the WH is going to be stuck with her like glue.
They want to drop this thing, but I dare them to bring it up in the context that AB "lied". That just restarts the conversation and brings up the tape. They do NOT want that tape shown again once they've buried it, I guarantee it.
They won't bring it up forever because people will end up watching the footage again. And they will hear what she said. Even with the entire context it's pretty damning (I know you don't think it is but trust me … it is). Their only hope is to bark out an accusation against AB and try to get the heck out, burying the whole story as quickly as possible. But with new Journolist bombshells being dropped every day and Sherrod's iffy past (not to mention her current race-baiting commentary in her 15-minutes-of-fame interviews), I feel pretty certain they're not going to dispose of this in the way they'd like.
Main stream media is out to get Breitbart and Fox on this issue..
Lemme get this straight. . .
The NAACP had the video. They put the video on the 'net. AB then used the video that the NAACP provided, but he (and by association the Bigs) is racist?
Fox reports this after the fact, and THEY get slammed by the weak kneed sissies in the MSM as racist?
Maybe the trolls/NAACP/MSM/White House oughta' cut out the Red Bull and relax for a bit. The race card has been played so much and the media has made such a fire storm out of all of this that I needed to watch coverage on Linsay Lohan just to gain some perspective here.
All AB did was illustrate how biased the NAACP and everyone else is.
The White House fell for it and someone got fired.
The MSM had to actually use a watch and a calendar to get the story right, but they epically failed.
And while all of this was going on, Obama got a bill passed that further takes more from the private sector while we all bark at our tails and run around in circles.
FOCUS!
I saw the vid and it had the redemption part in there — they lie all day long.
But she also admitted prior racism and still talked about "one of their kind" — if a Tea partier talked like that about them they would have tried to nail us as racists forever.
TeaForCowards? How about some Kool-Aid for Idiots?
Shut-up and drink your kool-aid.
I knew that the point was about the applause and cheers that she received when she was deciding how much help to give the man. They where cheering the fact she was going to stick it to a white guy. However her later comments that she sent him to one of his own kind should remove her from any position with the goverment. If a white person had said they were sending a black person to there own kind they would have been beat sensless by the media, the NAACP and the Black Caucas and every race hustler in the country. The woman while trying to pass on some sort of revalation to a racist organization shows herself to be racist. But now this administration has her she is tied to them and you will find she is as radical as Van Jones. This administration is not only racist they are incompetent at that as well.
"……….it makes no sense to focus on her."
I'd agree. The left's plan is to throw enough mud and hope enough of it will stick- they can't win on issues and policies. It's an uphill battle for consevatives given that most of the mainstream media is little more than an arm of the Democratic party. What conservatives need to do is to remain on offense and continue expose hypocrisies of the left such as DOJ/ Black Panther scandal and continue to hammer home the point that the administration's policies are destructive to the economy and job creation. It's ironic that the NAACP supports the administration's Cap and Trade proposal(s) that will hurt ALL of us and the least among us the most- the very people they supposedly represent.
(con't) Democrats won both houses of Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008- they now own this mess we're in and forcing them to be judged by the standards which they judged others (i.e Bush deficits vs theirs, General Petraeus (General "Betrayus") will reveal them for what they truly are. And not just the Democratic party either; what passes for "journalism" in this nation needs to have their feet held to the fire- the revelations of JournoList are astounding and frightening.
HAHAHAHAHA! Two responses to my comments and TWO 'kool-aid' references! You am funny and clever! You should try harder to work in references to Obama and his liberal storm troopers shoving things — health care, financial reform or whatever else you fantasize about — up or down your various orifices though. Because that's even funnier!
You must cease the Kool Aide unless you are paid to mislead in which case I could understand your comment. This is so obviously a setup to distract from an administration creating the deceitful illusion that employment is not as bad as it is by creating job killing reporting requirements (compliance and taxes siphon resources from businesses which would create jobs and provide health insurance – we are not suffering from memory loss anymore) and increasing the overhead of the nation without creating private employment to generate taxes to pay for it.
History has a very large number of instances of this adminstration's thinking and they warn, not support it.
“I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started. … And an enormous debt to boot!” — Henry Morgenthau Jr.—pal, lunch companion and loyal secretary of the Treasury to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
“I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises.” — Henry Morgenthau Jr.—pal, lunch companion and loyal secretary of the Treasury to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
“We have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work.” — Henry Morgenthau Jr.—pal, lunch companion and loyal secretary of the Treasury to President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
I am not taking my eye off of the real world for this dog and pony show by the left to discredit the purveyors of TRUTH!
So why aren't you writing this nonsense to Fox? If they reported the story in a way that you feel made you run off in a frenzy then you need to complain to them.
However, "Stars and Bars" (concern troll), Sherrod did discriminate against a white farmer, by her own admission and if anyone thinks that was the first and only time she had that impulse, then I've got two or three bridges to sell you. So, yeah, the left is trying to make the story about something it wasn't but that will come back to bite your asses too.
Did you know that Shirleys father was killed 45 years ago by… a white farmer????
Andrew is not who jumped the shark. The video posted includes the redemption statement the MSM says is missing. What isn't missing however is the gutteral reactions of the NAACP chapter members agreeing with all that happened prior to the redemption bit. It was pure racial-revenge acknowledement. An obvious "you go girl " moment. Racism occurs within all elements of societies. We have been sold a bill of goods when we are told minorities cannot be racist! Excuse me, look to Africa……..the genocidal war involving the Hutto and TuTu had zero white involvment, this was triblal racism at its worst. Within the black american community there exists factions claiming superiority over others based upon what shade of black they are, classic example was the Questions raised about candidate Obama as to the sufficiency of his "Blackness". All within the black community. Take the race-card, put it back in the deck. It has lost its effectiveness.
Excellent point. They have to selectively edit because the black man carrying a gun at a Tea Party rally….
wait for it….
wait for it…
Doesn't fit the narrative!
As a result they are justified in their selective editing and Breitbart, althought he didn't, is condemned because it yet again reveals their bias.
I really do hate that and I mean it because I have locked up murderers and testified against them in court I know the pain it causes there family. But I did not do it. I was no where near Ga. Bet most people and farmers where not.
Superb comment.
So just because I don't drink the same Koolaid you do I'm a liberal? You are so feeble minded. I'm neither left nor right as both sides are full of it and themselves. Start thinking for yourself and stop buying into the propoganda wars going on. It's sad that so many of you, not just here, but on the left too, a sheep following their power hungery shepards.
You wish. This might be a temporary setback, but I doubt it's even that. This whole affair exposes some structural issues within the WH and the NAACP. In any case, your lack of writing ability shows that you are a simple-minded troll. Time to go collect your weekly allowance from Soros. Get along, now.
Child, when you learn how to spell, then you can lecture us, AND when you have some idea what the left is about. Until then, kindly shut up.
There isn't, and there won't be — ever. So you can give up your fake applause and get on back to stewing in your ignorant hate.
So we're all "gears" now, eh? And hypocrites? And then you complain that the story isn't straight? Funny, isn't the goal of a machine to get a story "straight"? It's almost like there's no machine if the story isn't straight, you know. So for internal consistency, you get a zero.
Your last suggestion — give your enemy a dais to attack you from — is the kind of self-beheading maneuver that's the usual leftist prescription for the right. Time to peddle your bs somewhere among people who will fall for it.
So you want Breitbart to be burning in hell forever because you made a rush to judgment? That's the meaning of the word "d*mn" you know. Man, I'm glad I don't know you in real life. Are you always that…well…insane?
Sorry to burst your rightwing bubble but actually, Glen Beck referred to the case on his radio show early Tuesday and indicated then that he would readdress the matter that night on his Fox tv show. Thats what stampeded frightened officials at USDA to force her resignation. Glen duped you all by not mentioning his earlier radio announcement…to make it seem like he was totrally innocent of the machination. In fact, Fox directors had already spread the word that everybody would jump on Breitbart's new clip because he had been the propellant in the successful ACORN forced dissolution. That is why O'Reilly got caught out there and Hannity first aired the clip, they thought they had another slam dunk on liberals. Oreilly was man enough to give a tepid apology for calling for her apology. Hannity still slinks under the radar for his part in the budding Fox smear machination.
You bet AB slipped up, and both left and right media are vile. No one will be satisfied until some crazy bombs a church filled with 5 little black girls or some nut shoots at the president. God, I pray this nonsense of political speech hatred does not go that far. What do you say.
What you and many rightwing thinkers fail to realize is that Shirley Sherrod was thinking through the prism of her father's murder years earlier by a white man over a dispute about livestock. That man was never brought to trial. Her NAACP speech revealed that she had to deliberately gain a level of forgiveness for all white people and do what was right for the Spooner family
It will never die. Think about it, the greatest threat to white people is not black people; its other white people. Hmmm…The Civil War, World War I, World War II. Catholic vs Protestant Ireland. Germany vs Poland. Christians vs Jews. Mormons vs The United States. White people hate each other more than they hate black peole. Black people in America are just caught up between the grinding stones of humanities inhumanity toward man as it is generated in America. Now the story is much the same in Africa, where the chief players are black people.

I'm not keen on the word "threat" as you use it, but I get your point. And on that point I'm reminded of a part of a business management philosophy, taken from studies of social behavior. If you assemble groups to routinely associate, whether in a work context or just life in general, "tribes" form. So, you are right that we have to look out for "others" who want to demean or somehow detract from people for their own benefit. It could be white or black, or it could be liberal or conservative, or it could be man or woman, or it could be English speaking or Spanish speaking, on and on and on. It boils down to a we-them kind of mentality. And the media today feeds the frenzy like I haven't seen before in my lifetime. And even worse, both sides of the political aisle are constantly looking for ways to leverage the tribal behavior, too. Sometimes their influence creates the explosive nature. Clearly, playing the race card against the Tea Party or against the NAACP has been like nitroglycerin.

That man was never brought to trial. Her NAACP speech revealed that she had to deliberately gain a level of forgiveness for all white people and do what was right for the Spooner family; which she did and became longstanding friends with them. It amazes me how 99% of the rightwing bloggers on this case want to blithely forget how the murder of her father first drove her sentiment toward the first white farmers that came to her for help. At the time she was not with the USDA but a worker in an organization to help black farmers save their farms in the south when acutely racist elements in the USDA (at that time) would not help black farmers. I was born in Georgia in 1949 and some farms in my family were lost. Black farmers were neglected by the USDA because powerbrokers wanted their lands.
I didn't see or hear any cheering. I heard the empathatic sounds of agreement and understanding pf black people in the south whose families had been treated with decades of racist meaness from white people. As a young African American marine corps officer returning home from overseas in 1973, and in my green uniforn, I was threatened with a shotgun in a restaurant in Fayetteville, NC. I and my 6 yr old boy were threatened and not served because of our race. One thing that came to mind during that incident was "if men from my platoon, both black and white, were there with me they would have torn that man apart. Thankfully a white army captain from nearby Fort Bragg came to my aide. He, his wife and two children, along with me and my little boy, all walked out together. He refused to pay the restaurant. If I couldn't eat there, he and his family would not eat there…GRRRRRR.
