Thanks again, guys, for the "humor" tag. Otherwise, I'd have had no idea. By the way, CNN provided more coverage on the rally than did Fox News. I found articles in the NY Times and a whole bunch in the Washington Post, too. Not bad for a rally drawing under 100,000 folks, and that was, according to Glenn Beck, non-political. Promise Keepers routinely gets 55,000 people to attend, and that doesn't warrant non-stop media coverage. Heck, Michigan football games have 105,000 folks.

Yes, I'm surely riled up. Matter of fact, I'm fairly apoplectic over this indictment of Chuck Todd and Rick Sanchez, with whom I strongly identify.

So, while you're lurking about, defending your work, answer me this– Is the humor part of this the 500,000 attendees (literary device parody or hyperbole)? Or perhaps the device is irony, in stating that the rally wasn't covered by the media. Or is it that the protagonist seems to be behaving in a somewhat responsible fashion (i.e., isn't foaming at the mouth)? That would be satire, I think.

I'm sorry RichardPortroll, but having seen the Rick Sanchez gaffe – and fully understanding that it was just an old slang term – I still laughed aloud when I read Val & James' punchline with Rick "Dirty" Sanchez repeating the gaffe. The timing was right and it's all about timing.

There's no doubt in hell that government in both parties want to control it. They want to control everything. Especially the left that's still reeling from it's slipping monopoly on information via the MSM.
