Having been caught doctoring pictures during of the violence aboard the guerilla flotilla boat, Mavi Marmara, Reuters is circling the wagons and looking for other ways to discredit Israel.
Officially, Reuters says the elimination of the IHH terrorists holding knives in the pictures it originally published to its wire was an editing error.
Reuters is committed to accurate and impartial reporting. All images that pass over our wire follow a strict editorial evaluation and selection process. The images in question were made available in Istanbul, and following normal editorial practice were prepared for dissemination which included cropping at the edges.

“Committed to accurate and impartial reporting?” Gee, if that was the case why did they add biased captions to the pictures when they posted the non-cropped versions? As reported by Omri Ceren on Big Journalism earlier today the wire service added a political message to the pictures.
Pro-Palestinian activists hold down an Israeli commando on the Gaza-bound Turkish ship Mavi Marmara in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea early May 31, 2010. Israeli marines stormed the Turkish aid ship bound for Gaza on Monday and nine pro-Palestinian activists were killed, triggering a diplomatic crisis and an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council.
I agree with Omri when he says:
“Activists” were “holding down” the Israelis who “stormed” their “aid ship.” That’s a second stab at objectivity; from a media outlet that’s theoretically overcompensating for the functionally doctored propaganda they just got caught publishing.”
The anti-Israel bias of Reuters exhibits itself beyond fake pictures and biased captions, it infects the way they cover Israel-related news. For example, this past November,Reuters reported about Israel’s expansion of the community in Gilo in the story, “White House ‘dismayed’ at Jerusalem settlement expansion:’”
The White House said on Tuesday that it was “dismayed” over Israeli approval to expand the Gilo settlement in Jerusalem and sharply criticized the ongoing evictions and demolition of Palestinian homes.
“At a time when we are working to relaunch negotiations, these actions make it more difficult for our efforts to succeed,” White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said in a statement.”
If you were to read the White House transcript for Gibbs’ statement, nowhere did the press secretary use the word “settlement.” It was Reuters who added that word, fully knowing the inflammatory baggage the word “settlement” brings.

Should Reuters ever take the time to learn the truth, they would discover Gilo is geographically adjacent to the western part of Jerusalem and sit atop land purchased by Jews prior to World War II.
Reuters has constantly tried to downplay Hamas terrorist against Israel. In November 2009, Israel responded to new rocket attacks by the terrorist group with a bombing raid against two factories used to make weapons and a smuggling tunnel under the Gaza/Egypt border.
The attacks occurred one day after Hamas said it had reached an agreement with smaller armed groups in the territory to halt sporadic rocket fire toward Israel, which often responds with air strikes.
Translation: Hamas had nothing to do with the rocket fire, which wasn’t so bad anyway because it was only sporadic, just like the lowest speed of your windshield wipers.
Back in February, when Israel added the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron to its list of Heritage sites, Reuters described the site as the place…
..where a Jewish settler shot and killed 29 Muslim worshippers in 1994 before being beaten to death at the scene. Some 400 Jewish settlers live in heavily guarded enclaves in the city, which is also home to some 150,000 Palestinians.
Truth is, Hebron has always been a Jewish community until a horrific day in 1929 when 67 Jewish residents were massacred by an Arab pogrom.

On hearing screams in a room I went up a sort of tunnel passage and saw an Arab in the act of cutting off a child’s head with a sword. He had already hit him and was having another cut, but on seeing me he tried to aim the stroke at me, but missed; he was practically on the muzzle of my rifle. I shot him low in the groin. Behind him was a Jewish woman smothered in blood with a man I recognized as a[n Arab] police constable named Issa Sherif from Jaffa in mufti. He was standing over the woman with a dagger in his hand.” (Bernard Wasserstein, The British in Palestine: The Mandatory Government and the Arab-Jewish Conflict 1917-1929, Oxford England, Basil Blackwell, 1991)
It seems that not only was history not one of Reuters’ reporters’ best subjects in high school, neither was current events. Today, just a few short days after the latest Reuters fauxtography scandal, the news service got caught skewing a story. In its story about Israel allowing additional types of junk food through its side of the Gaza border Reuters said:
The United Nations says the Israeli blockade has caused a humanitarian crisis in Gaza, an allegation Israel denies.
That is not what the United Nations said. At the end of February the UN’s envoy to the Middle East Robert Serry visited the area and proclaimed “There is no humanitarian problem in Gaza.”
There is that old saying that a picture is worth a thousand words, but when it comes to biased reporting Reuters lying pictures are accompanied by one thousand lying words.

That’s a second "stab" at objectivity. Sorry.
Of all things to crop out of a picture: some feet in flip-flops, the already blurred bloody face, etc., they just happen to crop out what appears to be a military knife.
But I think they cropped it because the dude is holding it like a girl and they didn't want Conservatives claiming he held it like a Lesbian softball player.
Do you expect the muslim journalists and muslim photographers employed by any news organization ever to be professional or honest in any reporting referencing Israel?
They get away with their bias, and the dems/progressives/liberals look for new ways to demonize Israel.
It is so ridiculous, what a small sovereign nation, the size of NJ, has to put up with. Not only vicious terrorists, other countries with murderous intent, but now must deal with a LeftWing media machine that lies, distorts, and writes pages of propaganda for Hamas/Islamists/Terrorists and against the Jewish state.
The Israelis have shown incredible patience in the face of all who would harm her, that is why she needs to be supported at all costs, as a friend and partner in Freedom…
so they cropped out the terrorist with the knife…
You can't have any bad publicity about the Palestinians, can you? Like saying nasty things about the Viet Cong 40 years ago. Just because the Israelis were met with an angry mob doesn't make it a BAD angry mob, does it? Oh, and the 'illegal' blockade? The UN is saying that too, right?
Hmmmm.
A treaty first negotiated in 1902- and ratified in 1994- gave Israel the right to blockade Gaza because it's run by Hamas- a terrorist organization RECOGNIZED as such BY the UN. If it was Fatah, the blockade would be illegal.
Elections have consequences, as they say…

Reuters is nothing but a propaganda arm of the New World Order crowd.
They are a global version of the State-Run Media, they are just doing the bidding of the UN agenda.
well, it is why they want a drudge tax. people know they are making up the news, so they won't buy it. and if you have a well connected lobby, you just get them to tax the people making money, and give it to you, so you never go out of business, and you can keep altering photos, and making up news.
Reuters obviously has choosen not to risk a BOMB going off at H.Q.'s and has decided Dhimmi-servitude is easier to deal with.
This is exactly how ISLAM will seek to DOMINATE the world, "kill 'em or cow 'em!"
Wonder why Reuters did not report this today, not news worthy ?
Taliban militants in Afghanistan executed a seven-year-old boy on suspicion of spying for the U.S.-allied government, according to local reports Wednesday.
The execution, which has not been confirmed by the extremist organization, was carried out in the southern Helmand province, government spokesman Daoud Ahmadi told The Times of India. The boy’s relatives brought the incident to the government’s attention, the newspaper said.
Ahmadi told Iranian news agency Press TV the act was “horrendous.” It was not immediately clear what information the boy was suspected of leaking. The area is mostly controlled by militants, The Times said.
Taliban fighters in the same province shot down a NATO helicopter Wednesday as it tried to evacuate a British casualty. Four U.S. soldiers were killed.
There are currently 142,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan, by the Pentagon's count, including 94,000 U.S. troops, according to AFP.
"Tomorrow Never Dies" friends. When agenda exceeds the need for truth, we are left with a "James Bond" plot. The movie came out in 1997. You can rent it on DVD.
This is why the new media will eventually become "the media". These dinosaurs, today's MSM, have seen their day come and go. They are becoming more irrelevant by the minute!
Speaking of new media here's our latest video. WARNING : It may be too scary for liberals.

It's not like they couldn't crop the opposite side of the picture, which shows the legs of the soldier and a floor mat. Those obviously were far more important than the knife.
These Reuters guy's are incompetent amateurs. Instead of cropping the picture a smart liar would have delivered it as taken and added the caption " humanitarian aid workers wrestle knife away from savage Israeli attackers"
I don't follow Reuters, I like my propaganda delivered by people smarter than that.

It really freaks me out when I realize the MSM really is a propaganda machine.
Find video of "Uncle" Walter Cronkite conceeding South Vietnam to the Communists. It's disgusting. The U.S. and South Vietnamese had just put down the V.C. and N.V.A. in the Tet Offensive abd Walt throws in the towel.
He calls it an "editorial" (small disclaimer) but what's remembered is his swarmy, lousy defeatist whining.
Because quite simply they do not deem it worthy to be called news. Now,if an award for protecting the security of the Taliban from spying by misguided individuals they will write up 6 paragraphs of enlightenment.
'palestinians' were named after 'philistines', a ugly group of violent fishmongers
[...] » In Both Words and Pictures, Reuters Continues To Lie About … [...]
They have lost all credibility!!
Trying to understand WHY any news agency would support terrorists…do they actually think that if the terrorists gain control, THEY will still have a job!!??
[...] » In Both Words and Pictures, Reuters Continues To Lie About Israel – Big Journalism [...]
yup. Came from Greece in pre-history (2000 B.C.?) by boat. Goliath was a Phillistine.
They, and the tone of their reporting, are controlled by the muslim reporters/photographers/editors.
Nothing can be reported that will expose terrorism, or terrorist activities to the light of truth. That's not the dem, progressive, liberal, or muslim way.
Did you know that katusha rockets are fired into Israel by the palestinians many times, each and every week, sometimes daily? Yet we never hear about it. And it's funny, ever since the terrorist flotilla incident, the palestinians haven't been doing their usual rocket firing. hmmmm.
But it's all about media moments. They get the manipulated reporting and photos to set the worst possible impression of Israel and make the best possible case for the 'plight' of the palestinian terrorists.
Now, even though exposed, the damage, the propaganda is done and is effective.
Reuters drones are furiously scribbling notes…
…wrestle knife away…
You're use of the word "exactly" is exactly right. The policy you describe is precisely what the koran prescribes…provided your a monotheist, of course. No? Well, then the policy is simply "Kill'em."
Disappointed….not surprised. Don't expect to get "real" story from MSM…..
Lesbian softball players prefer the hammer grip over the icepick grip, as almost everyone knows. :>
Regarding the cropped photo, the way the knife is held strongly suggests to me that the holder is not gripping the knife as a weapon, but rather as a confiscated item. I suspect that the knife actually belonged to the Israeli commando, and was taken from him. Not to say that the knife wasn't used against him or would not have been at some point, but that's my analysis, whatever it's worth.
It still remains an important part of the photo, telling part of the story, and should not have been cropped.
with fake pictures maybe they have shown malice. its time for israel to sue.
Why did the Palenstians get kicked out Jordon (trans-jordon at the time) and Eygpt????? ANYONE ANYONE BUELER
Because they tried to take over both countries while they were there as guests refugees, same reason they aren't allowed in Arab countries anymore..
Why don't the arabs complain about the KURDs being repressed?????? ANYONE ANYONE
Because the arabs are the ones repressing this group, let alone all the otehr groups that are repressed in Arab countries! I have no clue why anyone in the world would listen to these arab countries at all, they are savages that repress 90% of their populations, enslave and torture women, kill opposing religons, and stone people to death for kissing in public. They are animals that don't deserve our attention or respect and islam is just another excuse for their animal behavior to be passed off a civilized.
In order to kill these propaganda machines you need to STOP DOING BUISNESS WITH THOSE TRYING TO ENSLAVE YOU…>SOCIALISM IS SLAVERY, ENFORCED AT GUN POINT THE SOCIALIST CONTROL THE MEDIA AND SCHOOLS!
hey, man, some of those [lesbian] softball players have quite an arm on them…not to mention, other enjoyable assets – they could probably beat the sh!t out of those Pali pigs, lesbian or not.
They didn't report the lynched boy for the same reason they didn't report the American aid worker slaughtered in Mexico – it isn't a "productive" part of their narrative.
"…any means to an end"
If news agencies continue to act as engaged political activists actively working to undermine and rewrite the Constitution, then maybe we should start "reconsidering" freedom of the press, as well…just sayin'
Sweet irony….
Like watchin jihad E. Coyote hatch another doomed plan….we can all see where it's headed. High comedy. And for those STILL dumb enough to believe ANY MSM NEWS….my care meter's flat as yesterday's souffle.
Ya can't fix stupid.
We've become a sound byte nation. Have you guys seen a recent series of ads where a character says something we've all heard so many times we believe it's true, like,
"ew….it's got corn syrup in it" (remember how we've been hammered to believe corn syrup is next to smoking in the harm it does to our health)
or "ew, it leaves a waxey buildup" about using Pledge dust remover.
Then the ad "debunks" the "ew" factor.
We THINK we know a bunch of stuff we don't. We're just repeating things we hear over and over. Can anyone really tell me why 2% fat milk is HARMFUL. How much of that stuff would you have to drink before it HARMS you? But ads latch on to that "fact" just to sell THEIR ALTERNATIVE PRODUCT. Heck, the crap they put in artificial butter and milk and egg stuff could be just as bad.
Asked to prove how these things harm us, and how much it takes, and other underlying factors….most of us can't say squat. But yet we believe we know. Sound byte-itis.
Are we guilty of the same thing in other areas?
