I can't think of a caption. I just can't stop staring at that photo, though. The gate is wide enough he could have gotten the umbrella through even without closing it so where's the conundrum? They both look like they're trying to solve the problem, although Michelle looks a little scared. Like maybe she expects him to tip it over the top of the gate and let it fall on her head. Maybe that's happened before.
Sorry I can't be witty. I'm just baffled by that image and I'd love to hear/see a logical explanation for what in the world he thinks he's doing.
I'm with you, the umbrella could not only have gone through the gate but would have done so easily with a very minimal loss of protection of the FLOTUS.
Seems another instance of if there is a difficult way to do something, then we have to find it
