Suspected Shooter Ortega-Hernandez
In a nearly thousand-word article written about the arrest and capture of 21-year-old Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, a man suspected of shooting at the White House, you’ll have to read through at least six paragraphs before you get to what should be the most explosive part:
Late on Friday, the police had searched the Occupy DC protest camp, on McPherson Square just blocks from the White House, after reports that the suspect might have spent time there. Protesters there said on Wednesday that the police had been through their encampment several times since then, showing around a photograph of Mr. Ortega.
Yes, that’s right, our suspected shooter apparently spent time with Occupy.
But the memo has obviously gone out throughout the entire journOlist community that this connection must be played down to where it hardly registers at all.
Jared Loughner never once attended a Tea Party, nor did he read Tea Party literature, or subscribe to Tea Party ideas.
Nevertheless, within 24 hours the media elected him to be Chairman Emeritus of the Tea Party movement.
A guy shoots at the White House, and guess what? He’s with the Occupy movement.
And let’s not forgot how Sarah Palin was figuratively lynched by the media for the crimes Loughner’s been charged with after it was discovered her campaign put targets on a map that, uhm, Loughner had never seen.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying the media should treat Occupy like they did Palin and the Tea Party during the Gabrielle Giffords tragedy. Two abominations don’t make a right. But we all know how this story would be playing out right now if the suspect were a Tea Partier. And the worst of it is that we’ll probably never be told the truth.
If the MSM looks into this Occupy connection at all, it will be in a cursory and dutiful way that doesn’t damage their pathetic narrative that a movement that’s starting to resemble a domestic terrorist outfit is really just a bunch of harmless, groovy hippies trying to fix the income inequality, man.

How funny would this be if this gun was traced back to OFF. It will be very interesting to see how the MSM plays this one, after all, this guy took a shot at dear leader, but the Occupy aspect really makes them want to put time and distance between them. I'm curious as to how long they were sitting on this story?

The MSM is still playing up to the TP and Palin being responsible for Giffords being shot by Loughner with the ridiculous interviews speaking of the book where they "expected" an apology from Palin for having crosshairs over Tucson. Giffords will lose continue to lose my sympathy if she or her handlers don't tell Mark to shut up about this crap…Loughner was influenced by his own deranged mind.

How do we know the shooter isn't just a reflection of things Americans aren't happy with? Maybe he's just the tip of the spear of occupiers, expressing his discontent with the same America Obama rejects as well. Obama targeted America-as-we-know-it. It 'all adds up' that a minion might pick up a weapon.

OK, I took the weekend off from the news, so maybe I'm missing something here, but the gun shots were heard Friday and it took until Tuesday for the Secret Service to discover the window had been hit. What am I missing here? How did it take so long for this to be discovered? I'm certainly no Obama fan but this seems like a serious mishap in security at the home of our president.

What it sounds like is that no one realized that the WH had actually been struck.
To be fair to the security folks, they found the gun within a half hour of the first reports of shots being fired. And the bullet holes were found in an area of the WH used for lounging and guests. Since neither the President nor the First Lady were actually in the White House this weekend, no one may have physically been in those rooms until the last day or two, when someone might have actually noticed the damage and connected it with the shooting.
If this guy were some how connected to the Tea Party, there would be BOLD TYPE for weeks on end.

Sorry, but where in the Secret Service press release or interview, National Park Service press release or interview, DC Metro police press release or interview, ATF press release or interview, FBI press release or interview did any of the agencies investigating the shooting say that they verified that the Alleged shooter was confirmed to have been at the #occupyDC camp?

Yes, and the Flamer on Fox, Shepard Smith, implied that if legislation passes allowing CCW permit holders to cross/carry state lines, we will have people like the shooter going from alabama going to DC and shoot at the White House. Please, CCW permit holders are the ones who would stop people like Hernandez cold.

The Left and the MSM spent the better part of 3 years creating and perpetuating – out of thin air – a narrative about the Tea Party and its participants that would manifest itself in ways like this. Their finest minds confided in this country, straight-faced, all their fears if such a radical,delusional 'movement' should ever gain momentum in our beloved America. How could they get it so wrong, unless they've been projecting unto others their true intentions all along?

I've seen plenty of Occupy "participants" in a stupor. If he didn't associate himself with them, then why was he there at all? Why didn't he take pot-shots at them if he was bat-s**t crazy? What does it take to "qualify" as a participant? Because if you didn't count people walking around in a stupor, you'd disqualify 50% of the people there.
lol, I've been to several Occupy events and have seen few people in a stupor, if at all. There are some strange characters, I will say that, but most are regular folk who identify with this movement.
Did you see the person in question? How are you so sure HE was "walking around in a stupor"? I've been to an Occupy event myself, and I promise you there were several candidates for the "stupor" category. Most were from the local college and were more concerned about their Wifi connection then anything else. Point being, what is the actual no s**t, reasonable policy that needs to be passed for them to go away? Can you answer that question?
