On Saturday, a man broke into the home of an Israeli settler family and murdered them all with a knife. There were three children in the home including an infant girl. A three year old boy still had a pulse when rescuers arrived but could not be resuscitated. Israel announced it was looking for the terrorist responsible and began a major house to house search for the perpetrator.
CNN covered the attack but refused to call this grisly crime what it was:

Notice the scare quotes around the phrase “terror attack.” And the story itself stuck with that approach:
Five members of an Israeli family were killed in the West Bank early Saturday morning in what the Israeli military is calling a ‘terror attack.’
Apparently CNN wants to leave open the possibility that this grisly murder was a random crime or a robbery gone bad? Now Israel is demanding an apology.
Responding to the story headlined “Israeli Family of 5 Killed in ‘Terror Attack,’ Military Says,” Oren Helman wrote Kevin Flower that he was “dumbfounded and astonished” to read that the slaughter of the Fogel family is “what the Israeli army calls a ‘terrorist attack’.”
“Your remarks sound as if we are talking about an IDF ‘claim’ that this was ‘a terrorist attack’ and that this is not necessarily the case,” he wrote. “If this is not a terrorist attack, then what is?”
There is objectivity and there is willful ignorance. This is the latter.

CNN…..'The most scustin name in news'
There will be a reckoning.
I would put CNN on the terrorist list and kick every last one of them out of the country.
I hate CNN and everyone who works for them is complicit in their moral relativism, as far as I'm concerned.
I can remember when CNN didn't suck.
Man, I'm getting old.
Probably back when Bobbie Batista sat at the desk (mid '80's). The only reason I remember this is, she looked better then some of the anchors sitting behind the AFRTS (AFN) news desks…
She was crossed eyed like a Siamese cat, wasn't she?
the truth, once again, does not fit The Narrative…
And the media will ignore that which does not drive the Lippmann inspired propaganda machine. It is a beast that requires constant feeding and it has a very specific diet. Thusly:
1) US military action is bad
2) Israel is zionist, and zionism is bad
3) Whites are racist oppressors
4) Tea Party is bad (see above)
5) All opposing viewpoints are not only wrong- but done with evil intent (see Koch bros. for details)
6) Everything is Gay All of the Time
There are other 'bullet points' The narrative requires- but this is a good primer…
You know what they say,
"One man's animal who murders children in their beds is CNN's idea of a freedom fighter."
Such an apology will come when President Obama and his commissars agree that Governor Palin is a wise and all American leader that is the cure for our ills.
Yeah, it was back before Turner got hooked up with Fonda. They got married in 1991 and Ted ruined everything trying to please the unpleasable.
Before she came along, they just reported what was going on.
Back then, we called people who would spin the truth liars. I still do.
I keep trying to thumb up your comment but I've been stopped. As for getting old – your not old your seasoned.
Yeah. It's called FOX news. They lose it every day. Even Sunday.
I never knew which eye to look at. And she wouldn't have known which one of me to look at.
A lot of seasoning used to cover up the fact that meat was old.
If I reply to this. I will have my commenting privileges further removed. I'll be reduced to playing with pigeons like Mike Tyson.
I think IntenseDebate is having its' own meltdown.
Now that you mention it, I do run with a well seasoned crowd.
Thanks!
I never served my country. Thanks to people like you I had that choice. I made the wrong one at that moment in my life. I've got a debt to all of you and I'm aiming to make good on it.
I'm going to politically get this commie bastard, one letter, or one vote, maybe one election at a time!
Israel, you'll just have to get in line. They haven't apologized to US yet for the Fort Hood shooter, the Underwear bomber, the Gitmo detainees……………
Trashing the Tea Party…………..
Oh, I could go on forever.
My story. For all its worth.
Dear Mr. Obama,
Welfare was not practiced in the Doake’s household.
Upon coming home from Junior High school I walked into my fathers office, and began to demand an allowance. As you can imagine I was very persuasive, I explained at length that I could not fit in unless I wore the right clothes, and therefore I would need money to purchase them. I thought this completely reasonable. I, his son, must look good he, my father, must pay. An entitlement mentality only a child could possess.
The old man leaned back in his chair, leaned forward, turned over the sheet of paper he was working on, cleared his Texas Instruments calculator, that cost hundreds of dollars and was 5,000 years old, and said “Well Joe let’s see here . . “ and began to list out all of the costs he was providing for me. At the end he came up with a figure of my share of the family homestead. Then he declared “Joe, how do you want to handle your bill?” At this point not only did I not have an allowance, I was in debt! Growing by the second! Then he explained that I could wash and wax the car to pay him back, and if I wanted money I could go do the same thing for someone else, and he and I would call it even. That gave birth to an entrepreneur. All I needed was a bucket, my dirt bike, some soap, and wax. Pretty soon I had figured out a way to get a car from the local train station to my driveway without the benefit of a drivers license.
Forgetting my breeching the vehicle and traffic law what did I learn through this exercise. For one, the value of money. You see when someone actually does work for something they tend not to act wastefully with what they earn. All that stuff I told my father I wanted to be cool, I still wanted to be accepted by the crowd, but no longer that crowd, I wanted to be part of the smart and athletic crowd. I also opened up a savings account, back then our monetary policy awarded savers, and didn’t punish them like it does today. In addition I wasn’t idle as a young boy, and the idea of earning money caught fire, pretty soon I was mowing lawns, baby sitting, cleaning houses even got a job taking pictures at the local paper. At one point I was making more money then some people double my then age.
Then there is you. You don’t know the value of money, you have no capacity to lead, and you firmly believe that the Federal Government can be made benevolent, that a mosk should be placed less then five hundred feet from the site of the largest attack on the continental United States, instead of putting the gifts Allah, I mean God gave you to work for some positive end. You filled your head with every pinko commie piece of dreck that could fit, and then you sought public office, so you could spread the word of Allah, I mean communism, no wait, dependency, no I’m sorry I forgot the narrative “Hope” and “Change.” I have wondered what it would be like to truly be governed by ones own intellectual and moral inferior, and I must say I feel terrible, but somehow empowered to fight against you.
Actually, the pilot of Air Force one put it best. Do you remember your first step on Air Force One? I do. Unbeknownst to you there was a National Geographic film crew on the aircraft concluding the show describing the 747 that allows you to take all those vacations on our dime. Anyway, the camera is trained on the pilot, and the pilot is concluding his comments, and he sees your limo pull up and he says with a look of loss on his face, his head darting between you and the camera, “ . . . no matter who is President we take them where they need to . . . uh . . . go . . .” He could barely contain his surprise that a commie was elected to be the President of the United States.
Nor can the American people, and on November 6, 2012 we are going to do something about that.
Respectfully,
Joe Doakes

Dear President Obama,
I read your speech and it reminded me of one of the reasons I voted for John McCain for President in 2008. Please allow me to explain, by using a failure of my own character as an example. As my graduation day from high school approached my father realized that I had not applied to college. After all I’m the guy who showed up about a half an hour late for the SAT’s, I had no desire to go to college. I wanted to work. As I’ve mentioned before I spent most of high school working, and my average at the end of it all was B+ to an A. What did I need college for? Why could I not just enlist in the Air Force like my father and my grandfather did? So begins the slow boil argument between me, and the old man. Well, long story short, I come home one day with a chip on my shoulder the size of Mount Everest. The old man wasn’t having the best of days anyway, and I declare that I’m not going to college, no way, never. One thing led to another, my nose was bleeding and I am chewing on asphalt. The next day I applied to five colleges, and express mailed my applications in, I was excepted to one, Arizona State University.
You see Mr. Obama, my father served during a tumultuous time in this nations history. The memories of that time generated a fear in him that I was not prepared to overcome. But all my father saw was a casket, with his son in it, and all I wanted to do was join the Air Force, I wasn’t thinking about the casket, only the “wild blue yonder” the jets, and all the rest. See, one of my dad’s duties then was guarding those caskets coming and going. This left a mental scare that I began to pick in the worst way by my adolescent, and immature approach to enlistment. Later that day my Dad and I made a deal, try college, if it doesn’t take I could join the Air Force. My father was betting on broads and beer, and that would be enough to keep me alive, if he knew what I did that first year in college while living at “Manzanita Hall” he would have put me on the bus to basic training with his own two hands. Now, at 18 I could have walked over to the Air force recruiter in Phoenix and signed up, but to do that would be to break my word, and I only had one nose, and I do not like the taste of asphalt, and I was not in the mood to taste 2X4.
Back to your speech. When a man utters words about war without deeds of past acts to back them up, and worse, in your case you uttered words in the past that gave aid and comfort to the enemy, and put our sons and daughters at great risk, those words said last night, ring hollow, and fall flat. Had Senator McCain been President having suffered, and served, as he had, I cannot imagine he would ever say what you said in a million years. Mr. McCain understands that there is a son or a daughter out there that is going to have to do what I and you failed to do, that is, serve this nation. No matter the geopolitical reception of ones utterances, the notion that a President in time of war must lead the next generation to fight what will be a very long war, if not, leading this nation in winning the longest of wars, must be at the forefront of those comments.
I failed to overcome my fathers objections, and the broads and the beer, to meet my obligation to this country. Who knows what my military career would have attained; I probably would have ended up arming bombs in the desert somewhere, or as an armorer because of my lack of athletic ability, and an insatiable curiosity of all things mechanical, and I don’t think that they would have entrusted an F-16 to someone with eye glasses! But I know this. I’ve a debt to repay to everyone of those that stepped into that breech, and every month I send whatever I can to those organizations that support them, and their families to make good on that debt. If they had a President, and not a photographic political opportunist, that once shared their suffering either as a parent, or as one their ranks, that would make all the difference in the world to them.
In 2010, 2012 and beyond, it will be my honor to do what ever I can to make that a reality.
Respectfully,
Joe Doakes
I hope Israel holds CNN's feet to the fire.
They deserve an apology.
This kind of nonsense is getting mighty old!
CNN, get with the program and report the truth for a change . Show us you have at least a little integrity.
CNN can't report the truth of Islam. They will lose more money that way.
?????????????////
CNN wouldn't even cover the terrorist killings of Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. Now, why do you think THAT was?
So long as when it is reported that, yet again, Israel indiscriminately murders people and miraculously all those who die end up being "terrorists" (even children) that is reported in the same manner…
CNN lacks gonads; they take the eunuch's way out.
Israeli Family of 5 Killed in Bush Trained and Funded Terror Attack.
I ended my relationship with CNN after I saw this: (Search the page for the word 'obtain' — that was it for me)

Maybe the Israelis and the U.S. Jewish community should beef up their blind support for liberal causes, politicians, and media outlets. Clearly they haven't done enough groveling to satisfy these pillars of liberalism. Perhaps the Southern Poverty Law Center could find some appropriate conservative targets to take their mind off the reaming they get from their little liberal "friends". I am not anti-Semitic but I sure think they are dumber than stumps sometimes.
Watching Hillary Clinton all hugged up on Madame Arafat didn't stifle their enthusiasm for supporting her as a New York Senator and Presidential candidate….how is that working out for you now folks…or are you intellectually incapable of learning from your mistakes?
Didn't Obama train and fund them, too?
The so-called Palestinians launch mortar attacks from the rooftops of schools for a reason. But this Israeli family wasn't using their own children as human shields. They weren't trying to use the corpses of their children as propaganda tools. They were just sleeping in their beds. Oh, and they were Jews. I guess that's enough to justify their deaths in your twisted book.
They were committing genocide in slow motion.
The most RUSTED name in news.
The MSM has adopted the same muslin friendly and anti-Semitic approach to Middle East diplomacy as the Obama administration…… we've noticed. What's that muslim word for muslim hospitality?
Obama has had more harsh words for Israeli settlements than he has had for Gaddafi and Ahmedinijad — combined.
.
Excellent.
Again, excellent.
I never did understand why Liberal Jews hate Israel so much, Or why they hate themselves.
http://entertainment.aol.ca/article/roseanne-barr... Oh yes she would be Jewish.
Strangely, they had no qualms about having no quotes around massacre at Jenin: http://articles.cnn.com/2002-04-17/world/israel.d...
which later on turned out to be a complete Palestinian fraud: http://articles.cnn.com/2002-07-31/world/un.jenin...
So, I guess the idea is to put quotes around real events and to have no quotes around fictional events.
NPR did the same thing in their report of this attack.
http://www.npr.org/2011/03/15/134556564/Jewish-Fa...
"No sense yet that anybody knows exactly who did this, whether it was organized or just some murderous group of people?
No, you really haven't heard any distinctive details come out about who could have been responsible for this attack."
The words "busted" or "mustiest" might fit as well.
Obama is the one currently funding them
You know Obummer loves anyone who hates Israel/US
I saw clips of her back in the day saying Israel was one of the greatest countries in the world and we'll always be the bestest of buddies etc. etc.
Oliphant had a political cartoon about that that totally misrepresented the situation before the truth came out.
Being a political cartoonist means never having to say you're sorry.
I read about a hotel over there where all the western journalists hung out and were buddy buddy with the palestains, who would tell them where and when the next spontaneous anti Israel demonstration would take place.
I completely agree. No American money should go to any Arabs… Ever…. For any reason.
Communist News Network is living up to it's title as usual.
May God bless Israel and all the Jewish people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have seen you comment on this in at least two places. PLEASE stop the tone of complete glee. It's awful. We've made many mistakes in the ME, and Bush is no conservative hero, but a six month old baby has had her throat slit. Can you express no concern for this tragedy?
Let's hope this is a sign that Israel is not going to tolerate being pushed around by the media. I hope they finally get tough and really start pushing back and defending themselves.
He's a ghoul, so no. The dead from this atrocity are food to him. Nothing more.
Joe,
I understand (I think) how you feel. My father used similar tactics on me but I was more bullheaded and enlisted anyway. I got lucky and survived with being perforated, and with only minor overwork damage (3 knee repairs, a foot repair, back repair and hernia come to mind) which could easily have been much worse or fatal. My opinion, and most of the guys I served with would agree, is that no citizen should feel bad about serving/not serving. We all must make choices, and as long as you are not a welfare (read OP [other peoples] money) consumer then you are a contributor to our freedom. Don't feel bad that you didn't serve, and continue to fight (figuratively) for what you believe in.
Yer still a moron.
