James O’Keefe still gets my vote for investigative journalist of the year. Teaming with Hannah Giles to expose illegal and immoral tactics deep in the ACORN shakedown operation was brilliant. Now, O’Keefe has one-upped himself with his exposure of an MSM drowning in its own leftist ideology.
American journalists once cheered for those among their own who were brave enough to risk jail in the quest of exposing corruption and malfeasance. Yet when O’Keefe and his band of whippersnapper journalists went undercover, disguised as telephone repairmen in the hopes of exposing Senator Landrieu’s denying her own constituents phone access to her, the MSM fell all over themselves denouncing the young men.
Rush to judgment? No. It was a stampede.

From MSNBC, CBS, the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, Talking Points Memo and others came shrill, utterly false headlines about “attempted bugging” and the “new Watergate,” which are now being corrected or retracted with but a faint whisper. MSM “journalists” in high-and-mighty places haven’t had this much egg on their faces since their coffee-klatch therapy sessions over the misunderstood, “non-jihadist” Ft. Hood terror attack.
Bravo Mr. O’Keefe, honey!
Writing as a boomer conservative, who was in my youth a raging leftist, I know well the forces at work against you now, and can only salute your willingness to go to the mat to expose liberal corruption, wherever you find it. Although, as an old mom, I would discourage you from carrying through with, perhaps, not-thought-all-the-way-through plans in the future, I still must commend not only your intentions, but also your guts.
Though you may pay personal consequences for your actions in the Senator’s office, you have succeeded in bringing two important items to light.
One, you brought necessary scrutiny to the charge that Senator Landrieu may have been, on purpose, blocking phone calls from her own constituents. You learned firsthand, evidently, that her phone system was not unable to receive calls as she was apparently telling her constituents. In allegedly blocking thousands of irate voters’ calls, under the guise of a malfunctioning telephone system, Senator Landrieu may have been abusing her office in quite dishonest fashion. If true, then that would be a serious breech of public trust, as any fair journalist would be forced to admit. Of course, the Senator denies this allegation and has insisted that too many calls “jammed” her phone lines. Nevertheless, now pressure will mount on the Senator to deal with disgruntled voters.
Second, you have demonstrated in full public view – once again – why the MSM is literally drowning itself in its own leftist ideology.
This isn’t your grandfather’s mainstream media.
During the 1960s a veritable revolution was brought to bear on American institutions by disenchanted young people, namely my own generation. The revolutionaries’ primary raison d’etre, in the beginning, was ending the Vietnam War. At the war’s conclusion, however, the American boomer left, some of whom had by now become communist revolutionaries, was far from satisfied. From their own privileged pedestals of affluence and prestige, they viewed America has inherently corrupt and in dire need of complete reorganizing.

As two former top-echelon radicals, David Horowitz and Peter Collier, documented in their book, The Destructive Generation, the radical communist revolutionaries of the 1960s never went away. They simply left the streets and poured into American institutions, working their ideology into every university. Their primary targets were the law and journalism schools, the colleges of education and the machinery of the Democratic Party. In all of these endeavors, they have been amazingly successful.
Horowitz and Collier summarized the ultimate aim, as elucidated by the movement’ chief philosopher, John Jacobs, thusly:
The idea was not to create a perfect state operating by the clockwork principles of Marxist law but to promote a chaos that would cripple America and ultimately cast it into receivership that would be administered by the morally superior third world.
The American mainstream media, after several decades of this leftist ideology permeating journalism schools, now works on a predictable paradigm.
The primary operating principle of the leftist journalist’s paradigm is the presumption that all former underdogs (“the morally superior third world”) are, in fact, always morally superior — in every instance. Our mainstream media is now under what they consider a power-reverse mandate. Every member of every group that were once underdogs in America – all non-whites, women, gays and now Muslims – are to be given the extreme benefit of the doubt in terms of means, motives, and ends.
In the 60s radical worldview, nothing can be right with the world until the former underdogs are running everything. And it is the job — in their minds — of every “journalist” to advance this aim. Even though members of these once-underdog groups now are in the pinnacles of power, including the presidency, ideological journalists cannot embrace the shift because, in their minds, it is far from a complete and irreversible takeover. Complete and irreversible it must be – in their brainwashed minds.
This is the very mindset at work against anyone who would question the motives, means or ends of the ACORN shakedown operation. This is the very mindset at work against anyone who dared to broach the radical nature of Barack Obama’s past associations. This is the mindset that causes propagandized “journalists” to shy from denouncing “third-world” Muslim terrorists. This is the same mindset that the president used to pre-judge police officers in Cambridge as “acting stupidly.” And it is the same ideological mindset, which caused leftist journalists to jubilantly flay James O’Keefe before having any of the facts.
Assuming untruths to be true, simply because they come from an erstwhile “underdog” group, is not journalism. Presuming innocence of all like-minded partisans to further a political ideology is as far from genuine reporting as one can get. It is blatant ideology masquerading as “fair” and “non-partisan.” And it is this blatant leftist ideology, which is drowning the MSM. Radical communism is no more palatable to knowledgeable Americans today than it was in the 1960s. It simply looks as though it is because the radicals espousing it now do so wearing suits in mainstream media outlets. The people, however, see through the tacky façade and, more and more, tune them out every day.
So, once again, I say bravo to Mr. O’Keefe and to every brave, young soul that dares to face off against the mainstream media today. You are the counter-revolutionaries we’ve been waiting for.

"One, you brought necessary scrutiny to the charge that Senator Landrieu may have been, on purpose, blocking phone calls from her own constituents. You learned firsthand, evidently, that her phone system was not unable to receive calls as she was apparently telling her constituents."
Is this accurate? Did I miss this somewhere? Where was this reported?
They may be drowning in a false ideology but they never seem to die…As long as the MSM "journalists" get their weekly paychecks, why should they re-examine their views? Until the execuitives at the top get a clue, FNC will always be eating their lunch….
Great article.
No, this isn't our grandfathers MSM.
No, investigative reporting has certainly changed.
The article refers to the civil unrest of the 1960's, citing the Vietnam era. I would go back a tad further to the early 1960's. What James O'Keefe just had in Senator Mary Landreius office, was his very own "Lunch Counter" moment. James O'Keefe was just Rosa Parks, and he just sat in the FRONT OF THE DAMN BUS!
THAT IS WHY THE MSM IS SO PISSED OFF.
A great piece of journalism. I remember the 60's and the destroy with no solutions to replace the destroyed with. That's what the media is doing today. They have shown absolutely no inclination to look behind any of the administration's policies or the people that administer them. Going back to before the election, no one in the media had any curiosity about Obama and his life. After the election no one in the media had any curiosity about his campaign donations from foreign sources. They did about McCain's campaign though. Chris Matthews latest gaff would have brought total condemnation on any conservative and a round of calls for them to resign. You are right about the journalism schools of the past two decades being in the tank for leftists of any stripe. Throw in demonic Islamic underdogs too. Tell me Kyle-Anne, where is the MSM headed?
We are in a war of moral, intellectual, political and spiritual ideas.
Thank God we have Breitbart websites like BigJournalism, and columnists like Kyle-Anne and investigative journalists like James and Hannah on our side.
seriously, this is your take-away? if, as the federal official claims, these guys were there to render the phones inoperative (and under false pretenses to boot), that is a felony. so your attempt to blow this off is to try to turn this into a coup for the scrappy investigative reporters against the MSM? this goes beyond trying to make lemonade from lemons. more like trying to make a cake from a turd.
David(O'Keefe) continues to throw pebbles at the Giant(MSM), until he cut's their head off, Keep going James!
Which MSM Network will be the first to see the light and realize the value, (to the bottom line), to take an honest look at the news and stop looking at everything thru a warped idiological prisim?
Even money on CBS
3-1 against on ABC
100-1 against on NBC
We will see what we will see..
There is running through America a wind that says, "Something is terribly wrong, why are seemingly smart people hell-bent on sending thIs wonderful country into bankruptcy?" The wind also says, "Everything seems unside down." The America of our Grandparents is morphing to a strange new world, one that is doomed to create a hell on earth."
The Russian revolution is being fought in our halls of Congress from DC to Calif, to the East Coast. We need to read Russian history, they did not create a utopia, it was death camps, people disappearing by the millions, and it went bankrupt. Can't we learn something from history?
I think Comcast will complete gut NBC and begin to compete with FNC head to head….Just MHO
Perfect as always ! Glad to see you here – Kyle Ann !
O'Keefe is concerned about the Senator's constituents and decided to 'investigate' complaints many couldn't reach the Senator's office on the telephone. So he and his dormrat buddies went 'undercover' to solve the 'problem'.
Thanks for the laugh. And thank's for the laugh in the description of yourself as a 'boomer conservative' after being a 'raging leftist' in your youth. Right.
A better description would be raging boomer reactionary.
Lessons learned at the 'Leadership Institute'. Good old Karl Rove himself lied and schemed in his college days as well as a Nixonian trickster. And he's handing down his gifts to another generation of uptight middle-class types frightened by change and terrified at the prospect of losing their privileges.
PS James O'Keefe to do his first post-arrest interview on Hannity on Monday
I should have qualified with "As currently structured"….Hope you are right….Would love to see the MSLSD freaks in the unemployment lines…Mathews can stay… He can be quite an entertaining chameleon…
Not with BBObamba in charge of the "Ministry of Truth" and the MSM running cover 24/7…
[...] being broken and that calls were being blocked. It’s interesting if it’s accurate (link): James O’Keefe still gets my vote for investigative journalist of the year. Teaming with [...]
And who wil gain those 'privileges', comrade. The "people", like they did after the Russian revolution?
You are embarrassing yourself with your marxist tripe. it's been tried and it failed horribly. Your utopia is a nightmare in reality.
Don't bother honest people who are actually improving things for everyone through capitalism and democracy.
"Our mainstream media is now under what they consider a power-reverse mandate. Every member of every group that were once underdogs in America – all non-whites, women, gays and now Muslims – are to be given the extreme benefit of the doubt in terms of means, motives, and ends."
And this is Political Correctness at it's core-value. Majority is now minority, minority now majority (disregard Webster's Dictionary from day forward).
Media in all arena's are motivated by their agenda's. That is indeed fact. It's no wonder American's get confused by the news these days. What was once considered the last bastion of sanity and integrity has become itself just another freak show. No longer can we tell fact from fiction from simply reading a news article anymore. If one yearns for fact, you need to "google" it with the hopes your search is successful in obtaining some form of clarity. The blogs/comments on the James O'Keefe statement started out with reasonable comments but eventually grew to a name-calling pissing contests. What good does any of this do for us? Nothing. O'Keefe has been convicted, judged and sentenced by "peer-wannabe's" that will never-ever come close to hearing all the facts in the case. Last I checked, in America's courts of law, one is still innocent until proven guilty. But in the MSM, it's just the opposite. I'll keep my judgments to myself and shake my head reading some of the tripe being posted on this and other sites. Once the truth is out, I don't expect those who end up with pie in their face over their immediate assertions to come back and state, "my bad". I do however, like how this site organizes poster's comments on record. Over time, it's easy to see where one stands on the issues. Something to ponder for future reference.
The reason that the mainstream media is so supportive of the Obama and Democratic agendas is that the Obama and Democratic campaigns pay enormous sums of money to the media outlets during the campaigns in “advertising.” In other words, the campaigns are bribing the news media to report favorable coverage.
It's best not to trust anything that comes from any Federal agency now or especially from the office of Sen Landrieu. She is sitting in her office due to stolen elections by the black voters and Louisiana corrupt Democrat politics. Don't expect any honesty from her or any other Democrat. They make Madoff look like a Saint. Madoff stole billions while Democrats are stealing trillions–and passing laws to make it legal.
Hybernicus
Do you think the Repubs paid the MSM for advertizing??? I believe I saw an ad or two on NBC during the last campaign…
The affidavit does not mention an attempt to render the phones inoperative, but to interfere with the phones. This is a felony? What is you source for this statement? I would think maybe a misdemeanor.
What federal official and why was this not a charge in the affidavit? You're clinging to talking points that have been scattered to the wind.
I can't stand Hannity. I wish he'd talk with Hugh Hewitt. He does a much better interview.
Where does anything say they intended to render the phones inoperable? You also specify "if", then treat the word "if" as though it meant "this is proven" or "they did".
Kyle-Anne – this piece is nothing less than journalistic magnificence!! For those of us who are not up front and out there in the mainstream of the political arena, our information often comes from articles such as you have written. Of course, over the years, I have whittled down my daily news sites to only a trusted few, hence my reading your article. Thank God for people such as yourself who take the time to apply your God-given talents and abilities to exposing the hypocrisy, arrogance, lack of integrity, and in some cases, outright and wholesale malfeasance, disrespect by our elected officials and their wanton disregard for the American people who elected them. How dare an elected official refuse to take phone calls from an angry constituency — it shows how far they have distanced themselves from the electorate and how on how high a pinnacle of hubris and self-importance they have placed themselves. But, hey, their leader, Obamarammadamma is their role model. What else could we expect?
Good on ya' girl – a very well-written and gutsy expose of…kryptonite…AKA, TRUTH!
"Writing as a boomer conservative, who was in my youth a raging leftist"
One thing we can expect. The herd mentality is real. Real in markets. Real in life. Once the herd reverses direction….
And the herd is running from that sinking ship known as the Progressive Movement. You can hear it. And the true deniers are getting flattened and bloodied.
I am starting to become seriously concerned about "Tingles" grip on his sanity.
God Bless women like you and Tammy Bruce!! Thank You!

He can be offbase, like for the last 10 years, but with a little re-education, I believe he's still an asset..
But the star seems to be flaming out fast… The Catch-22 for him is if he moderates he'll keep his job and make money, but he may be viewed as a turn coat by the left….He has to move gradually right not suddenly, like blame Bush only weekly instead of daily like now…
This whole episode is turning out to be a great lesson of unintended consequences. Mr. O'Keefe's original intention of exposing Landrieu's inattention to her constituents may be overshadowed by what resulted from his arrest: the rush to judgement by a vindictive, biased media to convict him. That will turn out to be the more important story.
You've just articulated the entire point of the article.
Her point was the over reaction of the leftist MSM and all of its koolaid drinkers. Whether or not the phones were operative has become secondary in the wake of the rabid over reaction that nails spot on the Left's irrational ideology. It must suck to be liberal.
Great job O'Keefe! The unintended consequences warrant a trophy! The Left is exposed for the hyperbolic dolts we already knew they were.
Your sudden faith in "federal officials" is stunning in its hypocrisy. Federal officials claim lots of things that wind up being patently false. Do you always give federal officials" the benefit of the doubt, or only when the initial findings fit your own biases?
Where these men caught with tools or equipment that were made to disable phone lines? This we do not know, but people like you, mossdale, want to trample on the rights of people you don not like and/or disagree with philosophically. I'd be willing to bet you were part of the angry mob ready to crucify the Duke Lacrosse Team during the manufactured rape case that one of the worst cases of media created rush to judgment in modern history. We are ALL presumed innocent, mossdale, at least for now. If/when the regressive complete their assault on the Constitution, that will dramatically change.
Very powerful article indeed, and perfectly defines the MSM’s herd mentality.
In the fact that the response was, presumably, "our phones don't need repair… arrest them!"
So, I guess that's more of a guess based on that evidence. Not sure though.
You are as ignorant as you are foolish. Pick up a book, if you can, and read about the destruction your precious "change" machine has wrought throughout the world. We don't need "change" in this country, we need to preserve this country, as it is an island of liberty floating in a sea of tyranny, death and destruction. Take care what you wish for, Arthurstone, take care.
Oh, and one more thing. The script from which you read is tired and out of date. You may want to write your own some day. Sapere Aude!
They're like the guy, who when his boat was taking on water, put a whole in the bottom to let the water out.
They will see what they want to see.
Are you serious? You guys are still blaming Karl Rove for everything. I don't know whether to laugh or to cry. It's 2010! Move along!
II see no grand conspiracy by the MSM, just faulty assumptions. In fact, FOX NEWS ITSELF WAS NOT IMMUNE FROM JUMPING THE GUN.
When the news broke on the Jan. 25, 2009, FoxNews responded to it this way:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-9PILmocMA&fe...
“SHEP SMITH: So, they’re saying basically, they’re in there — It sounds as if what they’re saying is, they’re looking for some ACORN hanky panky and they try to TAP into Mary Landrieu’s telephone to get it.
GAUGHAN: That could be one way of looking at it, yes.”
StanH…Rush said this a couple of months ago …Seems appropiate today as to why they can't or won't change..
"The mainstream media are so liberal and in the democrat "tank", they remind me of fish in water who are so accustomed to being wet, they don't even realize that they are. " MahaRushie ….. circa Oct09…..
Makes sense to me…
Kyle Ann,
Congratulations on your move to Breitbart. This is truly a site where "your grandfather's journalism" can comfortably exists. Your piece today dovetailed perfectly with Glenn Beck's story on the history of "Progressives" in American since the beginning of the 20th century. Your common sense approach and Andrew Breitbart's committment to true journalism is our only hope of salvaging our Constitution.
Good luck in all your endeavors.
Ah. Got it. Can't 100% read it that way, but I see where one might. Regardless of what happened or didn't happen in the Senator's office, Shiver is spot-on the over-reaction.
Brilliant observation, complements of the mighty Rush, always right!
When up against pukes like that, you do what you gotta do.
Now how do you feel about your tax dollars supporting THIS crap?
Astroturf website attempts to smear tea parties. http://dailycaller.com/2010/01/29/labor-union-mon...

Right on the money! As you always are. Welcome to Big Journalism! Look forward to your articles and commentary as I used to on AT. Give O”Keefe half a chance and he’ll hang these libtards up to dry! He has a nose for these things and they know it. That is why they’ll do anything to put him under.
Excellent article !!!
It's hard to believe that the media fell for the bait.
Marxism is an ideology with a complete belief system. One of these beliefs is that it is a Scientific fact that mankind evolves from feudalism to capitalism to socialism to communism. (It is a proven scientific fact–the debate is over.)
It is also a core belief that people are incapable of getting along with each other. The notion that a person can treat another as he/she wishes to be treated is fantasy. There is permanent struggle among people that forms into "class-warfare".
In order to give the inevitable evolutionary forces a little push past the point of no return, it is important for dedicated Marxists to "intensify the class struggle". In other words, these forces of chaos are not random. It is a concerted effort to foster revolutionary change to the next step on the evolution of mankind.
This is why there must always be an "enemy". The enemy is the Rich, Wall Street, bourgeouis complacency (prosperity) or some "other". "You will not be taxed, we will tax the rich." Simply substitute the words "middle-class" for the "proletariat" in your talking points.
The more class conflict that can be created, the sooner the next phase of societal evolution.
when are we gonna learn that we are being taken over by liberals. obama couldn't even run Haiti. Him and biden need to get a job, maybe in Haiti, try to straighten out those poor people who have no clue. We need Sarah Palin to run our country and straighten things out. She'd get plenty of help from Malkin, Ingraham, Hannity, Beck, and all the true patriots out there!
"uptight middle-class types frightened by change and terrified at the prospect of losing their privileges."
Are you a liberal, and therefore detched from reality, or a fullbore Leftist and therefore consciously lying? Either way piffle like this remains what it always was: bullshit.
What "privileges" do you think the middle class is losing, and why do you think it's a good thing?
Oh how I did miss your keen, on-the-money observations. Glad to see you back better than ever and twice in one week. BRAVO!
I can attest to the truth of the Senatorial affices not answering calls or allowing messages to be left. As for Senators Warner and Webb in my own state of Virginia, each has email sites for messages and will return canned responses based on the subject matter you select. Try and call one and you'll find the mailboxes full and/or holding for staff members to answer down off to a busy signal. Sure, they might be that busy but, then again, they might not.
Didn't the president advisor and friend actually blow up a police station. Sure he served his time but he said later after his time was served he did blow up enough. This is our Presidents friend. I am more concerned about Bill Ayers than James Okeefe and so should you be Olberman
There is a move in Louisiana to recall Landrieu. Sign the petition and git er done!
WOW….Talk about "2 Minute Hate"…
But, seriously, many "Boomer Conservatives" here were in the past "raging leftists", but fortunately many of us grew TFup….But alas, some are "toetaggers"….
Thank you K A Shiver. I could not agree more. And I could not be more ready to give more to this cause. Interesting, I’m more and more thinking this must be what it was like cutting the ties that bound the colonists to the concoction of a world that England had muscled it’s way to creating on this side. Like now – generations thought that it must be the natural order of things to be told what to think and to pay for the privilege of being told. And like then – people were popping up saying enough is enough. How the guardians of the gate must have rushed at any sign that the unruly were coming apart or making a fatal error. Some of us know how that turned out. Today those gatekeepers are mostly empty suits and phony followers of an ideology that has turned in on itself to produce poorly and narrowly educated journalists and employees of the media. They rush the unruly still – and some of us know how that’s going to turn out too.
Brilliant deconstruction of the left. The triumph of cultural marxism over economic marxism.
These people are FREAKIN COWARDS!!!!
A fish can't see the water he lives in. This comment is succinct, salient and in fact is the "crust of the biscuit".
"Is this accurate? Did I miss this somewhere? Where was this reported?"
This is what we're talking about folks. This is what we're dealing with.
O'keefe scored a twofer. Landrieu's office might have to start taking phone calls from constituents and the MSM will have lost credibility for at least some who thought they had any left.
See this for more info…
http://www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2010/01/29...
Arthurstone, you are so typical of the name-calling that's emblatic of your sinistra comrades. Kyle-Anne doesn't need anybody to defend her. Suffice to say, however, that she has hit the current day "revolutionaries" and their modus operandi on the head. Instead of EXAMINING, you decide to bring up Karl Rove instead of trying to at least exercise a modicum of critical thinking about your own heroes. Every heard the expression, "feet of clay?"
I got the gist of the story. That quote stuck out — and if true has fairly large implications. Hope you're not suggesting I'm a liberal — if so, I think your 'lib-radar' needs to be adjusted. WAY to sensitive.
Are you Ellie Light?
Your feeble attempts to sling mud never gets above the ankles.

This article goes a long way towards explaining the obvious bias and seemingly corrupt Main-Stream-Media. Truly, with Leftist Ideologues in power it really does seem like the media is “State-Run”. Keep talking it up and explaining. The rest of us should do the same. Talk it up because when knowledgeable Americans understand the background of these people and what is at stake, they will not support these TRAITORS.
Due to the progressive designs of Woodrow Wilson the Republic has NEVER been the same. The onslaught on law schools has eviscerated Constitutional Law & replaced it with Case Law, so the 'progression' of liberal precedents remains intact. One must recall the repeated use of 'precedent' in confirmation hearings on Supreme Court judges. Onto the revolution in Journalism schools by Lippman, slowly replacing the facts of reporting with the opinion of reporting. The point being, only elitists teaching, and reporters reporting, know better than the masses. Onto the schools of Education. None of their revolutionary, progressive tactics stick without indoctrination of the youth, whereby history is revamped and social justice reigns supreme. The leader of the pack is Teachers College of Columbia University.Onto James and the hot water he is in. In a really free Republic James would be hailed as a superhero by the leaders. He would be given accolades for shining a VERY public light on corrupt forces. Alas, he is now the poster boy of Watergate break-ins, an outrageous comparison.James, stand tall, stay proud, and know there are MANY Americans who applaud you. There are moms all over who would be proud to call you – son. Adina Kutnicki, Israel
Mr. O'Keefe has also made it very clear who in this country is REALLY into making tea. As always, the MSM "journalists" are lined up on their knees waiting for their opportunity to make some black tea. Mmm, mmm, mmm!
Alinsky's Rules have been on display in MSM drive-by reporting on this story. Thank you Mr. O'Keefe for shining the light onto rat hubris and bovine scatology that defines marxist hyperbole. Give Mary another gin and tonic…
To Steve in AZ: I assume you are talking about Bill Ayres. He didn't serve time. He got off on a technicality. He said, after getting off: Guilty as hell, free as a bird". He is still spewing hate toward the country that he really doesn't even deserve to live in.
Can't help but wonder how this would be covered if 4 union activist had tried this sort of thing…
The MSM would have covered it the same way, and you folks would be calling for hangings for treason…
You must consider that you suffer from some sort of political schizophrenia…
I'd bet with HiPlainsDrifter except his odds are too low..
CBS 10-1; ABC 25-1 & NBC when pigs fly
An analogy I'll have to remember next time somebody says that the media aren't biased: "Fish don't know they're wet, either." Thanks for that one.
James, don't quit what you do, as you are a genius…and Kyle-Ann, you keep writing about it. You both have MSM looking soooo bad.
Valora, you are absolutely correct in recommending that people study Russian history to gain insights into what's happening here. I became enthralled with and curious about the Russian revolution and 30 years ago, and have read nearly everything published about the country since, reading early histories for background and the many fine books published in the last two decades, after the fall of the Soviets and the opening of their archives. I have focused on the cultural and political histories from the liberation of the serfs to the ascendancy of the Bolsheviks. The similarities in attitude, characters and tactics are chilling.
Where does it say they were there to render the phones 'inoperative'? The FBI affidavit is the only authoritative source I'm aware of and I don't think that's in there.
Sources, please…not speculation and disinformation.
Words mean things.
Please substantiate your charges that Rove 'lied and schemed' in college. Did he behave differently than any other college student or do all college students 'lie and scheme'?
If you're going to make a charge you should be ready to back it up when called on it.
I don't believe you can.
For your next article, please analyze the conspiracy to ignore John Edwards's adultery during the 2008 primary campaign. Had we known then what we know now, Obama would have run a very distant second to Clinton, and John McCain would probably be president.
I think the whole problem can be traced back to when "reporters" morphed into "journalists". Just think about those two words. Reporter=one who reports v. Journalist=one who journals (journals being more often associated with feelings, observations, reflections, rarely "just the facts").
What we need to day are more investigative *reporters* like James O'Keefe who take chances to get at the truth.
Actually the Communist attempt to de-stabilize the United States dates from the beginning of the Cold War, with Senator Joseph McCarthy's exposure of Soviet spies in the Army and the State Department, exemplified by the Rosenberg and Alger Hiss traitors. The frantic Leftist character assassination to which McCarthy was subjected changes nothing: his charges were true. The Left's treasonous campaign to subvert America by dividing and disuniting its people continues unabated, but they have a problem. They can't create anything positive, because their policies have no merit in the real world. Totalitarian collectivism is utterly destructive, and their pretense of "empowering underdogs" is a lie. They are out only to "empower" themselves, but as we are witnessing with the Democrat thugs in Congress and the white House, they pollute everything they touch. Pointless, isn't it? Yet they still don't get it. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness just aren't in their brain-dead universe.
I don't think what they are called is the problem….The problem is their world view and values…
Ah, mossdale is back. The troll has peeked out from his cave; life is now complete. LISTEN: the reason the MSM is hammering O'Keefe is because he's doing the job they CLAIM to be doing, and they know it. He' exposing THEM as much as he's exposing Landrieu. Gone are the Watergate values of investigative journalism in the Big Media. The only practitioners of this lost art are the young upstarts. As they say, never get into a pissing match with someone who buys ink by the barrel. I would say to O'Keefe: you're in a pissing match with people who own broadcast airtime by the frequency. But, this isn't you father's MSM: these are people hanging themselves by their own petard; and the public has become wise to their ways. It is in this moment when someone like O'Keefe will succeed… in the long run. He will go through hell, but he will come out the winner.
And all four of these cowards are members of the 101st Chickenhawk Battalion – bravely advocating wars for other people to fight in. They could all enlist now and go to Afghanistan – or even Haiti – but they’d rather play dress-up and pull pranks that the guys in “Jackass” would find embarrassing.
Yes, Kyle-Anne is one of my favorites.
jpmzo: funny you do not want to credit a federal official–Brietbart does. His call to media outlets to retract statements alleging wiretapping state "a law enforcement official has conceded that the four men were not attempting to wiretap or intercept calls." the link Breitbart provides is to an MSNBC site (image that!) where the unnamed official is claimed to state (and I say claimed, as this is not given in quotes in the story):
"A law enforcement official says the four men arrested for attempting to tamper with the phones in the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D) were not trying to intercept or wiretap the calls.
Instead, the official says, the men, led by conservative videomaker James O'Keefe, wanted to see how her local office staff would respond if the phones were inoperative."
Unless the phones were already inoperative (something the guys could have figured out very quickly by picking up the phones and listening for a dial tone), then the only way to tell how she would respond to them being inoperative would be to render them inoperative. this fits with the allegations in the affidavit that the guys "manipulated" the phone handset and later went to the telephone closet. this also fits the allegation of interfering with a phone system.
and re: my "sudden faith" in federal officials, and duke–what??? but if you are willing to bet, you'd lose on that one. and as to presumption of innocence, I'm going to go out on a limb here, but I'll bet I am far more familiar with this concept (and due process, rights of accused, etc) than you realize.
to WasabiPeas: one minute on google turns up Title 18 US code Section 1362 which puts the penalty for willfully or maliciously interfering with a phone at ten years, which I think is a bit long for a misdemeanor. and the charge is entering on false pretenses to commit a felony–which would be interfering with a phone system.
this is not to say they will be charged with a felony, only that on the limited information available there appears to be some basis for a felony allegation (not necessarily wiretapping). I am certain the guys are going to argue they were merely there to make sure the phones were working, which if credible would remove the charge to a misdemeanor of entering on false pretenses without an intent to commit a felony.
Isn't that the point?-the MSM will NOT report this.
Well, I certainly was not able to get through to the 'good' Senator or her staff ! I was considering filing a missing Senator report with the Capital police
Thanks for a really interesting article. Should have known there would be more than meets the eye after the initial MSM (mis) reporting. And to James O'Keefe, Hannah Giles, and other young activists: thanks for your courage and for your willingness to expose inconvenient truths. Keep up the great work.
While a case could be made that exposing a misconduct of a U.S Senator is in the public interest, the clumsy, amateur crew execution, diminishes from the critics of the endemic abuse of power and total lack of ethics in the public service. These clowns should have first taken advantage of their new glory, waiting to see what the lawyers will do about their ACORN revelations, allowing newbies to try a new expose. They produced a great deal of discredit to those who hope for real change, not what Obama and his wacky Socialists have in mind.
Let's see. Man dresses in disguise to enter a federal building under false pretenses. Is caught in the main phone closet of said federal building. And yet people are defending this action. Only true fascists would find this to be OK.
It seems to be an established fact that Landrieu to a bribe for her vote when the bribe money belonged to us and not Harry Reid. This is dishonest but consistent. The more they try to cover the more the will expose.

I was an angry youth in the 1960s but even then I asked other angry youth what ideas did we have to replace the ones we were destroying. I never got an answer. It seemed that the destruction was enough. Unlike Droctulft in the “Story of the Slave and the Warrior” by Jorge Louis Borges, we angry Baby-Boomers never learned to appreciate the work of our forefathers.
God help us.
I agree with Mme. Shiver's sentiment. I also believe that illegal entry into an elected
U.S official is harmful to the message and those who share the same critical views of the
author because discrediting the agenda by an amateur crew is a bad way to win followers.
One cannot leave in the hands of well meaning cowboys to take the law in their hands,
regardless of their conviction that wrong doing is in progress. Can one argue with the fact
that O'Keefe's crew are not trained in such work and should not take upon themselves such
illegal activities.
Happy spamming…
