You need to give me some money. And you need to do it right now.
Let’s be clear – this is an emergency. The time for debate is over. The time for action is now. There is a clear consensus among experts in the field of law, like me, that you are legally obligated to give me some money.
Why? Well, it’s a legal thing, and frankly you wouldn’t understand. I’m a lawyer; I do understand these things. You need to trust me. Our futures – and our children’s futures (particularly my children’s) – depend on it.
Now, I reject any attempt to compare this important crusade to the advocacy of the anthropogenic global warming believers. Sure, as the latest New York Times op-ed by Al Gore shows, there are some superficial similarities. Yes, the global warming crowd tells you to believe the “experts” and here I’m telling you to do the same. But “experts” do play an important role.
For example, very few of us are climate scientists who have personally researched the global warming issue. For that reason, our decision to either prostate ourselves before the pagan polar bear god of the climate change scammers, or to embrace heresy, has to depend on our assessment of the credibility of the experts. Of course, Al Gore is not one to let something like the total refutation of his most prominent assertions create a doubt in his mind:
But the scientific enterprise will never be completely free of mistakes. What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged. It is also worth noting that the panel’s scientists — acting in good faith on the best information then available to them — probably underestimated the range of sea-level rise in this century, the speed with which the Arctic ice cap is disappearing and the speed with which some of the large glacial flows in Antarctica and Greenland are melting and racing to the sea.
But in my case, well, as far as you being obligated to give me money, the consensus among legal experts is unchallenged. Ask any of my lawyer friends – they’ll tell you. It’s the law. And there are no grounds for amateurs to doubt either my interpretation of the applicable legal authority or the resulting policy prescription. I have a law degree. I passed the California Bar Exam. And Thomas Friedman agrees – plus he’s observed that in efficient China the leaders would have already ensured that I was paid.
I have not had any of the credibility problems that the climate change believers have experienced. You have not seen the release of emails discussing how I suppressed challenges to my legal research. I have not had to explain how I somehow lost that critical legal research. I have it right here – but you can’t see it because you non-lawyers wouldn’t understand it. Moreover, some deniers would probably just criticize it, and that kind of thing is counter-productive and would just get in the way of what must be done. And any attorney who denies this manifest truth is clearly on the take from the Big Corporations and/or the Special Interests, probably in association with the Tea Partiers and Sarah Palin.
That should end the inquiry. Now, I realize that some of you know that in the trial law business we routinely refer to “experts” as “whores” and assume that the other side will be able to pay some quack, charlatan or buffoon a few hundred an hour to get on the stand and spout whatever drivel is going to get his plaintiff paid. And you may know that we understand that the best way to test the truth of a so-called expert is to tear into his credentials, his assumptions, his methods and his data like Al Gore tears into a whole wheat muffin. If you can’t shake him, if he holds up, what he says might be true. And if he falls apart, he was probably full of it from the word, “Go.”
Now, the climate change scammers have started to fall apart. That’s why Al Gore’s little missive has such an undercurrent of fear, not least of all for his considerable personal stake in a climate catastrophe. He wants you to ignore the problems with the work of the” experts” he’s pushing and march forward off the cap-and-trade cliff. In contrast, my assertion of your legal obligation to send me some money is demonstrably more reasonable, verifiable and plausible than the climate change agenda our liberal overlords are hell-bent on enacting.
So hurry! This is no time for doubt or discussion. I’m not afraid of a full, open and honest debate. It’s just that the issue of giving me some money is so important, so critical to our very survival, that there is no time to test my hypothesis or to hear out the deniers. I take small bills, bank checks, loose change, anything.
Trust me. I’m an expert.

Climate hoaxers are a bit like the dinosaurs that had such primitive nervous systems that they would be dead before they "knew" it.
Hey Kurt, when you wrote "our decision to either PROSTATE ourselves," did you mean PROSTRATE? Really, I guess the sentence works either way, if you know what I mean . . .
I hope….NO….I WANT Al Gore to lose his shirt based on all the "faulty" data he and his cronies have been spouting for years.
Surely Al has big money locked up in all his mostly crazy schemes to save the planet…..show us all the money and capital that you have invested Al.
There are good people out there espousing good things for the planet but Al is just another huckster with get rich schemes and a desire to rule the planet.
You may be a lawyer and all, but you're not an actor who plays one on television. So you have no credibility. /sarc
Excellent satire!
Oh my gosh, a legal emergency you say? Do you take credit cards? There's no time to lose, can I just post it here on Big?
5123-78-……… wait a second…….
you thought I was going to forget to ask for my receipt, didn't you? Al Gore said I can send in my proof of purchase for a 32W dimbulb, and a 10% off coupon for a home composting kit.
Sadly, the GW zealots are so unhinged that the parody is in this article is barely noticeable. It's like South Park making fun of the "Smug pollution" in San Francisco. Those people are so obnoxious that the caricatures are barely exaggerated. It's impossible to be too mean about these con men.
Thanks for addressing the "Prostrate" issue. I almost spewed my fresh cup of joe.
Hey, what an amazing coincidence! More settled science..!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100304/sc_nm/us_dino...
I can hardly wait till the science is settled about fried vs flame broiled. Make it out of wagyo beef and the Big O might want to chime in on the subject.
Anyone know how much Al wants for inventing this internet thingy. Ironic how badly this internet thingy is biting him in the a=zz. lol. Got to love inventors huh?
"Morgan said the "final nail in the coffin for the dinosaurs" came when blasted material flew into the atmosphere, shrouding the planet in darkness, causing a global winter and "killing off many species that couldn't adapt to this hellish environment."
So, if I read this correctly, it was GLOBAL COOLING THAT KILLED THE DINOSAURS! Hey, I think maybe we should look further into the dangers of GLOBAL COOLING. Or is it settled science . . .?
Who would not believe Al Gore. Does he not have a Nobel Prize? So waht is he is the Chairman and Co-founder of Generation Investment Management LLP which has a 3% ownership interest in Climate Exchange PLC which owns the Chicago Climate Exchange, European Climate Exchange and Chicago Climate Futures Exchange and is also investing in China, Canada and Australia. Carbon trading makes Al Gore a rich man.
Indeed, I fully trust that Al Gore is pushing cap and trade as noble because he cares about AGW and stopping the generation of CO2.
You're welcome! You know, prostating yourself to a polar bear god sounds a bit painful . . .
Ira, you have made an amazingly good point that fits in this article to a tee. Looking at comments to the article, I found an excellent response by "Kathy," who began: "Here we go again. This is science at its worst."
Lo and behold, in the replies to Kathy, we find various replies along these lines:
You are dumb as ****. End of story.
Are you by any chance Sarah Palin's daughter?
kathy=dumb
Must be a Republican.Total and complete imbecile.
Kathy, do you have a signed copy of Sarah Palin's book? Did you teach biology at the University of Alabama?
And of course, my reply:
I think you make EXCELLENT points. Of course, the "scientists" have "decided" this, and now it's "settled science," which means you must be some kind of religious whacko or right wing tea partier. From now on, we shall refer to you as the Asteroid Denier. You Denier, you!
to quote Billy Ray Valentine in Trading Places: "It seems to me the best way to hurt rich people is by making them poor."
Maybe Mr. Gore leverage his investment in Global warming. He could lose all his money and go broke.
on a related note- last nite the LOML & I watched Disney's "Earth".
the photography? INCREDIBLY SPECTACULAR!
the pandering to the AGW crowd? UTTERLY SHAMELESS! ok, it actually wasn't as pervasive as i'd feared, but in the 'movie' they repeatedly show this polar bear 'struggling-to-survive-in-the-open-ocean/must-swim-back-to-land-due-to-loss-of-the-sea-ice-due-to-global-warming…" BUT, BUT, BUT…in the special features it shows them finding him ON DRY LAND and "oh boy, he's going for a swim! isn't he a fantastic swimmer?" and then once he's out a ways they pull back the shot as far as they can from the helicopter without showing the shoreline- so it looks like he's way the hell out in the ocean! what a bunch of LYING C***S***ERS!!!! of course, it goes without saying they didn't mention the increasing bear populations…
and it looks like the global warming mob isn't about to give up that easily:
http://www.upi.com/Science_News/2010/03/05/Warmin...
Opening: "Evidence of manmade global warming is stronger than the besieged U.N. climate panel claimed, with rainfall changes altering the Earth, British scientists said.
"The fingerprint of human influence has been detected in many different aspects of observed climate changes," Peter Stott, head of climate monitoring at the Hadley Center for Climate Research run by Britain's meteorological office, said in remarks quoted by the Financial Times. "Natural variability, from the sun, volcanic eruptions or natural cycles, cannot explain recent warming."
Of course, eliminating temp stations in cooler areas can explain the warming… if there is any…
"…in association with Tea Partiers and Sarah Palin. "
Yup, I want that prominent on my resume !
Ultra_C — As Pilate said, I wrote what I wrote.
and please have a look at this screed:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/csm/20100302/cm_csm/28427...
Opening lines: "Skepticism about climate change is going mainstream, and that is worrying. One-third of Americans now say global warming doesn’t exist – triple the percentage of three years ago.
This defiance of science isn’t just harmful for the environment. It’s also distracting us from growing threats to US national security. Actual – not theoretical – effects of climate change are turning the Arctic into a potential military flash point."
Notice how neatly in the 1st two lines he switches from "climate change" to "global warming" and also how he tries to bring up yet another reason to panic: how can anyone ignore "climate change" when it could be a threat to national security"..? jack-a-napes all.
In spite of what Nobel Peace Prize fraud, Al Gore, states, anyone who does not have direct knowledge and evidence of Global Warming, should now realize there has been a rush-to-judgment!
Any politician who contuinues to push the Global Warming agenda is clearly corrupt and is most likely in the pocket of those who have financial interests. In short, follow the money!
Now that some of the data has clearly been altered to promote a scam, any scientist (or so-called scientist) who continues to insist the debate is over is also corrupt and is in the pocket of, corrupt politicians, those who have financial interests or is looking to belly up to the trough of taxpayer funding. Again, follow the money!
As for the rest of progressive loons who continue to bray "Global Warming" to the world and shout insults at anyone who does not instantly adopt their lunacy, they are simply showing their ignorance and shame at having been so easily duped.

Ultra C, global cooling didn't kill the dinos. Recently a cave drawing was discovered with a picto of a caveman very similar in appearance to Al Gore. This caveman….Algoree Oop…picto'd that excessive dinosaur flatulence not a meteor or globalwarming/cooling did the dinos. Nobody listened then either.
I wonder if its really good for the bear either.
You know the guy who invented pilates?
I agree. No one seems to be talking about it, but while this war is going on over trillions in new taxes to save the planet, all the air has been sucked out of the room for discussing what the real pollution issues are and how best to deal with them.
In the end, all this care for the planet, is actually hurting it.
What if I play a lawyer in my head? Does that count?
They can swim 50 to 60 miles. That "miles" with an "ALGOREISANIDIOT."
Thanks for the review of Earth. I've been wondering if I should let my kids watch it (ages 7, 6, 3 and 1). Thoughts?
While its obvious that Al Gore did not invent the internet, he did have a major roll in making it happen. And unlike the con man Gore, the truth is the truth, and I'd rather have a sad truth than a dishonest dream world.
The internet was originally designed by DARPA – the Defense Advanced Research Project Administration, as a military defense project. The thinking went that with computer becoming more and more important, the few main frames scattered around the country were becoming targets for nuke strikes. So the idea was to make the information on the portable so they could be stored on computers anywhere. No more single point of failure.
What Al Gore did do was help pass legislation that moved the internet from DARPA to ARPA, its civilian counterpart. That's when it moved from strictly military use to academic and business use.
As I said, the truth is the truth, and Gore does deserve some credit for the part he played.
Who would not believe Al Gore
Possibly some one who thinks "what" is spelled waht</>?
Guys like Al Gore, who lie for a living, & take our money only because he doesn't care who he destroys, as long as he has the money, are not fooling themselves.
The human spirit does impose sentence on itself. Sure, we know he's lying. But so does he, & by infinite law, his soul is damned.
The only real question is, how many lemmings can he get to jump in the fire behind him.
Those people aren't going anywhere. There is way too much money being made to stop now.
It took the Holocaust before the eugenics movement hoax started to die off.
when it could be a threat to national security
The left always trots that out in order to intimidate the left. "What's the matter, aren't conservatives supposed to be big on national security?"
Hey he did invent the internet.
I also read the article http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100304/sc_nm/us_dino... and considering that ALL these scientists came together and decided the earth was flat doesn't impress me in the least.
In the article they state that a 9 mile wide asteroid hit the earth with a force a billion times more powerful than the atomic bomb at Hiroshima creating earthquakes over 10 on the richter scale, tsunalmis, etc etc. and wiped out most life forms including the dinosaurs.
So if the Chilean earthquake was 8.3 and made the earth shift on it's axis, what would earthquakes over 10 do? Send the planet out of orbit? I have no faith in these theories anymore because they make no sense and these scientists are speculating for the sake of speculating……just like global/climate change hysteria.
Anyone connected with the UN and the EU and the progressive lie like rabid dogs for the sake of publicity.
The truth is Al already has the money folks… the idea now is to spread the outrage over time and try to keep his followers hopefull! So in the longrun… he gets to keepthe money!
Power to the states… Stop Federal oppression!!!
Ah, the self-confidence of deluded, global warming deniers. No need to listen to the experts. No need to educate ourselves. Education is soo overrated! I don't need to read "Science" or "Nature." I have eyes! And my eyes tell me that everything is fine. The poles are not melting. The climate is not changing. Humans are not pouring massive amounts of warming gases into the atmosphere. It is all a hoax.
Regardless of whether or not there is anthropogenic global warming, you've got to give Al Gore credit where credit is due. Of course, I wouldn't question the motives of someone who has contended for nomination for and run for the Presidency of the United States, folks such as Al Gore and John Edwards, but … the proposed "solution" in "cap and trade" certainly would not solve or even address the problem.
Al is a sophisticate, who is second to no one. certainly he stands head and shoulders above Ponzi, Lay, and Madoff, we need to defer to the new master of "the long con." And unlike the others, Al Gore makes his money without incurring any liability. Of course, the EU has given its major polluters huge amounts of credits. I wonder if Al (the Magician) Gore has somehow managed to wangle a profit from that aspect of the business.
Unlike you others, I anticipate that Al Gore will demonstrate his purity and integrity by transferring his "well-deserved" gains to public charities and present himself in sackcloth and ashes to demonstrate his personal commitment and willingness to make personal sacrifice to salvage mankind from the consequences of "climate change."
At a minimum, how about a little hot tar and feathers action for some of these elitist globalist hoaxers who have lied to everyone (purposefully), stole OUR money to enrich themselves and their cronies? They set up and rigged a feudalistic system designed to enslave us and our children, continued in their propaganda efforts of which would make even Dr. Goebbels blush! Prison is way too good for these oligarchic, slimeball douchebaggs !
Glenn Beck had very disturbing show today about progressive indoctrination in our schools today..
Here is tape of algore telling our children not to listen to their parents..

Oh ye of little faith … May God forgive you for sullying the escutcheon of a man as great as Al Gore, a man who has devoted his life to selfless public service, to helping the little man, as did his father.
No good deed goes unpunished as "the harpies of the shore" question the integrity of those among us, who walk on water. If you were not restrained by your apparent prejudices against this man, you would perceive the aura that forms a halo around his head.
Why Al Gore is so empathetic and sympathetic to the needs of others that his record of contributions to charities commends itself to our view. How many hundreds of dollars has this man contributed to eleemosynary causes over his lifetime. Could a man who voluntarily contributed literally hundreds of dollars to those in need be responsive to any concern except for his inner urgings to help others? Certainly not.
Enough of the base canards and infamous calumnies besmirching this great man's reputation. The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune beset him, but undeterred, Al Gore heads into the fray without concern for his own well-being so as to help you and others, all ingrates, who would not believe the evidence of filmed records, but instead accept rumors regarding context.
Just one more time shall I sally forth in defense of the great Mr. Gore. You do know that his morality and ethics were enhanced by the teachings to which he was exposed at the divinity school that he attended. Just genuflect when you abase yourself while presenting your personal apology to him. No need to prostrate yourself, genuflection is sufficient if you are genuinely repentant for this attack.
Er, if you're looking for peer reviewed articles on "climate change," you're searching publications that don't particularly focus on it in looking to Science and the various Nature publications. And the shoddiness of the data collection and preservation of sources compromises the conclusions of the foremost progenitors of "climate change" as an anthropogenic phenomenon. The suppression of "peer review" would trouble you if you were yourself "a scientist," which I suspect you are not.
As you are undoubtedly aware, climate change is an ongoing process with the Earth being subject to a succession of glacial periods and melting with subsets of the major events also occurring. We are now supposedly in a post-glacial period, so of course, the Earth has been warming for some 12,000 years at least, when huge ice sheets, some to the depth of two miles, covered much of North America, and also Northern Europe and Asia. Are you suggesting that this "warming" has not been conducive to population growth with the concomitant expansion of man's exploitable domain? After all, the rich soils of Russia and the United States were "brought" by the ice sheets. If a "value judgment" were made, wouldn't warming within still existing parameters, have been "a good thing?" Is it the continuation of the trend that seems to trouble you. Are man's activities a cause or a catalyst? Would post glacial period warming have been a reasonably extrapolated trend even without introduction of human activity? By the way, some "pollution" reduces warming but is offset by other activity so there seems to be a net gain in warming. You might want to check the recent index for "New Scientist" in regard to some such reports.
You do realize that as our galaxy orbits through the universe, and our solar system through our galaxy, we encounter differing environments, that fluctuations in solar radiation, the angle of inclination of the Earth to the Sun, and the wobble on our axis, and vulcanism and the repositioning of terrain features, and the ocean streams, and many other factors, influence "climate."
Since the anthropogenic effect is a function of human population and the level of industrialization (which permits larger populations to be supported), the viable long-term solution is reduction in human population by possibly some 95%. Are you ready for the solution to work itself out? It will be "self-assembling" if there is no effective human intervention. Cap and trade is an inanity presented as "a solution," which it is not. Eat, drink, and be merry. Personal hedonism is the answer. In the face of seminal forces, adapt. Your smug dismissal of "skepticism" engendered by the lack of integrity of protagonists of "climate change" is understandable as it is a manifestation of cognitive dissonance, which is difficult for any of us to manage. We're all human.
Anyway, we'll live until we die, which for most of us will be long before "the catastrophe" occurs.
I still wanna throw Al into a volcano.
Those were caricatures on South Park?
That's what you get when you base your scientific theory on a 1973 Charlton Heston movie, (Soylent Green). Yes, in that movie the planet was heating up and crops wouldn't grow, so they had to make food from some other source which led to Mr. Heston's all-time classic line, "Soylent green is people". Maybe they should give Al's Oscar to Chuck. He did beat him by 3 decades. And as far as "Cap and Trade" goes, no one ever brings up the fact that it was pioneered by our friends at ENRON.
I will send you some spare change as soon as I make some money off my carbon exchange investment. Every time AG opens his mouth, I want to thank somebody named Chad who hangs around in South Florida.
you're right- i shall immediately flagellate myself in penance for my transgressions. in these moments of much-deserved self-abuse, i find appropriate inspiration in the writings of Paul, in his letter to Penthouse…
If he had I would have to thank him, and you for using it . But you're such a tease!
If you really want to get a lot of money start a "Save a lawyer" campaign, complete with big sad eyed starving lawyer posters. Manipulate people by telling them people – even children – will most likely go to prison, innocent or not, because the lawyers of the world are in peril.
Then back up your "Save a lawyer" campaign with an Irwin Allen-esque documentary (it won't take long since you can forget researching facts… they aren't needed). Use animation to depict you and other lawyers clinging to skyscraper ledges, ready to jump, due to lack of funds. Since you need to propagandize small children with fear, you'll need to show your animated lawyers falling to their deaths. Really pull the kids' "heartstrings" (I learned that word on Oprah) by having the animated lawyers crying out for their mommies, clinging to teddy bears, on the way down. Remind kids to go home and guilt their parents into saving the lawyers. Tell them that if their parents don't send money to the lawyers, the demise of the legal world is on their mommies and daddies shoulders.
Next, tell the media that if they push fear about a horrific lawyer-less society they'll not only get a cut of your legal fees but will look really hip and trendily politically correct at all their swanky parties. Make sure to pay textbook companies to promote the lawyer-less society fear. Write op-eds about the idiots who are denying that you, as a lawyer, and your lawyer friends are going extinct due to lack of funds – this will encourage a groupthink mentality where "cool" people will shun those who question lawyer extinction.
Then, sit back and watch the money roll in.
I cannot understand how such a large segment of the human race can be so gullible. Do people who buy into this crap have a special pair of "stupid goggles" they put on every morning? How blind is it possible to be?
AWG! We're all doomed! Save us Al Gore! Must stop ManBearPig!!!
In my personal view » Al Gore Is Right: Listen To Us Experts — and Show Us the Money! – Big Journalism definitely is a perfectly crafted message. Most definately deserving of bringing up in addition to deserving of bringing up http://bigjournalism.com/kschlichter/2010/03/05/al-gore-is-right-listen-to-us-experts/ as a result. Sincerely, Marlin Waltermire
Yesterday Hawaii Tsunami scientists prediction blown, today Western Europe winter storms exposed. In Madeira, the government of Portugal has declared the state of calamity. In France and Belgium there have been disasters. In the northern coast of Spain a cruise bumped into a 8 meter waves. France President, Nicolas Sarkozy, declared national disaster. Natural disasters are increasing in the whole planet more than ever.
Please watch my video. It's about Earth Changes, caused by continental drift. Continental Drift – One huge supercontinent, became 2 continents, then 5 (or 6) continents, and then? Continental drift is an Earth's nature cycles, extreme greenhouse gas emission makes climate change move faster.

Haaaalp! We're being bulled by a Gore!! –or is that gulled by a Bore?
Where does your lack of respect for science come from?
So far, the only group of people in the world to display such grotesque arrogance and lack of respect for scientific organizations are the Young-Earth Creationists. YEC's believe the earth is only 6000 years old when in fact about 40 different lines of scientific evidence all corroborate each other and prove that it's closer to 4.5 billion years old. As far as the science goes, these people are off by a factor of 750,000 to 1. It's like asking someone how far they think the moon is from the earth and they tell you it's 3 miles away, and then insist that the science backs them up.
The bottom line is this:
Suppose an asteroid were heading for earth. Would you question the recommendations of NASA scientists as to the best way to deflect an asteroid?
Suppose you lived in Hawaii right next to a volcano and suddenly every major scientific organization in the world came out with joint statements that the probability of an eruption was very high. Would you question their opinion?
Suppose your child was sick and you took him to see 100 doctors, and 97 of them said it was serious and needed immediate attention, whereas, 3 said go home, relax, don't worry about it. What would you do?
Think of the entirety of scientists and scientific organizations that have to be either stupid or corrupt for you to be correct:
http://www.logicalscience.com/consensus/consensus...
I think the probability of you being stupid or corrupt is infinitely higher.
Decent web page. Good on the net affiliate plan. Thank you.
