Many people over the last few weeks have noticed the fawning media coverage on behalf of the Coffee Party movement. Moreover, no skepticism or research was done to investigate the claims made by the newest Coffee Party leaders. Simple Google searches, however, have revealed that they are simply former Obama campaigners upset that the Tea Party has been able to thwart their Leftist agenda.

As a result, I decided to join the Coffee Party’s gathering on March 13th, in Washington, D.C., to learn what it was really all about.
The meeting started by people introducing themselves and saying why there want to be part of the Coffee Party. Many were upset about the the Tea Party movement. Others had absolutely incoherent reasons for being there.
One thing that I noticed was that many attempted to appear nonpartisan and open to discussion. However, their personal tweets have demonstrated that, that is not their agenda. In fact, when I sat down to talk to some of the people off camera during the group therapy sessions (see video below of the sessions), I heard the phrase “Teabagger” thrown around quite a bit.
The video below captures most of the event. There were about 100 people attending. Thankfully, after being there I could see that this is most certainly not going to grow into the Tea Party movement, unless of course the media keeps propping it up as something that it is not.
Video follows after the jump:

Coffee Party = Dweeb Party!
Manufactured passion is simply that, it gives of phony aroma. Like bull feces.
Like it or not, the radicals of the 60's,currently running things, had passion. The hippie movement, the wackjobs burning draft cards and their bra's. Marching on Washington, protesting the Vietnam War, the Summer of Discontent. It was all real, genuine. Try as they might, they will never re-create those times.
We will though, from a conservative standpoint. There is passion now.
I can't believe how "fired up" these people are! Does it take BHO in the same room saying it to get them in that state? Boring and a little bit sad, that's how I would describe it. Kind of like an Air America broadcast. "Support the President" getting more votes than "Economy"? Please! And, I know it's not just me so spare me the rightious indignation, was this meeting being run by an Acorn employee?
Cowboy Logic hit the target, center mass. The TPM is grown from ACTUAL discontent, REAL concerns from REAL citizens. This weak-ass attempt at trying to marginalize the Tea Party Movement (and that's all it is folks, no real substance) will go nowhere.
The left have nothing to complain about with the current administration, unless they admit they were wrong, and they'll never do that.
They're the "intellectuals" (in their warped sense of reality) and because of that, any mistake that they make they'll chalk it up to "good intentions"
Back in the first few days of the "coffee party" i went to visit its Facebook page, just to check it out and see what the real scoop was. This was before the stories started coming out about its Obama roots, even Fox News had an article talking about it being a "spontaeous" movement by someone clueless about how to run it. lol.
But when i looked at the picture section it had photos of Obama and comments about how good he was, or how they wish he would come to one of the coffee party meetings. So i figured out what the true stance of this "movement" was. Democrats great, Conservatives stink. Now that all the info has come out about the background of the "suprised" founder, i am not the least bit suprised that the MSM is pushing them. Just waiting for them to show up on Maddow or Oberduche to finish off any crediability they have left
To bad they traded that passion for freedom and fighting the "man" away for political gain and the same old political power grabs as the politicans they used to protest against.
Even with the potential for massive support from the fawning leftist media – this "Coffee Party+ stuff is a bad joke.
"Let's rally for highrer taxes!" "Let's gather and demand mediocre Euro-Nanny State style healthcare!, yea!"
"More government is better government!"
Just doesn't have a same populist ring to it does it?
Why are you calling the Climate Summit protests "left" when the left LOVE Climate Change politics?
Looks more like an ACORN training session. Is that Bertha's sister running the white board 'brainless storming' session.
In all fairness though they have real concerns and are flailing about trying to find a common ground, to boil their mission into a mantra that will stir the masses: Their message,,,,,,si se puede!!!
For all those non-hispanic americans that means Yes, We can, to which we the people say, NO YOU WON'T
My favorite part was Mr. "I just want to keep it generic". You know, let's not discuss any issue on it's merits…let's just make a sign and shout down anyone who disagrees with us. Discussion just may show that they don't have a leg to stand on so they sure as heck don't want to go down that road….LMAO
That was more like a real life stroll through the forums at Democratic Underground. You must have a strong stomach, Lee.
"Income security for all"? No socialism here, move along, nothing to see.
"Empathy, collective consciousness, and progress"? I'd comment, but I have no idea what this even means.
"How many people are here to support Obama's original view, or the platform that he ran on?" "That question, we're not going to have it right now" Good to see that they want an open and honest discussion. Think they were afraid to let that answer get on camera?
Now that they are in power we are able to see how little in common they have with the rest of the country.
Before all this sh!t hit the fan, the majority in this country was content to grumble at the 'news' and the stupidity coming out of DC,,,NOT NO MORE
Once we get off our 'lazy boys' and fire up the truck, there is gonna be hell to pay.
Quite the hypocrites,eh?
" Coffee Party’s gathering on March 13th, in Washington, D.C. . . . There were about 100 people attending. "
WOW !
Kind of like the Tea Party March on D.C. , only with a few less zeros.
well i guess its easier to fight the power when you are on the outside looking in, but when you make it to the inside, you just fight to keep the power and grow it.
power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutly
You know that this is going to be good. Coffee Parties are the Liberal's answer to the Tea Parties the way that Air America was the Liberal answer to Conservative talk radio. The biggest problem is that they have nothing positive to offer. They fight to tear down the democracy – not save it, and when they ultimately offer their list of things that need to happen to in order to "restore democracy", it will be more of the same tax and spend, punish the producers to bribe the non- producers, etc. etc. etc, which quite frankly is what's causing people to turn away in the first place. I say bring it on.
About as real as a Sanka with Splenda.
Boy did they mess up with this move. Nothing will get a good ol boy more fired up and out of lazy boy watching the nascar race than to mess with fishing or hunting. And the good ol boys are what makes this country run.
Let's call them "Coffee Clubbers".
That makes them sweet, instant coffee clubbers.
How pathetic, their "group therapy session" had the feel of a 4th grade classroom (with less enthusiasm).
I sure didn't need a focus group to a sign. This group shows how Obama got elected. Vast numbers of dullards who
need a leader to act as their teleprompter and instruct them on what to do and when to cheer.
Yeah, and the sad part is, they were, for the most part, useful idiots back in the day, when they were out in the streets protesting.
That movment told loads o' lies to its followers.
Watching this reminded me of the many inane "brainstorming" sessions I've had to attend for work. The pretense is that they want to gather random ideas to try new things. The reality is that the people calling the session have already made a decision, but they want a staged meeting to make it look like they are responding to external demand. The kicker is how they wind up making signs supporting things they all "agree" on. Been there, done that.
Potemkin is exactly right. My hat is off to you, Lee, for walking into that lion(cub)s' den.

I can just see tomorrows headlines.
Koffee Klatch schedules Snipe Hunt, forego's Easter Egg Roll at White House in protest of Easter Bunny abuse.
Your analogy is fantastic. Only in the eyes of the MSM can the two be compared as though they were equivalent.
It's a fad, nothing more. They aren't there because they are worried about their Children's future. It's simply get-evenness that draws them in. They are jealous of the success of the Tea Party which is and the tie that binds them together is a feeling that they are intellectually superior to those with fiscal common sense and traditional values.
Really, its kind of sad and depressing to look at the annoyed and indifferent expressions on their faces. They yearn for a passionate rebellion but have no inspirational figure from which to draw their energy. "The ONE" has let them down and now their espresso is half empty.
Yep. Try to tell Hawaiian Somoan guy that he can't fish or hunt.
This is only one way to explain all of it. These people are sick. They are Mad Men.
A demitasse, not a big fresh brewed cup of java, these. And a very week brew it is. "Nothing to see folks, Nothing to see, Move on."
"Income security for all", ugh, you have a very strong stomach Lee.
Yes, six less zeroes and then some. if the New york times lies about this they will say millions march on Washington as Coffee party goes caffeine.
Another good expose of some of the Coffee Party Movement members is found on the website "Left Coast Rebel".
I could barely make it through the video! I couldn't stop laughing. This is not news. My son's seventh grade social studies class has more pointed discussions than this group.
This coffee party is nothing but a joke. Sounds to me they are a bunch of liberals that want to destroy this Country.
"Koffee Klatch Klansmen" slogans –
"Preserve the Democrat Plantation"
"Expand employment of moronic drone federal government workers"
"Unionize Idiot Federal Workers – Secure Jobs for Morons"
"I'm Obama and Andy Stren's Love Child!"
Same old crap–bunch of lazy, self-absorbed, perpetual children wanting to use the force of the grubmint to give them your "stuff." "I'm too special to work, I'm an *." Turn them into Soylent Green, I have oil stains on my garage floor.
Get out of the way Granny. I want my health care now!
Dude, it's the Doobie party.
"I wear a D.H.S. uni and have a stun gun – pay me THREE TIMES what I'm really worth in the open market!"
What a joke, their meeting looked like a cross between a kindergarten class and an AA meeting. Their whole party is as genuine as genetically altered crops, "ok every body, let's welcome the Kaffeine Krazies Klub and give them a round of applause".
You ain't wrong and you sure as HELL ain't lyin'!

They needed to have a groupthink session before they could make some posters? How lame!!! Nobody had to tell me what to put on my poster when I went to the Tax Day Rally in DC last year.
It might be fun to go to some of these "coffee party" meetings and get them worked up about renaming the country to "Obamerica" or something equally stupid which they of course would fall for.
I signed up already, my name is "Billy Ayres"
Coffee Party USA's National Commercial is up! Watch it here!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFds2kYeAGQ
LOVE YOUR SICKLE & HAMMER LOGO !
Progressive Coffee – it's — it's — it's Decaf!
I often sign up for liberal email lists as Karla Marks, Jemima Write, etc..
It was said before, but it's worth saying again:
The Chock Full Of Nuts Party
The so-called "Coffee Party" believes that Big Government is the answer to everything.
The Coffee Party wants more and more Government.
Funny.
I'd be willing to bet you could convince them that they call Detroit "Mo Town" in honor of Mo-shelle……….
Watered down coffee meeting
So basically this is a DNC-ACORN-Taxpayer funded political group therapy session. It really looks like an institutional way of making people feel they are a part of something. I wonder when it will become its own entitlement program?
Actually not a bad idea. Let's attend Coffee Parties carrying signs saying just what you mentioned above! They'll not know what to make of us, or who we really are…saboteurs. I'd do it with a homemade sign saying "Yes! to higher taxes and more government!"
Including the big 0 himself.
I rather think of them as Coffee Enemas.
Coffee Enemas has a better ring, don't you think?
Hahahah what losers! They can't even agree on what the coffee party stands for. National Transportation Strategy? What the heck is that? I call it a fleet of semis owned by private companies. I hope they all feel better now that they have these *burning* issues off their chests.
..and on the name suggestion front, I say we call them "Old Grounds".
Neither did I. Also, I'm still waiting for my check from the "Health Insurance Industry" for attending.
I have never seen anything like this, so i found the video kind of interesting. Until the very end. What stirs me? Principle, morality, virtue, being truthful and upholding the finest and best. Then you get me to come out swinging with zeal and passion and absolutely unreserved determination. These bozos just had a list of "policy statements' or "gimmees" they wanted to advocate. Blah. What a bunch of cluless twits. "National transporation policy"???? Who the …. cares about having one of those? Besides those who want power to impose something, NOBODY! Getting our nation's finances under control and it's government back within its boundaries? Getting government to ser ve, instead of rule? Those are things are of enough substance they can and did arouse a people to armed rebellion. People, WE HAVE THEM. VICTORY IS OURS, IF WE JUST GO AND CLAIM IT! Get organzied and go FIGHT FOR IT.
"Code Brown" is full of sh….
Oh the passion! The whiteboard! The voting! Nothing gets the blood to boiling like a National Transportation Strategy! If they find a way to harness the raw emotion and kinetic energy demonstrated by these Coffee Partiers, we'd all better watch out.
And if they ever actually get to the point where they remove the caps off their Sharpies because they've finally reached a unanimous agreement on the first word of a non-offensive, race-neutral, politically correct, pro-government, all-gender/species-inclusive slogan for their first poster and there are still any members that haven't left, fallen into a coma or gone stiff, well, I'm just glad I have a bunker, that's all I'm sayin'.
Yep, not much of a rallying cry there.
And "Coffee Party" has such a silly ring to it.
Why not call it what it really is? MASTURBATiON PARTY
For the moment they are the “man” and we’re gonna stick it to’em in a few short months!
We all need to force ourselves to go to some of these parties and tape them. The same way BB plans on students taping professors at college campus. Make a LOGICAL suggestion at one of the meetings and watch them lose it.
Now that name fits…."Code Brown"
Someone suggested "Code Brown". I like it…because they are full of s__t!
Kinda sucks next to the 4000 who attended the "kill the bill" rally in St Paul.
Oh wait we were actually there for a purpose, not to prop up a declining dictater (I spelled it wrong on purpose)
The Drips!
The party of "DRIPS"!
The "DRIPS"!
Nope, wrong Cowboy, Mo-Town is from Mo-Money from "Obama's stash"
more like
coffee party = communist party
Oooh, or the DREGS!
All of the attendees of Coffe Party rallies are "zeros."
The Coffee Grounds, or more appropriately, the Dregs of Society.
Interesting parallel–Coffee Party USA "CPUSA" ie. Communist Party –etc etc. unintended coincidence, but there is nothing grass roots in arriving at a group consensus to produce signs (end of video), a eerily communist way of doing things.
I saw Jodi Evans code pink terroristas on video at one of the staged events. they're not only staged, they're acting like they're centrists again.
These people are sickos. There is not anything they won't do.
I think the draft had something to do with making things real back then. I think the debt and over reaching incompetent government makes it real now. Drugs and youth was a bad combo back then. Age and sobriety make the modern anti-government movement more sustainable. The government now (Obama) is worse than the government of the 60's and the country's finances are much weaker than then.
Now I know the Dumb ass voters who voted for Barack Hussien Obama .
GOD please help the U. S. A. !
Saying "liberals" and "that want to destroy this Country " is redundant.
One phrase implies the other.
Let's get the sign, stand next to it, pump our fists in the air and shout:
What do we wan? National Transportation Policy! When do we want it? NOW!
What do we wan? National Transportation Policy! When do we want it? NOW!
What do we wan? National Transportation Policy! When do we want it? NOW!
What do we wan? National Transportation Policy! When do we want it? NOW!
Epic failure
They want "Universal
— and end up looking like a bunch of drips.
You're right, it is more like an AA meeting: "Hi, My name is ( fill in the blank———-) and I am addicted to Obama."
or the "caf-fiend addicts."

And the INVASION continues… http://www.BorderInvasionPics.com
i KNOW! and more people voted for signs to support Obama than for the economy! LOL! What a joke! And how cranky was that leader? She didn't appreciate anyone picking on Bambi.
Anybody else seem to think that what these people really need is a "coffee enema"?
sounds more like a coffee stain to me!
it's called a 'crappuccino' (from a 2 1/2 Men episode)
That bit stuck out for me, too. Having to ponder what they felt *comfortable* putting on a sign? If memory serves, the political left is not always so timid, so lost for words . . .
