Tom Tancredo’s muy caliente remarks at the recent National Tea Party Convention, in Nashville, outed MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow as a race-baiting demagogue.
Here’s what the former Colorado congressman said: “Mostly because, I think, that we do not have a civics literacy test before people can vote in this country, people, people who could not even spell the word ‘vote,’ or say it in English, put a committed, socialist ideologue in the White House, name is Barack Hussein Obama.”

Here’s what Maddow said (after denigrating Tancredo as a “failed presidential candidate” and a “professional anti-immigrant”):
Just for reference here, when Tom Tancredo talks about literacy tests, that`s what they used in the south to keep black people from voting before civil rights legislation and court rulings put a stop to that. So the national tea party convention opened with a clarion call to bring back the literacy tests for voting. And as you could hear, the tea party convention crowd erupted in cheers at the suggestion, although, to be fair, it was sort of hard to tell exactly what the sounds coming from the crowd meant. They were sort of a little bit muffled by, you know, the white hoods.
Please, lady.
Talk about playing to the lowest common denominator. That’s the kind of comment that makes comedian Jon Stewart seem like a Rhodes scholar. Talk about… Oh, wait: . Maddow is a Rhodes scholar, and has a doctorate in political science from Oxford University, but she sure doesn’t listen very well.
Tancredo didn’t say “literacy,” and he wasn’t talking about race. He said “civics literacy,” which implies a basic understanding of U.S. government and history. Thanks to multiculturalism and unsecured borders, there are far too many people in this country who don’t speak a word of English and will never bother to do so. Here is one reason why state campaigns to make English the official language of government business are so successful.
Let’s get another thing straight. Tancredo is no “professional anti-immigrant.” For starters, he’s the grandson of Italian immigrants. Buono! When he served in the House of Representatives, he was the founder of the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus. As a congressman, he was an outspoken opponent of illegal immigration, as he should have been, given that he pledged to uphold our Constitution and given that the rules of our country frown (at least on paper) on illegal entry.
To many, many Americans, Tom Tancredo is a patriot. Back in the day before it was cool to talk about illegal aliens, he used his congressional bully pulpit, to debate everything from anchor babies to sanctuary cities. Tancredo stood by the families of law enforcement officials who had lost their lives in the line of duty, when they had been murdered by illegal-alien drug dealers; he exposed document fraud, a key reason that the 9-11 terrorists were able to remain illegally in the United States; he noted how our national parks have been trashed – literally – by illegal aliens crossing our southern border and leaving behind piles and piles of garbage; he complained about transnational gang members (who often work as day laborers, as the Center for Immigration Studies has reported), illegals driving on our highways, illegals maxing out social services, and illegals taking jobs from other minorities. In short, he stood up for working Americans and legal residents, of all faiths, colors, and ethnicities, who have been negatively impacted by illegal immigration and the federal government’s manifest unwillingness to do much about it.

Sob stories from the media aside, illegals, even when they come here to find a better life, are thieves, as you would be if you robbed a store or your neighbor to feed or clothe your children or yourself. Those in the media who clamor to give them amnesty are, in essence, promoting anarchy and social unrest advocating for an Americanized version of a banana republic.
Meanwhile, the California-born Maddow has lived a portion of her adulthood in a rural community in western Massachusetts – very white and very liberal West Cummington. One wonders how much diversity there really is in her life. One wonders if she would ever describe Hillary Clinton as a “failed presidential candidate.”
But one issue is clear: Maddow and the rest of Tancredo’s smug critics in the mainstream media won’t ever use their bully pulpits to have an honest debate about immigration. They are too busy hiding behind the PC “comprehensive immigration reform” mantra and smearing opponents of amnesty as “anti-immgrant” or, worse, “racists.” ‘Tis a pity because the American way of life stands to be radically changed, for the worse for generations to come, if these interlopers aren’t contained or deported.

Who's Rachel Maddow?
She was on Air America… oh wait… you haven't heard of that either, which was their/her main problem! LOL
Maddow no entiende nada.
We're spelling her name wrong; it's 'Racial Mudthrow'.
Maddow's comment is typical of the left's response when they have no cogent argument in thier favor….accuse the other side of racism. Its a cheap and easy way to score points. I am sure that all 22 of her audience members watching at home applauded.
That's the guy on MSNBC with their own show I think>
Yeah yeah yeah. And Tim Geithner said the kind of thing you want to hear a Treasury Secretary say: the US will absolutely never lose its Aaa debt rating? Riiiiighht!
It's really come down to this. If you can not hear the world succumbing to reality then get a freaking hearing aid. And get into cash. Let's just use the tsunami analogy. The earthquake has hit. Guess what's next.
You won't hear it at CNBC or MSNBC. The stocks that got smoked today are saying unemployment is accelerating. The reason people want to come to the USA is to work. Immigration in the coming months will fall off the radar. This is no work. This is no credit. There is no solution. Well one. Horrific deflation.
Traders gird your loins. Unbelievable volatility with send the MSNBC/CNBC blowhards scrambling for answers that have been in front of their faces. Hopefully the financial tsunami will take them out to sea for good.
Poor nurse Ratchet Madcow. She looks like nurse Ratchett, suffers from Madcow diesease and has to follow Kieth the Uberdork. Talk about 3 strikes and your out.
Nice piece Ms. Lyman I happened to watch that particular Maddow segment, as usual it was just an attempt by the vast left wing conspiracy to frame the tea Party movement in a negative light.
She's the one that looks like Peyton Manning and talks her liberal Bull out of the side face!
Rachel Maddow pulled out the white hoods argument? The more they do this the more stupid they look. It used to work a little, not anymore.
So I guess that means she has demanded D-Sen Robert Byrd, West Virgina to resign. i mean, he is the only guy in congress that ever actually wore a white hood…..you know, actions>words. You know, actually doing something as opposed to, someone else sharing an imagination they had about someone else being a racist.
Wait, I've never heard Maddow condem Byrd….you know, the guy that led the longest filibuster in US history on Civil Rights.
Her degree background appears to be more closer to Juris Doctor where misdirection and altering perceptions is standard course work. Did ya see what Steven King said a few weeks back in entertainment magazine: He likes Maddow because she is the only one that talks truthfully about both sides of an issue.
Patience my friends. MSNBC is heading down the same road as Air America, just a matter of time.
Rachel on the food network ?
"Meanwhile, the California-born Maddow has lived a portion of her adulthood in a rural community in western Massachusetts – very white and very liberal West Cummington. One wonders how much diversity there really is in her life."
The funny thing about this guy Maddow is that aside from having lived in a rural White Massachusetts community, she also grew up in a Lily-White suburb of Castro Valley, CA, which I am very familiar with since it's about an 8 minute drive from the place I grew up in (Oakland, CA). So the only place she's even seen any racial diversity is when she might've been "slummin' it" at an Oakland A's game.
"Maddow is a Rhodes scholar, and has a doctorate in political science from Oxford University, but she sure doesn’t listen very well." If this is true-who cares? Considering she was probably an excellent progressive/student, intelligence most likely played a cameo role-just enough to add background.
I'm not taking issue with this article, in fact, thank you very much. I hope others read and listen to what you wrote. My point is that it's getting to be about time that we all start judging a person for what they are doing and not where they came from.
I can't help but wonder why so may talking heads try to be clever and always end up just looking like really crappy journalists. But then again, nobody expects any degree of journalism from MSNBC. When all this deception finally sees the light of day, I hope all of these "useful idiots" are exposed and held accountable.
Oh yeah. I like her and I actually do watch that network.
BOYCOTT the sponsors of the Rachel Maddow show. If low ratings don't get her off TV, that will.
I think she's a talk show host on one of the MSM channels. I briefly watched an interview with her on the Daily Show until her and Stewart agreed, they were the coolest people they knew, so I changed the channel. All in all about 20 seconds.
Based only on that information, and the fact her name keeps popping up, I'm assuming she's one of the sharper modern libs from the leftist elite institutions. The author does mention Rhodes Scholar and Oxford, and yep, that would do it.
In other words, she's not any better at logically or reasonably debating objective issues than your basic garden variety modern liberal, she's just better at making it sound like it actually is logical and reasonable to the rank and file.
In other words, nothing overly special. I can do that myself. It's not like its hard.
Racism is a code word to hate, not listen, skip that and go directly to hate.
"Tancredo didn’t say “literacy,” and he wasn’t talking about race."
Well actually, he did mention English language literacy.
You manage to avoid adding race for him, though you do make culture an issue.
And then of course you neatly conflate an equivalence between non-voting illegal immigrants and a theoretical general test based on the requirements for legal immigrants in your attempt to defend him.
Good job!
And of course you, and Tancredo, both casually overlook that the Constitution prohibits denying someone the right to vote for any reason other than rebellion or other crime.
Or will you now take a page from Michelle Obama who has said that being overweight is a national security issue, and assert that voting while "improperly" informed constitutes intent to overthrow the government?
Or has Tom Tancredo beaten you to it because they "people who could not even spell the word 'vote' or say it in English put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House."?
I thought it was "Madcow."
Rhodes Scholar, Nobel Peace Prize, Ivy League education. What do they have in common?
No practical experience necessary, no work experience necessary, no achievement necessary, just continuous repetition of the progressive mantra and you too can receive these "prestigious" designations.
They have to attack, they have no choice. They're mapping out the battle plans now for 2010, and this is part of it.
The game is on.
She's certainly not getting any racial diversity in the all-white MSNBC line-up, either.
She is only there so that Olbermann can't slobber and drool over her, since she is a lesbian and he is a ……cat owner?
I feel like I should quote Dan Akroyd from when SNL was funny….
Jane, you ignorant slut!
Rachel….baby, sweetie, honey, the same laws that keeps people from taking your property or your life are the laws that these people are violating when they come here and stay.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
great piece izzy
keep it up
Despite Ms. Madcow (she's not really mad, she has issues) letus not forget that the usual Stoopid Party suspects were the first to denigrate Tancredo. The Genius Rove said in '02 that Tancredo would never be invited to the White House again. That's zactly what happened. Hugh Hewitt was the first to call Tancredo and anyone opposed to illegal immigration nativists, Dennis Prager was the first to imply that anyone opposed to illegal immigration was a racist. David Brooks was the first…but you get my drift.
Illegal immigration is a festering blight on this great land. In the past year and a half we’ve shed 8.5 million jobs, lets send 8.5 million illegals home problem solved. The problem we have, neither political party has the will to enforce the law of the land.
What Tancredo says if perfectly reasonable, this is why he must be vilified by the left.
she sits about three seats LEFT of andrea mitchell
MSM soon will not be able to pay the electric bill. Katie Courics wages are the 1st cut and a whole lot of the MSM will be going tits-up and the the MSM morons can go to the blog-o-sphere were they get so little traffic they will not be able to pay their rent with the google ad revenue. I call that justice.
Maddow just angry she's not a boy…
Gender confusion weighs large in her world. So, defining others is always going to be problematic for someone who looks in a mirror and isn't quite certain what they see…
take a wimpy guy, add steroids to "pump him up" and give it a butch haircut and a sex change.
Madcow.
Yup -to her thirteen lesbian fratchick viewers. Monitors showing empty paking lots get more viewers than she/he does.
White hoods? Meaty Fingers Madcow has no shame! Add to that the fact that she is utterly devoid of honor and integrity. The same can be said for most of the lineup on MSLSD. While I wouldn't blindly defend Tancredo on everything there's some merit to what he's said and done. But what does Ms. Madcow do? She twists the only negative in her piece and, again, turns her childish prattle into an attack everyone who's part of this movement as a Klansman. How crass!?! How immature!?! Keep it up, Libs… you're your own worst enemy and one day you'll realize the error of your ways. You're running out of time as the hour is already late.
I measure her audience at thirteen viewers. You must be using some old stats. hee hee.
Who is Ramrod Maddows?
I can literally SEE MEXICO from my front porch. That is EXACTLY the issue. ILLEGAL…as in NOT LEGAL.
It sickens me our census will be politicized and skewed operatives of the Democrat Party.
I can mow my own damn lawn, the "we wouldn't survive without illegal immigrants" line of bull is garbage.
The semi-good news is that the tough economy is shrinking the illegal population. That means less pressure on civic services and that's good.
22 seems kinda high.
The left throws the "racist" epithet around so much it loses its meaning and impact. Plus, they excuse ACTUAL racism (remarks by Harry Reid and Robert Byrd which, if said by a Republican, would have them drummed out, not to mention Chris Matthews' recent whopper). It's the new, PC equivalent of "doo-doo head".
I'm a racist? YAWN.
Tom Tancredo like JD Hayworth — needs to stop attacking immigrants. Mexico is a mess and any father and mother would want to see opportunity in the USA just like millions of others from Europe and Asia. We need a sensible US immigration policy. Most allies to Tancredo merely say lets build the fence first. That is not the answer. We used to have the Bracero program that worked well here in California. I am a conservative and Republican but I think we need to stop demonstrating compassion instead of vitrial. Why do you think more and more Latinos are turning from the Republicar party. They are naturally allied to freedom and free enterprise. When I get off at a freeway off ramp in LA it is a Latino selling roses and oranges and its the 45 year old able bodied guy with a sign begging for money calling him self a Vietnam Vet when at the end of the war he would have been about 12 years old. We should listen to scholars like Dan Griswold of the Cato Institute who get's it right on this. It is too bad the tea party even put this guy on their program. They can do much better.
I wonder how Meadows feels about Margaret Sanger being biffies with the KKK, or DEMOCRAT Sen. Byrd actually donning the white hood…
Not like it matters what Meadows says anyway, the only people who watch the show are Meadows and gf.
Now that's a double dose of truth!
It's also kind of funny.
Wonder why you never see Madcow anywhere but in her usual time slot that apparently nobody ever watches. Might it be possible that she is irrelevant?! She, Dobermann and Matthews are the 3 stooges of cable TV.
funny how illegals take jobs from other "minorities" and not other "Americans"… No wonder you write for bigjournalism.com…. sad
He's that poor boy whose parents named "Rachel". Perhaps in an effort to make him tough. He's pretty butch so, good job.
It's it really nice to be able to pick and choose which laws should be enforced. All you Legal Immgrants who came in the front door screw you, you probably don't vote the right way for the party in power. You Ilegals, we are gonna make you all citizens as soon as we can so hang in there and vote often. I mean when we make you citizens of course because to vote when you are not a citizen that would make you illegal………oh oh I forgot you already are illegal . Oh well vote often.
I was born in Cuba, my wife in Mexico and neither of us can stand the condescending idiots that excuse illegals.
"Yeah yeah yeah. And Tim Geithner said the kind of thing you want to hear a Treasury Secretary say: the US will absolutely never lose its Aaa debt rating? Riiiiighht! "
Somewhere in China, there's a room full of finance majors who are ROFLTAO.
I wish for an open thread the day MSNBC goes dark.
"Maddow's just angry she's not a boy…"
Whaaaaa? Now that's just mean!!!
I just saw a pix of this Meadow woman….I'm not sure that she is a woman. Looks like a man to me.
Rachael knew exactly what Tancredo said but in the spirit of MSNBC she had to ommit the Civics part because that was the "Context" of Tancredos remarks. When was the last time you heard anyone on MSNBC repeat something said by conservatives in the full context of what they said. Rachael's following does not care about context, they are not equiped to deal with context. Let me get out of context for a moment. Maddow laughs when she talks about conservatives, mocks them in her tone and delivery and she knows full well she is laughing at more than 1/2 of the country and and is mocking more than 1/2 of the country. But he is beloved by her choir. Rachael is the "Laughing Journalist" What she don't understand is THAT the entire country is laughing at her, but all for different reasonS . HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA DID YOU SEE THE CLOWN RACHAEL ON THE CLIP.
Maybe Rachel had some difficulty understanding his words because she was having trouble hearing through her own white hood. You know, like the ones made popular by her democratic party.
I love your optimism. I need more of that in my life right about now!
The Libs elites condescend to all of us who look 'ethnic' to them. They want to count the illegals in the census and redistrict, even though the illegals won't be able to vote. This parallels what happened with the slavers of the southern colonies who wanted to count their 'property' but not let them vote. I don't understand the lack of outrage about this.
Jack,
I completely understand the point you are making and used to tell this riddle: A white, a black and a Mexican are at an intersection. One claims to to be a homeless vet and asks for money, a second claims to be out of work and needs a helping hand. The third is willing to exchange money for a product-a decidedly American ideal. Which one is illegal?
Everytime I see Hispanics, they are working. Most of them have 2 or 3 jobs and are saying prayers of gratitude to have them. I see these guys working hard at any job they are able to land and I think we can do a lot worse than letting people who are willing to work 7 days a week in. Yes, there's crime. There's crime everywhere. It's just the human condition and I don't have any answers for that.
The problems I have are these:
1) Crossing the desert is dangerous and many human beings have died horrible deaths, rapes and any manner of degradation.
2) After suffering humiliation and hardships just to be here to pick our crops, bus our table or out in below zero temperature to shovel snow out of our streets, the Progressives further exploit them for their dangerous agenda.
Again-I'm completely sympathetic to your points and I do see these people as human beings. I've known them personally throughout my life and I love the Hispanic culture. You have no idea how badly I wish I had the answers.
A long, long time ago. I can still remember how that King used to fill my bookshelves……Sorry, reminiscing. I was at one point a huge King fan. Bought every single book the day it came out and devoured them faster than most.
However, now I am all grown up, a worried grandmother and overtaxed working citizen of this once great nation and I have no intention of feeding the liberal machine any more than I have to and that includes supporting blowhards like King. His books have gone downhill since the Gunslinger series, while his liberal mouth just keeps blabbering on. Quite frankly, I have "donated" enough of my money to his estate.
Besides, right now I am far too busy reading up on the American History and Civics that I should have been taught years ago……and much to my surprise – enjoying the lessons.
MSNBC puts a grotesque, gender dysphoric, female-to-male "transman" on during prime time, then wonders why Fox News is mopping the floor with them with 5 times the audience?! Such amazingly poor judgment.
she deals in mean… good for the goose, good for the gander- oh, which one is the gander here?
Wow, never noticed that. MS-WHITEHOODS-NBC.
Maddow is white. white = criminal
See Rachel, see how gay this is? (gay as in 1950's hahaha)
Why? Nobody watches, check her ratings
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/fox-news-thursday-rati...
sure she is not a boy? I have me doubts…
"it's getting to be about time that we all start judging a person for what they are doing and not where they came from. """
Amen. Amen. Im sick of "credentials". All credentials are is a signal to turn off your brain. Credentials allow liberals to make decisions without using their brains. Remember Madoff? Yes, the former Chair of NASDQ. That's where the thinking started and stopped.
R Maddow, "Rhodes Scholar". Ditto. Amazingly the credentials are starting sooner and sooner these days. You could be a grammar school grad from an "elite" all white schools and BOOM, that is the start of your credientialization career. I like to call it PILLOW FACTOR> Thinking and decisions made solely based on how easy it will be to sleep at night, how easy it will be to point to credential and say, hey "so and so was a Rhodes Scholar" or "so and so was former Chair of NASDQ" PILLOW FACTOR> is thinking without requiring the use of one's brain. You need to rest easy…..go for it, PILLOW FACTOR. You don't need to make any compelling arguments to support your thinking, just waive the credentials and you are IN!!!!
I agree about the civics test. Shouldn't you at least be able to read, write and speak the language of the country in which you vote?
The other night I was flipping channels and came across Rachel Maddow. I had never seen her show before, and I have to say, that I have never wanted to reach through the screen and slap someone out of their hysteria so bad in my life. She has some serious issues. I can deal with political commentary, even over the top mudslinging, but she comes across as, well, I can't really say it here. Frankly I was surprised that she would be able to carry a sufficient audience to stay on the air. I really could find no redeeming quality about her show at all. WOW! Did somebody put sand in her jockstrap or what?
so does she, apparently…
Olbermans little brother is up to it again. I tried to watch her for a short period, and its just impossible.
You know what is amazing? If there was a similar conservative gay commentator (yes, gay conservatives exist) and this message board was on Daily KOS, their would be such "homophobic" anti-gay slurs being thrown around, it would be sick. Here we are, on a conservative site and nobody has gotten nasty…..
yet, all the liberals do is imagine, put not only words in the mouths of their conservative targets, but shitt in their pants too.
Keith Olbermann's illigitimate son…
I think SHE (?-that doesn't feel right) has doubts as well.
I can tell you who does has doubts now….ME!
Why bother? Her ratings couldn't get any lower…
The constitution does prohibit a non- US citizen from voting; moron
Maddow is just another example of the extreme left wing who poses to do this country in, Socialists who make no logical sense in their remarks for the securtiy of this country, her exploits ,I'm sure, are an attempt for grand standing so she'll have a job. Let's send her back to Mexico for good!!!!
The two fence hoppers in the pic above are carrying gallon bottles of liquid across the border, but I can't even take a bottle of aftershave on a flight across the state. Illegals are the ones that have all the freedom.
Now, you "Mx" (Mrs? Ms? Mr?) Maddow ……..go translate for your your illumination and education.
You don't think that illegals vote? Excuse me for a sec…bahahahahahahahah! Look, if you want to keep your head in the sand about how ACORN and the Democrat party operate, that's your right, but please don't open your mouth and try to convince me that illegals have NO part, whatsoever, in the massive vote/voter fraud that's hit our country since the middle '90s.
Actually, voting REQUIRES American citizenship. Illegals therefore, should be utterly forbidden from voting, which is the point. Your last sentence makes the point of what Tancredo was saying. It's absolutely hilarious that you typed it, while being completely oblivious to the fact that it wraps up his concern over illegals compromising elections.
Next time, could you try harder?
Oh no, America for Americans is such a horrible thing. Actually, it wasn't Rove who said that; it was Bush. Hugh Hewitt is a blowhard who's interested only in hearing himself talk. If you want proof, look at the way he posted pages in single posts over at jihadwatch.org, even after people complained and complained about his behavior.
Maddow also recently accused Senator DeMint of treason for his stance and actions involved in the recent Honduran Presidential events…
She is a Rhodes scholar??
How can such a supposed educated person be so wrong on a subject, Any intelligent High Schooler could read the Honduran constitution and understand what happened was entirely supported by their Constitution, w/exception of the military kicking the former pres out of the country. They should have just handed him over to Honduran legal authorities.
I watched a vid of her making the accusation against DeMint and saw some one that just ignored common sense and the rule of law as written just to push her leftist agenda,,, pretty pathetic..
She is obviously living the leftist propagandist lie..
I could care less that she is gay, has nothing to do with anything imo. She is however a perfect example of what you get when a persons beliefs are agenda driven instead of intellectually based.
The truth??,, what does that matter if it goes against the agenda….
RE: Sam
You said this:
"And of course you, and Tancredo, both casually overlook that the Constitution prohibits denying someone the right to vote for any reason other than rebellion or other crime. "
Go read the 14th Amendment, article 2: voters must be US citizens. Looks like a pretty big prohibition to me.
Why on earth would you want someone voting for officeholders who will affect us all when said voter hasn't the slightest idea of what they're voting for?
FWIW, I think ALL citizens ought to have to pass some sort of awareness test to vote, regardless of literacy. We have been at the mercy of uninformed morons with ballots for far too long.
Rhodes scholar and Oxford U.
Well, there's a lot of money wasted on a sh!tty education.
That goes to show you that her parents are at least as stupid as she. But in view of her conservative fecal fetish, I'm just not surprised.
you can have fun with silly people like Maddow and not be hateful…
What works best is turning their prism back on themselves. Maddow makes no bones about her sexual tastes, and therefore must suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.
been wanting to quote Shakespeare all day…
the only thing worse than listening to maddow would be david shuster and her conceiving a child.
Hoods? Really? Wow, new low. Only the left keeps bringing this kind of dialogue. Desperation?
Let's just deport everyone from that other "news" station: Madcow, Oldermann, the Tingle up his leg transvestite and Tarborough. We deport them to the South Pole and that would be four less traitors to the United States flag to worry about.
Maddow is an articulate speaker, she was well trained by her "Teachers"! Her philosophy is from a governing class's (Super human race) perspective, whereas everything must be taught, controlled, rationed, inspected, allowed etc. and they demand to be paid lavishly for their godliness! TEA (Taxed Enough Already (TEAbaggers)) involved Citizens see things from a more liberated perspective, where the more you practice self governorship (Moral, Competitive, Equality, self identity and protection standards, the less need there is for a Centralized government to be hired!!! When humans are placed in positions to oversee Angelic duties, corruption will abound, they will feel like gods, the one who makes the law, anyone who challenges them will be cast into (Verbal) Hell!!! And that is my take on Maddow, she sits upon a Throne, in her own mind!!
She's the female, but not feminine, version of Chris Matthews
Here in Jersey City, NJ, illegal immigration is killing us. A real estate developers I've worked with, a LEGAL immigrant himself, tried to get the construction crews to take advantage of the last 'no questions asked' registration a year or two back. Offered to pay the fees and hire someone to help with the forms. Know what they said? No thanks. Then we'd have to pay taxes. Well, my life would be significantly better if I could keep that $20K or so I pay in taxes. I don't even want to get into the crime, the gangs, the human trafficing, the infectious diseases – ugh!
Legal and Amrerican born Latinos are coming to the Republican party because they're sick of the paying the bill for the illegals, too. We cannot have a separate society that contributes as little as possible by way of taxes to the greater society and take as much as they can. America works best as a melting pot. Assimilation is vital. We all must contriute. Legal immigration provides a path to assimilation including the requirement to have a working knowledge of English. Further – why feel sorry only for Mexico? There are far worse places in the world.
She/he has viewers?
damm wewee, you beat me to it! Guess that totally screws the market for all MY SK collection! Plus, I live in Arizona so kindling does me no good at all!
Smart on paper… but she chronically acts 'stupidly' (as BHO would say) since she's suckin on the progressive peacepipe.
Amen Kanton51!
Here's a quote I found yesterday that seems to apply:
"Noise proves nothing. Many a hen who has merely laid an egg cackles as if she had just laid an asteroid."
-Mark Twain
Si!
Damn right Pat!
But I guess it just proves that the proggie mind actually convinces itself that "constitutional laws" are just "guidelines"…
I didn't know Ralph Machio had a cable news show…
Failed Radio Talk show host Rachel Maddow….
OK–How 'bout this as one solution…we let in anyone who is willing to get up when the alarm clock goes off and puts in an honest day's work. But all countries South of the Border have to trade us one for one…for every able body worker they send us, in return they have to take one of our welfare recipients? Right there's all the tax savings.
I agree with "John Gult", boycott all ge businesses
