The Big Question For Nancy Pelosi has nothing to do with unemployment or taxes or even the nearing financial collapse of her home state and the municipalities she represents.  No sir (and madam), the question often asked of our Speaker is, “What’s your favorite word?”

I have walked on this planet for just over 50 years and would not need to remove my mittens to count the number of times someone looked me in the eye and asked, “Hey Mike, what’s your favorite word?” Nor can I recall any real reporters or journalists asking la Nancy such a question when it comes to public policy, so may she just made the whole thing up.

So I guess that we’re supposed to believe Madam Speaker when she stands and delivers this obviously contrived statement, followed by a small bible passage memorized to support her agenda.

Ms. Pelosi wants us to know that her favorite word of all time is the Word.  Yeah yeah, I know, it’s two words, but hang with her, she’s making a point here.  The Word is her word, so let’s let her have it.

I’m still stuck on the fact that we have a Speaker of the House who must think Americans are stupid enough to believe that she has people following her all over the country asking her what her favorite word happens to be.

I was kind of hoping that she would have said, “Bird is the word” and launched into a little bit of the 1963 classic smash “Surfin’ Bird” from The Trashmen.


But no. Speaker Pelosi, the pride of Baltimore, was addressing a Catholic group in D.C. so she did not reference any pop hits like “Surfin’ Bird” or “Grease (Is The Word).” She did go on to explain her appreciation of The Word by saying:

And that Word is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word.

What? Huh?  Wait… the Speaker wants to give voice to what the Word means in terms of public policy?  She continues:

Fill it in with anything you want. But, of course, we know it means: ‘The Word was made flesh and dwelt amongst us.’ And that’s the great mystery of our faith. He will come again. He will come again. So, we have to make sure we’re prepared to answer in this life, or otherwise, as to how we have measured up.

Indeed Ms. Pelosi, we all should be prepared to answer for our actions in this life. And as Vanilla Ice would say, Word to your mother…

Good thing the Left doesn’t mind mixing religion and politics.
