Is there something in the water at MSNBC that makes everybody there crazy? Morning Joe, which ought to be the premier political talk show on morning television — but won’t be until it expands its guest list beyond Mrs. Alan Greenspan, writers and editors at the New York Times and the newsweeklies, and sneering lefties like Donny Deutsch, whose claim to fame is… what, exactly? — recently witnessed this Chernobyl-style meltdown by Lawrence O’Donnell, which has to be seen to be believed:
Sure, it’s tough being on the side of the incipient losers, staring into the electoral abyss of 2010 and knowing it’s going to take a miracle to save you. But even Joe Scarborough — who normally is quick to assure his liberal guests that he’s not really that kind of conservative – couldn’t take the vicious animosity, not to mention the spectacular rudeness to one of his guests. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, if this is how MSNBC treats its conservative guests, it doesn’t deserve to have any.
Memo to MSNBC management: in the immortal words of Joseph Welch to Sen. Joseph McCarthy at the Army-McCarthy hearings:
You’ve done enough. Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?

this is not like rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic after the iceburg, but trying to get interior decorators and a new coat of paint on the ship. then once the one end is already in the water, getting ropes to hang off the top half to keep painting. i only watch msnbc one video clip at a time, and never on tv, only in clips showing examples of what a nervous breakdown looks like.
O'Donnell is new to me, but he sure is showing the world what a bonafide leftist American is all about. He was talking over the portion of Thiessen's response, but I heard him point out several terrorist incidents, all occurring during the period when Gorelick's policies would have kept a quasi-domestic crime approach to these attacks. O'Donnell is probably too busy yelling at Thiessen, to have heard the answer, but he still seems to think he is doing his job by yelling his loaded, and very simplistic question: "Didn't Bush invite 9-11?"
O'Donnell needs to understand that the answer is ABSOLUTELY NO, NO, NO. Whether you think Bush was stupid, or that his policies AFTER 9-11 in Iraq and Afghanistan and toward, say Qaddafi were wrong, there is simply no proof whatsoever that Al-Qaeda would have behaved differently had Bush never been elected and Al Gore having, then been President, that they wouldn't simply have not done EXACTLY the same thing.

I, unfortuneately, watch both Fox and MSNBC regularly. I like Fox, but know it is skewed to a degree. It is just that, at least with Fox, they have guests on that represent the other side. In the 3 yrs of watching Olbermann regularly, I have never seen him have one guest on of the other side. Maddow has a few, occasionally, but seldom.

My Armchair Psychology:
I think liberals are fundamentally unhappy, hateful people. Bush is the ultimate outlet for letting out the hate. Liberals are always saying that they are on the "morally right side" of the issues. I think that makes it ok in their minds to be viciously hateful. You can see it in the comments sections of newspapers everyday.
I read somewhere that Republicans are generally happy and content.
I loved it. O'Donnell's questions were right on the money, and I was disappointed Joe cut him off. Thiessen is a lightweight and O'Donnell had his facts in order.
How do you vote against civil rights? You mean he didn't support the very anti-civil-rights bill called the Civil Rights bill? Not much has changed – like the Patriot Act having nothing to do with patriotism. Civil Rights bill removed many civil rights from Americans.

There were times about 2 years ago that I used to watch MSNBC and even enjoyed Chris Matthew's show because I was interested to hear what Pat Buchanan usually had to say. I can safely say that the last 2 years I cannot take anything on this channel for more than 5 minutes before, to quote Glenn Beck, blood starts shooing out of my eyes. Life is too short to try to really get their point of view. At least CNN presents the other side in a more reasonable manner and I can get the other side by just staying long enough on Fox and eventually they will put someone on to try to explain the position.
