World may not be warming, say scientists
The United Nations climate panel faces a new challenge with scientists casting doubt on its claim that global temperatures are rising inexorably because of human pollution.
“The temperature records cannot be relied on as indicators of global change,” said John Christy, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a former lead author on the IPCC.
The doubts of Christy and a number of other researchers focus on the thousands of weather stations around the world, which have been used to collect temperature data over the past 150 years.
These stations, they believe, have been seriously compromised by factors such as urbanisation, changes in land use and, in many cases, being moved from site to site.
“The story is the same for each one,” he said. “The popular data sets show a lot of warming but the apparent temperature rise was actually caused by local factors affecting the weather stations, such as land development.”
In other news of the rapidly-unraveling hoax that has enriched a few greedy men, frightened millions and threatened to beggar the economies of the post-industrial West, Britain’s left-wing Guardian reports:

Climate experts have been forced to admit another embarrassing error in their most recent report on the threat of climate change.
In a background note – released by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) last night – the UN group said its 2007 report wrongly stated that 55% of the Netherlands lies below sea level. In fact, only 26% of the country does. The figure used by the IPCC included all areas in the country that are prone to flooding, including land along rivers above sea level. This accounts for 29% of the Dutch countryside.

Vegetarians announce that "eating meat causes global warming". So called health experts have concluded that "obesity causes global warming". The U. The very act of accepting research money from the IPCC impugns a scientists credability. It's clear what result they want They won't settle for anything less. I've concluded that the 1rst amendment is the biggest cause of global warming. If it didn't prevent us from banning the utterance of that increasingly annoying phrase and the hot air that accompanies it we could easily cool the planet by several degrees.

Of course, in the context of this post, we are talking about those who want power/control over other people in a negative way. Most of those people would obviously want the trappings that can come with power. But, I'd stop short of drawing a 1-1 correlation.
Although extremely rare IMO, there are those who might have had power, but themselves led a modest lifestyle. I'm sure we can think up a few people in history that might fit that model. Every day more and more evidence come to light that all the Man Made Global Warming hype was at best some scientists responding poorly to new found celebrity and producing results that would feed the monster that gave them that celebrity to begin with. It all goes back to the original question which is how sensitive is the climate to increasing levels of carbon dioxide. This question has still not been answered and will probably not be answered in or life times. This is also why when scientists are asked if there is man made global warming they almost always say yes. The question that is not asked or reported on is how much warming is man responsible for? It is that question that is the important one and that question is one that most scientists disagree with the IPCC.

Yet, even if there were no problems with the data collection, the temperature ' increase ' is not significant. According to the HADLEY CENTRE ( they support the notion of AGW ) temperatures have increased by 0.76 C since 1880. A less than 8/10 of 1 degree temperature change in 130 years is well within the standard deviation for most of the data sets and very well within the norm. Ordinary variations in data collection ( we're using different thermometers today than they had in the 19th century ) or ordinary, non – anthropogenic climate change is a far better explaination for such a slight temperature increase. To say temperatures have changed 8/10 of 1 degree in more than a century is really to say there has been no change.
The HADLEY CENTRE cites the 0.76 C temperature change as ' proof ' that human CO2 emissions cause global warming, but it really is so insignificant it proves nothing.
For those of you who demand ' peer reviewed science ', these 32,000 scientists say that human CO2 emissions do not cause global warming. 32,000 scientists agreeing should be sufficient ' peer-review ' for any fair-minded person.

I have been following this story from the beginning. It has been reported in such a way as to convince people that the problem is worse than it is. Tricks with wording, using partial data sets, graphs presented in such a way that confuse rather than bring clarity are just a few of the techniques used. The rates of warming that were supposed to be unprecidented are not and Dr. Phil Jones has finally admitted to that.
Even though more and more is known now that this was always much ado about nothing politicians and others will not let go of an opportunity to have control over people like this easily. Pres. Obama has recently taken steps to enact most of the draconinan measures by executive order. The EPA threatens to regulate Carbon Dioxide as a polutant. The war is far from over. Sanity has won a few battles but until the AGW crowd is finally silenced for good none of us are safe from increasing government interference.
But Big Al certainly went up on the stage as if it was his award.
At the same time the UN was in a rush to collect 10 Billion dollars from the victims of this hoax.

Then in the time of early man, there was an ice age…where were the cars and carbon footprint them? In all this talk about Global Warming or Global Climate Change, there is one idea that I have not heard or read mentioned by anyone. About twenty-five years ago, the terrific science writer James Gleick published his book "Chaos." The book discusses the mathematics/physics revolution that came to fruition in the seventies and early eighties in a group of related disciplines studying how complexity can arise from simplicity or how nominally stable conditions can lead to chaotic conditions. These systems, including population fluctuations, fluid flow, economies and – in a repeated theme in the book – weather and by implication climate are highly sensitive to initial conditions. This means that if one set of weather conditions is even the slightest bit different from another set of weather conditions, this small difference can lead to dramatically large differences in outcome. The differences in outcome are in principle unpredictable.
The system's resultant behavior can seem random, but it is not; it is merely impossible to compute or predict, following, as it does, what in the jargon is called a "Strange Attractor." A Strange Attractor is a set of points or a curve that is contained within certain constraints yet seems to jump around randomly.
If climate moves according to a Strange Attractor, and there is every reason to believe it does, then its behavior has nothing to do with humans, it cannot be predicted and its changes are not teleological or inexorably directional.

Actually that's one of the scamiest lies of the whole AGW scam — that CO2 is a pollutant! It is NOT a pollutant in any manner, way shape or form. It is, in fact, essential to all plant life on earth, and by extension to almost all other life.
Implementation of the National Environmental Protection Act of 1970 destroyed any "right to pollute" long ago, thoroughly if not to the point of overflow. Cap & trade is not about reining in "pollution," but about financing big government, and fettering all NON-polluting industrial activity.
Or actually six billion ants. Six thousand of them are already in my kitchen, with plenty of room to spare. They have moved in to seek refuge from the 40 inches of "global warming" outside..
