Courtesy of Scott Johnson, one of the stalwarts of the indispensible Power Line blog, comes this illuminating correspondence:
My name is Greg Farrell and I would like you to know I have been exchanging emails challenging Washington Post Ombudsman Andrew Alexander and his version of the incidents concerning Rep Lewis and Rep Carson. I was there at the foot of the Cannon Building. Here is the exchange in order. The first is my response to Alexander’s version as set forth in his April 11 Washington Post column.
The following is Mr. Farrell’s email correspondence with Alexander:
Put your money where your pen is.
There follows a classic exchange in which Alexander gets much the worst of it. In fact, he exemplifies just about everything that’s wrong with contemporary establishment journalism: defensiveness, pettifoggery, arrogance, and an utter disinclination to use his faculties of reason instead of his emotions and his sense of “social justice.”

Scoring on the ten-point-must system, I’ve got Farrell well ahead on points. So read the whole thing — savoring every word — and then let’s have your thoughts on Alexander, the Post and the state of the MSM today. Remember to protect yourself at all times, and no hitting below the belt.

I'm loving this stuff. Way to go, Mr. Farrell!
I wasn't going to comment because the email exchange between Farrell and Alexander so clearly illustrates liberal media's guilty-until-innocent strategy and its complete, intransigent stubbornness to even conceive of the possibility that they might be wrong. But I was also curious why there hasn't been any question about Andre Carson's credibility. He inherited his position from his grandmother, who was pretty consistently associated with voter fraud. While there's nothing substantial that came from such accusations of Julia Carson's voter fraud, I'm sure that her grandson has far less behind his accusations of racism.
Damn fine job there Mr. Farrell.
Question the stories and confront the lies folks. Its the only way these so-called journalists are going to learn that they aren't fooling anyone with their alternate reality style of reporting. We know who we are, and we know who we aren't. We are not racist's just because they wish us to be.
Once again, thank you Mr. Farrell.
Again, and obviously – this is manufactured "outrage" and an organized effort by professionals in the Democrat Party and their minions in the press.
Narrative – "Tea Party is racist". Proof – NON-EXISTANT. Soooooooooooooooo, manufacturer it.

I honestly wish I could answer that. What I can say is that his grandmother made sure he was looked after, Indiana State Police waived the college/military requirement (2yrs. at the time, most of us had bachelor degree and or military), and that he was made an investigator before probation period was over, a position that is normally given to 5yr. plus veterans and was given a position as a supervisor at Indiana Homeland Security in an anti-terrorism unit with virtually no experience (oddly enough that came about not long after he converted to Islam).
To validate dates:
Born on October 16, 1974
* You have to be 21yrs. old to be a law enforcement officer with ISP so that leads to 1995 (oddly enough his class started before he turned 21)http://www.in.gov/isp/2368.htm
* He was assigned to Excise in 1996 (fresh out of the ISP Academy)
*Stayed there till 2005 while he went to college for his bachelor and his MBA
* Lobbied for his grandmother for about a 1 1/2 yr. then became a marketing specialist for Cripe Architects + Engineers (2007-2008) and a City Councilman in 2007-2008
* Took over his late grandmothers seat in 2008 in a special election
Side note, his backing for the general election was from the same people who backed Obama.http://www.whorunsgov.com/Profiles/Andr%C3%A9_Car... (Washington Post Company)
When I say he was "Looked after" I wasn't joking.
Dude, YOU ROCK~!
Reading through the comments, it's almost like these people are totally unaware that Andy posted fake video as "proof" that Cleaver wasn't spit on. AP caught him in what we'll generously call an "error." Weird, I wonder why they wouldn't know. Your super-high journalistic standards would require a retraction, wouldn't they?
Color me perplexed.
On a related note, if it comes down to taking the word of some rightwing crazy or a hero of the civil rights movement, I know who I'm putting my money on. This orchestrated attempt to smear Cleaver is disgusting in the extreme and everyone cheering it on are great examples of people without shame or conscience.
Can we say fast track or just sit down and shut up with privilege?
What the ………
Hey Wisco, whats goin' on here? I got a post here with yer name, but the text is nuthin' but
"sskkkwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sskkkwwweeeeeeeee sssskkeeeeee skkwweee sssskkkwwweeeeeeeeee"
Somethin' like the noise a little piggy might make if ya stuck it with a fork.
I don't think it's my monitor, cuz everyoine else is 'QSA 5er's' .
Hummm.. maybe some Hormel employee named Wisco dropped his laptop in one of the pens. That must be it.
"ssskkkwwwweeeeeeeeeeeee sssskkkkwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
Hush little piggy.
Way to go Greg! We gotta' keep the heat on these guys. Make 'em, if not tell the facts, at least stop their fibbin'. Too bad about how far congressman Lewis appears to have fallen. I wonder if there are any numbnut lefties who think it was Cleaver and not Lewis that marched with MLK? Probably not. No one could be that dumb. John Lewis was a hero of the civil rights movement, but Hitler was a hero in World War One. Not that I'm comparin' Lewis to Hitler, I'm just sayin' that just because you're a hero once, doesn't mean you can't change. Become selfish. Trample others for your own gain. But, you can't be too surprised, all that progressive thinkin' tends to drive folks offa the deep end. Ya know what Einstein used to say; Insanity is doing the same thing time after time and expect to get different results. Socialism has been tried many times, and has always failed. Progressives want to try again, expecting it to work THIS time. You know what ol' Einstein would say; " Dees peeple iz coo-coo for cocoa-puffs, ya?" I agree, Albert, I agree.
Wow! That is a quality evisceration. What is so beautiful about it is Farrell had his facts in order and waited for Alexander to over-commit. He did it calmly and factually, which made it infinitely more devastating. Good for him and good for Powerline (then you) for bringing it to our attention. I think people have lost touch with the fact that they can make a difference if they keep their heads and use the truth. It's the best way to fight ignorance and bias.
Way to go Mr. Farrell you cleaned the clock of this odious propagandist posing as an objective non partisan.
now that is what I think is a great response to a little piggy
Mr Farrell did a good job pointing out the obvious inconsistency. The lying members of the Black Caucus changed their story when they could not get anyone to support their lies.
I have viewed some of the videos and the most I heard was "kill the bill" and that included the person taking the video. That video had the alleged spitting incident (which was not a deliberate spit). It also showed the congress critters coming back into the crowd with a black policeman in tow, and that policeman was not interested. Ditto for the woman police officer. She showed no signs of reacting to anything that was either said or done.
They were lying and they are corrupt. They need to be removed once and for all from your Congress because they are a disgrace.
The LSM are also a disgrace for the manner in which they have reported something that never happened in the first place.
All I can say is that the liberal media is fomenting hatred, division and violence upon America for the sole purpose of foisting a communist state upon us,they take over the schools, the media and now our government and when things don't go as planned they try will now go to the next step which is using brutal force.WATCH
The emails were fascinating. As burned out as I am on the never-ending racism charges being flung at innocents by those whose motives are more than a little suspect, this exchange between the MSM and an actual eyewitness was a thing of beauty. Freedom in America is not dead. However, I fear that too many folks in the MSM are intractable in their ignorance and denial of reality as this exchange has illustrated. I don't watch or listen to their machinations so these reminders are helpful – however infuriating.
That was great. Its been a long time since I've read the Post. Doesn't look like I've missed much.
Thre Cheers for Greg Farrell!!!
HUZZAH! HUZZAH! HUZZAH!
Wow! Shows just how corrupt the media is and how far lying black congressmen will go to try and smear American citizens. What a pathetic show that so called "march" was.
Good job Greg!
Sorry, I was tired when I posted last night, I forgot:
* Investigator/supervisor Indiana Homeland Security anti-terrorism unit (200-2008)
-While on the Indianapolis City Council and working for Cripe and Lobbying for his grandmother
You know what I got out of it. Contempt for a private citizen questioning the ombudsman for blatant "misreporting". The articles were meant to discredit the tea parties, the charade was exposed by Mr. Farrell and the supposed journalist is trying weasle his way out of the propaganda he was caught peddaling.
[...] » Citizen-Journalist Engages WaPo Ombudsman Over ‘N-Word’ Story, Ombudsman Loses &… [...]
This is what will bring down the corrupt media – citizens like Mr. Farrell calling them out publicly with proof on their biased crap they try to pass for news reporting. Mr. Farrell, thank you, we need a lot more of you out there doing this. The press is responsible for us having Obama in the White House and bringing our great country to ruin. Thanks to Andrew Breitbart for starting this ball rolling and to Powerline Blog for getting it spread. We cannot let the press keep denigrating and lying about the patriot citizens of othis country, calling us rascists and other names. The real racists are the media and the left.
The 'Main Stream Media' tells us their views, not the news.
It's called propaganda.
This is great. Let those racist bastards know we are not with Obama and will not be called a racist for wanting to stop his racist agenda. Remember the Jews. They were wiped out by crazy bastards like we have running our country. Is the Tea Party going to be the next Jews of this world. Obama and SEIU are looking to make us prisoners right now. Andy Stern retired from SEIU to help Obama grow a public private security with Acorn members. Wake Up America.
thank you love Americans ……sometimes
Wow. A bigot named "Wisco".
Thank you for the info. I am from Indianapolis and I didn't know most of this. I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised, since the Indianapolis Star has always shilled for the Carsons. Andre Carson never has to worry about an investigative journalist digging into his past, or his present for that matter.
As to the allegations of voter fraud? I'm certain that the Star won't lift a finger to investigate that either. I do know, from first hand experience, that Julia spent years putting together an effective political machine to get out the vote. Her grandson, with assistance from Organizing for America, is using that machine for his benefit whenever it is required. I went to a rally that was counter-rallied by the Carson/OFA forces. They had glossy signs and bullhorns and brought in supporters using church and nursing home buses. I was impressed and alarmed at the same time.
Maybe Mr. Farrell should be a regular Breitbart contributor too!
As I read all the smear and name calling from the left and the MSM, I have to shake my head in wonder. These people just don't get it.
What ignites the Tea Party is the belief in personal freedom conceived by our founders and incorporated in our Constitution. It is something that is built into the American People, it is in our blood. The Tea Party isn't about political party. It is about being an American and the greatness of our country. We need no leader. Each and every one of us is a leader. They don't understand that we understand that God gave us our freedom and they don't have the right to take it away from us and we won't let them. Many of us were not involved in politics and took for granted our elected officials were following their sworn oaths to uphold the Consititution. Last year when Obama and the left made it clear that they want to turn us into a European Socialist country something stirred in our blood and moved us. That, my fellow Americans, was our God given right to freedom. We love it and we will fight for it.
Did I miss something? I haven't heard John Lewis say one word about the incident. If he hasn't commented then there is no reason to come to his defense.
Andrew Breitbart has offered $100,000 dollars to the person who can provide conclusive proof that the events described by Carson and Cleaver actually did happen. No one has stepped forward to claim the prize. How about you, Wisco?
Good for you, Mr. Farrell! K.O.
I agree. This is a great example of why citizens must *fight back immediately* and powerfully when the MSM trumpets their fake news stories. Any kid with his fist in the cookie jar will just keep doing it until all the cookies are gone, or until his hand gets smacked several times for trying it. When we let the MSM get away with their pettifoggery (like we have for years), they learn its routine business. We have many years of "unlearning" to accomplish.
I respect his civil rights activism, but somewhere down the line he realized that the Jesse Jackson brand of race-baiting and demagoguery was a great way to fuel a political career. He's been seeing racists behind every rock ever since. After all, this is the same guy who basically accused McCain and Palin of being George Wallace segregationists for daring to run against Obama. He deserves respect for his stand for civil rights in the 60's, but getting beaten up by a gang of Arkansas rednecks doesn't necessarily mean he's an honest man.
Well done Mr. Farrell. This spreading of vicious and slanderous lies without any corroborating evidence should now be followed up with a story about how The Post let it's readers down by engaging in unsubstantiated smears. That would be the right thing to do. That would also be one way for the Post to re-establish its actual credibility with readers. But unfortunately the political agenda is apparently more important than doing the right thing, even when doing the right thing would be beneficial for their enterprise.
These are lessons kids used to learn in grade school or from their Mom's if they engaged in these kinds of activities. Those lessons seem to have been forgotten long ago for the greater good of political victory. And further, while the good Congressman may have been a hero during the civil rights area, this behavior is anything but heroic. In fact it is outrageous and shameful and he needs to be retired. It is time to call these people out for their sin of bearing false witness.
I sent Alexander a civil e-mail of my own and have yet to hear anything back from him. The points I kept underscoring are these:
1. You have no proof that anybody yelled even one racial slur at that protest.
2. Even if you could find such proof, you have yet to establish who the name caller was. So why would you automatically assume he was a Tea Party member? It's not as if only card-carrying Tea Party members were allowed in that crowd, and it's not as if the Left has never used Alinsky tactics to pose as members of a rival group.
3. Even if you could prove that somebody yelled the N-word, and even if you could prove that person was a Tea Party protester … so what? I don't mean I endorse such offensive language, but since when do the actions of one extremist reflect on the group as a whole?
And as I reminded him, the MSM were more than happy to drive this point home when it involved Major Hasan, the Fort Hood shooting and whether that reflected on American Muslims and Islam as a whole. Funny how the same standard doesn't apply when it comes to a conservative group.
