Israeli commandos boarded ships of a flotilla — dubbed an “aid mission” of pro-Palestinian activists — headed for the blockaded Gaza strip. Fighting broke out and at least 10 people have been reported killed, with the death toll likely to rise.
Trouble immediately broke out:
One of the commandos told reporters he descended by rope from a helicopter onto one of the six ships in the convoy and was immediately attacked by a group of people waiting for them.
“They beat us with metal sticks and knives,” he said. “There was live fire at some point against us.”
A Reuters cameraman on the Israeli navy ship Kidon close to the six-vessel aid convoy said commanders monitoring the operation were surprised by the strong resistance put up by the pro-Palestinian activists.
One of the commandos said some of the soldiers were stripped of their helmets and equipment and a number were tossed from the top deck to a lower deck and then leapt into the sea to save themselves.
“They jumped me, hit me with clubs and bottles and stole my rifle,” one of the commandos said. “I pulled out my pistol and had no choice but to shoot.”
In the supercharged atmosphere of the middle east, expect the fog of war in the media — which is where this war has been being fought for decades — to intensify, even if the actual conflict does not.
But this can’t be good.

Israel made it clear that that they would interdict any attempt to run the blockade. The U.S. and it's allies should have supported Israel then. But no, Obama wanted the conflict, knew its likely outcome and will use the phony furor to advance his agenda. We know what that is. Stop Obama in his tracks now.

It is clear, the aid boats were 'massing' on the waters bordering my beloved Israel in order to invade and kill all the peace loving Israeli people. This is no different than the 6 Day War. i woke up this morning to the horrifying news (from the drudge report no less!) it took a few hours for the other side to come out with it's side. i honestly believe that the IDF acted properly especially when they're being slandered by the world media, that's usually a pretty good indication that they did the right thing.

in which case Israel had every right to board the ship as a preemptive strike of self defense.
mind you they were a bunch of other boats that were boarded by armed forces, the occupants of the other boats didn't attack the boats and they are all well cared for.

If they had no intent on doing anything wrong then they should have allowed entry on ship. Why couldn't they shoot down on them while sliding down the rope. You know like the movies. They didn't because they were trying not to harm them. However a metal pole killed attacking soldiers, I believe that I see who had intentions to harm.
