In the 19th century, the heyday of vicious political cartoons and biting satire, Thomas Nast stood above all other editorial cartoonists, attacking the corruption, venality and breathtaking dishonesty of New York’s Tammany Hall with unflinching disdain. The “Wigwam” controlled Democrat Party politics in the metropolis for nearly a century and established the template for the Democrats’ unique combination of thuggery, racism and elitism in the service of “the little guy” that remains their hallmark to this day.
Be sure to watch every minute of this excerpt from Ric Burns’ extraordinary 1999 documentary, New York, to get a sense of the rapacious extent of the Democrats’ malfeasance, and Nast’s role in bringing them down:
“People begin to tire of holding their noses.” So where are the Thomas Nasts of today? To judge from this brilliant video, PolitiZoid is a good place to start looking:
Obama, Harry Reid and that crazy lady with the gavel and the face lift — what’s not to like?

Just brilliant!
I'm amazed. Y'know, I'm not half bad with the topical parodies myself, but this stuff is the cat's pajamas.
Thanks for sharing! Thanks a whole heap!
That is some solid commentary. Not to mention I die every time I see Paleolosis googly eyes.
considering the modern media is now State Controlled…
The operable answer would be 'Yes'. They are capable of a mild tweak of Barry Soetero every now and then, but ultimately have too much invested in his munificence to ever be truly critical. It's only if he lets down his Prog/left base that he, or his minions get skewered.
Until then it is the endless bashing of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. The Joe McGinnis thing is emblematic of this; he moves in next door to the Palin's so he can be up close and personal with his hateful take on her. Can you imagine that happening to, say Hillary Clinton? Or Katie Couric?
So, cutting edge political humor will emanate from three places: the internet, foreign sources (Austrailian cartoons have been very good) and, of course, FOX…
Interesting political cartoon site at http://drawfortruth.wordpress.com/category/libert...
Beta Errors Yo
Betrayer Or So
Abet Errors Yo
Ears Boo Terry
A Borer Storey
are all anagrams of Barry Soetero.
I like this anagram of Barrack Hussein Obama…"A Barbarian Hocks Me Us" (where "hock" means "to pawn or sell carelessly").
Agreed. Bookmarked this site a couple of months ago.
I love the PolitiZoid video!!!!!
The enemy and threat to freedom loving Americans.

I do enjoy Gary Varvel's stuff with the Indianapolis Star. It's posted on the paper's website as well as Town Hall, too. He's got a pretty good wit, his art isn't cluttered and has been critical of our big government. It's just too bad the rest of the paper is lib-drivel.
Saw that the other day. Great use of Dire Straits. I assume Dire approves – it's their sort of message.
And yes, youtube is where most o the best minds are expressing themselves. But don't forget South Park.

I have my own theory on the MSM's love affair with the messiah.
They are much too cynical for money not to be factored in to the situation. I wonder just how much of a bump to the bottom line they got from the positive spin on Obama? Especially after 8 years of gutter reporting on Bush.
EdSki, your knowledge is needed on another thread.
It is White House Sestak Story Doesn't Pass The Smell Test on Big Gov.
Comment was by Petee363 on the first page regarding the "advisory board" offer.

perhaps- but they do all drink from the same Progressive fountain- and he IS their guy.
Warts and all…
Never underestimate the power of economics. Hack reporters have to eat and sleep too.
I've often made the observation in the past 18 months that the Obama Administration runs exactly like the ward heeler mentality of Tammany Hall

Partial retirement? Remember Cox & Forkum?
they are mercenary, no doubt…
But they don't understand the Big Picture, and money is something they need but don't really earn. No, it's all about entitlement politics- and the rewards that go with it. Give the NY Times a grant…
It is not the same video. It is a link to the biggest threat to all of US.

That's where the money comes from. If it wasn't, they wouldn't follow. Covering that in a favorable light.
Will be in touch shortly on conservatism vs. libertarianism, trying to figure out the proper jousting edict for challenges, Who gets the first shot?

I am sorry to alert you and then disappear. Had to dash off for a while, and this is the first chance I've had to ask you my question. Thanks for reliably showing up so quickly.
What I had been wanting your opinion on was this:
Would Sestak have had to resign his Congressional seat in order to serve in the unpaid position on the board that the White House is reputed to have offered him in order to keep him from running for Specter's Senate seat?
I will get your opinion on this as well, dcase:
Would Sestak have had to resign his Congressional seat in order to serve in the unpaid position on the board that the White House is reputed to have offered him in order to keep him from running for Specter's Senate seat?
I used to enjoy Gary Varvel's toons on JewishWorldReview regularly. Too much to read, so I had to scale back on the websites, and since the Bigs, I don't check out the site as often. Miss the toon choices and wide selection of editorialists.
Well, that bears some thought, doesn't it?
Can't think of any reason he'd have to. There's no law saying representatives can't have private business dealings. Though there limits as to who they can do business with. I doubt the White House would fall under that.
There's nothing new about this political horse trading, it goes on all the time. The difference here is not that Slestak was offered a job, it's that he publicly stated it. And when it comes to the Chicago style politics this administration practices, you don't do that.
That's the real story that interests me.
