George Staphylococcus is the epitome of bias. The media has become the crony "go-to" corporate job for political hacks and it's choking the timely and accurate flow of information.

A classic example of the revolving door between politics and the MSM – a former Clinton staffer, what did you expect – hence I don't watch him or even know what channel he's on.
To be fair (although I'm not sure why I want to be fair to George Stephanopoulos) Charles Krauthammer said essentially the same thing on Fox News All-Stars Wednesday night. The point being that this president has given the left more than any president for the past 50 years– health care, government motors, bailouts of union pension plans, massive regulatory burdens on business, nearly $1,000,000,000,000 for liberals to spend on liberal pet projects (aka the simulus)– and still the left whines.

This is the age of activists disguised as "journalists". George, like much of the media, is just a protector of democratic interests. His bias is completely obvious.
I'm glad Stephanopoulos no longer hosts 'This Week'.
I'm not sure I like the girl doing it now (Christiane Amanpour) but I'll give her a chance…for now.

The only network news I watch is 'Fox News Sunday' and 'This Week'.
But I'm getting pretty old I suppose.
I don't think anyone would ever confuse Stephy with a real journOlista… I don't watch that channel, I won't listen to him and I'm not interested in the treacle he has to sell.
Oh, I'm fairly antique myself. But I wasn't thinking about Fox. I watch Fox! I'm remembering Huntley-Brinkley, Cronkite, and–who was on ABC back then? They brought the world into America's living rooms. If they weren't covering it, it wasn't important. The people who bought the original television sets, back in the 50s, are the ones who still regard the 6:00 network news as all the news that matters. And by and large, that's who Georgie-boy is talking to. Plus a half dozen people on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. And his mother.
Not only that, but there's gambling in Casablanca!
My wife, God Bless Her, put's on the 5 o'clock local news to watch what's going on in our closest big city and just leaves it on through the 5:30 and 6 :00 national news and she hasn't a clue what's happening. Occasionally she'll bring up something that the MSM catches on to about a month or two late and will ask me if I heard about it. I usually have to tell her that it was old news months ago, why was she just bringing it up. That normally ends the conversation.
They man was a shill for Clinton. The day ABC hired him for a news position I said WTF. He is a biased hack period.

When I do tune in, it last for about 1 min. when they perform their bias reporting, I just laugh and turn to FOX.
Even FOX has its share of Liberals. But I do not want a PRAVDA for conservatives like the Liberals have with all the media.

I met Amanpour in 2005 in Iraq around the time of the first elections (could be anytime from Dec 04 to Jan 05, I can't remember the exact date). She had a superior attitude and left a very bad impression of CNN.
At the time I couldn't figure out if she was anti-war or just a good reporter refusing to take anything at face value. Liberal douchebaggery never occurred to me; I had more important things on my mind.
Basically, in person, she's just a real b***h.
I have that same situation with the news delay between my mom and I.

Except for watching Fox while I'm fixing dinner, I use the net for news (Drudge, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, Breitbart ,obviously), etc. and some foreign news websites. In my family in the 50's, the TV wasn't turned on until after dinner. My uncle,God bless him, who is 84, e-mails me news articles.

Well TR, she's pretty conservative by nature, she's just not all that passionate about the news in general. She reads the local 20 page or so newspaper to see what's going on in our little community, beyond that, I don't think she's that concerned. I think she's one of those ignorance is bliss kind of people. She leaves all of the what's going on in the world type of stuff to me.
She really is a kind soul who is very much into helping the neighbors and giving to the community, she's just not very interested in what goes on beyond her little world of the parish we live in. She just recently let our kids talk her into getting her own Facebook page, I was shocked, can I tell you.
Life would be nicer if some of the fools lost their voices. They have already lost their marbles and they never developed any morals.
Annie_C, it's sort of sobering to realize now, that those newsmen, back in the day, were only reporting their version of the news, isn't it? America believed we were getting the truth – especially back then – and we weren't.

That doesn't mean that everyone needs to blog or spend all day on a computer reading the real news. It does mean, however, that they need to change the way they "do business."

You are correct in your assessment. The thing that irritates me is to hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth claiming they are objective. I like it when there are partisan views openly expressed, so that the public can compare what is in their best interest.

When he showed up five or six years ago he seemed somewhat moderate. I expected some bias but it wasn't blatant at first. Yes, they had tremendous authority. Within the short span of one human lifetime we have the experience of mass media, in which a small group of individuals could, in one broadcast, have instant influence over an entire nation, and now we've gone beyond event that to the internet, in which every member of a democracy can discuss events with everyone else. What a time to be alive!
