On my Twitter account, I follow a few hundred mainstream media-types (keep the enemy closer, right?), and unless I've missed it (and I hope I have), not a single one has spoken out in defense of Roland Martin. Not one. How scary is that. The politically correct Groupthink...

Haven't watched the video yet but it has to be Washington D.C. Now I'll watch and see if I'm correct.
humorous and informative!
Notice that the "protestors" being rounded up in Cuba are all black. Cuba has always been a racist communist country
Craziest City is Cincinatti?
I'd have to say the dumbest one right now tonight is Tuscon, Arizona.
That is where Sarah Palin is, shilling right now for John McCain on FOX.
I have finally made a decision on Ms. Palin. The more she talks, the more it is akin to fingers on a blackboard. She needs to shut the hell up. Here is my problem with her: Sarah Palin is a paid consultant to FOX News. She is out there for McCain, lending her name, and trying to throw the Tea Party name behind him. It can't be both ways, let alone three ways. She is pissing and moaning about the status quo in DC, yet apparently fails to savvy what a conflict of interest is. She needs to shut up, and go back to the far frozen North.
Excuse me, are you sayin'
Castro and Che were/are racist?
That ain't what my niece's teacher told her…
zmdavid, I'm sure by now you know which city it is, I was going with Dallas…I love that town…
She's toast. Had she distanced herself from the guy who threw the election to give us ObaMarx, she might have had a snowball's chance–not now.
While living in central Hellinois, I volunteered for Project read to teach a Cubano English. He was black and the things he told me about the ways blacks were treated there sure explained why he was in the States.
I also respect what you just wrote.
I was ambivalent toward her when she ran with McCain in 2008. I voted for them, as a vote against Obama. Just as I voted twice for Bush, as a vote against first Al Gore, and secondly John Kerry. I have continued to watch her, and reserve opinion. Until tonight, I had not fully formed an opinion. Now I have, while watching her yammer away on Greta.
I agree with what you wrote, and what KDS wrote above. She is toast. She just lost me. She cannot come out and rail against the status quo, while being a paid consultant and commentator for FOX. it simply cannot be both ways.
Sarah darlin', to quote Joe Biden this week: "This is a BIG F**king deal". Shut up and go home honey.
I love your wry humor.
Dallas has my vote as well…………
Of course, no matter what the craziest, or even the top ten craziest cities are, you can be sure they are long time democrat strongholds.
Not a Palinbot either, but McCain did pull her out of semi-obscurity in Alaska, and has contributed to her becoming a wealthy woman. The campaigning is keeping a promise and showing her gratitude…I would think that, after the way the campaign treated her, she would have had a pretty good "out," but she apparently doesn't see it that way. If she had seen McCain the way I do, she would not have run with him in the first place…I doubt she'll run for another office anyway…why would she put herself through that again? "Kingmaker" works.
I think she's a patriotic politician, but the operative word is politician

A promise is a promise and Sarah Palin is loyal ….Give her a break already!
My vote for Craziest City…
Washington DC
I like Jody Miller, but in this clip she forgot to be funny…
New writers are in order…
I venture to disagree you to some extent. Serious presidential contenders are laying down the foundation for serious White House runs NOW. She isn't doing that. She would need ground games in New Hampshire and Iowa and she's doing a reality TV gig back home in Alaska and continuing her deal at Fox.
What she CAN do is drive the party (GOP) right by lending her name and drawing power to favored conservatives. This side deal for McCain is pure loyalty and payback. Like I said elsewhere – she'll do her litle bit for McCain and get back to doctrinaire conservatives. McCain is obviously not that.
She can be (and is) a powerful voice in GOP politics – she connects with a broad spectrum of previously ignored voters.
Don't under estimate her, that's a common mistake.
Like I said, I'll say again – the FOX gig keeps her in the public and TV veiwer eye. Forget McCain, she can't run with HIM and then IGNORE him a year later.
Hardcores like me will be on every little issue. Most of voting USA is watching "Dancing With the Stars" or whatever right now. They tune out until something is actually happening. Having a conservative woman, a past VicePresidential candidate gives her credibility. We (conservatives) need to reach the "People" magazine set.
Palin does that.
On the contrary.
I do not underestimate her. From 2008 until now, I had reserved opinion. Now I have formed it tonight. She is simply perfecting her craft. Your first paragraph however, made my original argument. She has a deal with FOX, as a political commentator. How can she use the Fair and Balanced Fox Mantra, and support McCain. it is a conflict.
I also agree with you, that she is playing the patronage gig with McCain. She is paying him back, for getting her out of the tundra, into some sunlight. Who knows, next week she might get a gig with Hawaiian Tropic……
I agree.
It is lacking humor.
I don't see the Fox gig as that big a deal. She a contributor, not a studio talking head. She doesn't have a nightly show. Like I said she connects with Moms and Grandmothers and non traditional GOP voters, which needs to expand it's demographic appeal. If she can battle back the MSM of even be shown to be "victimized" by them it helps the GOP and conservatives.
'
Every time the MSNBC's of the world bash her, a Mom with a special needs baby or a Grandmother with a brood of kids identifies with her, she can pick up votes.
It's about WINNING, not purity and personality tests. She draws crowds, she motivates people and that all helps the cause.
Thank you Jamesb, that was a really intelligent and thought out answer. You are so right. I still respect her, even though I don't respect McCain, I understand why she needed to endorse him.
One pig has been dead for 40 plus years, Castro should have never lived to be as old as he is. A Patriot should have shot him years ago.
Today he still enslaves that island.
Yup disgusting. But Penn and Danny Glover, et al – fly in and kiss Castro ass. I'd pull their passports and make 'em defend their views in Federal Court. But I'm an assho'.
Can you imagine if she ran away from him what the MSM would be saying?
She needn't set her schedule to what the criticism might be but a few smile and waves for McCain isn't the end of the world.
In my opinion she is NOT setting up a presidential run. That's a serious thing and she isn't being or acting like a serious candidate.
That said she can exert tremendous influence on the process. That's a good thing imho.
I can't get the video to play. I tried both IE and Firefox. I usually don't have that problem with youtube videos. I see Cincinnati in the tags and comments, so that must be it. I've noticed a lot of Google related stuff has been slow today.
She just signed on to do a reality show with TLC. C'mon, Sara. Have a little dignity, and stick to business. I wanted really badly to like and believe her. But she's spent an awful lot of time cashing in on her 15 minutes. The country is in a hell of a mess right now, and we really need what she could have been. We've had too many "leaders" pandering to the cult of personality. We need someone with substance who will keep his/her nose to the grindstone. And I don't care what McCain did for her. She saw what he was made of on the campaign trail. If she is going to be any better than he is, she has to move on. More to the point, she should have done it already.
You know, I have to say I respect what you wrote and I'll tell you why. People have been complaining about Sarah Palin and calling her names, but no one can ever tell me what it is about her that they don't like. They just bitch. I think you are the first person that has voiced a reason for your dislike. I am not drinking the Palin kool-aid either. Some of her supporters turn me off just like Obama's sheep do. I like some of the things she says, but I certainly don't think she's experienced enough for a presidential run. MAYBE if she had stayed in office.
Just to throw my 2 cents into the ring here,
I like Palin, but I don't worship her or follow every thing she does.
But the GOP has pretty much lost me, they are idiots with my money, Newt Gingrich is an evil Proglodyte, they can't find their a$$ with both hands. AT LEAST Sarah is setting a CONSERVATIVE tone and she get COVERAGE. That ain't bad. Right now the GOP is full of centrist RINOs and Progressives and I can't vote for that again.
I agree with Jamesb that she is paying back what got her out on the national scene. She is building her "Audience". It will be interesting to see what she does with it in the future. If she becomes the new Conservative Oprah, I'll say AMEN to that and be happy.
Keep in mind, Ronnie was a middling actor famous for corny lines and monkey movies. BUt his core beliefs were anti-communist and staunchly pro-American (call it pro street American if you will). He had the audience first, and then got elected Governor of California proving he had the chops to lead. Sarah is closer to him than most anything out there today, like it or not, and she got the Gov gig BEFORE she had an audience.
I do not underestimate her either. I believe she is out in the public testing her metal, and building her base, and refining or distilling her message. I suspect in the future she will become a force to be reconed with.
The unfortunate reality is this. We here in these comments NEED the Dancing With The Stars watching masses to become aware of our better message and basis for governing this nation. And NONE of US has the power to get that message out. Sarah DOES. Somehow we need to pry the govt. teat out of the mouth of the masses and get them back up off their collective a$$es and get them educated as to what we really have going on here.
If not her, then who?
off topic…
What the heck am I doing wrong that I must break my posts into little bites, yet others can post PAGES of prose?
Please forgive any mithpelld or rong werds due to can't edit if there are replies…
GRRRRRRRR…
zmdavid,
Regardless what the video says, DC is clearly the the looniest town in the world, regardless who is in power.
Them folks is plum CRAZY in that town. Both the crowd who works there, and those that live there (which BTW are completely opposite groups often times).
I would have guessed SF – land of fruits, nuts and marxists. Cincy? That's just 30 minutes down the road from me. It's waaaaaay too liberal and quickly becoming the new Detroit.
No doubt, The District of Columbia…………….
Pervert, Kings, QUEEN's, and Princess's abound……
Even a lot of Fairies.
Why do you think the founders kept them out of the Union, and not a state?.
A Cuban friend of mine here in FL told me that they'd get a new pair of sneakers from Castro every spring so they could play baseball. State-issued shoes…this is what Obama and Pelosi "admire" about their agenda?
My ex-father in law was a drafted Chicago Cubs catcher in the late 40s (minor leagues). He said he used to catch when Castro pitched practice games for the Cubs. If Castro had made the Cubs squad, we may never have seen a revolution and instead woulda had Castro rookie cards in our Topps collections.
I think Palin is headed in the right direction. I agree with my pals Jamesb and Cowboy, that Palin can be grating on your nerves, but she's a patriot and a family person with all-American values. She has problems – just as we do.
But let her be the conservative opposite of Oprah. Or the female version of Fox's John Stossel, who i enjoy watching.
I really grimaced when I heard her call McCain a "maverick" again. Gimme a break.
BTW: The "craziest city" news item was just a joke – Jodi was referring to "crazy" people buying Cinci Reds season tickets. It wasn't an actual poll result. Get it?
If you Palin clowns don't jump off the bandwagon then we'll just be handing Barry another 4 years. Sure she'd be nice to look at but… you get the point. She is the GOP's Obama. Put the kool-aid away and let's get ready to rumble in '12.
It's not a "reality show" as we currently understand that term. It is essentialy a documentary about Alaska with Sarah as the host.
Remember, she is a private citizen, no longer a politician (officially), and as such, can do what she wants…..write/ promote her book, guest commentator, documentary host. I was a bit disappointed to see her assist McCain but, given that he helped her out, it demonstrates a degree of loyalty on her part to return the favor. Plus, I'm certain McCain has plenty of allies, liberal and conservative, that would destroy Sarah, and any potential future political aspirations, had she blown off the McCain offer for "assistance"
DavidMontgomery, I just made a comment that I think you might like on the Rahe article, "America and Israel: Tick, Tock. I had to lose some of the "thumbs up" it was given right away, because my browser continually freezes up and loses my comments before they are finished. When I finally get back to the correct page, either my comment is totally gone or it is there, unedited and incomplete.
I am not the only one having this problem over and over and over. Internet Explorer and Intense Debate do not work well together, and the best advice I've been given by the ID team and other users is to switch to Firefox. Haven't done that, but am considering it.
By the way, I understand your frustration at the post length issue. Those who ARE able to post longer comments are understandably hesitant to give directions in these comments, as the Marxist trolls would post neverending jibber. If we had another way, w/o revealing too much personal info…Alas…
My thoughts exactly.
I agree.
Newsbusted should be on some weekly conservative comedy show facing off with Saturday Night Live. They, SNL, know they are a liberal slant (which they are free to be), lets have a conservative slanted version. I bet it would seriously challenge SNL in the Ratings………Come on FOX….You kicked their butts in the news arena, now do it with a no hold bars conservative comedy show
Newsbusted is great!!!!!
Microsoft is Communist……Just like Norton anti-virus, Internet Explorer is old and has controlled the market for decades.. do away with IE, only use as a backup.
I use Google Chrome, faster and more user friendly. Only Google is just as Communist as Microsoft.
LEFT – WACCO – Companies
Jody Miller should be White House Press Secretary.
At lease we would be laughing at here JOKES everyday, vs Having to laugh at what the stupid responses the Current Press Secretary wants the American Public to believe .
There is no way of Comparing Shara to Obumbo.
She cleaned up corruption and threw the Crook Republicans out of office and she speaks Common Sense VALUES vs. Obama lies, each and every time he talks EVERYday and has Created an Organized Crime Unit called ACORN & SEIU.
San Fransicko
Sheepol
Right, jokes should at least make ya smile….
CL
I think you're way funnier…
TR
I love it when someone agrees with me….
CL
I thought you were pretty tough on her..
While she is not of "high Obama intellect", I would take one Sarah over 1000 "corrupt community dis- organizers", who know everything, just ask him…
Well.
To quote the illustrious Joe "The Comic" Biden, "This is a BIG F**king Deal". I agree. This is not the minor leagues. If she wants to play in this arena, she ought best get her act together, and drop the kitschy schtick. People misread me on her. I evidently have not articulated my thoughts clearly enough.
First and foremost, I respect her. I voted for her and the old insane guy.
Second, I think she has great energy. She is charismatic, and has revitalized the party.
That is where my positives end. She just "UN-sold" me yesterday, by shilling for McLame.
fter the way the McLame camp treated her, and trashed her after the election, if she had the spunk she wants everyone to believe, then when McLame called her, to ask for her to support him, if she had balls, she would NOT have taken his call. You have figured by now I am not a McCain fan. He is an entrenched, professional hack, He has not authored one worthwhile piece of legislation. He needs to go. He is a major part of the problem. She has yet to show me anything since the election.
I would have thought more of her, if she supported JD Hayworth.
Lastly, maybe its because I'm a rancher, but if I hear one more time "Send the MAVERICK back to Washington" I think I'll puke big chunks of rare meat………
Come on! Are you serious? Nothing against her but we have to do better than that. OK, so she rankled some feathers in the GOP establishment in Alaska. Good. I'm sure they deserved it. There is too much at stake to leave it up to her. We need a real candidate with some real expierence. (who? I don't know, yet)
Love Newsbusted. And Jody Miller is another conservative hotty.. Yeah, I agree that she and her crew should do a Conservative version of SNL. So what do you say there Fox?
CL
I got all that from yesterdays rant…love the passion..
But, that's how bad Obama is, anybody practical, with an ounce of common sense, looks good by comparison..
JD is good on border issues so that good enough for me..
.McLame will lose this time…
I feel he will loose.
He can go to work for wifey Cindy, driving a beer truck at the brewery.
Good Lord, I just had a chill. That means darlin' daughter Meghan will enter the fray…………..
TxRancher,
Agreed.
If she is in it for the money, fine, I am a staunch capitalist. But if she keeps involving herself in the heavy politics, she clearly must be doing it because she love and believes in America.
I for one am glad she does, as my other posts point out, SOMEBODY who can get media attention needs to be saying true CONSERVATIVE messages to counter the the progressive socialist crap spewing from every other mouth.
Why on earth would the woman choose to put her family through another flame-up of the misery to which they have been subjected? She could write another SINGLE book and make more money than she could the rest of her life in politics.
If she chooses to venture further into politics, it is surely because she is a patriot or loves power.
I would place my bet on "patriot."
<DIV>No, see, what I mean when I say \”politician\” has little to do with actual power-seeking….I think the climate in DC is so corrupt that it ruins what often starts out as people who really intend to help…By \”politician\” I mean those who intend to make a career out of what they may initially believe is \”public service.\”(how many actual \”good\” ones change once they get there?)</DIV> <DIV>The system and the \”handlers\” convince them to say whatever it takes to get elected, which begins the process of compromising anything that may actually be called \”ideals\” or, for that matter, patriotism…Then, it's a pretty cushy job with outstanding pay, benefits, and perks…and the process continues once they get there…then, they either do what my brother calls \”buying their own hype,\” or they are corrupted by what they perceive as actual \”power.\”</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>\”Draining the swamp\” will be impossible until we eliminate crony capitalism, and lobbyists, because DC itself corrupts too many of them. Obama is the exception to this…he's definitely after the power..But Nancy Pelosi? I think somehow she feels some pressure as the first ever woman Speaker to prove that she can muscle things as well as the boys. I despise the woman, but, frankly, I just don't believe she's bright enough to realize how much damage she is doing.

Well, I appreciate your assistance. Just realize, though, that Google and a whole bunch of other U.S. companies were hit last year (many between Dec.- Jan.) with the most attack ever used against a non-government entity. A first.
Even now, the most brilliant technological minds, throughout the world, are focused on locating and defeating "untraceable" software that they know was most likely placed within those company's servers, computers, etc.
And it was done by our "Landlords," the Chinese Government.
So, we can all rest easy knowing that a few keystrokes from China may separate us from our only legitimate source of news and communication.
At this point, with all the videos of Obama, his clan, and Dems, available for people to SEE their prior Talk & actions, and IF PALIN or "MICKEY Mouse" can't win in 2012 to Oust OBUMBO, then we are in the SEWER and then WHO CARES. Any Common Sense Person should bet Obumbo.
There is NO ONE…"NO ONE" in Washington or in Politics that WE should TRUST. THE GOP is CRAP. DEMS are SCUM. We are infiltrated too deep now by Socialist/Communist/Marxist, (any ISTs), (even Politicians in bed with World Corporations) because of the last 4 decades +, of brainwashing our kids and letting the Minority Crazies Run Wild. We have 60's Radicals now in SUITS with confirmation from the MSM running our lives.
Nov. 2010 is the calling. IF the PEOPLE are not awake and don't do a CLEAN SWEEP in NOV, this country will not have a 2012 presidential election.
This then, will cause a REVOLUTION in the streets by 2011 or because of all the DEBT, CHAOS will run WILD. Don't forget, their are many Socialistic run countries that are in worst shape then the United States, and when these FALL before US, because of DEBT, it will trigger Obama to implement Marshall Law.
I'm probably listed in the phone book, as others, (close your Eyes and point on a page) that could turn this Country around in 2 years. But again it won't happen. A REVOLUTION will have to happen to save the Constitution and our Country.
You know what they say in Texas.
If ya cain't be good in bed, at least be funny……………
WHAT!!!??? I never heard that said in Texas!!!
Maybe that's because it didn't apply? LOL
THAT MAVERICK LINE HAS GOT TO GO!!!
I agree with you, Cowboy, it's gotten so much repetition, it makes me sick.
At first, I was disappointed in Palin's campaigning for McCain after the way his bunch treated her. However, on second thought, I think she is crafty enough to set aside personal grievances in return for the national platform she will have while doing it. It's sort of like she is running, and he is just standing there.
Hahaha….now, Drifter, don't tell me your sweet wife doesn't agree with you all the time.
After all, she quotes you in her bio blurb.
T-ranch
I only agree with him when he's right.
I told him NOT to change the Avatar…But does he listen?
Well, NO….
LOL. What sort of response have you gotten to the new avatar?
His new one is a bit hard to make out.
TexRanch
No one has noticed that I changed mine, I saw another woman with the same LOL avatar and I didn't want to be a copy cat , so I changed it….Same old me …different hair- doo We're following Lorbens lead…
Drifter's new avatar is the movie logo for the HPD movie.circa 1972…Still awesome to watch after almost 40 years..
Love the avenging angel/ghost angle…
I noticed! Unlike HiPD, yours is an actual upgrade. Loved the old one, love this one more. Wish Lorben hadn't changed. Registered my complaint with both… And yes HPD is still a great movie.
Keep up the great posts! Your voice is needed here…
GF
TR- DON"T change your avatar! Brings a smile to my face every time I see it! Only thing from Texas I don't care for (that I'm aware of) is them damned Dallas Cowboys!
Bear man, GaltFan…
Out…
Can't really argue with most of your post. Back to the original sticking point. Palin is the answer?
Okay, not Sarah, but then WHO??? Seriously, who? There ain't a damned one in the party that has the goods and the cred to win. Romney? Huckabee? Newt?
God, are we in deep, deep shit…
Both your avatars are cool. Did you see the trivia about Clint Eastwood that someone posted a couple of days ago? How he got started in the movies? If not, I'll tell you what they said.
I noticed someone a while back, had begun using an avatar similar to mine. Haven't noticed it lately, so I hope they changed it.
That was certainly nice. I'm sure she will appreciate that.
Tex
No, didn't see the Clint trivia.. waiting impatiently—We love most of his stuff, not all
I just saw a poster with the same one ( avatar) as yours—-.I thought it was you !
Obviously a guy from Oklahoma..He- he
Well, that sorta ticks me off. Where did you see that guy? Article?
Let me find the Clint trivia. Sorry, but I want to get it right.
Probably be tomorrow.
Thanks, GaltFan. I won't change it. But I will take a gander at the hombre who is using it.
I am glad it makes you smile, too. I never thought of its doing that for someone else.
Let's don't talk about those guys in blue and silver then!
I'm a supporter of Bobby Jindal. He doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of getting the nomination but I think he would be the best at leading us out of our economic malaise. Plus I think it would be fun to see the media try to tear him down. He is the real pillar of society that they pretend Barry to be.
ChiTown,
Bobby is an up and coming star. I can just imagine "BJ" and "tea-bagger" in the same lame media sentence. Not an answer, but I do hope to see him rise to prominence soon. Definitely an accomplished person. Zero chance at the nomination since he hasn't kissed the ring. Again, we seem to be f#@&ed…
Whoever it may be, hold their feet to the fire…
Yea, it doesn't look good. Unfortunately Barry running the country into the ground is our only hope. I know it is an oxymoron but we need to die to live. I agree we need to hold whoever wins the nomination to account. It is sad that the media doesn't do the same to The One. Only time will tell.
OK, LOL and HPD, I FINALLY have your Clint Eastwood trivia for you.
Clint Eastwood weighed 11 pounds 6 ounces when he was born. (Poor mom. Bet she was a diabetic.) He is 6'2" and will celebrate his 80th (!!!) birthday on May 31, 2010.
He was working as a lifeguard in Seattle, when he was drafted into the military. While on leave, his plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean, and Clint swam three miles to shore. Consequently, he was made boot camp swimming instructor and missed out on action in Korea
He was encouraged to try out acting by two of his Army buddies – (You're not gonna believe this) David Janssen ("The Fugitive") and Martin Milner ("Route 66").
He did and went to work making B movies for $75/week. He was cut loose when the studio execs decided his Adam's apple was too big (HAHAHAHA – probably a Lib.).
He worked digging swimming pools between playing bit parts here and there. He was spotted by a CBS exec, while visiting a friend on set, and he was cast as cattle driver, Rowdy Yates, in the long-running western series "Rawhide" (1959). That led to spaghetti stardom in a string of Sergio Leone westerns, beginning with 1964's "A Fistful of Dollars."
And the rest, as they say, is history.
TR
Hey , thanks for that trivia…CE is an amazing man vis a vis Hollywood…Most of his stuff is down the line Conservative…But HighPlainsDrifter always brings a tear to the eye…. for the Avenging Angel quality..good vs evil…
"chick with no name"..
Out..
Thanks. By the way, your NP avi was right on target though.
LOL, can you tell me if you see that Okie using my avatar again?
LOL – I think I came across the duplicate avi. Seems to be a conservative from the Glenn Beck's 912 site.
