A girl flees from her home in fear for her life – and law enforcement goes after the people who helped her. That’s the situation in the Rifqa Bary case.

The Columbus Dispatch reported this about Rifqa’s friend Brian Williams:
An Ohio minister accused of driving a teenage runaway to a bus station last year has retained a lawyer as police say they’re investigating whether anyone broke the law in helping the Christian convert leave home for Florida.
And why did she flee to Florida? Because, she says, when her devout Muslim father found out she had become a Christian, he said to her, “I will kill you.” And with Islam’s death penalty for apostates, she had to take that seriously. But her father is not in danger of being prosecuted. Brian Williams is.
Law enforcement, in a perverse twist of reality, continues persecuting the Christians in Ohio who helped a teenage apostate escape the death threat (in line with sharia law) made by her family. They are investigating any “criminal wrongdoing with anyone involved in getting her from one location to another.”
How many other runaway cases are pursued in the way? How many other teenage girls in America have this attention paid to them by law enforcement? How many teenage girls who sell their bodies for sex and drugs for an adult pimp are pursued this way? Or their pimps?
Back on January 19, Rifqa Bary was tricked into pleading guilty to the charge of being “unruly” in exchange for a dependency deal that the Bary parents and their CAIR-appointed attorney later reneged on. And now we understand why CAIR demanded a guilty plea from Rifqa in exchange for this meaningless deal: the Franklin County, Ohio, prosecutor, under pressure from CAIR, is seeking to indict Brian Williams on two charges: contributing to the “unruliness” of a minor and “interference with custody,” which carries a sentence of six months to a year.
Brian Williams allegedly drove Rifqa to the bus station, and this makes him a criminal? This amounts to the enforcement of sharia in America. Law enforcement is obviously capitulating to the pressure of Islamic infiltrators.
The impending arrest of the courageous Brian Williams is proof of the incompetence of Rifqa Bary’s legal team. If the Islamic death penalty for apostasy were explained in court in light of Rifqa’s situation, the Franklin County prosecutor would not pursue Brian Williams. Instead Rifqa’s legal team urged him to plead guilty to these outrageous charges at enormous personal expense. Who are they working for? CAIR?

They are wrong. Williams should not plead it down. Why should Brian Williams have a record for helping Rifqa? Yet the dhimmi media is right there reinforcing this outrage, like the cheering crowds at the gallows. The sharia-compliant Columbus Dispatch ran this headline over the AP story about Williams’ retaining counsel: “Minister accused of aiding Rifqa Bary retains lawyer.” “Accused.” As if aiding Rifqa Bary were a crime. Implying guilt. Who wouldn’t retain a lawyer if he were advised that he was going to be arrested? The Dispatch implies a taint. It insinuates that Williams has done something wrong. Would the AP reporter, Andrew Welsh-Huggins, or the Dispatch not retain a lawyer if they were advised of their imminent arrest?
Welsh-Higgins also writes: “The girl claimed she could be harmed or killed for converting to Christianity, a charge her parents, immigrants from Sri Lanka, have denied.” The girl “claimed” — got that? Everything that the unindicted co-conspirators at the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the lawyer they chose for Rifqa’s parents is reported as gospel. But a young girl terrified for her life whose words are supported by the sharia mandate of death for apostasy only makes “claims.”
What kind of nation, what kind of society are we living in where someone who helps a girl whose life is in danger is prosecuted for it? An Islamic one.

Not so fast, buster.
I am proud to say that Robert Spencer and I were able to connect Brian Williams with the Thomas More Law Center. The Thomas More Law Center will be representing Brian Williams pro bono. The Islamic supremacists pursuing Rifqa Bary and the Christians who helped her will be met with a vigorous freedom-of-religion defense.
What wonderful news that, as he is prosecuted, Brian Williams will be defended by legal counsel who understand that this is enforcement of sharia and are unafraid to fight the oppression and intimidation of the Islamic machine. This is in contrast to Rifqa’s lawyers, who have naively made numerous back-door deals with her parents’ CAIR-appointed attorney. Every underhanded, dirty deal that Rifqa Bary’s lawyers made with the attorney for her parents was broken.
Why should CAIR be able to use our judicial system to send a message to non-Muslims that they will be punished for helping a Christian? Brian Williams, and Rifqa Bary, must prevail. If the Islamic machine succeeds in making an example of them, we are all in trouble.

Pamela,
Good article.
I have followed this story with interest. You are correct in that the dhimmi media has aided and abetted these Islamofascists. Should they prevail against Mr. Williams, we are all in trouble.
According to the Koran, this young lady is equivalent to only 1/2 a man, an apostate, (because of her conversion to Christianity) and the penalty for apostacy is death. Sharia Law incorporates these tenets. Additionally, she is deemed to have brought dishonor upon her family. There is an even and uglier penalty for this transgression, that she is to be killed by a member or extended member of the family. And they can also execute her under the sentence of apostacy.
Miss Bary has the absolute right of liberty within the confines of this nation. She has an absolute right to choose her religious beliefs. Her rights cannot be diminished for any reason. She has the absolute right to be free of Islam, and its death sentence upon her.
You are right. Further and beyond that, to complicate the issue, it is now a matter of an "honor killing" to preserve the family name and honor. This little kid is toast.
Your second paragrapd summed this up. Under our Constitution, this girl has the absolute right to choose her religious beliefs, or lack thereof. Furthermore, she has the right to be safe and secure.
Unfortunately, many will refuse to believe that what Miss Bary says is almost certainly true. Her life is in danger. I'm afraid people won't wake up her danger even after news comes that a male relative killed her to erase the family shame.
It's sickening too that the media can't be bothered to report on this story beyond accusing a young girl of lying and apparently accusing a Christian minister of … something, but rest assured when they decide what it is, it'll be bad. That is the narrative: Christian=evil, Islam=oppressed victim.

I live in the small town where this girl is from. I really don't want to find her body while fishing my favorite stream – there have already been plenty of examples of so called 'honor' killings – she should NOT be sent back if she fears for her life.

Christians are under attack all over the world so it is not surprising this crap is here too. Look at killings in Africa, in Egypt and on and on.
What can we do to help Rifqa? I mean really, really help? Are there lawyers able to volunteer to help her? Would letters to the courts help? There must be some way for us to mobilize. Instead of WWJD (what would Jesus do), we should ask what would the Muslims do? I know the Muslims are united to destroy her – we've got to fight back
I am aware of this case from my father, a retired FBI agent. Because of the Clinton/Reno imposed 'wall' between criminal divisions and intel divisions of the Bureau the agents could do nothing but listen (they were on an intel stakeout, calling the police would have been, under the rules at the time, illegal). As I understand it, the tapes did manage to get into the proper hands somehow so the animal could be taken down.
I find it interesting that if a teen these days went to any teacher of adult and complained they were being abused, DSHS would be down their throats in a matter of hours. But if you are a Muslim parent you are protected…… add in the element of a Christian in the mix and they are the ones guilty? We have come to a very sick and twisted perspective in our country…Sharia Law is creeping in folks and if it isn't nipped in the bud here soon it will take us over in less than thirty years.
Yup. And, if she does get forced to go back, and does get killed, the Yellow Stream Media will find some way to dodge responsibility and hide the murder.
[...] » In Rifqa Bary Case, Dhimmi Media Cheers on Sharia Law in Ohio … [...]
Not just Christians under attack. You, at least, get the chance to pay jizya. I am under a sentence of death, being neither Christian, nor Jew.
If you have any doubts about this post, please read anything, ANYTHING written by Emir or Ergon Caner. Both converted from Islam to become Southern Baptist evangelists. If I am not mistaken, they are from Ohio as well. I've seen them both speak at my church, multiple times; they are very strong men of God. And they are able to say in explicit detail what it is like to convert from Islam. To this day, their life is endangered.
You are so right Lorben, DCFS here would be send a team out within minutes! How in the heck did THIS get soooo far? We've been reading about these situations and then it seems they fall out of sight -
There is another precedent being set with this case as the target of prosecution turns to the pastor and other Christians, that has greater implications:
-Since when can a pastor be charged with anything when their assistance is needed to shelter a victim or anyone seeking sanctuary from violence and threats? Will this be used against churches when a wife flees an abusive husband (regardless of religious beliefs) or a teen who has been molested or raped. Will a pastor be less inclined to help the misfortunate, regardless of age because of a backlash from a lawsuit?
This case could provide a backdoor into regulating the reach and boundaries of any church, if the reasons prove to interfere with someone else's freedom -even if they are the abuser.
Gotta hand it to the Muslims- they sure know how to twist our laws and deteriorate the system from within, all in the name equality, racism and usually playing the role of victim.
The sad thing about the coverage is that, if she had run away from home to get an abortion, the media would be trumpeting Brian Williams' courage and devotion to the well-being of this child for getting her out of state.
Its the PC attitude that is infecting our government. It makes me ill just how quick a Gov agency can come against a Christian group for whatever reason…its gonna get worse if the pendulum doesn't swing…..
Pamela, I am a lawyer with experience representing defendants in criminal law matter and civil rights matters. Although I am in Mississippi, there may be some small way in which I can help. I am offering my assistance, for whatever it is worth. Is there any contact information that people like me should be aware of?
If the young lady is into public speaking, it would be great to hear from her at CPAC.
One small change to your words – 'usually playing the role of victim' – how about ALWAYS playing that role! I'm sick to death of this ugly horrid way of life taking over this country.
Let's send all the non-citizen Muslims back to thw Islamic world. We don't need them, we don't want them. Go home Muslims. Goodbye.
Good luck to Minister Williams, and keep Bary in your thoughts and prayers.
This is starting to sound like the system created to help the Jews just before and during WWII.
I'm sure that if she can remain apart from her family, when she turns 18 she can legally change her name and live far away from them. No way I would consider her doomed yet.
It's going to swing back and very soon.
Assistance to Rifaq Barry should include training and certification with firearms and relocating her to a conceal-carry state when she turns 18. I believe she has the spirit and backbone to defend herself with deadly force should it come to that. She can set a shining example for all of the other apostates of this medieval death cult parading as a religion.
I for one would like to know the intentions of the parents. Why not dress up a girl like Rifqa and "give her back to them". See how they would really react. Probably they would steal her back to Sri Lanka to deal with her there.
The worst of it is that such police actions are hindering the reporting of abusive parents. If the cops don't back up the abused, who will?
Teachers and some clergy are considered mandatory reporters of abuse, even emotional abuse. So what happens when a girl runs to a church for shelter? Does the minister report it, knowing the cops will just return the child to her abusive home?
And knowing he will be prosecuted for sheltering her?
I hope Thomas More gets this case straightened out soon.
No. I haven't. I'll check it out.
Give me a synopsis. Was it worth the time to read it?
Typical misguided garbage from the world famous hate monger Pamela Geller.
I like that analogy. There is a fourth box you forgot to mention.

How can helping a child from abusive parents, threats of death, be a crime?
Here a Dhimmi, there a Dhimmi, Everywhere a Dhimmi..
Amazing how stupid people can be. Maybe we should give the people who want to defend the Shari'a Law loving individuals of Ohio, a Shari'a Law 101 lesson, how Dhimmi's are considered second class citizens with all Muslim's, if not having their heads cut off first.
You're an idiot.
This whole issue is so much bigger than the msm and the secularists can comprehend. Rifqa Bary is a courageous defender of the true faith and from what I have read of her direct comments, most interested in witnessing to a lost and dying world about Jesus than she is worried about her personal safety. It appears to me that she knows her God, is more than able to defend her against all enemies. I urge all of you who are followers of Jesus to keep her in your prayers and for you skeptics, agnostics and even unbelievers … listen to what she has to say and consider its truth.
Went there. Read it. Blah. Does nothing to refute Pamela.
Well Jess, it was important enough for you to take the time to comment on it.
I believe that she is 17 years old. If only the whole case can be stalled until she is 18, then by US law she would be an adult and her family could claim no right to interfere with her life. All the same, she would still probably have to go into hiding for the rest of her life, or until this country decides to not put up with Sharia law anymore and deports everyone who holds to it.
Excellent flow chart.
Too true.
Jess, you slyly berate a young girl for converting to a faith of Love and Light, but you are still exposed as part of Islamic hatred, which results in so much evil worldwide now.
You are part of the problem.
The insidious nature of Sharia with its tentacled hegemony starts in the muslim home, where it is secretly practiced. When it moves into a liberal democracy is also when stark comparisons can be elucidated. FREE Rafka Bary! She is the cause of the moment and it is up to us to publicize and broadcast her case. Each of us, YES–US, have DUTY to provide for USA-First Amendment Freedom of Religion defense with all the short, smart, Jewish lawyers that this case can handle!

I've read Bailaman's post and it's irrelevent. Sri Lanka has some lovely tourist sites. No argument. So do a lot of other places that have racial, ethnic or religious strife. Nothing that he wrote contradicts that her parents threatened to kill her for converting from Islam, and that she has legitimate fears for her life. If taking up the cause of this child makes Pamela Geller a "hate monger," then what do you call the Moslem Brotherhood front organization (CAIR) that seeks to subvert the US political order and establish a Sharia state in which non-Muslims are subjected to dhimmitude?
What is misguided about it exactly? Are you saying there aren't honor killings by Muslims in the United States? Or that for some reason you have knowledge that this particular girl's parents and extended family are completely harmless? You know somehow for a fact her father never threatened her? If you were a young girl raised in the religion where death is the punishment for converting to Christianity, and you converted to Christianity, you wouldn't worry about it? Please explain.
This does nothing to refute anything that Mrs. Geller said. Fact is, her father wants to kill her.
Agreed. And at some point we must come face to face with the fact that Islam is a worldwide organization whose intent it is to rule the world and enforce their beliefs on all. Since the 7th century their "religion" has been spread by the sword and all other means they could use to defeat their enemies. They have no interest in peaceful co-existence and that is the crux of the matter.
Take a few minutes and make whatever small contribution you can to the Thomas More Law Center. They do so much good for people in dire need of legal help, and your contribution is tax-deductible.
It's Islam. Women and children are property.
She has legal help. Pam's opinion and rightly so, it's not been the best available. Rifqa's legal team has been offered help should they pursue the "Apostate" strategy but has decided not to and declined the help.
I doubt the pastor will make the same mistake, he seems to have the right support.
The fight is on, probably the best you can do is contact the Columbus Journal and take them to task for their reporting.
At 18 without proper immigration status, she is at risk of deportation. Her legal team has been able to "run out the clock" the next trial date is set after her birthday. But they have failed to secure the proper immigration status which puts here at risk and with the current justice department, who knows.
Keep saying that, Phillep! Keep saying it. Me, too. I keep telling everyone on this topic it's not just Christians and Jews, buddy! I won't even get a trial if it ever comes to that! The religion of my parents and grandparents is all but gone in the continent it originated from. Guess why? Islam! (Luckily, It has survived and thrived in non-Islamic countries.)
To semi-paraphrase a not-so-great-philosopher, "I will stand with the Christian and Jews when the political winds shift in an ugly direction…."
I am utterly shocked at the stupidity of this column, and the universal cheerleading in favor of it.
An underage teenager said she was afraid of her parents, so an unrelated adult helped her to leave the state. Gee, where have I heard this scenario before? Oh yeah, pro abortion people use it all the time as an excuse to pass anti-parental notification laws. A girl gets pregnant, tells a teacher she's afraid her parents will "kill her," and the teacher helps her seek an abortion without the parent's knowledge.
This is EXACTLY the same scenario. I would worry for the girl too, but this preacher was 100% wrong (and if he helped my daughter to leave the state he better get a bodyguard instead of a lawyer).
Morality doesn't change based on the scenario. Right is right, and an adult helping to undermine a family by advising a child to run away from home should ABSOLUTELY be prosecuted. If he was truly afraid she was in danger, then he should have notified the authorities. The second he decided to take a hand in her running away from home, he became a criminal.
She is an illegal alien at 18, at risk of deportation. Her legal team failed to secure her a proper immigration status
Ohio is a conceal carry state. I am sure New Albany Gun club could train her pretty quick. One thing, she is an illegal alien once she turns 18. That is what needs to be fixed first.
Your not a parent I take it or do you think these people are stupid? Stop watching TV, it is rotting your brain.
Jess, are you really that dumb or do you get paid to pretend to be that dumb? Either way, I think you are on the wrong site and especially on the wrong thread if you are going to say anything nasty about Ms. Geller.
You may wish to view "Jihad Jane's" myspace or youtube pages to find people who agree with your philosophies or ideologies.
Last time I checked Ms. Geller was doing the work of ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN combined.
So what is it you wish us to learn? That Sri Lanka is a nice place to visit or what exactly? That you can parse words of some dumb, fat white guy? What? And what does this have to do with the article?
Drive by hit and run, it doesn't work anymore, you need to state your case and not post a bunch of garbage links?
Are we ignorant about Rifqa's conversation?
Are we ignorant about honor killings?
If you are to lazy too contribute, then don't post!
I am reminded of the Kitty Genovese case of 1964, where a stabbing and rape were perpetrated, resulting in death of the victim, but citizens who were aware of the event as it was transpiring, failed to intervene, other than calling the cops. There are many explanations, since it was around 3 in the morning, and her cries for help were not necessarily deemed in the category of dire emergency.
A lot of studies were made after that, to get to the bottom of why people suddenly default into paralysis mode when confronted by a violent scene. A new phenomenon, labeled "Bystander Effect" came into popularity.
Related to this, because many lawyers take on any case that looks profitable, "Good Samaritan" laws were passed in all 50 states and DC, to protect the rights of citizens who intervene where they perceive that harm to a fellow citizen is imminent.
It's taking me awhile to relate this to the Rifqa Bary case, but I think that Brian Williams acted justifiably in moving to help Rifqa. He perceived her in danger, and responded as any concerned human being would do. In my mind, his response falls under the hubris of the "Good Samaritan" laws.
Another possible way for Rifqa to wriggle out of this might be to declare herself "emancipated". I and many others would happily offer her a paying job, which might tend to circumvent the dependency rules which shroud her case. The only reason the state has control is because she is considered a dependent. Many young people of 16 or 17 leave their homes, take jobs, and basically move into the adult world. Close to home, this argument was employed in a situation where a minor child was believed to have left his mother's domicile and became self sustaining, while at the same time asking for support payments.
You've heard about the courageous young investigators who covertly videotaped officials of ACORN advocating illegal activities.
Now, get ready for an undercover exposé even more daring — a six-month penetration of the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations that resulted in the collection of thousands of pages of smoking-gun documents from this terror-supporting front group for the dangerous, mob-like Muslim Brotherhood.
This is what Muslim Mafia delivers.
It has all the elements of a top-flight mystery novel, but the situations and conversations are real. The book's frightening allegations are supported by more than 12,000 pages of confidential CAIR documents and hundreds of hours of video captured in an unprecedented undercover operation.
This trail of information reveals the seditious and well-funded efforts of the Brotherhood under the nonprofit guise of CAIR to support the international jihad against the U.S.
Follow intern Chris Gaubatz as he courageously gains the trust of CAIR's inner sanctum, working undercover as a devoted convert to Islam, and blows the whistle on the entire factory fueling the wave of homegrown terrorism now plaguing America.

From an article in American Thinker dated March 26, 2006 :
“Death for apostacy is part and parcel of Islamic scripture and tradition.”
“There is also a consensus by all four schools of Sunni Islamic jurisprudence (i.e., Maliki, Hanbali, Hanafi, and Shafi'i), as well as Shi'ite jurists, that apostates from Islam must be put to death.”

If only she had said she was running away from her father to have an abortion. Then she would have had the right to run away as young as 12. Instead, she's months away from being a legal adult and cannot be trusted to make her own decisions about her *ACTUAL* safety. NOW should be all over this. Why is it only liberal causes bring them out, and not genuine oppression of women? I'd call them hypocrites, but stating the obvious demeans us all.
Actually, I believe in honor killing myself, although I firmly believe I have better judgment, target acquisition and aim. If someone raped my daughter or other member of my family, there damn sure could be an honor killing, one that would guarantee that particular offender would not offend again.
I just don't get the Koran way of doing things. So, by their logic, if while under Sharia law, my car gets stolen and abused, I 1. recover the car, 2. bash it with a tire iron and then set fire to it to avenge my family's honor? Huh, OK, I'll have to study that one.
Perhaps we should put the question to Koranaphiles this way: So, if your son was kidnapped and beaten, and possibly sexually assaulted, what should happen? Should we burn your son to avenge your honor, or should we find who did it and severely punish them for their transgression? Or what about the car example I cited above? I know women are chattel, so how's about we round up the offenders instead of setting fire to your family asset (ya know, female kitchen help) and punish them for damaging your dishwasher? Are you with me? C'mon.
Hahaha what a piece of crap article. Oh the Muslims are going to get you Christians! Have fun beating your own wifes in your trailer parks though. Grrr, 5 million Muslims in America means…..DUN DUN DUN ISLAMIC MAJORITY!
This is a total crock. Britain has gone so far overboard with the Islam rubbish, Sharia law is in place in many parts of Britain. It is destroying the British culture and heritage at a rapid pace. Is this what Americans want? If not, then stand up and be heard.
This girl is allowed protection from abuse and/or murder. It appears the cops are just plain stupid or scared. Either way, their investigation is flawed. I speak from experience as a former detective. Also, the father issued a threat of death which in fact is considered "assault". Where are the charges against him? I am totally outraged at the unbridled ignorance of law enforcement in this case.
As for CAIR…they can go pound sand.
Its still disgusting that they could do nothing to save her life!
Or blame the victim!
Yea I'm a detective too and I know stuffs as well. You should totally believe me because I'm on the internets.
Christians need to resurrect the idea of the Underground Railroad and assist these victims of Islamic intimidation and death threats.
When are people going to stop sleep walking and wake upto the terrible theat Islam poses to our world. It is a medieval mindset with billions of petro dollars at its disposal and soon to have nuclear weapons. May God help us as our politicians certainly will not.

Sri Lanka looks like a nice place so why don't Rifqa's parents leave her here and go back there, and take their Sharia with them, where they will be very happy.
Muslims will have to accommodate us in the West when they come here. We have to accommodate them when we go there. According to Sharia law we should have beheaded the Gitmo detainees a long time ago. We have been too kind.
.
In St. Louis we had a father stab his daughter to death in their bathtub while the FBI listened in…
Same thing, she did not want to be Muslim anymore, too modern. her brother helped her Dad kill her, and her mom too I think.
Don't think this Christian teenager has much of a chance really.
Her dad has 70 virgins waiting for him and everyday she lives she is a blemish of shame on his
manhood per the Koran and the great Fake Prophet Morehammed.
My question is do the Muslims care if one of their 70 Virgins is their own murdered
daughter when they get to heaven or does the creator of the Universe(flowers & life & such) only
reserve non-related virgins for their devouration of innocence? (why do Muslims find such joy
at the thought of deflowering a young lady?)
Just a thought, maybe a Muslim Scholar can research this in their book of Love,
Satan Style-The unholy KORAN.
Use the system, perhaps. Get her into a battered women's shelter, if there are any local.
Brother, have you read "Muslim Mafia"? The whole CAIR organization has infiltrated our government… no surprise. I read it while we were on vacation in Mexico last Thanksgiving.
Americans need to be firm and support Brian and Rifaq in the face of this onslaught from radical Islamism. Her story must be front and center on every news, cable, and print media in this country. One thing they don't like is the constant attention focused on them. Turn up the lights.
Its time to remove these trouble making bastards from our country. Some may think we are not capable of doing so. Americans will put with a limited amount of this crap, and then the shit will hit the fan.
It's only a crime in this upside down world of political correctness where good is bad and bad is good. PC is killing us as a society. I pray to God that we survive it.

in Florida the DCFS would have ignored this girl! They are inept workers, not trained to do anything right and thousands of innocent children fall through the cracks…just goes to show that, if the government is involved, nothing gets done right!
If Obama has his way you won't be fishing in that stream again!! I hope this child is safe…
This is America. The country was based on religious freedom; perhaps the citizens in AMERICA should be standing up for what our government/media/courts will not. I would have done everything possible to help this girl. People need to educate themselves to what this 'religion of peace' does to their women. Husbands cutting off the noses and features of their wives for punishment; 'honor' killings. If a non-Muslim did this, it would be an outrage. Hiding behind your 'faith' is cowardly…of but then, isn't that what they really are? Unmanly cowards???
How does everyone forget that a man took an underage girl away from her parents. This is a crime. Likewise, the parents should issue death threats. BOTH sides are wrong. What kind of minister abets kidnapping/runaways. I am a Christian. I am a conservative. I agree that the parents should be held accountable, but so should the minister. Sure pimps and underage prostitutes should be incriminated too. Just because one person breaks the law, does NOT mean that another can. Just because George Bush's administration helped ballon the government and decificit, does not mean it is ok for the 2006 and on Democrats to continue the same. Let's stand up for whats right, not for what just demeans our rivals.
I wil await my thumbs down I guess?
I concur completely. Well said! This isn't about conservatives/liberals. Or Dems/Repubs. Or socialism/capitalism. This is about bad parents and an unethical minister. What kind of minister does such a thing?
Romans 13:1 Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. 3 For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; 4 for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 5 Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience' sake. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing.
Obey the will of God and the Law of the Land.
Why should any of what is going on surprise anyone, we live in a country that is being run by people that do not know what the constitution says nor do they understand it and when they create a law that goes against constitutional orders they fall back on using 20 century definitions and terminology to declare the constitution is a living document subject to the interpetations of those in power. Where as honest representatives would be more inclined to use common sense and the 18th century definitions and terminology to not only strenghten constitutional orders but also to keep such offenses as what is happening now in Ohio from ever taking place.
How shameful the blatant act of appeasement truely is, the damage it does is one that lingers for generations yet to come.
Please let's all remember to keep Rifqa in our prayers! She is extremely isolated
and this has to be an emotional roller coaster ride.
Pray that the proper and most protective legal representation will shield her from
those who seek to harm her!
Jessy Buddy, I'm sure you voted for your Muslim Comrade, Osama bin Obama. He, like you is after the patriots defending our nation, and an avid wanna-be protector of evil doers who would destroy our Country.
Poor girl. If she had fled to New York claiming she sought a safe and legal abortion, and that her father had threatened to beat her to death for getting pregnant it would be a different story, wouldn't it?
I hope Rifqa runs away and finds the help and support she needs. This is still a country where you can start over and be who you want to be.
And on a bright shining morniing in America ,a few days from now, when we have this girl has committed "honor Killed" Suicide … We shall shake outr heads . It will have been Murder, but none will datre declare it so……. England did this and see where England is going these days.

As for the second one, anyone with a few minutes and youtube can find dozens of videos claiming to "discredit" the Caner brothers. Fact is, I know Ergun and Emir, and have met many members of their family. They are ABSOLUTELY the real deal. A large portion of the Hadith deals with how to "make examples" of apostates, and one of the first instructions is to discredit everything you can about them and their conversion. We don't buy the lies. We're not drinking the Kool-Aid. Islam means "submission" not peace. Slavery. Death. I've read the Quran and the Hadith. They're nothing more than medieval guidebooks on cruelty, vengance and death. I choose Life.
The silence is deafening from the Lame Stream Media. Women's groups? Ha- forget it, they only care about women's rights if it is on the subject of the right to suck a fetus out of the womb into a garbage pail. Let's continue to expose this cancer in the world, and to expose those who refuse to report it.
Good suggestion! Lawyers specializing in immigration law would certainly be helpful. We have some great lawyers that could make a real difference for Rifqa – if they would get involved.
Remember when America was the World's last best hope? A refuge for the downtrodden? All of the hard work and sacrifices and spilled blood America has expended to rid ourselves of slavery, oppression, bigotry and inequality – and the established PC Left works to reverse all of that hard earned progress. And why not – the left has always been obstructive and destructive; they were responsible for Jim Crow, the KKK. They produced Margaret Sanger whose writings inspired Hitler to genocide. Why should we now believe that they have any honor? Where is the ACLU? Where is NOW? Probably suing attacking a Christian child somewhere for bringing his Bible to school or smearing a good, accomplished man with accusations of sexual harassment. They are far too busy defending the rights of terrorists to defend their victims, while Rifqa Barry cries out for help. Stay strong Rifqa – most of America is with you sweetheart.
…and a child shall lead them…

She should change her name to Sanchez.
Do you plan to kill your daughter?
Honor killing is real. Very few parents have actually killed their daughters for getting an abortion.
There are more Moslems today than there were even 10 years ago, and the Dept of State is importing more every day. Eventually there will be enough, about 10% of the population, to force Sharia law on the nation. Or try to.
If you are in an area where they succeed, you had better be Moslem. Otherwise, you will be given a choice. Slavery or death. You might, eventually, after you have been raped and beaten for a few years, be given the chance to convert to Islam. If you are still alive.
Her father will kill her, then proudly announce the fact.
He thinks he is right to kill her. The law can do nothing for her after she is dead.
Show some courage and get an account so we can track what you claim and see if you are consistant in your claims.
Where is the proof that the father planned to kill the daughter? There is no history of violence with him and no one except her says that he said that (not to mention the fact that she was allowed to be a cheerleader, which is a huge departure from Islamic extremism).
Could she have been in danger? Sure. That's what the police are there for. Are you really telling me you want strange adults getting involved in your family and encouraging your kids to run away from home?
People are so blinded by their ideology on this one that they can't see the truth in front of their faces.
I'm not sure who "Jess" is, but this comment is silly. So now we're not allowed to criticize someone who writes a stupid column because they're "doing the work of ABC, CBS, NBC, and CNN combined"? That's the face of Conservatism today? Don't question the journalists because they care about the right issues?
That sounds vaguely familiar as well. I'll pass, thank you.
Next time try arguing with facts instead of ridiculous stereotypes.
Muslims aren't a majority in any European country, but in several cities, they are, and those cities are all-but part of the new caliphate. Don't believe me? Take a walk through Amsterdam wearing a T-Shirt with one of the Danish Mohammed cartoons on it and see how far you get. Or try parking a car in the suburbs of Paris overnight and see what happens (hint: better make sure that your insurance covers bonfires). Here's another one: Send a woman, young or old, hot or not, through Malmo, Sweden, wearing jeans and a sweater, alone, with her head uncovered. You can pick her up later at the rape crisis center.
Those areas where Muslims constitute a large minority are areas where they hold power by violence or threat of it. Make your trailer park jokes now, but twenty or thirty years from now, you'll be singing a different tune, if the local jihadis haven't banned music, that is.
And here we have the results of paranoia run amok. You seriously are suggesting that the authorities raid the homes of all Americans who believe in Islam and deport them? Even if they've lived here for generations?
The more troubling thing is that there aren't 50 negatives on this comment. People around here seriously need to take a deep breath. It's starting to sound Waco-esque.
These people are from Sri Lanka. The Muslims in Sri Lanka are more modern and moderate. Most drink alcohol, and they do not take more than one spouse. They do not believe in Sharia law. In Sri Lanka, the Buddhists (vast majority of Lankans) Hindus, and Christians are laughing out loud at this case. I know, because my spouse is a Sri Lankan Christian.
And if you had encouraged and assisted my underage daughter to run away from home you would have required assistance yourself.
Ask yourself how you'd feel if this happened to you? Some Liberal teacher talks your daughter into running away because he thinks your homelife isn't right for her. How can anyone with an above room-temperature IQ think that this is OK?
And your proof for that statement is what? Do you usually just assume fathers will kill their daughters? Would you like to find the numbers on how many Muslims in America kill their children versus how many have normal lives?
If this guy was dangerous (and there is absolutely no proof that he is, even after multiple investigations), then it's the police's job to handle it….not some do-gooder who has ZERO connection to the family. Try dialing down the hyperbole and deal with the facts next time.
"I wil await my thumbs down I guess?"
I feel your pain. For some reason this story (and a few others that are similar) bring out the wing-nut in the Big Hollywood readership. How anyone can take this story and call this creep a hero for helping an underage girl to run away from home is completely beyond me. Evidently people have lost the ability to say, "What if this happened to me?"
I have no idea what you just said. I literally don't know if you support the minister or the girl's parents. I also don't know why.
Nice post! {sigh}
And let's pray she be returned to her family if there is no threat (and those that helped her run away be properly punished).
How about this prosecution (not a lawsuit) is intended to punish someone who committed a crime? You know, Conservatives are supposed to be against those.
And what will you say if it turns out she made the whole thing up? There is no evidence that the father is an extremist, or that he ever said he would harm her (he let her be a cheerleader for pete's sake…..how does that fit with Islamic fanaticism?). If she was convinced to run away from home based on her wanting a less-restrictive home environment, will you still be cheerleading?
Last time I checked, most Christians believed in strong discipline for their children, even when the kids thought it was too tough.
Yeah, I love the comment that the father "issued a threat of death." Not only is that not legal language, but it's assuming that a 16 year-old girl doesn't lie. Last time I checked, the courts actually have people who investigate these kinds of claims to see if they're true. I think they're called….detectives.
Oh yeah, the detectives already investigated and said the girl is in no danger.
This present evil world is on the very brink of righteous judgement and they are completely unaware of this impending tribulation which begins in the fall of 2011. Pre this time all true Christians will be removed from this scene. Thank God Rifqa Bary will be one of them. It will be very interesting for them to go to get her and find she has disappeared. This dear girl will be in heaven with her Lord and Saviour prior to her being 18 years of age. Now you all can say one is crazy. Just wait and see. He who laughs last laughs best. Keep looking up as hence cometh our deliverance!
Des_ is the same person as Ohian and as Reader on the Columbus Dispatch. S/he works at CAIR, Columbus Ohio and is payed to comment on Rifqa Bary full time. The girl does everything wrong, her father is so good etc. Beware! It is an attempt to influence opinion so that she is returned to her parents so they can 'deal' with her.

You will not know anything if you stick to the Yellow Stream Media.
If this had been an Imam driving a converted Christian to the bus stop so she could flee to Livonia, MI and live with a family of shiites, would the comments here be the same? I believe they would be the exact opposite, and your comments would be praising the government for their prosecution of the abductor of a minor child. The facts of this case are self-evident, but the law must be applied with equal impartiality.
At age 17, isn't she free to do as she pleases now? I'm sure many 17 year olds have moved out of their parents home before.
She is not a citizen. I suspect that she would have to be in order to become an emancipated minor.
Oh, yes. The Amish are notorious for killing Apostates, aren't they?
So, we should ignore what you say because you do not use legal language?
The detectives do not have their lives on the line.
You cannot even keep track of where you are?
I had a close friend (who I secretly dated) who was going to be forced into an arranged marriage with an older man. She told me that she had a cousin who had been killed by her father for running away from home. Don't act like you have some deep understanding that the rest of us couldn't possibly share without your brilliance.
That has nothing to do with this case. The police investigated and determined there was no danger. Could they be wrong? Yes. But we don't run around encouraging children to run away from home because the police could possibly be wrong.
If you aren't aware that all of the Big sites are run by the same person with the same software, and that Big Hollywood was first, I wouldn't go bragging about it. I've been here since day #1…..how about you?
WHAT??? Are you freaking out of your mind? I've been posting on all the sites here under my name since the day it opened. You can go back through Intense Debate and check my posts if you have any question about it. I don't have a single comment on any other site on the internet using Intense Debate, so my entire rating is based on what the people here have thought of my comments. Before that I was a regular poster (and caller) to Dennis Miller's show (I have 5000 posts over 2 1/2 years on his Web site).
Take your delusional paranoid fantasies somewhere else, douchebag. Oh yeah, why are you accusing me of this when YOU'RE the one with an anonymous login?
I reiterate…..douchebag.
That's not the point and you know it. Right and wrong doesn't cease to exist when they butt up against your personal biases.
So now you're against the police? You think they are corrupt or inept? Should private citizens now interfere in private family matters (including by kidnapping) because we don't trust the police anymore?
Come on. Take off the ideological glasses and really look at the facts of this case. This isn't even a close call.
BRING HER TO TEXAS!!!
We would LOVE to have another bright young Christian woman with a firearm!
Sorry, just researching! Your comments on this thread looks so much like Readers on the Columbus Dispatch.
I am in anonymous login because i live in a muslim neighbourhood, not in safe America! I have to choose for safety first!
imo by obama supporting odinga of kenya who strongly supports radical shariah law obama too supports this radical nonsense.
Well, I can assure you that you haven't read my posts anywhere else on the net (other than Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller). I am a Center-Right Independent and am FIRMLY in favor of father's rights (which tend to get trampled when people start getting panicky about an issue).
I am 100% in favor of the police doing a thorough investigation into this case. If they find ANYTHING, then I'm in favor of keeping her out of the house (I had a friend/girlfriend who had to deal with very strict Muslim parents). If they don't, however, then I am not in favor of citizens feeling entitled to circumvent the parent's rights. If they can do it to these people, you can guarantee that they will do it to us one day.
obama campaigned for and heavily donated to Rali Odinga in Kena. Odinga is very outspoken for radicalSharih Law and pledged to bring it to Kenya even though Muslims are a far cry from the majority in Kenya. Obama has never spoken out against Shariah Law…WHY?
John, i visited your position many times last year during this ordeal saying to myself in a few months it wont matter anyhow so why not just leave her in florida when she will be making up her own mind. But she needs to reach 18.
unless ohio has other laws on their books.
kids as young as 14 are able to declare emancipation from parents; why not in this case. although i must admit i do not support children as young as 14 making up their own minds for full emancipation. i beleive a child even yoiunger than 14 do know when they are being abused and should be allowed to be removed from a house with parents having visiting rights, but nothing else until and unless the child becomes over 19 or over.
If you build it, they will come.
Where do you come up with that about the police?
Where do you come up with "kidnapping"?
"Ideological glasses"? Bub, I'm a pagen atheist. Tell me about the ideology that has me under a death sentence.
"Don't act like you have some deep understanding that the rest of us couldn't possibly share without your brilliance. "
Who is your "us"?
Changing the subject?
Do you still believe that you are an "Big Hollywood"?
She'd be safer had she run away from home to be a teen prostitute.
What do you think my personal biases are?
Citizenship.
You're the one saying the detectives don't have their lives on the line. Funny, but other than when they're apprehending a criminal they never do. So does that mean you never trust them to make the right decisions or protect the innocent?
The minister who helped her leave the state should be charged with a crime. If you move a minor across state lines, it's kidnapping. He assisted her, so I don't know if that rises to the level of kidnapping, but if not it's just a technicality.
Atheism has nothing to do with my statement (nor does religion). You are so afraid of Islam that you are in favor of the government separating a family based on your suspicion that anyone who believes in it is capable of murder. That's an ideological tenet, and one that I find painfully juvenile.
This lawsuit is intended to intimidate. He will end up spending money, probably money he doesn't have, defending himself. This is an attempt to get people to shut up by attacking their wallets. How day anyone in the name of religion help someone who is afraid she will be killed by her family. Has the gov't forgotten that domestic violence is real and people actually kill their family members. This is sad time for freedom.
There is no Freedom of Religion in the US, only freedom from being Christian. Jews, Hindu's, Voodoo's, Buddhists and Muslims do not have the right to practice their religions as is dictated to them, but can only do so by family and other law that is a okay with Christianity. As for the insidious nature of Islam, it's more like they practice what they preach and aren't hypocrites like Christians. Case in point and from the Bible is below. Oh wait I forgot, Christians believe in the Bible but don't have to follow it because it's a "make it up as you go" religion. "I stayed at a holiday inn last night and killed 27 people, but it's okay because Jesus has died for my sins."
(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)
If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.
And no I am not a homo leftist commie but an non-Christian Conservative Republican who actually reads books and not just snippet articles.
I'm Dudemanbro and I approve this message.
We're importing Muslims now? Like in crates? I didn't know thanks for edumacating me.
Build what a crate? Some guy in another post told me we're importing Muslims now. I think he means in crates.
Police have found no evidence of abuse in this case and the only claim about any killing is from the little girl who, in her youtube video, seems to be heavily coached in what to say. I call BS on this "cause."
Crates, barrels, boxcars, Toyotas, underpants, breast implants, jet liners, diversity whiners–you know what I mean.
Anyone who disagrees with you, since you seem convinced you know more than anyone who offers a differing opinion. The difference between us is that I don't assume I know more than you. I disagree with you, and I have what I believe are substantial reasons for doing so. You've offered nothing that could change my mind about anything, and instead have me responding to opinions and insults. It's pointless.
BTW, I was responding directly to your post, which showed a small number (proportionately) of children who'd been murdered by their parents (as if we didn't already know it happened). Something that would be really interesting to find out would be how many Muslim children manage to survive their religious parents every day in America. Then we could compare that number with how many Christian, Jewish, or Atheist parents commit murder. I don't know the numbers, but it would be a good conversation to have that would be based on facts, not assumptions that everyone who is Muslim must believe the same way.
The last time I checked, we Christians didn't stone gay people or prostitutes because it said to somewhere in the Old Testament. To assume everyone in a religion is monolithic is to not understand human nature.
I'm pretty sure I'm not "an Big Hollywood," but thanks for asking. I however am bouncing back and forth between the three Big sites and the Daily Caller. They are all great sites to find information not readily available elsewhere.
Yeah, another guy wanting strangers to get involved with taking away our kids if the kids say that things are bad at home. I thought that's what the police and social services were for?
Seriously, has everyone around here lost their minds?
I agree with you. (cue the 'Thumbs down'). What really frosts me with this whole case is the fact that no matter how hard they try, they haven't been able to find ANY evidence to suggest that Rifqa was in danger. And yet, their parental authority has been underminded based upon what is being proven as an empty accusation. Couple that with the underhandedness of the pastors in both Florida and Ohio and this stinks to high heaven. Just because Islam produces terrorism and is a false religion doesn't mean that Muslims are wrong in every facet of life and it doesn't mean that every Muslim is a Sharia Law advocating terrorist. The way this case has been handled has set a terrible precedent for parental authority in this country. If the parents had committed a crime, by all means remove the child and keep her safe. But despite their innocence, they have lost their daughter. For shame…
right on…
Thank you!!! That is exactly my point. I understand the concern for this girl given the recent news reports of honor killings, but let's have some perspective. If we deem this to be OK, then what's to stop a Liberal teacher from encouraging my daughter to run away from home (and assisting her) because I'm too strict as a parent?
So if I come to your house and convince your teenage daughter to leave (claiming I "perceive" danger), I haven't done anything wrong? Wow, that's what I call a leap of logic.
Brian Williams will be charge by legal counsel who understand that this is enforcement of sharia and are unafraid to fight the oppression and intimidation of the Islamic law.

Rifqa's attorneys should be removed due to incompetence and for not putting their clients best interests first. Someone from the Thomas More Law Center needs to take over her case.
We need to start deporting most muslims. They do not believe in freedom or anything else our country stands for and many of them are actively trying to undermine our society.
That scary picture of the girl in the mummy outfit w/the american flag painted onto the bit of her face that we can see is what these lost souls want Rifqa to look like and be. Jesus has rescued her fm. that type of life forever, and He says, "Rifqa, I went to great costs to purchase your life — and now that you have turned your's over to me— I will never leave you or forsake you."

Unfortunately, we never learn from history! Obviously… because 911 certainly didn't teach us anything! We, (Especially this government!) has become so concerned with Political Correctness that they are willing to forsake the very Constitution that gave us our freedom and liberty, just so we don't offend someone else who came over to OUR country to live! Learn OUR ways if you're going to live in this country, just as we would be expected to do, if we went and lived in yours!!!!
Perhaps the Bary's, CAIR, and their mosque should all be indicted for conspiracy to commit a hate crime (murder because of religion). Their actions to date constitute conspiracy even if Rifqa (Lord willing) lives to a ripe old age.
Here is an issue that we Christians should expect if we begin to evangelize Muslims as much as we should.
Sooner or later a Muslim housewife, a married woman, will convert to Christianity. According to 1 Cor. 7, if her husband kicks her out of the house she is then free to remarry to a Christian man. A close examination of Paul's wording seems to make it clear that she is also free to remarry if she flees in fear for her life. This case demonstrates that these fears are well founded.
And if and when she remarries, we Christians can expect to be branded as home wreckers by the Muslims and their sycophants in the media.
It will happen. Mark my words.
[...] A girl flees from her home in fear for her life – and law enforcement goes after the people who helped her. That’s the situation in the Rifqa Bary case. for more click here [...]
The problem is (as has been mentioned previously in other articles but not here) both Rifqa and her family are illegal aliens and Rifqa might not be protected by our Constitution.
