Andrew Breitbart was confronted on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” by liberal political analyst Laura Flanders. Ignoring Maher’s questions and moving on her own agenda for the show she challenged Breitbart to apologize to Shirley Sherrod. It didn’t end well for Ms. Flanders.

Flanders was trying to use the debate as a way to attack Breitbart, Trump and the Tea Party. Fortunately, Breitbart stood his ground, reminded her context matters, and while he may have not got the audience vote, he got his point across.
If that's not the worst show on TV I don't know what is.
I admire Andrew's willingness to enter the lion's den, but it almost comes off as a lack of standards to go on the tube with Maher and his lefty friends.
And now I know why McCain's campaign was so awful in 2008 seeing McKinnon. He's a shockingly dim bulb.
This is a prime example of why liberals don't want to argue using facts and logic – they KNOW they can't win that fight. It's easier to call names, using hit 'n' run tactics with a bumper sticker mentality. After all, to liberals, the ends justify ANY means. I'm amazed that Breitbart was even asked to be on Surreal Time w/Bill Maher. They probably won't make that 'mistake' again!
McCain didn't help much either. In fact, I'm not even convinced that McCain voted for McCain in '08.
Maybe the people who actually fired Sherrod should be the ones apologizing.
Liberalism reminds me of rabies.
I love the way that Maher completely dismisses the fact that the TEA Party would go nuts for a West/Cain or Cain/West 2012 ticket. The facts just don't support their RAAAAACIST narrative . . . "time to move on."
It is time to turn the tables on people like this "woman". Use Alinsky's tactics against her. Isolate her, personalize her, freeze her, then destroy her and people like her.
We need to call these people "racers". Mock them for believing that an opposition to or criticism of His Royal Highness, Our Lord God King Barack Hussein Obama the First is based solely on race.
A good place to start is to go to Amazon and leave a review of this racers book, commenting on how ignorant this racer is, and tell people this racer"s book is a waste of time. Give this racers book 1 star and so on.
Mark McKinnon is a weasel.
This Flanders hag is the archetype for the snooty, elite, liberal journalist.\
Maher is…well, Maher.
Andrew is getting better at this, but is still obviously (and understandably) nervous. He likely thought it would be an even fight with McKinnon there, but he was doomed to be disappointed, and it ended up being 3 against 1.
My God – how did we ever end up with John McCain as our candidate?
Flanders is cheap and tacky. She is not interested in a fair, sane and sound debate; only as many lies she can tell. Bill Maher is still silly and stupid and getting more stupid by the minute thinking I suppose he is clever bringing people who are even involved. Andrew is great.
I really appreciate what Andrew is doing to change the political culture of this once great country….
But speak to Breitbart's point about wanting to know which classes Obama took in college. Why would it matter?
I think Maher made a great point about him taking a Bible class in college (and now he's an atheist). I took a Russian lit class in college….does that mean I'm a Communist?
I sent a tweet to Maher and said if he's taking a poll, I'd vote for Cain and West.
Sometimes people need a good dose of truth.
When will Andrew get his own show on talk radio? We need him to be front and center 365, this hit and miss
is inspiring, but he could reach a wider audience if he was easier to find.
Happy Trails, All!
; )
The classes he took and what his grades were matter, because a young mind is so impressionable. By knowing what classes he took (and excelled in), we better know the man and his beliefs.
As far as Maher's comment goes, if the liberal anti-Christians that dominate colleges were teaching the "Bible" class, then it clearly explains why he's an atheist. In addition, his decisions could have been influenced by his parents/family, not by that class.
Since there were 5000 reprters that showed up in Wasilla AK to attack Palin, and during that same time there were zero people in Chicago…doesn't that say something?
Doesn't that show the bias that is in the mainstream news today?
Andrew did a great job, as usual. What a vivid contrast in temperment between these two. Flanders, the leather n' lipstick Marxist has never been more uncomfortable in her miserable life. The anxiety was all over her. Squirmimg around and helpless, only inches away from a man who represents everything she abhors, yet never up to the challenge. Her pride comes cheap. Reduced to calling him a 'con-man' for lack of any coherence. All she's living for is a tiny moment like this one, under lights, hoping to be the latest 'profile in courage' of the blogosphere Left, if only for a week.
Sportscaster's talk about professional athlete's college careers… personally I'm a bit more interested in the presidents background than that of a NFL linebacker.
Thanks for you reply. I still see it differently.
I also was quite taken with Existentialism, Sartre, etc. for about 1 year and then I grew out of it. That I was interested in that, studied it, says nothing more than I was exposed to it, learned about it and then decided it was not my cup of tea. My beliefs have changed so much since college that any classes I took or what I excelled in would indicate nothing at all about me now.
So it sounds as if the "birthers" are mutating into the graders/classers. It never ends….
You need to come up with a better argument. You guys already think Obama is a horrible President, is taking us down the road to ruin and socialism and disagree with every decision he's made. So if he took a class in "free markets 101." it's going to change your ideas about him and his beliefs? Or if he took a class on Marxism, you're going to hate him more than you already do? Give me a break…this is just another red herring. But you and the Donald can have at it.
They talk about their college athletic career; they don't talk about which classes they took in college.
So talk about how Obama voted when he was a U.S. Senator, or a State Senator – those things are relevant; what classes on took in college is not. But of course, that he hasn't made his college records available must mean there is something sinister he's trying to hide according to Tea Party thought, I'm sure.
How did we end up with McCain?
Refresh your memory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_%28... .
See any dinguses there that are familiar?
See any faces there, that are going to have a go at it in 2012?
I have a theory.
Any of those candidates that could not beat McCain in the Primary in 2008, had better not be the GOP nominee for the General Election in 2012.
We can't take a loser from 2008, and turn him into a winner in 2012.
More likely, it means you're a tsarist.
I found the video unsatisfying. I wanted Breitbart to shriek STFU and hit her over the head with a lamp. After all, that seemed to be her MO.
More like a Bolshevik, wouldn't you think? Also took a few American Lit classes just to keep up the subterfuge.
I'm pretty sure Bush didn't release his college records; I believe they were leaked by someone else. Probably a liberal who wanted to show Bush wasn't a very good college student.
Here's one little tidbit: (Negotiating with the Soviet Union??? Oh my God….Chamberlain all over again.)
Michael L. Baron, who taught the year-long honors seminar in American Foreign Policy that Barack Obama took during his senior year at Columbia, recalled in an NBC interview Obama's "easily acing" the class and receiving an A for his senior paper on the topic of nuclear negotiations with the Soviet Union."
Can't really see what a football player majored in, or his grades are revelvent to how well he plays the game…… can you?
You have a point, more relevent would be what candidate Obama said about going to war without congressional approval, compared to what President Obama actually did.
I don't think it would matter, as the people who voted for Barry saw something in him that most (any?) conservative didn't see, (first black president? Smoked Pot? Hope and Change? talented speaker??? a Christian?????) and wouldn't be swayed anyway. Or maybe they would? If perhaps they could have seen the Soetoro Thesis- At least we could hope that it would have swayed some of the independant to have a window into this guys mind. No matter. I was convinced from the words from his own mouth that he was a socialist agitator. A Communist Organizer (a few letters different from his claim of being a Community Organizer)
Here is my issue. Is it really that easy to notice that when anytime you are in a discussion with a liberal ABOUT ANYTHING, racism is charged against you if you are conservative? What the hell? BTW, was that Ned Flanders wife with Breitbart on Real Time?
I have a question…isn't Bill Maher demonstrating racism when he says that Donald Trump should walk down the street in Harlem? What is he implying? That blacks (that's right, I refer to myself as white, and someone who is black, black) are more dangerous? Are they less likely to discuss their differences in violence and not words? C'mon! Maher should have been IMMEDIATELY called out for that comment!
Laura Flounders.
Strange thing that- Great Media personalities don't do Great things on all Media. I think the only personality that I saw successful on crossing two forms of media is Hannity. I only give a courtesy tune in on either, but I blame it on ADD. I just can't sit still for an hour TV or three hour radio. I make it through Red Eye sometimes, but it takes me several times (the invention of the DVR is a God send!) I think Breitbart is very successful on his own soap box. I would hate to see him harm his credibility if he fails trying somebody elses.
What is he implying? That blacks (that's right, I refer to myself as white, and someone who is black, black) are more dangerous?
Ahhhh – exactly my impression, nearly every time I hear Maher talk about "what the Blacks should do." I think his most condescending, raaaaaacist remark, though, was back in December, when he was bemoaning the fact that Urkel wasn't "gangsta" enough:
"I thought, when we elected the first black president, as a comedian, I thought in two years that I'd be making jokes about what a gangsta he was. Not that he's President Wayne Brady, but I thought we were getting Suge Knight."
Right. Suge Knight. Former CEO of Deathrow Records, known for pistol-whipping the competition, dealing drugs and guns, and hanging Vanilla Ice by his ankles off a 20th storey balcony. (Not that I wouldn't have loved to see that, but probably not if the dangler were the President).
And not just Maher – there were many MSM talking heads saying that Obama should "go gangsta" during the healthcare debate.
And you're absolutely right – these a**holes are literally saying that Obama needs to start behaving less "White", and more like the, to them, "typical" Black person.
I just cannot grok what sort of self-delusion a Black person has to be operating under, to not see the inherent race-condescension and barely-concealed contempt underlying such statements.
Yep. I look at that slate of candidates, and it's like looking at the 1965 Mets second-string.
But in retrospect, I think any of them that had the balls to take on Urkel (and Romney, for one, would have) over his past associations, would have won.
the birther issue was mostly made up to deflect the dicourse. what many people have questions about is his citizenship, not birthplace. did his family renounce citizenship when in indonesia? how did they get back? why have all the passports been destroyed? what is up with all those social security numbers?
also, questioning his acceptance to columbia and harvard is not all about how "smart" he is or his grades. this is again a way to change the subject. there are many with great grades who cannot get in. it takes letters of recommendation from influential people. who did obama know that helped him in that regard? those are the questions concerning his school records.
breitbart did manage to briefly bring up cashill. too bad he was awkwardly stumbling around trying not to look like a kook in front of people who already think so to actually bring up the relevant points of contention that cashill considers.
cashill makes a great case for questioning the authenticity of both books. including timelines and nautical themes. too bad breitbart couldnt bring those up. after reading his book, why would breitbart not admit that a strong case has been made for authenticity of "dreams?"
With all due respect PJ, Andrew did not do well here at all. I love Andrew, but understand, failure is practically imminent on this stage. In order to fight these fools, you attack. You attack hard and through intellect. Flanders is the typical follower. Simply ask her how many black friends she has? How many times has she traveled to the projects without security? Ask Maher if he considers his own "Harlem after dark" comment racist? These pasty phonies are disgusting, and when confronted with their tripe, you go on the offense, not the defense.
totally.
i was praying maher would get called out for that stupid interview with the governor (from massachussettes?) earlier in the segment.
he actually said " you know the president, was he a good student?"
how pathetic and intellectually irrelevant.
how does simply knowing somebody give you the right to comment on whether or not they were a good student?
breitbart more than bent over backwards to make sure he separated himself from the birthers and especially to let the crowd know he thought obama was "very smart."
who cares? i will judge his intellect according to his policies. like trump said. we have a lot of very stupid elected officials.
but instead of talking policy, let"s spend an hour discussing whether youre a teabag top or bottom…..hilarious.
Even this ladies facial expressions scream confusion! There's a crowed she wants to fit in with. all the libs here were grasping!
They can't deal with the diversity that is the conservative movement! In their view Beck is Andrew is Rush is Palin. Their own terrible prejudices cloud their vision! The fact is they really don't have much to complain about and it makes them so sore!
"So talk about how Obama voted when he was a U.S. Senator, or a State Senator – those things are relevant"
His track record there aint pretty either.
"But of course, that he hasn't made his college records available must mean there is something sinister he's trying to hide according to Tea Party thought, I'm sure."
Then why did he seal them? You'd have to be a lemming to think he did it for no reason. And given what this POS is proud of, the fact that he would conceal something about his sordid life of thuggery should disturb anyone with a working brain.
Why does Maher spend a significant portion of his show as an Obama apologist? Why does he feel the need to defend Obama against all injuries great and small? I don't get it. Maybe the show should be called "Licking Obama's Boots with Bill Maher?" Isn't that what his show is really all about? It is an exercise in Groupthink, and people like Breitbart are supposed to be the criminals who are thrown into the Coliseum with the lions so that the rabid masses can watch them be torn apart; but in the end they appear to any reasonable observer as what they truly are, wihch is the Obama arse crack licker brigade. The bell rings, and the salivating Pavlovian crack lickers lick Obama clean after he defecates on the citizens of the US and the world. What stood out most of all in those 11 or so minutes was the dead silence that befell the crowd when Breitbard mentioned how well received the West/Cain ticket would be. There was no response and there was none that could be provided, because Breitbart held up a mirror so that all of those crack licking hypocrites could get a good look at themselves the way anybody with half a brain and some common sense sees them. It was truly stunning! Brilliant!
"Why does he feel the need to defend Obama against all injuries great and small?"
White guilt.
