Glenn Beck’s The Blaze has joined the “progressive” left’s all-out attack on James O’Keefe after his Project Veritas successfully demonstrated that dead people could vote in the New Hampshire primary due to the state’s lack of voter ID requirements at the polls.
Instead of focusing on the issue of voter fraud, Beck has slandered O’Keefe, stoking an apparent grudge that surfaced during O’Keefe’s successful NPR sting last year. At that time, The Blaze tried–and failed–to discredit O’Keefe’s exposé of political bias among NPR’s senior executives, which resulted in the departure of CEO Vivian Schiller. Today, The Blaze claims the New Hampshire attorney general is investigating O’Keefe, when in fact the attorney general is investigating the state’s voting system over the flaws O’Keefe exposed.
Ironically, Beck had previously treated voter fraud with the seriousness it deserves.
In 2008, he attacked “liberal whiners” for defending ACORN on the issue of voter fraud. In 2009, he attacked voter fraud by Democrats in the Minnesota election that saw Al Franken unseat Republican Norm Coleman. In 2010–relying on O’Keefe’s ACORN exposé–Beck attacked “progressives” and MSNBC, whom he said were promoting voter fraud in an attempt to help Democrat Martha Coakley defeat Scott Brown in the Massachusetts special election for U.S. Senate:
“Fix the rules! Make sure that it doesn’t happen again! The rules are severely flawed, clearly!” Beck exclaimed in 2009. O’Keefe has made the same case with his New Hampshire sting.
But today, Beck is so desperate to discredit O’Keefe that he has discarded his principled stance against voter fraud and thrown his lot in with Barack Obama’s legal team and dead voters.
Perhaps Beck should rename his website: “The Grudge” is closer to the truth.

Seems to have gone over to the dark side. Sad, really.
Maybe (probably) it's just me ….. but I just never "got" Glenn Beck.
I have to admit it, in the past, I've taken no side when Andrew pointed out Glenn Beck's hypocrisy, attacking O'Keefe, etc.. because I was a fan of Beck's show when it was on Fox. Now, I don't listen to his radio show, so I wanted to ask, did Beck mention this on his radio show today, or is this just another example of the leftists who've taken over The Blaze making hay while the sun shines (Beck hired one leftist as editor, and she's brought over a bunch more since Beck took a hands off approach)? It's despicable, there are leftists signed up as commenters and the articles are all written from the atypical bland HuffPoo style. I can't defend Beck any longer.
It's worth pointing out that Glenn Beck is not The Blaze. Both of the given examples of a "grudge" between Beck and O'Keefe were articles on The Blaze written by other people. All the examples you give of Beck attacking voter fraud are clips of Beck himself, or articles on his personal site. It's reasonable to hold Beck at least somewhat accountable for what appears on The Blaze, but I don't see any evidence that Beck himself has a grudge against O'Keefe.
If he keeps this up O'keefe should be nominated for the medal of freedom. His "stunts" have done more for reform in the gov't that all branches of gov't combined.
As soon as I heard they hired leftists on The Blaze awhile back I stopped visiting it. I agree with you – Beck should be held partially responsible but unless I see evidence that he says any of this himself, I don't really care. Though his issues with Breitbart over Sherrod still bug me.
If I EVER had to pick a side between the two of them overall, it'd easily be Andrew's.
Can any one stand the preachyness of Beck these days? He is right about the progressive commies, but man he is hard to listen to. No one is perfect.
This is like the melt down of Little Green Footballs, really sad and completely inexplicable.
"At that time, The Blaze tried–and failed–to discredit O’Keefe’s exposé of political bias among NPR’s senior executives, which resulted in the departure of CEO Vivian Schiller."
Why did The Blaze (I assume with Beck's blessings) do that? It doesn't seem to make sense to me.
Beck is starting to show signs of clinical paranoia.
Beck and many others have a very good reason to be envious of Okeefe, he is creative, industrious, clever and he has created himself, himself. Breitbart gave him a large exposure and support but the craft and content are Okeefe's. Too many of the media folks are mere news aggregators, Okeefe is a news maker. Show me any other young man fresh out of college, without a degree in journalism or whatever they call it now, who has accomplished what he has done in a year or two! Sorry Beck, you have a studio tan. Okeefe works the street!
Here's the deal. The Blaze article was posted by Madeline Morgenstern, a flaming Libtard! Just read some of her stuff….ugh. She changed the headline to suit her taste but, linked to the New Hampshire Star article that had the correct headline about the AG investigating voter fraud….dumb, dumb dumb.
Bottom line is that she's so stupid and deceitful she should be fired.
Although I agree wholeheartedly with what O'Keefe was trying to do here (I live in SC, where Eric "My People" Holder just told us where we could shove our own voter ID law) I have yet to see any comments by lawyers who say his actions were not illegal. I was very disturbed when BJ published the first article about the left smearing O'Keefe. Although there were multiple references to sites alleging this conduct was criminal, I saw no references to lawyers who said it was not. Is there anyone who actually knows what the law is, and how far a person has to go in the voting process, before their conduct becomes illegal? O'Keefe may have to bite the bullet on this one, as he had to in LA. I have no doubt that the Dem governor in this state is outraged, not because the dead can vote, but because he now has egg on his face for vetoing the NH voter ID law. No humiliated governor is going to let this pass without prosecution. And if the state AG won't do it, how long do you think it will take for Holder's goons to do so? Take it from an SC voter, the laws only get enforced when Holder wants them to be. And in this case, he WILL want them to be. Hell, he'll enforce them even if they aren't actually laws, so long as he gets the result he's after.
Beck hurt is back earlier this week and he has been under medical care. I blame his pain meds for this behavior…
Thanks for posting the "Truth" of the matter, sisty. This divisive BS between Beck, Andrew – The Bigs and The Blaze has GOT to stop.
Beck has a very large staff and is very trusting – which is a flaw in these days and times. Hopefully, he gets set straight. I want to see both of these groups on the same page …combined, they give the true Conservatives that much more power.
Check out the comments by Jude321, claims to be a former prosecuter. He made several comments on page 2 http://biggovernment.com/cjohnson/2012/01/13/medi...
I used to like Beck, but the more I saw from him the more I realized he was merely a clever huckster and a Mormon one at that. I suspect we will see Beck defend fellow Mormon Mitt Romney with greater frequency and intensity in the coming months.
I am sick to death of ALL these so-called journalists who can't there stories straight, either by intention or just plain stupidity. And, they think we won't catch them at it? Even dumber.
If Beck and the Bigs want to have a tiff, fine, I don't care, but they need to keep it out of their reporting.
Remember the Girl Scout story about the transgenders allowed in GS? The Blaze broke that story because the Girl Scout contacted Beck. The story was then picked up on the Daily Caller who linked to Beck. The Big Journalism story only mentioned the DC and linked to their article……NOT ONE WORD about Beck.
So much for "credit , where credit is due", huh?.
This is Lame.
Some days, I can't wait for 12.12.12. This world is a Sodom & Gomorrah, money changers in the Temple and just about every other horrid, despicable thing we could let it become.
Envy is one of the seven deadly sins. If you practice it, your CAREER dies, Glenn.
disliked him as well. Admired his ability as a presenter and his ability to nuance his arguments, but what the hell has been going on in his head lately?
100% agree! BOTH need to SEE the bigger picture and the "Cause and Effect" of what they doing and creating. Is childish, really – and makes both no better than the MSM (self-serving).
BOTH agree we need to dismantle the Socialist Left – from voter fraud (ACORN) to Congressional Insider Trading to the Fed Reserve and the EVIL, spiteful Obama, etc. …get ON the same page and DO it! Their combined efforts would create a tsunami of biblical proportions. On that note, I will be totally honest here – Beck and his staff are MORONS …as are Breitbart and his staff.
Unfortunately, that poster seems to believe he did indeed violate the law. I still have not seen any legally qualified person defend his actions. As much as I concur with his intent, the left cannot be said to be smearing him if he did in fact violate the law. I may not like it, but then, the truth is not beholden to my personal preferences. I wonder if he sought a lawyer's advice before trying this tactic?
Maybe he started drinking with Schultz again
Maybe they'll figure it out someday….when they grow-up. In the meantime, they need to stop believing they are fooling us….we're not morons.
Project Veritas was fully aware of this and that it would happen. Count on it. They are willing to go there. This is a deflection tactic by the left to take the story away from that devastating video. It killed their argument against Voter ID Laws.
But, it's going to backfire. You can't tell the attack-the- messenger story without telling the message.
Glenn Beck did not write that article, but it seems to be Breitbart's standard operating procedure to accuse someone of writing and/or supporting things that they didn't and don't in newsletters, errr, websites.
It seems that neither PJ nor most of the people who have commented even read the article- PJ just read the headline and ran with it. How disappointing…go to the Blaze and read the article yourselves and re-read this post and see what you think
Oh God, I hope not Demon …. but I hear Chris Matthews just ordered another round for the (nut) house !
I think he is indeed the kind of journalist willing to take one for the team. I hope it turns out well for him, or at least that enough is done about the problem that he feels the price was worth it.
What are the other six, if I may ask? I seem to recall something about greed and gluttony, envy too. After being raised in a 1950s Southern Baptist life I was pleased to leave their congregation when dancing was also included as a sin. In fact, just about anything I wanted to do when I was a young man was a sin but in those days I had my sister there to make damn sure I knew it was a sin! One thing I never missed was the stench of Juicey Fruit gum trying to mask Southern Comfort at a Sunday afternoon Southern Baptist picnic.
More like "fooling themselves"! What the heII happened to having a civil discussion about a falling out – to mend and forgive?
I truly hope Brietbart and Beck read this thread …as well as their staff. There are so many writers on both sides that I truly admire and appreciate. Saving this Country, restoring the US Constitution and the Founders intents is so much BIGGER than this childish feud. We've bigger fish to fry: Congress, Obama and the Exec Branch, Holder's Injustice Dept, the NRLB, the Union Thugs, the CZARS, Van Jones, Bill Ayers and Soros …on and on.
Andrew – Glenn – PLEASE, for the sake of this once wonderful REPUBLIC – get a grip, bury the friggin' hatchet, get on the same page – flow 'Power to Power' (as you are BOTH powerful) – and "We the People" expect MORE from you than any other media outlet – dagnabit !!!
Well Charles was always one of teh 'neo-cons!' Nah, but I think less strong-willed people turn with the tide. No one wants to embracing an ideology they feel as losing.
Charles fell for the MSM's hype that Republicans and Constitutionalism was a dying breed in 2008–of course forgetting the MSM shed similar crocodile tears in 1968.
That's really the watershed year- late 2008 and early 2009. I stopped visiting that site in Feb 2009. Never went back.
I would just point out that GB is out with a back injury and isn't even going to work.
First, you may recall that Andrew was ebullient at having acquired a recent Harvard Law grad to assist him in the matter of the Joe McGinnis email scandal, the presumption being that someone around here knows as much about law as BronxZionist–who I may add made a very persuasive argument earlier today on another topic. There are at least a couple other regulars who are probably practicing attorneys but everything has its own nuance and specialization. What Okeefe did to obtain access in New Orleans to Landrieu's office was technically trespassing but not for the reason he would have known about. As to obtaining a ballot under false pretenses, in New Hampshire, for a mere primary election? You know, I guess it depends on whether he actually took possession of the ballot as a result of some false representation, a fraud. That he or they did not cast the ballot is separate from the action of a fictitious misrepresentation. From what I have read, he made it clear to them, at some point, that the person was deceased. More importantly, there was NO INTENT to deceive nor to violate any law.
Gluttony, Lust, Greed, Pride, Sloth, Wrath
Could you please site something specific to support the presumption of SOP?
I believe that what you ask would require a modicum of humility from all concerned……..
Pfft, : P" ' ''' Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha
Thanks! Seeing them again refreshes the memory… yes, they are deadly in that they afflict our soul and take our attention away from what we are really in this life to do. For now, I am inclined to believe that Satan is doing his best to perpetuate that sensibility of Sodom & Gomorrah, at least so much as media will sustain it. In substance, I believe that the vast majority of America is not that way at all. From a Christian perspective, Ecumenicism is the real tally keeper of how succesful Satan has been or will be. The Gospel is what it is, it is not going to be accepted by everyone but I do resent the government's insistence on stifling those believers from sharing it with others. Check out the Berean Call if you are interested, thebereancall.org it was there for me when I walked through the shadow of the valley.
Ah, you are using such BIG words there, sisty – modicum – YES, this is exactly what these 2 need …and if they don't – buffoons, schmucks,- @sswipes – NO better than the MSM. They may as well be working for Obama!
Hello – Andrew, Glenn, anybody – you listening, looking, reading, realizing …?
I would just point out that GB has called in; and he is well aware of Scott Bakers attitude towards james okeefe.
they are altogether intolerant of other modes of journalism. STOP THE HATE GLENN stop the hate.
Good conversation Whats and Sis. I agree with your whole thread, they both appear to need to grow up a bit. Beck might go a little further and get rid of the libs at The Blaze but, I have a sneaking feeling he's trying to be a direct competitor to HuffPo.
That's just me though.
I don't think they are reading this, since they haven't kicked us out……..yet ! : D
Hey, Nick. I think Beck has always wanted to be looked upon as ideologically neutral. Not left, not right, maybe a little bit libertarian. I think he started following O'Reilly's playbook…….you know that phony "I'm an Independent" routine?
It is easier for women to apologize in a situation like this, easier to "talk" things out.
Chest puffing at its finest here.
The thing both BB and Beck don't realize, think of the powerful force if these two shared and coordinated to be THE opposition to the Left instead of "one" of the many.
It's not just you . . .
I've always thought that one day Beck would reveal himself to be a "Lonesome Rhodes" character. Is the day of revelation approaching?
Glenn Beck is to Radio & TV what Lyndon Larouche is to politics.
I don't care if they apologize to each other or not That's for liberal douchebags.
Actions not words are needed. They can hate each other in private all they want, but have the maturity to collaborate for the greater good.
Seems to me that's what the Founders did, and they were all guys! Well, they were grown-up guys. They did plenty of chest puffing, but they worked it out, for US.
You would think he would look at the polls and realize there are way more conservative or conservative leaning folks in this country than liberals. Why piss off your friends to make nice with the people who would rather see you dead?
Sure, he could pick topics that could be morally outrageous to both sides.Spencer Bachus springs to mind! But attacking (or allowing the attack) on O'Keefe goes against what Beck purports to stand for!
It's actually kinda' nutty!
Agreed but, much as I admire both men, they both strike me as "puffy chested" if you know what I mean!
It would be a bitch to get them talking!
3…2…
Thanks, Nick – tis the truth – which has no agenda. Bottom Line – they need to be on the same page.
Eh, never was a huge Beck fan anyway and this story really doesn't change my opinion of the guy. I find he and Hannity both tiresome and annoying, and I sure as Hell am not going to pay $9.99/month for his show now that he has his own business.
100% agree, Petro.
Excuse me but, I think that's pronounced "emoticon", Sis.
Have you considered that Glenn Beck is "channeling" Barak Obama and Ron Paul?
Barak Obama claimed that he never knew that the not-so-reverend Wright was a hate-monger during the 20 years he attended his church. That means he was either a liar and/or unfit to be president.
Paul claims that he was clueless about the content of his newsletter, which he promoted aggressively for profit, for something like 2 years.
BTW: This is hardly the sort of credential someone seeking to be the chief executive of the USA should glibly-present.
Beck's supporters use as their excuse that he delegated responsibility for the Blaze, part of what is supposed to be his alternative and trustworthy news programming, but had no idea that they were irresponsible ideologues?
And people are supposed to flock to his enterprise?
LOL! I almost wrote "emoticon", just to be silly. But, I wasn't sure if What's saw that video. If she hadn't, she would probably think I was retarded! : D
Ego can be both good and bad. Depends how you choose to use it.
True dat!
Grudge Report?
Beck doesn't get the same attention he received during his FoxNews show, before he was booted off, to a "better" outlet online somewhere…
I always thought of him as an entertainer first. not that there's anything wrong with that
Never been a fan of Beck; maybe this is why. O'Keefe and his team are heroes. They may very well be arrested for some technical violation of the law—it's happened before—but look at what they've exposed.
While Glenn Beck pontificates safely behind a microphone, people like O'Keefe are out there literally risking their freedom to save our country. Hats off to them!
His problem is more with Mike Flynn than O'Keefe, and he is using O'Keefe to get at Flynn.
Ironically, he is now (as is increasingly the case) in the boat with Gingrich – attacking the right with the arguments and tactics of the left.
Beck needs to sit back and gain some introspection on this feud. It is not helpful to any of our goals – including his own.
I love that song, and on the off chance that some folks may not know the words…
"Mares eat oats
And does eat oats
And little lambs eat ivy"
A kid'll eat ivy too, wouldn't you?
This has more to do with incompetent hiring practices, more than a Glenn Beck agenda.
He has unfortunately hired a bunch of progressive-leaning employees at the blaze.
I think he believes it gives him street cred with the main stream news outlets
I couldn't listen to Beck on the radio. He had (still has?) a couple of adolescent clowns that he bantered with endlessly, like a bunch of teenage boys, and on and on they went, giggling and guffawing, and never seemed to get to the point. I gave up in frustration. The one thing I think he did right was to be the first to expose that Van Jones commie that Obummer hired as one of his sleazy czars.
Limbaugh is the polar opposite of Beck, talks like an adult and straight at you. I never thought Beck would get anywhere, and from all these comments, he seems to be fading now. Fine with me. Seems to have lost his conservative focus anyway.
shame
I seems to me that a couple of "journalists" have copied the Republican Primary to a tee. Tear each other up as Big O rapes the country. Congrats, now refocus and go to work!
Glenn Beck sucks and yes, he really is paranoid. I used to think he might be getting a bum rap. Alas, there is a reason he's not on real tv anymore, like Keith Olbermann. Koooooooooookyyyy.
Poor Glenn… He used to be relevant, he used to be funny. Nothing good lasts…
I cancelled my subscription to GBTV when Beck called me a racist for supporting Newt, who he claimed is a "progressive" just like B.O.
Beck is either evil or insane.
Losing faith in humanity. One person at a time.
Please actually go read the article before you buy into this Alinskiessque hit piece? O-Keefe is even working with the Blaze to explain what was going on. Methinks the Bigs may be the ones envying here.
"The Blaze claims the New Hampshire attorney general is investigating O’Keefe"
I just read the Blaze article in question and fail to spot where it says that the New Hampshire is investigating O'Keefe. It share the opinion by some, like Nashua City Clerk Paul Bergeron who opines tha tO'Keefe's groud "Veritas" should be investigated but The Blaze also reported O'Keefe and Veritas defending their actions as having broken no law. In other words, it provides both sides.
Also, P.J Salvatoere in this thread provides a drect link to "The union Leader" as an apparent supporting detail in showing that The Blaze is misreporting what is being investigated n New Hampshire. But The Blaze article provides the exact same link and, again, makes not claim that Veristas is being investigated by the New Hampshere AG.
UPDATE: I just want to be accurate that The Blaze posted Okeefe's side asa nupdate which means that originally it wasn't there but it is now. It is still true that The Blaze did nt say that the New Hampshere AG was investigating O'Keefe or Veritas.
What began as reasoned discourse on topics of import, has now become nothing more than a shrill and irksome pettiness. Glen Beck is afflicted with some sort of mental malfunction and is no longer rational.
What is wrong with Mormon's? I never understood why people hate them.
I'll agree with that, as long as the same standard is applied to everyone else's website/publications.
I hate to say it, but I'm completely jealous of O'Keefe's courage and ingenuity.
Just read the actual law, (if you feel the need to check on a NH court's interpretation of any term or clause, search online or on Westlaw for cases).
Lawyers try to make you think their job is much more difficult and specialized than it actually is.
Unfortunately, law is just manipulation, which is why they succeed in convincing people.
Excellent point, NotKennedy, that "there was NO INTENT to deceive nor to violate any law." Intent, a mental state is "an essential element of a crime" (Criminal Law in Police Procedure textbook, albeit an old one).
OKeefe and his crew did not accept the ballots, and they did not exactly pass themselves off as the deceased voter(s); they asked whether there was a ballot for that name. The poll workers then likely assumed it was the named person asking, searched for the (deceased's) name and tried to hand him a ballot. O'Keefe and his crew declined to take the ballot(s), said they'd left their ID in the car or some such, and didn't want to vote without showing (their) ID..
GLENN BECK ABSOLUTEY IS THE BLAZE>
You linked to a writer at the Blaze but then you kept saying it was Glenn Beck. I'm so confused.
Is it the blaze or Glenn Beck that's saying this stuff? I mean, you wrote this article, not Andrew Breitbart. If I quote the article, i'm going to say, "P.J. Salvatore" said, not Andrew Breitbart.
Did I miss a link to something Glenn Beck said?
What article did you read? The one in The Blaze doesn't have Beck's by-line and I have never seen one that did.
Plus The Blaze falls under Scott Baker.
Ms. Morgenstern references 'phoney voters'. Wasn't that what they were? It seems that other than that paragraph everything else was taken from other sources.
Perhaps you could copy and italicize for the readers of your article the relevant part that you want us to understand from your point of view. I personally think O'Keefe should have used people that had been dead months instead of just a couple of weeks to prove his point.
Even if Morgenstern had a differing opinion of the story than you I thought we lived in the US where people were allowed to disagree without being called names.
Can we have the facts in print so we don't have to guess what you are talking about. I will check back in a few days to see the emphasized relevant part. I am sure I missed something in the article.
Beck who?
The Integrity of the ballot has the utmost priority in any Republic that elects it's represenatives.
“Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.” Plato
That last line was a great crescendo. Well done.
We The People see the work being done at the basest level, the street.
My faith was never in humanity but what was pointed out to me years ago is coming to fruition.
Decline.
Sorry, I don't have a link to give you but yes, Glenn Beck has personally (and viciously) attacked James O'Keefe in the past. I have no idea what his grudge is but it's really soured me on Beck. The right needs to wake up. I've never been a Romney supporter (you could call me one of those 'anybody but Romeny' people) but now I find myself defending him and even thinking of voting for him because of the outrageous and despicable attack on his time at Bain. The right is doing the left's job by viciously attacking the free market system with LIES!
He sure has some calm confidence!
Thanks!
Link please.
Or are we supposed to take your word for it? Not takin sides but you post a statement as fact, all caps for emphasis?, and expect us to chirp like crickets?
Should be easy enough to google the owner's name.
Sorry, but I've read that blaze article and I don't see the attack.
And being Mormon is relevant because………?
Hint:: it has nothing to do with anything except which church you attend?
"Starting"?
So I have heard. Beck has been right so often and perhaps he will be again, but protest voting is like aiming the pistol at your foot. You might lose a toe that way.
We have a winner…
We all read Jame's article. It was valuable but it is a "gray area" because James used a false name to obtain a ballot. That's not legal in any state.
I'm sure he knew the risk and felt it was worth it. He will either be sued or not. Either way NH looses big time. They gave a dead guy a ballot and refused to check his ID.
BUSTED!!!
As for this story….you two guys grow up! Quit dragging this schoolyard p***in match to my door.
Tell you the truth, Im beginning to wonder if Beck is jealous of the success OKeefe is having. OKeefe is now 4-0 in exposing the left. Beck has basically disappeared after leaving Fox News.
Protest voting?
