Jews identify with oppressed peoples. That and they are predominantly found in cosmopolitan liberal mecca's like New York City.
It only looks bad in the context of PR. In the context of war they should do more than just pee on them. Anything that can be used to demoralize and scare the enemy in order to gain the psychological advantage should be used. This is life and death, not TV. One of the key reasons Prince Vlad was so successful is because he left his enemies heads on spikes all around his kingdom.
As it stands the Taliban and the rest of their fundamentalist cohorts have had the psychological advantage over our guys since day one. Same with the Viet Cong and NVA during Vietnam. That's why smaller forces can smash larger ones. I think this is the argument Kurtz made in Apocalypse Now when he tells Willard the story about the pile of innoculated arms. The reason our forces cant seem to make headway is because they are forced to comply with pissant rules of engagement even while fighting a barbaric enemy that will stop at nothing and knows no boundaries in order to achieve victory.

The four marines were snipers. The Taliban appeared to have been blown up. The four marines were likely posing in front of someone elses "road" kill. Peeing here is like a person standing besides someone elses fish. They are cowards. I would have prefered to see these boys peeing on armed enemies. Like a true marine would.
If the miltary had their way, they would still lose wars. Their soldiers are simply not cut out to be monsters that you seem to want. They are brought up to be decent civilized people, get to do a bit of killing while hoping not to get killed or maimed for god and country and then return home for turkey dinners with ma, pa and probably some invited poor person brought in to share the bounty with.
I like that about america. I am sure however that the United States cannot avoid getting involved in these dirty little wars. Their honour demands this as does their conscience. I see this need distilled into something palatable to the voting politicians, i.e., the grand strategy of FDR where war acts are linked to national interest, but I also see in these things an underlying need for America and the boys and girls fighting these horrible little wars, to do something good.
This is why I think that people like me who are not americans but love the ideals of the american way founded as it is in liberty and decency, are so shocked when we see this sort of display.
