Headlines like the ones below tell the story:
“Democrats point fingers after stunning loss”
“GOP Senate Victory Stuns Democrats”
“In Stunning Upset, GOP’s Brown Wins Mass. Seat“

Etc.
In one sense, yes, Scott Brown’s victory over Martha Coakley was stunning: In the bluest of blue states in the bluest region of the nation, voters rejected the Democrats’ — and Obama’s — agenda, sending a Republican to the Senate whom they hope will help stem the waves of left-wing socialism upon which our president, accompanied by a majority in Congress, has been bodysurfing since he came to office, despite campaigning as a moderate who would govern from the center.
On the other hand, if you’ve been paying attention to the growing tide of anger and resentment against Washington elitists who have lost touch with their constituents, then Brown’s win was not stunning, but a logical outcome. Unfortunately, many of those who task themselves with bringing us the news each and every day seem to be as out of touch with their audience as the Washington elites they cover.
They continue to call citizens who rallied round the Tea Party movement “tea baggers,” a derogatory term in more ways than one. And other than laughing and sneering at “tea baggers,” major news outlets largely ignored the tea party movement.
Former Clinton advisor David Gergen, who went on to a career as a political analyst on television, asked Brown during his debate with Coakley if he was “willing … to say, I’m going to be the person, I’m going to sit in Teddy Kennedy’s seat and I’m going to be the person who’s going to block it for another 15 years?” Brown (now famously) answered that it wasn’t the Kennedy seat, but “the people’s seat.”
And, in the final days leading up to the special Massachusetts election, MSNBC’s David Shuster wondered this:
Obviously these folks don’t pay attention to facts like “conservatives are the single-largest ideological group.” Considering they’re supposed to be in the business of reporting facts, that’s a bit disturbing.
I don’t agree with Mika Brzezinski about much, but I do endorse her refreshing suggestion that journalists “need to stop pretending about who we are and every journalist should tell us what their political affiliation is, who they voted for, and we go from there.” It’s impossible to be completely objective, especially when a majority of your colleagues think the same way you do. Stop treating your customers, the American people, like children who cannot think for themselves.
But don’t count on it happening anytime soon. Roger Ebert – granted, a movie critic and not a “serious journalist,” but who enjoys using his position to comment on the issues of the day – Tweeted Massachusetts to Teddy: “F–k You.” And Keith Olbermann who, thankfully, is really in a class all by himself, inferred that the Brown win (or even a loss but a close race) meant that Massachusetts is suddenly full of racists. And in the same conversation, Howard Fineman said that things like Brown’s pickup truck are some sort of racist code.
These people just don’t get it. Which is why they will continue to be marginalized in the days, weeks and months to come.

Their heads are so far up their butts is the reason why……
Senior White House adviser David Axelrod and deputy chief of staff Jim Messina told senators “If you get hit, we will punch back twice as hard.”
And ranting lunatic idiot Breitbart-following stoopid-posting Dave Rooney said "if they twice as hard then we will hit THRICE as hard!"
Um. Ax. Rahm. Mr. Messina. BALL IS IN YOUR COURT!
listen- it's either 'stunning' or it's not a story…
They can't have it both ways. Either the left is scratching their collective heads in disbelief or they are pretending this Never Happened.
It did, and it was entirely predictable…
The Sleazy Elitist need to wake up. Both Media the Democrats and do I dare say it, Sleazy Republicans. This election to me was about getting rid of Sleazy Elitists.
Nice Ellie.
These Progressive swines sowed the wind now their reaping the whirl wind and they don't like it. Hang on to your draws cause there 's a Typhoon a coming.
It's like the abusive, self-serving patrner saying " I can't believe he/she left me. I was so good for her/him." They're all out of touch and will pay a hefty price in the end. That includes Republicans who are RINO's and the slobbering media, who like fools still defend their choice of the Userper in the 2008 election. The truth will prevail and the good, honest, hard working people who have been finacially raped this past year will prevail. MASS has proven this.
The only ones stunned by Browns win, were those so out of touch with the public, that they don't have a clue. Namely, everyone inside the beltway………..
Let them continue their derangement. Makes thrashing them in Nov that much easier..Blinders are standard equipment stupid donkeys….
This was not a republican victory. This was a unaffiliated victory for there was not enough republicans to win election. Brown must keep his promise or he will be gone that is the power of being unaffiliated. Without a party to re-elect the politician must keep their word or be gone.
41% still don’t see the tea party favorably for they see it as a republican movement not a non partisan movement.
America is not a conservative country but we are a frugal and compassionate country. Our compassion is tied to personal responsibility.. Far to often our politicians have used other peoples money in their compassion for their political causes. America is give me my money back and I will help my neighbor who is being responsible but needs help, but forced compassion is slavery.
The MSM and the left do not realize they are on and ideological version of the Titanic and that it has been sinking for some time now.
They thought that their ideology was finally unsinkable, despite the ice bergs, despite the klaxons, despite the life boats starting to launch.
With freezing water starting to swirl around their ankles they are starting to get it.
Instead of heading to the lifeboats they are busily trying to put out press releases on how the Captain and the crew of Titanic need some retraining.
Excuse me…What did you say??
I hope it continues to stun them. I dont want them to have a clue (if that is even possible).
Well.. it was an "unexpected" result in a "historic" race ..aren't those the media words of the year?
I wish they'd bring back gravitas… remember when they latched on to that word?
I disagree. Poll after poll after poll has shown we are a conservative country.
Wow, it can never be that the voters have rejected what the dems have to offer.
It's always something either wrong with the voters (lost their mind, gun toters, tea partiers, Bible thumpers, etc) or the election was stolen by illegal activities(or stolen by the courts).
That's a great attitude for them to have.
It will serve dear leader and America well, once again, this November.
Good for Massachusetts. Good for America.
Hopefully, and the indicators are, the Dems will not learn anything from this.
It somehow has to be Bush's fault.
I am personally astonished that Brown won considering the SEIU/ACORN Axis had set up shop. The corruption
that was evident in the 2008 presidential election and ignored didn't bode well for future legitiment elections. I
am somewhat relieved, maybe we have turned a corner but I suggest vigilence.
Times are a changing – the libs aren't even trying to hide their attitude or their agenda – that is the one positive out of the Messiah being anointed. Hopefully, there will be a collective flushing sound from D.C. come November. I noticed the libs are a little less sure of themselves since last night. Bwhaaaaaa! We're comin' for ya statists!
check how the polls are worded. I Have talk to and read the words of 1000s of people across this country and across the spectrum.. frugal is not conservative, compassion is not conservative.. but most people are frugal and most have a compassion to spend some one elses money. When you talk of conservative it has a different meaning than to most of American..
I can tell a journalist's affiliation within 15 seconds of their lips moving, and many times even without their lips moving. A San Fran Liberal has a certain kind of sneer that is unmistakable. No need to disclose their party. Now, if you are talking about Public television and NPR, yes some reforms are necessary if any taxpayer dollars are used to sponsor them.
You couldn't be more correct.
Gibbs blamed it on Bush this afternoon.
I know most here are not fond of Twitter, but we had a ball over there last night. And it was not just the Media that was stunned but, the rank and file progressives as well.
'unprecedented'
'rise to the level of'
the list goes on and on…
it's like these idiots get new memory chips from HQ installed every so often and you just have to pull the strings in their backs. yeah, what a bunch of independent thinkers, huh?
. We're stuck with Obama for 3 more years, and the MSM for at least a generation, but we can sweep out many of the corrupt congress people in Nov….. I hope this MA story has long legs…..But the MSM are deaf, dumb, and blind and so in the democrat tank, they don't see reality…
LameStreamers remind me of fish in water who are so accustomed to being wet, they don't even realize that they are. It's going to be a long 3 years…
Some reason's they're spinning the election is not a referendum on Obama & why Coakley croaked and lost the election. Massachusetts does not elect women. Coakley ran a horrible campaign, (Shilling is a Yankee fan, Doctors & nurses can practice their religious freedom just don't work in the ER, her GOON knocking down a reporter in front of her & she denies she knew anything about it)But the main reason she lost according to Obama "IT WAS BUSH'S FAULT."
We are crushing them and leaving them the desert…. We are pounding them into dust. Our army is superior in every way the foriegn invaders are getting crushed….. What ever happened Bob? Anyways this is sounding familiar.
They never accepted the tea party movement as legitimate, so there is no way that they can see the logical progression from town halls, to 9-12 tea parties, to New Jersey, Virginia, and especially Scott Brown/Massachusetts. The tea party movement put the healthcare takeover on hold last summer, not realizing then that Massachusetts was who we were waiting for. Then, Scott Brown raked in millions of dollars from around the country from thousands of tea party patriots in the 2 weeks leading up to the election–small donations add up. He is now the 41st vote against the big government takeover and can hopefully keep things on hold until the midterm elections. This was just the beginning. A political earthquake is coming and the MSM is clueless! We are on the march to take our country back. Thanks Massachusetts!!
To hear some today, the reason Brown won was hold over resentment of Bush.
Talk about out of touch: voters are so resentful of Bush, they went out and elected a Republican !!
Thanks!
We need another Senator McCarthy to root out subversives from Colleges, Hollywood, and Journalism.
Oh, I am sure it was 'stunning'….and 'unprecedented'…and maybe even 'historic'. LOL! I am so tired of the over-used rhetoric. It would be nice if some of the papers had headlines about how this was a referendum on Obama and the progressive Big Spending Big Taxing Congress.
Yeah, the citizens of Massachusetts were so unhappy with Bush and his Republican administration that they elected a…wait for it….wait for it….Republican!
Obama stated that 'the buck stops here [with me]", yet he can't stop blaming Bush. Someone needs to remind Obama that losers make excuses….winners make things happen.
I agree. There is a long line of insults that the voters had to endure that was coming from the ruling class. Starting from the "special Olympics" insult, going though "acted stupidly" and finishing with "everybody can have a truck" the President and his elite educated friends just don't get it. When times a tough all that the man is left with is his dignity. Take it away and wait for the masses at your door.
.
The outrage is deservedly directed at the media and Obama. They are the same.
MSM only pretends to be out of touch. They have been ignoring and projecting denial, that any opposition exists outside the GOP in congress. They pretend the Tea Party Protestors don't exist, even though we've been beating on the doors of Washington and the media outlets — remember protest media day? They know.
MSM is protecting Obama so he can do a government bail out of journalism in exchange for more propaganda.
Both their games are up.
.
Just for kicks, I turned on SLIMEY msnbc after the results of the Massachusstts VICTORY FOR ALL OF AMERICA were in. I never watch the LOONY TOON SLANTED libRETARDS on that station but I was curious. rachel MADCOW was on with chris "THRILL UP THE LEG" mathews. I thought they were going to choke when they had to announce the AP had declared Scott Brown the winner. They were both PATHETIC AND REPULSIVE! I missed the "IMPERIAL WIZARD OF BS" olbermann, but from what I see and hear, he was probably fit to be tied! Probably didn't take his medication early enough! I cannot believe people actually watch these CLOWNS on msnbc. They lack intellect and integrity, and their ratings prove it. No matter how they try to deny it.
Andrew Breitbart for Senate?
I've heard absolutely nothing from or about Zogby and his incredibly inept polling prediction for Coakley. His pick in light of the huge spread was a huge warning that whatever his methodology is, it's not scientific and accurate. Perhaps it's true that Zogby has been making it up all along.
It appears that the MSM, in addition to being totally out of touch with reality, is also not very bright.
If average Americans who oppose this mad dash to Socialism are “tea baggers”, then just who does the MSM think the “tea baggees” are?
Well here's what Zogby's been doing since he got his prediction and credibility trounced… Poll: Despite Falling Poll Numbers, Obama would beat Cheyney
http://preview.tinyurl.com/ybthsnh
Wow. He has to dig that far to save face for his boss Obama? "Hey Barry, the bad news is that everyone hates your radical progressivist ass. But the good news is that if you were in a race with Darth Vader or Dick Cheyney, you'd win! What? No, Stalin and Mussolini still kick your butt. Yea, people find them to be more moderate and less pathological."
The state media continue to operate on the assumption that if they say it, it will be true. And they believe their own reporting. It is a blind and vacuous circle.
Is it just me or does David Shuster remind you of Jughead from the Archie comics.
after November, beloved leader will be the first lame-duck president with 3 years left in his term
I think it happened so fast, it blindsided them….To late to get the welfare voters out of bed…
After Nov, it will be 2 years….Don't make it seem any longer then it already is…:-).
The LSM (lame stream media) does not get it at all. I never watch their bias agenda. A wonderful thing did happen in 2009 more people discovered the absolute nonsense that most networks report. News and honest journalism has become a minority in media voice. However, study the close correlation of corruption in politics and liberal left media coverage and you can't deny the factors of cohesion and collusion.
they sure dont i want deval patrick out i wish romney would stay here campiagn starting at the victory rally id vote for him for governor again right now! they keep there was protestors everywhere when bush was here i certainly wasnt a fan of his 2nd term but no one called the racists or tbaggers or unamerican(pelosi on townhalls) these town halls are getting heated these dems keep this crap rhetoric up no kevin jennings or acorn in msm in a recession now a depression im very conservativly balancing my budget to break even and pay my bills! i wonder How many dem voters have medicare!!!! a crap load and scott brown was and immediate vote to block medicare cuts to our elders who also got out the vote! keep calling these racist tbagging rhetoric machine rolling! thinking this was a fluke i didn't know brown much before the debate but he wasnt a fluke hes my savior fron the lunacy my voice now he's my senator! he in washington today he flew to my rescue in his truck! show these people how stupid they are put a tea party in boston this summer near the 4th of july maybe even the 4th of july i'll be they're with my mind open and my ears! thats what this election means!

It looks like the ball belongs to Massachusetts’s Scott Brown, and he’s making the rules.
The conservatives in Washington need to fast track Brown….he can beat Obama in 2012
Sure – right now, he has the same qualifications that Obama did.
And yet, still today, Obama is blaming the Scott win on the Bush administration…"The people are still angry over the last 8 years"…Really??? If there was even a smidgen of truth in that statement…WHY did Mass. elect a REPUBLICAN/CONSERVATIVE ????? He will stay in denial throughout his presidency, he was NEVER taught to lose graciously, or even to admit to doing anything wrong!!! This is a ONE term president…unless we can find a way to impeach him!!!
Geez herbie, how can you type that much and never hit one period or comma? I'm not usually a grammar nazi, but these posts are unreadable.
It is especially satisfying that Scott Brown was clever enough to pick up David Gergen's "gotcha" question about Ted's holy senate seat and knock it out of the park with his "…its the People's Seat!" response.
Its interesting as David Gergen (and others of the MSM) try to subtly tear Brown back down again as I've heard him as a talking head on TV. It will be much more difficult for them to smear Brown like they did with Palin. (They are already trying.)
I agree – US politics are not seperated by party any longer unless your a politician (elitist) – they are however a difference in beliefs, principles, morals, obligations and expectations. This has been lost and needs to be re-instituted in order to get back on track. I like what the Repub's are doing now but why did it take a pair like Obama/Pelosi to get them there?
