In Jordan Fabian’s post, “ACORN: O’Keefe couldn’t have deserved it more“ of January 26th, 2010, Fabian refers to a wiretapping attempt by James O’Keefe and three other conservative activists at the offices of Sen. Mary Landrieu:
ACORN took to Twitter to express its satisfaction with O’Keefe’s arrest with three other individuals after they were caught attempting to wiretap the New Orleans office of Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.):
There are no allegations of any wiretap plot in the FBI affidavit, and a law enforcement official has conceded that the four men were not attempting to wiretap or intercept calls. Furthermore, legal representation for the accused has gone on record stating there were no intentions to tap phones in the Senator’s office.
We kindly ask you to issue a correction/retraction to the story.
We have been/will be making similar requests of other news sources to correct similar errors. Some, such as the Washington Post, MSNBC’s David Shuster, Talking Points Memo, and CBS News already have posted corrections or retractions.

Obviously certain segments of screed journalism will fashion the "New Orleans Prank" into vinication of a nation wide criminal organization that inhales federal tax money and exhales Democrat votes.
Problem is, the two are unrelated. Seeing why a U.S. Senator's office DOESN'T answer the phone calls of it's angry constiuients is unrelated to voter registration fraud and the twisting and manipulation of our tax code to favor certain groups.
ACORN must be shut down regarless of what is happening in the offices of "Scary Mary".
The media desperately flailing for some kind of "Watergate 2" incident is actually rather funny, and alarming since it shows just how little actual research goes into their stories, aside from visits to Media Matters and Daily Kos. Heck, even Wikipedia would be a better source.
And what is it for? To protect ACORN, one of the most corrupt organizations in America? Or is it to try and give Obama and the Dems some wiggle room?
This is little more than business as usual for the HP and others of their ilk. They have no shame and we would be irresponsible to assume that they did. Although O'keefe has expended great effort to expose the vile nature of ACORN, the party of immorality doesn't care and can only see increasing numbers on the voter rolls.
Don't hold your breath for a retraction.
Better send one to Fox News as the Hannity promo for Mondays interview with James O'Keefe clearly states he was "Arrested for Wiretapping a senators office" .. I can't remember the exact wording as I was hollering at the TV but they clearly stated the arrested for wiretapping part..

It's only because THAT'S WHAT THEY WOULD DO… it's the mirror thinking they use, because they have no ethics or morals and because their ends justify their means, this is how they believe WE think…
They probably believe Hannah would have gone to bed with someone for money to entrap them with video… because that's what THEY would do… they automatically think James is up to the worst skullduggery when he's actually trying to root it OUT and expose it to sunlight…
all this said, what an awful idea to pretend to be phone repairmen… especially since his own face was likely to be recognized, and since one rarely sees such young phone repairmen and in such numbers… it was ill conceived and probably illegal on some small level…
But the truth is already out there… Landrieu's staff weren't answering phones for WEEKS, and claimed there was something wrong with them. That ALONE sounds like Barbra Streisand, and James was right to try to expose the truth, which is sort of obvious…
I'm still waiting for a retraction from Walter Cronkite for his grossly inaccurate coverage of the Tet Offensive.
Too many "journalists" and not enough reporters.
The report, stripped of its “wiretapping” nonsense, was that O’Keefe went into Landrieu’s office with four witnesses, while a fifth stayed outside with a “communications device”.
So there you have it — a CONSPIRACY — to test Landrieu’s phone (and veracity), just like the REAL JOURNALISTS were supposed to do?
I just love your new alpaca Andrew! Holding the journalists accountable for their exact pronouncements is sure to make them crazier. I do have one thing I'd like to add. I believe that alpaca, like llamas, send to hum a little when they're content. I think you should put a sound track for Retracto because I'm certainly happy to see this.
