The elephant in the room should be anchoring the evening news.
Seriously. I never cease to be amazed how those who say they are there to protect us are totally unable to see what is killing them. Oh, viewers will be told to watch out for mad cow disease and deadly tennis rackets (you’ve seen the promos), while those same “experts” are incapable of self reflection. Right now, the media needs the paddles but they refuse to call the EMT.

One of two things is happening here; a) The leftist activist old media is on a mission to push their agenda and nothing else matters, or b) they really don’t know what they’re doing and the stories just take on a life of their own and like NASCAR , they just happen to take left turns nearly all the time.
I’ll take the former on this one. I’m not going to bother debating whether the activist old media turns left. It’s all well documented here on Bigjournalism.com and elsewhere. Besides, you know what you know, you see what you see, and you’ve figured this out long ago. I do wonder if the activist old media would rather see their businesses destroyed than to admit they have a bias. Perhaps. What good is fair and balanced coverage when you believe your purpose is to save the world from Evil Fat Cat Bankers? Bernie Madoff stealing $50 billion leads the newscasts, but the Obama Administration stealing $1.8 trillion from our grandchildren falls on the cutting room floor.
The ratings don’t lie. Fox News destroys its “competition.” CNN had a 20-year head start and its numbers don’t come close, MSNBC has the power of NBC news behind them its numbers are in the toilet. Do they think Fox beats both of them combined because they have better graphics?
Evening newscasts are in a ratings freefall. Let’s blame that on George W. Bush just because we’ve gone half way through this column and haven’t blamed him yet.

Air America files for bankruptcy while conservative talk radio is as strong as ever. It must be the advertising sales force…ya, that’s it… Air America just had a bad sales staff.
Newspapers are another issue altogether. Certainly the internet has eaten into the print business, but how many times can the New York Times tell me the planet is warming when it is actually cooling before they lose credibility?
Did the activist old media think that we were not paying attention during the last election and we couldn’t see them slobbering over Obama?
It’s amazing the efforts media takes to try to figure out why people watch, listen or read what they do. The analysis that takes place, the consultants, the dollars that are spent and the effort that goes into research of whether to use Blue #2 or Blue #3 on the graphics would shock you. Meantime, if they just provided honest, balanced coverage, you watch what would happen. Eyeballs would return to screens.
This is not a fun thing to watch. After spending 30 years in TV news it’s like watching a close friend do a slow crash and burn. Everybody knows it, can see it, they know what needs to be done, except for the friend. Eyes wide shut. Yes, it is the elephant in the room that the media will never address, and it is an elephant, not a donkey.
Perhaps that’s why it’s so hard for the media to see it.

I stopped watching CNN when they used profane language to describe Tea Party participants. I stopped watching MSNBC when they demonstrated themselves to be the Obamapologist Network. ABC, NBC, and CBS are no better. They are the propaganda press, dedicated to the destruction of our Republic and our liberty. We must ignore them and move on.
Eyes wide shut indeed. The MSM was paid off before the elections and now have no choice but to tow the line regarding the Leftist agenda. Besides, the Olberidiot and Madcow are perfect participants in their hysteria to promote the cause. Maybe Comcast as a new owner of NBC will not be obliged to honor the contract between the network and Obama and will make some hard core decisions to eliminate the reporters who have socialist rabies. Although, what decent journalist would want to work for NBC now even if approached?
You've got that right! And what's even harder for the media to see – is the more they blindly push their "agenda", and propagandize their messages, while reality is totally contacting them for everyone to see, right there in the window over their shoulder, like Bagdad Bob, the more they are now actually doing the opposite. As they try with all their might to keep the fantasy going, the more they expose their "agenda" for the total joke it is to everyone
I quit watching cbs abc nbc…after/during Reagan. cable seemed to be the answer for news collection afterwards..alas I was mistaken with the likes of Headline news and cnn. But…guess who was there , yes,…El Rushbo the Magnificent..the bane of the clintons and rinos
Most of the news I peruse is through the internet.
Fox is a breath of fresh air…
After all that said and done goofy Chris Mathews made that dumb remark about Nobama almost being white.
First the tingling of his leg and now race baiting. and they call this news.
From time to time, journos and other Self-Appointed Very Important People would have a seminar on Public Television or someplace.
They'd talk about the disconnect between them and the public.
After a bunch of profound chin-pulling, they'd always come to the same conclusion. The reading public is afflicted with fetal alchol syndrome.
"Oh the times they are a changing……" Dillion singing in the background…..The Progressives finally have their time under the sun. But the horizon is becoming grayer by the minute and the grayness I see is not their success but their demise. Oh you gotta love capitalism! The MSM could not die to soon for me.
MSNBC made it to my "SKIP CHANNEL" list when Chris Matthews had his first public shiver. CNN went on the list when their anchors first drooled at the sight of candidate Obama, and Anderson Cooper fantasized of being a fey Edward R. Murrow. I can't see those channels, even accidentally.
NBC, CBS, and ABC are occasionally viewed to catch some good TV, but go off whenever a newsy segment comes on. Whenever I hear Keith Olbermann during a football game, I change the channel and watch the highlights on the evening news.
It's not been lost on me that guys like Beck, Stossel, Imus (and possibly Dobbs) have migrated to FOX cable — not because they were enamored with FOX as much as they were despised at their former organizations.
(more to follow …)
I've become so disgusted with the self-entitled, self-indulgent, collectivist movement (in all of their diverse incarnations) that I can't help but turn off the Democratic or leftist rebuttal offered as part of FOX's "fair and balanced" broadcasting.
The MSM, and bloated self-interested pigs like Obama, Reid, Schumer, Pelosi, Waxman, Conyers, Michael Moore, Janeane Garofalo, and Al "The Ass" Franken, have me at the point of sharpening the tines of my pitchfork and readying my torch for lighting.
Despite having four academic degrees, being a disabled veteran, being a health professional, performing community service because I like to help others — I'm a fake, astroturf, an unschooled Neanderthal, a terrorist, a racist. Normally, name-calling has no impact on me. But when everything that I've worked to build, including supporting and defending this Constitutional Republic is publicly reviled by the nation's new leaders, and hordes of media and union thugs, I can't let it go. These people mean me harm. They've said so. (One more thing …)
I can't let these folks pump my mind full of canned mistruths and marginalize my life's efforts. If the Lefties want to keep on the current paths of health care, cap and trade, global small arms restriction, and global governance, I must treat them as a clear and present danger to this country, and to block their propaganda from my home.
In my mind, the MSM is dead — a suicide by a thousand cuts. They brought aid and support to our country's enemies, so I won't rush to help them. There are other First Amendment media. It's time for the old school to go.
Thanks for reading.
It is quite obvious old media is pushing their own pathetic elitist agenda while at the same time the power in the WH has not got a clue we won't permit. Kind of like tht perfect political storm. A-ssinine idiots is our reality until we can do something about it.
beneath journalistic integrity…intolerant…rabid…distasteful…anti-intellectual…dogs and cats…jeering militant vegans with guns…fuppa fuppa fuppa…

They don't care about ratings at MSNBC. You don't expect propoganda to get high ratings, but it serves it's purpose well.
I saw this somewhere else but here goes the paraphrase…..The MSM, like fish in water, are sooo far left, they don't even realize they're wet….
Hard to change when you fail to see any reason to change
The first smart MSM CEO that develops a pair and starts reporting the news fairly and not thru an ideological prism, that means telling the entire story, just the facts, mam, will slaughter the the others in the ratings….thus giving FOX some competition
It's inevitable…
You should have said, Air America files for bankruptcy while conservative radio judges the Miss America contest. Much more funny, and the truth. Real women prefer conservative men anyway.
Truthfully, it's been so long since I put any credence in the MSM I can't remember exacly when I realized they were selling me a bill of goods. I suppose like kirkcheated wrote it was during the Reagon years. I still remember the way they treated him. It was a long time in the wilderness, trying to get accurate infomation.
What a blessing Rush and talk radio was and now the new media led in my mind by Breitbart, but by no means exclusive to, and all the internet sites where everyone has their chance to be heard.
Great screen name. I'm also red white and Jew. I gather there were about 22% of us nationwide in the election of 2008 but that may hopefully, as someone who quoted Dylan here said, "be a changin…"
You know, I used to care about this bias thing…
Now, not only do I not care, but I hope they keep it up…
I mean, if you are dead set to contribute to your own irrelevancy, I really don't think its productive, (or in the Conservative's best interest), to try to help them steer out of that particular skid…
The world would really be much better off with racist leg-tinglers and such staying on their particular network news failures…not trying to go mainstream…

If you go back and look at the history of the major news organizations, CBS and NBC have always been staffed by liberal talent, going back to the 1940s, even though they didn't show their biases as overtly as in the past 30 years. The ironic thing is when you look at the challengers who have risen up against then — first ABC in the late 60s and early 70s and then CNN in the early 80s — they both started out with the same basic idea as Fox News, to be if not the 'conservative' option, at the very least to be the more 'fair and balanced' one.
Both were co-opted the more successful they got, usually through outside hires who supposedly knew how to run a new organization (though Ted Turner's schmoozing with the Hollywood crowd after his MGM purchase went a long way towards his and CNN's 1986 conversion). That's the trap Fox hasn't fallen into, in large part because Roger Ailes has helmed the network since it's inception in 1996 (or 1994, if you Robert Reich). It's not that Ailes is hostile to liberals — if that was the case, Sheppard Smith would have been canned by now for his various statements over the past four years — but Ailes knows that if not watched carefully, Fox would end up being co-opted and drifting leftward as well, while the new managers deluded themselves into believing the audience would follow (or if they didn't, the audience was too stupid to want, anyway, because news really isn't about ratings, it's about The Truth).
What would be fun to see is an Alies-like figure being installed as head of one of the other networks with a mission to move the news division at least towards the middle in order to boost ratings. That poor soul would end up being deominized in Bush/Palin-like terms, which would continue even if the network's news showed 20 percent of more gains in viewership.
The MSM is great entertainment folks
MSNBS- KIETH RABID DOBERMAN & RACHEL MADCOW SHOW
CBS- KATIE KORAN CURIC show
ABC-PALESTINE PETE JENNINGS show
NBC- MATT LIAR in the morning show
WYATT
Oh, since we're sharing…
I wrote off CBS when the Supreme Court struck down a Michigan university's racial quota system, and Dan Rather introduced the story thus: "Today, in a blow to civil rights,…" (Click.)
ABC they aired the names of the dead each night during Bush 43's tenure (by the way, they discontinued the practice about one year ago. Hmmm) (Click.)
NBC, when I learned that Jane Pauley had been introduced to future husband Garry Trudeau by Tom Brokaw — at a Democratic Party fund raiser that all three attended as supporters (not as reporters).
NPR when I realized that nearly every story was pro-perversion or anti-Christian.
CNN when I found out that they had gotten exclusive in-country reporting privileges during our "first" Iraq war by promising to run no stories that portrayed Hussein in a negative light. (Come to think of it, that is true of the MSM today — just a different Hussein. Sorry, couldn't resist.)
PBS when Robin McNeil (sp?) retired.
Fox News, when at the urging of the Bush 43 administration, they changed from the descriptive phrase "suicide bomber" to the totally BS propaganda phrase "Homicide Bomber."
Current source? Breitbart, of course.
In 1980 I watchedc a broadcast of NBC News in which they covered a speech by Ronald Reagan to Iowa Farmers. I had seen the same speech earlier in the day and Reagan was received with a lot of applause. Now NBC covers the speech and they conveniently EDITED out all the applause, so it appeared the farmers received Reagan stony faced and silent. I was so incensed at the obvious attempt to skew coverage I called NBCNEws in NY while they were still on the air. I will never forget the voice that talked with me. It was thick with arrogance. It was so obvious he was saying, "What do I care what you think. There is no one else on the air!"
Well now times have changed. They aren't the only news on the air. Yet, their arrogance will not allow them to accept this reality and change with the times. They deserve extinction like every dinosaur that can't adapt with the times.
The real reason "it’s so hard for the media to see it" is that their eyes are covered with cream from all the time they've been lined up on their knees waiting for the chance to brew some black tea.
RedWhiteAndJew! That screen name alone deserves a thumbs up!
That bent the needle on the TMI meter. 750ml of brain wash, stat!
A business gets a good reputation by providing good service. Broadcast TV news spent thirty years building up a reputation for supplying (apparently) objective, relevant reporting. At some point (and you might as well peg it at the night Walter Cronkite decided to come out against the Vietnam War), they began abusing the reputation and tearing it down. There's not much left of it now.
The old media are like the "lords and ladies" in "The Emperor's New Clothes"- only the "smartest", most "progressive", most "sophisticated" people can "see" the fine raiment the Emperor is wearing, so, lest they appear to belong to the "lower" classes from whence they came, the talking heads "see" the righteousness of Obama and the far Left. The problem for them is that Fox and the new media are shouting, "He's NAKED!"
ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and CNN, the NYT. LAT etc all wish they lived in a European socialist country. FOX and the WSJ are happy living in an individualistic, capitalist America. FOX and the WSJ rule and the others are going bankrupt. What a surprise.
Look for the MSM bailouts soon….
A local radio host in Phoenix described why liberal talk radio would fail. That the callers(audience) would rip apart the host's commentary. Since radio is theater of the mind, it requires it's audience to think. Thus the liberal subjects(beliefs) cannot work since it's filled with hypocrisy, and the audience sees right through it. This must now be working in television and print, their audience is dropping because the reports are are not matching what people are seeing and experiencing. The biggest shame in all of this is the big media people are missing out on the stories of a life time. The sort of stories that really sell papers, I guess these people have better things to do than make money and forward careers.
One thing for you guys who are listing to a local lib host who is loosing control of his show. Call in and get the line into the conversation, "it's not raining here". That will cause a very funny cascade in the guys show.
The MSM are classless pigs.
If one MSM TV network stops with the nonsense and does honest reporting, the others will have to follow….Thereby, dismanteling the lie machine that keeps this administration in power.,,
If an Obamba-drone hears the real facts on CBS/ABC/NBC etc…They may think about things differently i.e ClimateGate….We can only hope..
A poll I saw a few days ago said it all: FoxNews was the only news show where a higher percentage of people believed it than didn't. The American people trust only one network for news — and it ain't CBS.
The media is going by the good old Alinsky theory, when things get tough step on the accelerator, double down, don't show weakness.
I'm just curious, what is your objection to the use of homicide bomber? Personally I thought it was a better term for those murdering cowards, but I'd like to understand why you object to it. There is quite possibly some way of looking at it that I've missed.
Another hilarious point about FNC's domination (that you rarely here) is when that little cable news division started up 11 or so years ago the other Big Guns in the media just laughed and mocked…. AAWWWW lookit the wittle cable neewws channel. The all predicted an epic fail… That market was just to tight to squeeze into etc… Well… The Chickens Have Come Home To Roost!!!
I haven't watched CNN since Bernie Shaw was there. I stopped watching MSNBC and blocked that station on all the TVs in our house when Larry O'Donnell called John O'Neil a lying liar, over and over again, back in 2004. I sent an email and told them that if O'Donnell ever came on again that would be the last time I would watch. He did and I quit! Those stations have lose all credibility.
The MSM views itself as part of the power in DC and thus acts like a representative and not as a free press. It so happens our Press "representatives" are Democrats. This is quite obvious. The press is supposed to be a check on power, not promoter. Until the MSM moves back to a position of true independence, they will continue to deteriorate. If they do not check the power, then what do we need them for? The information is already on the internet. The MSM has no value added at present.
America is split between people who think government should provide for everyone and people who think government is a large source of problems. For the moment, more and more people are gravitating toward the viewpoint that whatever the situation out and out socialism, as advocated by the far left (and the current Democratic leadership), is not what they want.
.
They have no choice now but to help Obama succeed — they are desperately hoping to get bailed out.
They want $30 Billion per year.

Which MSM will be the first to change is philosophy, and begin to compete with FOX news? I think Comcast will gut NBC and move toward Fair and Balanced type network news.(They have nothing to lose, they are like the Detroit Lions of Network Newscasts)
The hillarious thing here is that the MSM really believe that the reason Fox is beating the crap out of them is that they have to report "real news" straight down the middle while Fox ("which is not a real news org you see") can devolve a story into it basic right wing Black and white "caveman" components. This appeals more to us unwashed, unsophisticated, uneducated bigots out in flyover country.
Basically they say they are loosing because we'd rather hear fox's "fantasy" than their "Truth" !!!!
I disagree with you, Mr. Futrell, on one small point. It's not that the MSM is dying because they are biased; it's dying because it's irrelevant to the national conversation.
Paradigm shift, new gestalt, call it what you will but the power of lateral connection made possible by the Internet means the old silo models of communications is dead, dead, dead.
Also, the power of Google is is either poorly or completely misunderstood by most of our elected representatives who are cocooned by the self appointed guardians on their staffs and who still believe that most of us still get our "news" about them from the newspapers.
AP has a story out today about how "hard" it is to lower the unemployment rate. Carrying the water for their "massah" again. So how did Bush manage to keep unemployment low AP, not a bit of help from you guys banging the drum about how bad it was at 5%, now you flipflop for your massah. And Obama wants to do away with a loophole which allows a few people who actually PAY some taxes to get the Earned Income Tax Credit. And he has the outrageous gall to call this tax increase a budget CUT! He lies so much and so often its incomprehensible that someone of such little talent and shallow character could flim flam half the population into voting for him. It will all correct itself as unemployment continues its unstoppable juggernaut upward. Bye bye congress in Nov.
Yeah its astonishing. MSNBC and CNN are goners for sure. You've got to realize though, at least one of the other networks is finally starting to turn. CBS airing Tim Tebow's pro-life ad and not the gay dating site's ad? Methinks some smart (read, "not braindead") CBS execs have finally noted the success of FOX.
There's even a whole wave of new liberals who don't realize that George Stephanopoulos was Bill Clinton's White House Communications Chief.
Did its suprise anyone that his guest of honor this week was Harvard race baiter Henry Louis Gates?
Fox uses homocide bomber only when the bomber kills others, suicide bomber when they only kill themself. I think it's an appropriate term.
You would think! I keep waiting…
What did they actually tell you was the reason for the editting? I'm interested in their phony excuses.
I was on the road during election night last tues. I was interested in the Senate race in Mass. as a conservative. The hotel in Tumcancari, Hampton Inn, did not have FOX News. Only CNN and MSNBC. I called the front desk to complain, they said they get that a lot but the local com cast just did not have FOX News. I was forced to watch the others and what a laugh it gave me. Chris Mathews embarrassed himself along with CNN .
The others are just stupid blind goofs. FOX News, its like printing money when your competition is so blind to reality.
Every opinion poll I've seen in the last few years has been telling the media what people thought was wrong, These last polls are just the final nail in that old "impartial journalist" straw man. You are overflowing with progressive activists masquerading as journalists and it is obvious to even the casual user of your product. Good bye and good riddance is all I can say.
thanks for saying it- and next time, don't hold back. tell us what you really think!
as far as i'm concerned, they're the enemy. not only do i NOT want them to wise up, i want them to stay the course, full steam ahead. when BHO & Co. goes down like the titanic, i want to watch all those <rooster>suckers fighting over the lifeboats. they have willingly & knowingly participated in the destruction of a once great nation and they richly deserve every bit of karma coming their way. F___ THEM.
In addition to the list of Tom Williams: Reasons for turning off the major networks, I stopped giving any credibility to NBC when Jane Pauley, fairly new anchor(ette) was interviewing Yassir Arafat. As she made some inane observation, and he cut her off with '… oh what do you know, you're just a woman…" Jane gulped and stared at him almost in tears, with a poor-little-victim-me demeanor. Hardly the professionalism required for the anchor chair.
I stopped watching anything with Geraldo Rivera after reading an article in one of the DC society columns that he and his then-wife attended a fund raising gala as guests of Bill Clinton. This during the Lewinski scandal, when toady Geraldo slavishly defended Clinton, even ridiculing those on the opposite side who reported the blue stained dress.
yup, i'd say that's a pretty fair analysis. "oh sure, it's EASY to be popular when you spin every story to suck up to your moronic, right-wing viewers, but we have to do the REAL NEWS!"
as i said above, i hope they never figure it out. they'll be like dinosaurs wondering what are all those white flakes fluttering down out of the sky, right before they freeze to death…
if that were the case, Fox would be sucking pond water, too.
Thank you Lord for the New Media. Thank you Lord that things are a' changin'. The best, last surge of the MsM and the psycho-libs occurred with Obama. Independents learned a very valuable lesson, they bought into negative coverage of a decent President and allowed themselves to be conned into veering from fair criticism of Bush and rightful praise to an oversimplified overall negative view and lost self-respect toward their own ability to analyze. Never again.
The MsM will pay even further with their continued demised and increased impotence. This is a fantastic article and one of many that in 5-10 years we will look back and start to wonder…are conservatives all prognosticators? Thanks Ron "Nostradamus" Futrell
Gave up on the MSM a long time ago. We know much more about Palin's daughters sex life than Obama's early years. They simply won't do a serious job in the way of a background check on The Messiah.
They seem to be afraid of what they'd find. The liberal media is completely in the tank…at this point I have to wonder if some aren't on the DNC payroll?
Who IS Barack Obama?
I believe "suicide bomber" refers to when the bomber kills himself or herself AND others.
When Chris Matthews said it was his job to make sure this President is successful. When he called Saul Alinsky one of his heros; it becomes time to have MSNBC , look again at the Matthews, Olberman, Maddow formula and at least be somewhat embarrassed or just continue to lose money. This group cannot be considered serious journalists. America in the know will not watch this tripe…go read the bankruptcy application of Air America.
Here's one
What's the difference between the MSM and Bagdad Bob?
Bob was entertaining.
Bob was telling lies to advance his country which was evil, our entrenched media is advancing lies to trash our country…which is good and great.
Classless? No. Clueless? Yes!
all those news media outlets are sinking…….
Let them sink, they did it to themselves………..
Thank you. Well put. Couldn't have said it better. These people are willfully and purposely attempting to destroy this great country. They are traitors — not worthy enough to lick the boots of the brave men and women who have sacrificed for this country.
I guess I'll join in the "when did you abandon the entrenched media" (or when did you recognize they abandoned you.
I was an up and coming litigator for the "culturally unpopular". You know…cops, firemen, corporations that were traded on the stock exchange.
Four events took place that cemented my belief that there was a set of rules that lacked all integrity, honor, morality and ethics in journalism.
1) I was trying a case that drew heavy media attention. It was on the nightly news every single night. The allegations were scandalous and juicy. The media was trying my clients in the court of public opinion and finding them guility…each and every night. They never once asked me for a quote. (I wouldn't have given them one anyway, but they weren't interested in talking to me…it would ruin the narrative)
During the trial, they were in the courtroom…making those drawings/sketches you often saw of courtroom scenes. The courtroom was packed, heavily with the major networks and the newspapers.
Over the course of several days, I began to dismantle the case and unveil the fraud that the claim was…and it was becoming obvious that everything that had been reported up until then…was completely untrue.
The media completely disappeared. No mention of how the case was turning out. No vindication for my clients. Just a conspiracy of silence.
One, little itty bitty local paper with a circulation of a few thousand came and asked for the story. All the majors buried it.
2) I was defending a large class action lawsuit brought by the ACLU. A federal judge made a pre-trial ruling that was procedural (and correct on the law, he was a great judge), but the wording of which, could be confusing to lay people. If you didn't know what it meant, it could be twisted to sound as if the judge was ruling on a substantive matter.
Anyway, I got a call from the NBC affiliate to comment on the ruling, my secretary answered and put the call through to me, during that 2 seconds, the anchor who had called walked away from the phone and had his "assistant" ask me to hold. It was 4:45 when they called me. I held for about 20-25 minutes….and continued to work on a brief I was writing.
He came back and picked up the phone and said "I was calling to confirm your thoughts on the ruling…it means "X", right?" (he correctly nailed it, as a strictly procedural matter). I said, that's precisely what it means. He thanked me and hung up.
Then my wife called…she said that the news lead off the evening for the first five minutes on how this was a substantive blow to the case, a horrible turn of events for my clients…and that they "tried to reach me for comment, but (I) was unavailable and not answering their call".
When I called to complain, the station said that the "assistant" was new…and he was to blame for the "mixup" in communication. They were terribly sorry. No retraction was ever made. They didn't run a "live" segment at 10:00 (after speaking with me, they couldn't run a "live" statement that they hadn't spoken with me…so they ran a tape of the 5:00 news as a "rerun" of an "earlier report".
3) I was in a Barnes and Noble out of state, looking for a book to read on my flight home. I had tried a case in federal court for a major company and was tired after a long week. I read a title that sounded interesting and flipped through the book…it was written by a "journalist" from a major metropolitan newspaper on politics, the law, interesting cultural impact of certain cases.
And, to my amazement…there's a chapter on a string of cases I had tried…and won…in federal court. Except, as I read further…every leftist lawyer in town is being quoted about the significance of these cases…and I didn't even know until that moment that the book had even been written. Now, it probably didn't sell a thousand copies…but…not once was I ever called, notified, or even given the courtesy of a heads up that this was being written.
They didn't mention me by name…I sat down and scoured the book looking for such a thing. But, the meaning of those trials was so twisted and distorted, it infuriated me nonetheless.
4) I caught a judge, an attorney and a reporter engaged in ex parte communications about a case that involved the left vs. corporate America…before the trial was commenced. This is a big no-no. I was stunned.
I complained to the Chief Judge and the Attorney General. I won the case, so no harm came of it…but, I so soured on the whole of it…I eventually left the practice of law…and forever disdained the entrenched media.
There is a certain beauty to the law when rules are followed, honor is cherished, integrity is held up. And there is a certain ugliness that simply cannot be washed away when the truth is corrupted, honor is trampled and integrity is discarded like an old dishrag.
The American people deserve better. Our information stream has been stolen…and I want it back.
every word of this obvious leftist discourse is so typical of the que words leftist use to discribe their proaganda and truth, goodness and wonderfulness. there is nothing wrong with the words themselves, just the definitions that are applied to them by the dogma pushers of the left. one of the key beliefs of Socialism is that truth is what they say it is. dispite the facts, the evidence and the history they misconstrue. They don't seem to understand that repatition of a lie only appears to be truth to the stupid, the ignorant and the socialist. My own mother is deathly afraid when I write these things in public forums, but then she lived through the hitler and stalin period of history, which oliver stone is presently trying to give a "Positive spin" to.
Leave the mainslime media alone. Never interrupt your enemy while he's making a mistake. (No, I didn't come up with that myself, I read it somewhere. It still works.)
Gerry N.
Where would political pygmy Chuck Todd be if Russert the mensch hadn't died?Amidst convention heat a mere 18 months ago, with McCain starting to surge,he expressed surprise that the lead "we" had was slimming. We?The age of subliminal thought manipulation only appeals to the MSNBC "audience" and we know how large it has grown to.The numbers don't lie, unlike their stable of "talent."Their is such an appropriate word to insert here.Pathetic.
The real God only wants 10%. The Muslim president isn't trying to get the economy going again. Though I have one, I didn't need a Finance degree to know that if all he did was cuts taxes and and government, the economy would already be on fire even with the lag time of the effect of tax cuts taken into consideration. He's here to destroy the country in as many ways as he can and as indiscernably as possible while he does it. I think a lot of people are having a hard time believing that he would do this to the, roughly, 35 million blacks who are also a part of America. He hates America more than he cares about blacks or anything or anyone else.
Interesting stuff, not suprising, but interesting.
They gave no excuse. The guy just arrogantly said, "Well, you're getting upset." and basically hung up on me. It was obvious he didn't feel he needed to give a reason. That's part of their arrogance.
I am convinced that the MSM will not go quietly into that good night. Watch for the Fairness Doctrine or some other variant to gain traction in the near future. The demise of Air America will add fuel to the fire for those who wish to regulate free speech out of existence. We must remain vigilant.
I find it pleasantly ironic that the harder moron's like Keith Olber(wo)man push their hardcore liberal viewpoint the faster the ratings drop, and thus the sooner they will be unemployed. Perhaps that is part of the reason they strive to change our Republic into Socialism: other than McDonalds, the only folks they'll be able to work for is schilling for the new regime.
Good luck with all of that.
As an avid reader and not a commenter, I will jump in this time to thank you for sharing your experiences. Yes, there is a certain beauty which is worth holding as the standard and striving to maintain.
The leftist media must die off because their own construct says that must be the case.
For years, the MSM has promoted itself as having high integrity, trustworthiness, etc. And now it's been revealed to be nothing more than a liberal soap box.
It has to stick to its party line; otherwise, it has to admit its failing and lose all trust. And since it can't admit its failing, it will die an agonizing death from distrust….
DING, DONG, THE WITCH IS DEAD!
Typical bureaucratic response. They make you upset with their idiocy or malevolence, then tell you that you're upset instead of acknowledging that what they're doing is the problem. Typical cowardly liberal behavior.
It typically does, but Fox uses "homocide" bomber when the bomber himself and others like the Bush administration used to. They call them suicide bombers when only the bomber dies. I prefer it because it puts the emphasis on the fact that the bombers are murderers, and their death shouldn't even be acknowledged. I do realize that it may not be technically correct as a bomber who survives could also be a homocide bomber if they kill someone else, but anything that strips the terrorists of any amount of dignity is fine with me.
YOU hit the nail on the head with a sledgehammer…that is the exact moment that broadcast news "jumped the shark"…but technology just wouldn't catch up for another 20 or 30 years…they got a free pass, invading American homes and businesses with their leftist propaganda for far too long…now, the chickens are coming home to roost…I'm still waiting for this current administration to come up with a way of shutting down dissent, a la Chavez in Venezuela. They can't let FOXNews and the Radio and Internet talks show folks keep beating them up…on the other hand, if they did manage to come up with some way of turning it all off, it would just make folks madder and confirm everything that was said…all they can do for now is ridicule and make snarky comments…I guess they are damned if they do and damned if they don't…I LOVE IT!
Your posting highlights something good coming from all the leftist drivel…that the PC name-calling is starting to lose its power to wound…and to make you want to change who you are to stop being called names…they can call me a bigot, a caveman, a "te@bagger", I simply do not care anymore…I know what I believe in: America, with all its warts is still the greatest nation on GOD'S Earth…that immigrants are good, if they stand in line and really want to be Americans like our forefathers, that when bad guys mess with us, we will kick their butts, that government CAN'T do it all, just the things the Constitution said it should, and that we can put OURSELVES back on the right track, if these creeps will just get out of the way. BTW, I guess the guy I can't stand the most in MSM News is that Olbermann jerk…I haven't heard anyone badmouth the troops like this guy since those Vietnam protesters…what a buffoon. I know that we aren't supposed to wish ill on others, but if he did step in front of a bus, I wouldn't cry about it, I'll just put it like that.
No one watches msnbc, because no one cares.
The American people see bias and bs…they are not stupid. Yet, the MSM just cannot fathom it. It really is quite unbelievable. They are so got their heads in the sand that they cannot see what is in front of them. The total bias they have towards Obama is so blatant. Oh well, they shall pass into history, while we continue forth. Good riddence.
What really makes them crazy is people like Beck who recommends people read books by legit guys who contradict the party life. This is not a plug for Beck, whose mannerisms I find a bit annoying, but his show last night outlining the history of the progressive movement was amazing. I'd have liked to have seen him go into more depth but for any television show/host that actually wants and encourages its viewers to educate themselves is revolutionary. Yeah, Barry, the health care program is a Bolshevik plot! Zinn and Salinger passed away on the same day. The stars aren't aligned, big boy!
Suicide- to kill self…. Homicide- to kill others… I call them 'murdering assholes… all these suicidal, homicidal maniacs should be gathered in one spot , and blown to Hell.
quite graphic, keep up the good work.
Let's try drilling for oil in Stephanopoulos's hair.
It is an interesting thought to take a retrospective view on how things have evolved with media in general and how we obtain our news in the present.
Many of us remember our parents (I am over 50 and under 60) being democrats or republicans and with very few independents. Regardless of their party affiliation, they were more often, than not, closer to the center. They only had the 3 alphabet networks for television, local radio and newspapers for information. I dare say they were most interested in what affected their pocket books the most- the economy, taxes and the price of life's necessities. They spent some time engaging in "national" events and far more time perusing the local news and obituaries.
Fast forward to today and we have some folks who proclaim to be conservative democrats (DINOS or blue dogs) and some who proclaim to be moderate republicans (RINOS). Therein lies the dilemma because the DINOS are being attacked by progressives and conservatives and the RINOS are being attacked by progressives and liberals. This dilemma has been proven by the fact that, even with a huge majority, the so called "democrats", in general, have been unable to agree upon anything long enough to see it through. However, the key word is "progressives".
Stepping back in time, no one really understood the "progressive" part. The main stream media always leaned towards the left, but no one paid much attention to what was really happening. No one understood what really started at the turn of the 20th century. Progressives "evolved" as years passed. Now we are beginning to recognize the root of the problem with media and politics.
I am thankful we have so many more resources than a predecessors and I predict we will all do what we need to do in order to remain free with liberty and keep our Constitution intact.
Chuck Todd is not a pygmy. He is a hamster in Obama'a backside,.. think richard gere
You're stupid, and you suck.
I had to laugh when I read this line: "The analysis that takes place, the consultants, the dollars that are spent and the effort that goes into research of whether to use Blue #2 or Blue #3 on the graphics would shock you." It's absolutely true!
I worked for 4 years on the morning show, and the evening and late newscasts at a station in the Seattle market. Our ratings needed a boost so the 'consultants' were called in to give their advice. They never said a word about the under-30 crowd that was writing the news, people who hadn't lived long enough to know off-hand if a story on the AP wire was accurate or not. They never said a word about the liberal slant those 'young-uns' had. They never worried about facts or accuracy or objectivity.
So what DID the highly-paid consultants recommend that would bring us bigger ratings? Move camera 3 to the left and back 10 feet!
Anyone old enough to remember the old three network days of the evening news remembers the days when the left controlled 100% of the press in America. It was the very same thing as Hugo Chavez does now. The same in China, Russia, and No. Korea. The left in America has shot themselves in the foot. They just don't know it yet. Let's all hope they continue to be as deaf as Obama seems to be. If there is/was a reason why talk radio is dominated by the right is that for decades it was the only source the left couldn't control. Adios, lefties!
My blood pressure destabilized when I read the headline of this piece. I thought for sure that something big was going down. For me, the elephant in the room is still the eligibility of Hussein Soetoro to be POTUS. If he is in fact a muslim usurper, we are all doing a great job complaining about the ugly Nazis while marching in unison to the gas chambers. Fox News is still not covering it and very few conservatives as well. It's like we all know the Greeks are hiding in the Trojan Horse and we're sitting around disagreeing on the quality of the wood. Orly Taitz is not even American born and she is like a dog with a bone about it. Why do you think our enemies are emboldened? They are watching us in disbelief that we have accepted one of them into our innermost sanctums and all we can do is talk. Now that makes me REALLY angry. Take him out of the white house and we can begin to heal from this massive blow to the head. Wake the h*ll up!
NASCAR may turn left, but they ain`t socialist
We can't. I'm pretty sure it's been declared a National Wildlife Preserve.
We the People are so dumb that we just don't understand what a great product they have and should be enamored with their leftist agenda driven news!
And yet, these elitist media types who drool over anything "progressive" aren't smart enough to figure out why we loathe them so much.
Well, I hate to suggest it..but you sound like a citizen who finally needs to run for office…take it back physically from them..you need to beat these people. thanks
Which is why I'm enjoying them living in denial of their own growing irrelevance!
