10) It’s really, really hard to be President – people expect you to do things and stuff.
9) America needs to be more like China.
8) Five year plans: they’re not just for Stalin anymore.
7) It’s still Bush’s fault.
6) Equity demands that it should be ten times more expensive to go to college in order to do something productive than it should be to go to college in order to become a bureaucrat.
5) Spending more public money on health care will still reduce the deficit. Really. It will.
4) Ending the influence of lobbyists and operating transparent government remains as important a promise to make today as it was during the 2008 campaign.
3) Joe Biden is very, very bored.
2) The problem with Washington is that everyone is eternal campaign mode. Accordingly, everyone should follow the President’s example and limit themselves to no more than 158 interviews and 411 speeches per year.

1) Nancy Pelosi’s face really is frozen.
(Honorable Mention: McCain-Feingold was passed during Teddy Roosevelt’s administration, for in overturning it the Supreme Court “reversed 100 years” of law).

McCain looks pretty good for a man of 167.
Obama is supporting education by the various history lessons he provides. The SOTU is equal to .5 credit hrs in history!
Uncle Karl would have been proud.
What I learned was my country is in dire straits. She is being attacked from every side, from within, and from without. The man that was elected, and took an oath to Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States, has abdicated his responsibility. He has conspired with a collective cabal of criminals to subvert the Constitution with his Shadow Government of Czars.
I learned that things do not look good for America right now.
Wouldn't it have been great to have been a fly on the wall at the Alito household last night when the Justice came home after hearing the speech? His comments were probably priceless.
The McCain-Feingold dig at the Supreme Court was such a laughable lie, but I noticed the Congressmen jumped to their and cheered!
Oops! I left out feet in my first comment so feel free to fill in the blank.
Honorable Mention: McCain-Feingold was passed during Teddy Roosevelt’s administration.
Wasn't this speech prewritten? Don't they fact check?
'knees"?
.
Obama makes promises and intends to keep them, he just needs more time to make the social justice.
C-SPAN should try harder to work with him, they are just too greedy like the other corporations of America, which is why the 1st Amendment should not apply to them.
When he says he doesn't have the facts, and then gives his opinion anyway, it is because he is so insightful he can tell if some one is acting stupidly.
He is like an Avatar connected to everything. He is a super Avatar saving the planet and sharing prosperity.

While I do not approve of Barak Obama, I have to agree with him on the campaign contribution issue, The Supremes got it wrong again. Freedom of speech is an individual right, not a free pass for special interest groups to attempt to sway elections.
[...] Big Journalism. Share and [...]
My wife and I watched the speech with out jaws hanging open. He was so petulant, so defiant, so out of touch.
Blame Bush. Check.
Cap and trade (!) Check.
Health care bill that everyone but unions and Nebraska hates. Check.
Insult the Supreme Court with them sitting 10 feet away. Check.
Tell republicans that it is their duty to vote for his garbage, even though they and their constituents hate it. Check.
Whine about how hard his job that he ran for is. Check.
Ignore the fact that a republican (!) won Ted Kennedy's seat. Check.
Meanwhile MSNBC is acting like that kid who burned Acorn getting arrested trying to burn a senator is the story of the century. Wall to wall coverage. Wow.
I agree with Al.

Obviously, the people who study the constitution and how it applies to law disagree with you, and so do I.
America says no! Barry says screw you, we’ve waited forty years to finally plunder and rape America, we’ll not be denied. The Woodstock nation is all grown up, and we want our free stuff, (Barry’s stash).
This was tough to watch because it appeared too many, including those two behind him, had to take a, er go to the bathroom. There were far too many painful looks; maybe he can do it over tomorrow. In the meantime, our Governor McDonnell delivered a concise speech that will be long remembered on this state of the union speech night.
Top 10 Things I Learned Listening To SOTU Last Night
I can read lips.
Alito can see the truth.
Obama is clueless.
Such a professional whiner. young obama must have been beaten up daily and had his lunch money stolen as well for him to have this "I'll get you" attitude.
It's parental abandonment syndrome.
Most of Nebraska doesn't love the health care bill; we're a proudly red state. We were betrayed by Nelson and he's made us look like a welfare queen to the rest of the country. He's been backpedaling and going overboard trying vainly to smooth it over with us ever since he got paid.
Somebody need to explain to me how groups with money that want to buy TV ads is an attempt to sway an election, but ACORN's activities, the blatant bias of the MSM, the thuggishness of SEIU, Media Matters, Moveon.org, and the pure lies from Obama DO NOT attempt to sway elections.
The Supremes got it dead right.
Leftists are throwing a tizzy because the decision levels the playing field with the special interest groups the empty suit has exempted from being, well, a special interest group…. unions.
So, it's perfectly OK for a billionaire like Soros to pump hundreds of millions into causes and people HE wants, but it's somehow bad or something for Larry's Widget Corporation to do the same?
Yeah. Right.
We're stuck with an incompetent boob as president. Hopefully, we'll survive him.
0) We would probably be better off not electing lawyers to positions of public trust.
Honorable Mention #2: I learned that as long as you articulate well, the content and the results are meaningless.
Facts???
LOL! ROTFLMAO!
People like Syntax_game, mikatollah and others ARE trying to explain it to you.
The problem is that they're steadfastly WRONG.
Only to people who don't actually THINK.
Barry doesn't "get it" and he never will.
Biden looked like he was going to cry a few times last night.
Freedom of speech should apply to everyone and all entities. Are you trying to tell us that the media is not a corporation or special interest group?
"Hi, my name is the Obama, and I have a wonderful ability to attack both partisan elements of the Congress, irritate the majority of the SCOTUS, AND do it all within a year…"
"Vote for me again; I'm a uniter…"
NOW I understand why Dad left…
No room in the hemisphere for the both of them at the same time…
Facts? We don't need no stinkin' facts!
I don't think he looks a day over 150.
About Congress "righting a wrong"…
How can congress "right a wrong", i.e. overturn a ruling by the supreme court? The only way to "overturn" the supreme court is by constitutional amendment, right? I think Mr. Obama was winging it on this one…. He really needs to stick to the script. Mr. Obama is right about one thing…Our schools are abysmal if this is the type of "constitutional professors" we turn out….
You think Obamas crowd is young; his speech writers are in their 20's. How much history do these guys know. LOL
Nancy Pelosi has looked like she's on Quaaludes the last few times I've seen her under these circumstances. That blissful grin is just weird.
Did the R response sound alot like a call to action for states rights?
Biden is still pissed that his son declined to run for the senate next year … apparently he has a good job.
Just have unions, ACORN and Rock The Boat contribute money and man power to sway the votes. But not other people.
well not exactly….I had to sit in class for 2 hours twice a week for 8 weeks to earn 3 credit hours…so if this is gooberment math then yes….lol
only what they learned in libtard schools….which doesn't inlcude "American" history or anything resembling it….
as is cousin Chavez….
Because the people who think that this is a bad are not capable of independent thought. They are the perfect targets for advertisers because they will buy whatever is "new and improved".
They were out smokin doobies during "20th Century US History"
Political free speechin churches is already limited. If they campaign from the pulpit they lose their non-profit status.
Don't leave out the armed forces representatives present, Obama turned them to stone.
Progressives the world over have discovered that facts only distort the message. It was a conscious decision not to include them. This administration has been innovative in that they've never included facts in the first place. Just makes it that much easier when deciding to omit them.
You can look it up.
Constitution? Oh, you mean Barry's toilet paper?
McCain looks good? How about Russ Feingold!
It is astonishing BHO can stand before the world and declare the U.S.Constitution meaningless given this man-child is not eligible under this same Constitution to be the POTUS. Ironic and mind-numbing to watch the SOTUS, and the entire federal government sit idly, and do absolutely nothing. http://www.thepostemail.com/2010/01/14/barack-hus...
You are incorrect. Companies don't speak; their management does, and those people are … people!
What I haven't seen in any of the comments on the SCOTUS' decision is when they asked the FEC's lawyer if this also extended to books, the FEC lawyer answered "Yes." SCOTUS had a big problem swallowing one horrendous outcome of this extended to banning books.
We don't do that in America.
The same Congressmen that decried Joe(you lie) Wilson for his lack of respect.
"…he's made us look like a welfare queen to the rest of the country…"
Yes, sir, he surely did that. Nebraskans have redeemed themselves, tho and now I'm proud of ya'll!
Dear God in Heaven, please help us… BO truly is insane.

In honor of Obama's SOTU last night:
I Wanna Talk About Me (with lyrics)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LX5xk1G_Dzs
PS- Obama's call for 'a new tone' falls on deaf ears, including his own…
…because the fool is still tone deaf.
While maybe more than anybody I disagree with the President's inane policies and his habit of talking out of both sides of his mouth, it only hurts our credibility as conservatives to keep making wild, unfounded claims about the President's birthplace or his ties to Islam. We have plenty to criticize with resorting to tabloid-cover mud slinging.
*without* I mean, sorry.
I got confirmation:
00) No matter how much a particular policy is hated (healthcare), what messages are sent (MA slection), Obama will not back off or be disuaded from his quest to take over this huge and critical part of the economy. We still have alot of work to do…
"with all due respect to separation of powers" – which is the same as saying not withstanding the Constitution.
The Constitution, the heart and soul of America.
How dare this light weight loser dismiss the Supreme Court. He is a tyrant at heart and I for one will not sleep well until he is voted out of office.
yeah, how did you like his executive order to do something the legislative branch refused to do?
Teachers in Chicago earn an average of $83,000 a year. And most make over $100,000 a year. They also quit teaching every day @ 1:30. Is it any wonder that students in Chicago lag behind the rest of the nation, and can't compete with foreign students?
As a state Senator, Barack Obama helped the teachers union that financed a big part of his campaigns to negotiate this Sweetheart deal. Did I mention that the teachers pensions are also Sweeter than those of teachers elsewhere that did not contribute to Obama's campaigns?
Please…..please…..please…….people……….lets not forget that the Annointed One has taught that the Constitution only tells us what the government can't (negative rights) do to us not what it must do for us.
Comrades, 5 Year Plans require commitment from the masses. We will press forward and embrace our education opportunities and honor our most gloriuos leaders. All Hail Glorious and Benevolent leaders in Washington.
I'm sure the teachers union who called three times a week to tell me who to vote for during the 2004 election along with sending me colorful fliers predicting the doom of my job if I didn't vote for Kerry would certainly agree.
Because a union definitely could not in any way be a special interest, and I'm sure they only spent those nice campaign contributions called dues that were taken out of my pay whether I wanted it or not,
In other words, special interest groups already spent a lot of money influencing the voice of the people. This ruling only levels the playing field so that they all can. However, unlike you apparently, I am fully capable of assessing the statements of various groups and making up my own mind.
To borrow a line from a Few Good Men…….maybe he was absent the day they taught law at law school
Freedom of speech AND Freedom of Assembly are joined in the First Amendment. How do you interpret that to mean "Freedom of Speech but for only Individuals' and 'Freedom of Assembly but only if you shut up?' Really! ROFLMAO
This actually takes away the media monopoly on access to political speech for 60 days prior to an election. My speech cannot compete with the speech of CNN. However my speech, when joined with the Tea Party movment speech will suddenly level the playing field a little.
Teddy R. was originally from the 57th state, right?
Ummm, his father was a Muslim which pretty much makes him a muslim in the eyes of the Islamic world. Now because he sat in Rev. Wright's so-called Christian Church for 20 years, that means he's turned his back on Islam making him an apostate in the eyes of the Islamic world. That would put a huge bulls-eye on his chest (see the persecuted Egyptian convert whose daughter begged Obama for asylum).
So in conclusion, he absolutely has muslim ties by simple virtue of his parentage and birth.
Who's taxes did he cut? Not mine. I have had no decrease in taxes at all. In fact my taxes WILL be going up when the Bush cuts expire.
And Jobs? He is going to push through Cap And Tax and if he does then everyones expenses will go up in the form of energy taxes. And he keeps attacking the banks. Employers are fearful in this environment. No one will hire until these disastrous policies are rescinded.
When will he impose a 'Fee' on the UAW to get our money back on the Union bailout?
If a mistake was made we will find out which of his teleprompters caused an embarrassment to El Presidente and have it executed immediately.
What part of "Congress shall pass no law…" don't you comprehend? Please show us the loophole that allows them to ban books (according to Obama's own lawyer arguing before the SCOTUS) if is endorses a particular candidate. Where is this loophole that applies to corporations? Pardon me for trusting Thomas Jefferson's brilliance over El Presidente's BS.
He just doesn't get it and never will. We will get even come Nov. 2010.
the whole country is aware of his getting booed until he left a pizza parlor on a visit home. good for them.
At age 77, I have lived thru the age of the Unions destroying this country, I live in whats called the rust bowl, (Between Pittsburgh Pa. and Cleveland Ohio) which used to be the heart of the steel industry in this country, till the unions forced all the steel mills to go overseas by their ridicules demands year after year. Nothing good can come of Obammer and his pushing unions for their support.
A little reminder? You republican slaves of the aristocracy were wrong about everything. He should've blamed bush more. A little humility might help your soul along.
I learned that Hussein and his Posse of Clowns have NO clue on what to actually do. Please remember to vote in Nov. 2010 and 2012.
Nebraskans hate the Health Care Bill too. Have you not seen and heard about Nelson getting booed out of a pizza place? We made the mistake of electing him but it will NOT happen again. Leave us out of any tirades on HCR. Nelson acted against what we wanted, he knew it and we've been beating him in the head with it since December 24th when he got bought.
Is there going to be a formal ceremony for Jimmy Carter passing the crown of 'Worst President Ever' to President Flounder? Or is the majority of public opinion enough at this point?
People are so fickle, this is the same crap that has happened for decades. Instead of complaining and sitting on your butt all day go out and do something. Each side is trying to do what they "think" is right, whether that be because of lobby groups of what they think their people want. If I am not mistaken our founding fathers thought the populace was too stupid to be involved in the election process. Not much has changed since then. People are irrational and illogical and usually emotions dictate their decisions. I really don't see any side offering alternatives to all the issues that face us today. People just complain it doesn't help them. Also, Republicans, fiscal responsibility? Yeah right.. You're a Joke. Democrats? You're a joke also.
She is suffering from a constipated brain and diarrhea of the mouth. This has been reported as a wide spread condition among libtards.
Biden is like a 7 year old boy sitting in an assembly at school to watch a barbie play.
Obama really thinks we're as dumb as he looks!!
Or as dumb as Nancy Pelosi looks, or even Joe "Hair Plugs" Biden!! I wanted to throw up watching Pelosi and her plastic smiles, and everytime Biden would scratch his head! Bleh!!!
His constant hand gestures and finger pointing was APPAULING!! What a joke!!
"Law Enforcement" cannot even be bothered to honor their oaths of office, so what do you expect?
Even Biden's hair plugs were bored silly by this speech.
Conservatives: Mad yet? Check out "Don't Close Gitmo", "Gore Lied" and other great stickers and other gear at http://www.keep2theright.com
So, the UNIONS which gave Obama millions aren't a special interest group who attempted to sway the election? Moveon.org isn't a special interest group? They sure as hell got a free pass and lots of perks from the one and only Messiah King Obama.
There is some merit to the nature of your statements, but I do question exactly what you had in mind when you stated
"Instead of complaining and sitting on your butt all day go out and do something." Do you have a well thought out plan for solving the dilemma? I am mildly offended that you seem to be calling everyone out, but offer no solution. I am more so offended that you feel you have the right to assume anyone is sitting on their butt all day- since I started work at 3:30 a.m. today because 1. I chose to do so and 2. I do business all over the world. So, Matthew, my son, get off your high horse and realize that all of us want the best for our country and if enough good guys stick together, we will preserve our freedoms and liberty for many future generations.
This presidency reminds me of a soap opera where the villain tricks someone into marrying them. Once the unaware spouse finds out the truth they are unable to divorce for some fill in the blank reason. “We the People” elected this chap and even though the voters thought they were getting something vastly different the villain sticks to their dastardly plan. This gentleman has been planning this for a long time. He knew there was a good chance he was going to be a one termer but he swore in college once he gets in nothing would stop him.
P.S. That pep talk from the pudgy Castro wannabe Hugo Chavez must have done wonders for the President.
I have learned alot from BHO well three things really.
1. if your neighbor loses his job and his home we are in a recession.
2. If I lose my job and my home we are in a depression.
3. We will be in recovery when BHO loses his home and his job.
4. Come on recovery.
Correct and proper reponse to Obama:
yelled out:"You Lie!'
mouthed: "Not True"
Yup.
American style law and process "get in the way" of this socialist disaster's concept of governence.
So…he "doubled down" last night.
He's a moron.
Actually, one can overturn a ruling by the Supreme Court by getting the right judges on the court. Which Donkeys-In-Elephant-Suits voted in favor of Ms. Sotomayor?

Ding ding! Chicago, you just hit the nail on the head. We have to keep fighting this President on judicial appointments–and pray for the continued health of our favorite Supremes.
Remember FDR's attempt to pack the Supreme Court.
If Obama thinks he's going to try to accomplish by Executive Order that which McCain-Feingold (unconstitutionally) tried to accomplish via legislation, he must be challenged in the court system yet again.
Key word of the day (heck, key word of every day): ENUMERATED POWERS
Good choice.
This should have topped the list.
Who do you proffer a verifiable lie,, smack down the concept of separate powers and insult several persons who have actually earned their seat – paid their dues – in the national spotlight.
Don't always agree with SCOTUS. But you damn well better respect the Court. This POTUS' act is despicable.
Top 10 things I learned about Obamas SOTU SPEECH
1)Obama is an incompetent idiot
2)Obama hates America
3)Piglosi is a Bolshevik beech
4) Harry Greed is even more boring than I imagined
5)Where was Hilldebeast Bubba?
6)Leno is more entertaining on his worse night
7) the only jobs Obama can demand are the kind Lewinksy gives
8)Obama talks too much and knows too little
9)at least Sarah Palin is nice to look at
10) how much did it cost we the people to listen to that drivel?
